Actress reportedly tested positive for alcohol and faces possible jail time. By Gil Kaufman Lindsay Lohan Photo: David McNew/ Getty Images Just weeks from completing her home detention sentence, troubled actress Lindsay Lohan is due in a Los Angeles court on Thursday (June 23) after allegedly violating her probation by testing positive for alcohol. According to TMZ , the 24-year-old actress tested positive for alcohol earlier this month and could be facing additional jail time if the probation department has its way. The gossip site reported that Lohan was tested twice last week for drugs and alcohol and that unnamed sources said she tested positive for alcohol on one of the tests and negative on another; both were reportedly negative for drugs. One of the tests is reported to have taken place after a rooftop barbecue party Lohan had at her condo for friends on June 12. In April, Lohan was sentenced to four months in jail for allegedly stealing a $2,500 necklace but was allowed to serve a reduced 35-day term at her Venice, California, condo. She was under strict home-confinement rules and wore an electronic monitoring device. TMZ reported that the Los Angeles County Probation Department will ask the judge in the case to pull Lohan from house arrest and send her directly to Los Angeles County jail. Lohan’s attorney could not be reached for comment at press time. Lohan was specifically told by the judge in her 2007 DUI case that she was not allowed to consume any alcohol while on probation. As part of her plea deal in the necklace case, Lohan was also sentenced to perform 480 hours of community service, but was ordered not to perform that work until she completed her house arrest. She was also sentenced to undergo psychological counseling and participate in a shoplifters alternative course. “Basketball Wives,” VH1′s hit show, is going cross country to Los Angeles. Though the original series takes place in Miami, you’ll still see some familiar faces on the “LA” season when it airs on August 29. Gloria Govan, the wife of Matt Barnes (of the Los Angeles Lakers) who famously feuded with all the “Basketball Wives” when she appeared on the first season, has surprisingly signed on for the LA season. As part of MTV News’ countdown to the interactive event — fans can still vote for their favorite boundary-pushing, genre-expanding clip over at the O Music Awards site — we’ve been asking celebs to describe what innovation means to them. “It’s something that definitely is unique, that utilizes either new media or new technologies,” said pro skater Tony Hawk. “It’s something that keeps you interested, all the way through,” “Gossip Girl” actress and Pretty Reckless singer Taylor Momsen added. Rob Sheffield from Rolling Stone said “innovative” doesn’t mean expensive or flashy. “It’s not the budget, it’s not the effects; it’s the pizzazz the star is actually bring to the camera,” he said. While judge reduced Lohan’s theft charge, she found her in violation of her probation. By MTV News staff Lindsay Lohan arrives for court in Los Angeles Photo: Getty Images Earlier Friday (April 22), Lindsay Lohan received the good news that her felony grand theft charge had been reduced to a misdemeanor , which brought the threat of jail time from a three-year sentence to a possible one-year stint. However, even with that good news, Lohan was still found to be in violation of her probation , for which Judge Stephanie Sautner has just sentenced Lohan to 120 days in county jail. According to TMZ , Lohan is headed to the Lynwood Correctional Facility, where she will be processed and eligible to post bail. Lohan lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley will appeal the sentence. The actress is due back in court May 11 for a pretrial hearing related to the misdemeanor charge. The troubled actress was also ordered to complete 480 hours of community service; 360 of those hours must be performed at the Downtown Women’s Center, and the remaining 120 hours will be served at the L.A. County morgue. Speaking to Lohan’s alleged theft of a $2,500 necklace back in January, Sautner explained that the actress should have notified the store owners instead of waiting several weeks to return the necklace when she found out the cops were about to raid her house. Late last month, Lohan turned down a plea deal offered by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office after being told by Judge Keith Schwartz that had she accepted the DA’s deal — reportedly six months of jail time — she would have been found in violation of her probation and could serve more time. Lohan allegedly lifted a $2,500 necklace from a Venice, California, jewelry store on January 22. The owner reported the theft to the Los Angeles Police Department, which later investigated the accusation and presented evidence to the District Attorney’s office.
