The Kim Kardashian divorce case may have reached a tipping point today. First, Kanye West was actually deposed by an attorney for Kris Humphries, who asked the rapper… God only knows what about his relationship with Kardashian and how it has any bearing on her desire to ditch Humphries. Then, Kim’s lawyer – Laura Wasser – went off on the entire debacle, telling a Los Angeles County judge that her client is “handcuffed to Mr. Humphries… These delays are forcing her to be married. She wants to dissolve her marriage so she can move on with her life.” Aside from supplying readers with the easiest punchline ever, she makes a good point. Kris signed a prenuptial agreement. What is the hold-up here?!? Wasser also expressed irritation, according to TMZ sources, that Humphries and his legal team are dragging this mess out, considering they haven’t even deposed Kim yet. She referred to the case as a “fishing expedition.” In response, Kris’ lawyer said all Kim has to do is agree to an annulment (which would void the prenup) and everyone could move on. Sources close to the ex-couple tell TMZ, Chad’s on track to finish his batterer’s intervention program in the next couple months — at which point Chad will ask the judge to terminate his probation and lift the no-contact order. If that happens, Evelyn would have to get a civil restraining order to keep Chad away — but we’re told she has decided NOT to do that … because she just wants to “move on.” Chad was sentenced to one year probation and the batterer’s class after pleading “no contest” to domestic battery following the August 11 fight with Evelyn — but since he’s completing the class early … the judge can also lift the probation early. SMH. Teenagers, booze, and Halloween weekend is never a good mix. According to NBC News: A teenager ran over and killed two people sleeping on a downtown Los Angeles sidewalk early Sunday, police said. Police allege that Carmen Elena Chavez of Los Angeles was drunk when her 1989 Mercedes-Benz careened onto the sidewalk where the two were sleeping. Chavez had been speeding and attempted to navigate a turn when the vehicle spun out of control, Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Cleon Joseph said. The two people, a man and woman, died at the scene, Joseph said. They have not yet been identified. Chavez was booked into the Los Angeles County Jail on vehicular manslaughter charges, police said. Early reports say the actress was taken to the hospital, though her publicist tells MTV News she was just taking ‘a nap.’ By James Montgomery Lindsay Lohan Photo: Just another day in the life of Lindsay Lohan: On Friday afternoon (June 15), California station KABC broke news that the oft-troubled actress was taken to the hospital after being found unconscious in a Marina del Rey, California, hotel room and that her condition “was currently unknown.” According to the report, the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a 911 call at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel after Lohan — in Marina del Rey to film the Lifetime Original movie “Liz & Dick” — was found unconscious in the penthouse. KABC ended the story by promising “we will add more details to this report as they become available.” Of course, those details might be difficult to come by. Because right around the time KABC’s report was making the rounds, TMZ jumped into the fray, breaking news that, while paramedics did respond to a 911 call at the hotel, Lohan was never taken to the hospital. “Paramedics … determined nothing was wrong with Lindsay [and] left without transporting her to the hospital,” the TMZ story said. “Lindsay wasn’t feeling well after complaining of exhaustion. She called someone from the ‘Liz & Dick’ production team early this morning, and the team sent a private doctor to check on her. “Before arriving, the doctor called the hotel and asked someone to check on Lindsay,” the report continued. “Someone from the hotel went to her door, ‘checked on her’ and determined she was ‘unresponsive.’ The hotel then called 911.” KABC subsequently updated its story to include a comment from Lohan’s attorney, who let it be known that the actress was, in fact, “fine.” “As I understand it, she was exhausted after shooting non-stop for two days,” Shawn Holley told the station. “Someone called paramedics, for reasons which are unclear. They determined that she was fine.” “She’s OK,” Dina Lohan told the Huffington Post . “She was working through the night and wrapped at 6:15 this morning. She’s home now sleeping. She’s doing a great job.” Lohan’s publicist, Steve Honig, echoed those sentiments, telling MTV News in a statement: “Lindsay worked a grueling schedule for the past few days … [and] took a nap before shooting her final scene. Judge tells troubled actress, ‘stop nightclubbing and focus on your work.’ By Gil Kaufman Lindsay Lohan Photo: FilmMagic Lindsay Lohan got some good news on Thursday when she appeared in Los Angeles Superior Court and a judge formally ended her lengthy supervised probation from two 2007 DUI arrests. Wearing a powder blue pants suit, the troubled actress earned praise for completing her court-mandated counseling sessions and 480 hours of community service. According to the Los Angeles Times , at the final probation status check in for Lohan in connection with a shoplifting conviction and probation violations from the 2007 arrests, Judge Stephanie Sautner said Lohan had finished her obligations for counseling and community service in “short of a year and she has done everything this court asked her to do.” The actress completed the final counseling sessions and community service work at the Los Angeles County morgue earlier this week. Sautner then announced that the five years of probation for the DUI case were officially over and that she was putting Lohan on unsupervised probation for the shoplifting incident until May 2014. “The only terms for you are for you to obey all laws,” Sautner said. “You don’t need to come to court anymore.” In addition to countless court appearances, Lohan has been jailed several times for violations stemming from drug use to failing to do her required community service. Clearly pleased, Lohan, 25, told the judge, “I just wanted to thank you for being fair. What you’ve done has really opened a lot of doors for me.” Lohan has been working on getting her career back on track, recently appearing in an episode of “Saturday Night Live” , booking a “Glee” gig and signing up to play Elizabeth Taylor in a TV movie. There is no evidence that any foul play was at work in the death of Whitney Houston. But that did not stop Nancy Grace from speculating about whether someone played a role in her passing , and a new report claims it isn’t stopping unidentified callers from pressing the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office from opening up a murder investigation. Sources tell TMZ that several individuals – alleging to be relatives of either Houston or Bobby Brown – have contacted the office under the belief that the artist was murdered. One even claimed to possess evidence that proved this theory, while another blamed a fellow relative for the homicide. There’s been no verification of identities and still no proof exists that points to anything but an overdose on pain medication and alcohol. The official cause of death will be determined when toxicology results are in.
Lil Wayne claims he is not engaged to girlfriend Dhea , and that his recent proclamations of “SHE SAID YES!” referred only to her being his Valentine. Oooookay. The confusion arose at a Miami restaurant last night, when he paid the staff to slip a mammoth ass ring inside a dessert he had delivered to the table. Moments after the signature ice cream sundae (and ring) came, Weezy then jumped on top of their table shouted to the restaurant, “SHE SAID YES!” Everyone inside the restaurant believed the rapper had just popped the question, as did everyone else later that night, when Weezy tweeted, “She said yes!” Apparently not. Wayne later clarified, “I meant ‘she said yes’ to being my valentine!!! Hahahaha! Y’all krazy!” Not sure we’re the krazy ones here, Weez, but whatever. The sundae costs $43, ring not included.
