Mexican Independence Day parade 2010

Spectators watch floats pass along the street, during the East L.A. Mexican Bicentennial Independence Day Parade, in Los Angeles on Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010. The Mexican Mutual Society’s Mexican Independence Day Fiesta will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the society, 1820 E. 28th St., Lorain. There will be a buffet dinner for $8 with tacos, tamales, tostadas, burritos, rice, beans, salads and desserts. Music will be provided by WDLW Radio host Jose “Pepe” Rivera and entertainment by the Alma de Mexi

Mechanical engineering students from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (my alma mater) have developed an eco supercar that gets 2,752 MPG! I never get tired of stories like these. As the car industry trips over itself trying to tap the fuel-efficient vehicle market, they end up getting pwned by a group of kids. And they been doing it since 2005! This car isn't some “complicated” hybrid or electric vehicle…it is 100-percent battery free. added by: jerryjamesstone

Human dominoes world record

Staff in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, set up 41 mattresses across their warehouse, with a person standing in front of each one.

The mattresses were positioned along a carefully mapped route through the warehouse, zigzagging up and down the main floor, among forklifts, boxes and conveyor belts.

The front worker tips backwards, beginning the domino effect to topple the 40 remaining mattresses with various yelps and shrieks from participants.

The final person then lands on a conveyor belt where he is given a teddy bear, a sleep mask, a duvet and a pillow.
