22 Incredibly Revealing Quotes About Enhanced Pat Downs And TSA Groping

At what point will Americans finally stop losing more liberty and freedom? With each passing year, the iron grip of the government gets even tighter, and each time it does we are told that it is either for “our safety” or for “national security”. One can only imagine what is going to happen the next time there is any kind of “terror incident” on an airplane. They are going to point to all those Americans who are complaining about “enhanced pat downs” and TSA groping as the reason why security is not tough enough. So where does all this end? Will we eventually all have to go through a body cavity search just to get on an airplane? Will they start groping us at school, at work and at sporting events? Are we going to have to “lock down” America from coast to coast to ensure that no terrorist ever is able to harm any American? added by: Revelation1217

My Chemical Romance’s Danger Days: A Cheat Sheet

Band went through a lot of changes while making the just-released album. By James Montgomery My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way Photo: Warner Bros. My Chemical Romance’s Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys is, on the surface, yet another concept album from a band that seemingly makes nothing but concept albums. It’s a daring, DayGlo-addled story about a band of outlaws — that would be, of course, the titular Killjoys — battling an oppressive corporation in a postapocalyptic future world (or something like that). But if you dig a little deeper, past the costumes and car chases and down to the nuts and bolts of how it came to be, you quickly learn that Danger Days is a lot more than just a work of fiction. Its creation was, in all honesty, much stranger than anything frontman Gerard Way ever could have written. Because, in the near two years they spent making the album, MCR were pushed to the brink. They lost their drummer, very nearly imploded and contemplated walking away entirely. They recorded an entire album’s worth of material, the overwhelming amount of which they absolutely hated. Times were grim. Lesser bands would have quit. But My Chem refused to break. Instead, they reteamed with an old friend, powered through and somehow emerged a better, badder band. With Danger Days, My Chemical Romance defied the odds — and so, with the album finally hitting stores Monday (November 22), we’ve decided to take a look back at the (very) long and tenuous road that led to this point. Sometimes, truth really is stranger than fiction, and this album is the proof. In October 2008, MCR bassist Mikey Way tells MTV News that the band is taking “a long break” and that, aside from the version of Bob Dylan’s “Desolation Row” they recorded for Zack Snyder’s “Watchmen,” there were no plans to begin work on a new album. At the end of 2008, Gerard Way hints that recording sessions had begun in earnest and that the new My Chem album probably wouldn’t be a conceptual thing: “I think I had to get it out of my system, as far as writing concept records,” he says. In January, the video for “Desolation Row” premieres, showing a lean, mean, decidedly non-conceptual version of the band. In February, Gerard Way tells MTV News that the new album would more than likely be a bare-bones, proto-punk affair, promising “there’s a purity to it. There’s less happening.” After nearly six months out of the spotlight, MCR premiere a trio of new songs , including “Death Before Disco” at the Roxy in Hollywood. Way re-emerges at Comic-Con 2009, touting the skills of producer Brendan O’Brien and saying that the new album is shaping up to be “love letter to rock and roll.” At the end of the year, the band previews a handful of songs for SPIN magazine, and Way says the album “has these feelings of being like a 15-year-old kid at the Jersey Shore, trying to win a M

The United States imprisons it’s own

With nearly 25% of the world's inmate population, who says the United States doesn't have political prisoners? Excerpt: “Indeed, the United States leads the world in producing prisoners, a reflection of a relatively recent and now entirely distinctive American approach to crime and punishment. Americans are locked up for crimes — from writing bad checks to using drugs — that would rarely produce prison sentences in other countries. And in particular they are kept incarcerated far longer than prisoners in other nations.” How is this helpful to society? Why doesn't Americans and politicians take a good hard look at this issue? Coupled with an extremely dysfunctional judicial system populated largely by opportunistic prosecutors who believe they are empowered to wield the hand of God play the role of Judge, jury and executioner over people's lives, it's little wonder we incarcerate so many. In my own experiences with the judicial system I can tell you with NO uncertainty the legal system has no interest in “truth”, “right” or “wrong”. The judicial system executes sloppily prosecuted people, knowing full well the inadequacies of the process. Prosecutions and executions sought and pushed forward by prosecutors who decided for themselves who was guilty, ignorant of their own weaknesses, failings, projections and externalization. Our nation shoots itself in not just the foot, but the leg and the abdomen. Our judicial system's conduct is terminal and fatal to our society. Need we look at the actions of the Supreme Court allowing corporations the buying of judges, politicians and political favorable agendas and legislation AT the expense of the electorate? That you believe you haven't been touched by the dysfunction of the judicial system is no excuse for ignorance or worse yet, indifference to the violations and victimization's of the judicial system on the American people. Not convinced? Just think about it. Why does the US's 5% of the world's population house nearly 25% of the worlds prisoner population and at what expense to you financially in the form of taxes? At what expense to society to loose so many of it's primarily male population? What is a country more interested in prosecuting and jailing it's people than helping them? More interesting facts: “Children of incarcerated parents have increased risk of anxiety, depression, aggression, truancy, attention disorders and poor scholastic performance.” I met a homeless young man who had been incarcerated for 3 days not paying a bus fee of less than $5.00. And still more interesting facts: “Children of incarcerated parents have increased risk of anxiety, depression, aggression, truancy, attention disorders and poor scholastic performance.” Would you rather the state and Federal Government paid for the bus fare and not incarcerated the young man or waste some $250.00 a day for his incarceration plus court costs? Who makes decisions like this? Is it crazy or has the legal and judicial system itself become the monster? Again, is an unpaid bus fare of less than $5.00 worth blowing more than $600.00 of American tax payer money? Is this what “being tough on crime is”? That's a resounding: YES! Did the people who conduct our legal and judicial system in this way go to college? Are they idiots? Are they intentionally trying to destroy America or are they just really really stupid? Fact 1: Not everyone in prison is guilty. Fact 2: Not everyone accused is guilty. Personally, I can't believe a civilized society would conduct itself so self-destructive and so oblivious to the Obvious! http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/23/us/23prison.html added by: VoyagerFilms

Should Obama grant clemency to Jonathan Pollard?

In a letter dated November 18th, 2010 addressed to US President Obama and signed by more than 30 democratic members of the House of Representatives, clemency is being sought for accused and confessed spy Jonathan Pollard. The letter arrived yesterday in an email from the Washington Report on Middle East Affairs accompanied by background information on the Pollard case. According to the WRMEA, this letter was initiated by Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA) in coordination with the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, National Council of Young Israel, B'nai B''''rith International, the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism, the Zionist Organization of America, Agudath Israel, and former presidential candidate Gary Bauer, a Christian Zionist whose non-profit organization “American Values” seems to be more concerned with Israel than the United States. added by: Aimee_Kligman

Mark Shields: I’ve Never Heard a Democratic Leader Accuse Bush of Lying Us Into War

PowerHouse Solar Shingle Is Clever. But Is It A Good Idea?

95% of roofs in America are asphalt shingles that are cheap, fossil fuel based, heat absorbing and don’t last very long; then they are hard to get rid of. They have been called “a disposable roofing system that is difficult to dispose of.” But did we say they were cheap? Dow Chemical decided if you can’t beat’em, join’em and has developed the Powerhouse solar shingle, which John showed us last year. It … Read the full story on TreeHugger

Perry and Rihanna also each picked up a double-platinum certification — for “Teenage Dream” and “Rude Boy,” respectively — bringing their total hauls to more than 5 million units sold. The Bruno Mars track “Just the Way You Are” was certified platinum, giving the crooner his very first solo plaque.
