Which Drunken Singer Just Put This Home On The Market For $13.5 Milli???

Via Realtor.com Christina Aguilera has put her Beverly Hills house on the market for $13.5 million. Aguilera may be hoping that selling her house will put an end to a nearly year long slump: Since kicking off last summer with the slow selling album “Bionic” (her first record in four years), she forgot the lyrics to the National Anthem at this year’s Super Bowl, fell while performing in a Grammy tribute to Aretha Franklin, filed for divorce from her husband Jordan Bratman and, most recently, was arrested for public intoxication along with new beau Matthew Rutler. Aguilera’s 6 bedroom, 9 bath Mediterranean-style house covers a whopping 10,000-square-feet on 0.64 acres. It features three covered parking spaces, hardwood floors, a pool, patio, breakfast bar, pantry and powder room. It was previously owned by Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne. Have a flip-thru to peep X-Tina’s crib…

Is Oprah Winfrey Angry At Aretha Franklin?

View post:

Oprah Winfrey is feeling like she was disrespected by the Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin for granting Wendy Williams the first interview since her surgery. Sources say while Oprah, 57, gives Wendy, 46, credits for snagging the much-coveted sit-down with Aretha, she’s still “steaming,” and feels  that Wendy’s show is “a long way” from hers, and criticizing it for being “silly and gossipy.” “Oprah is about as angry as can be,” said an insider. “This is the final season of her show, and she’s been pushing to land all the big ‘gets’ out there. Oprah is embarrassed that Aretha – a legend – chose Wendy, who is a relative newcomer in the TV talk show world.” “Oprah was not going to keep the whole interview on the illness, which she knows Aretha is reluctant to fully discuss,” said the source. “She was going to get Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson and Berry Gordy, the founder of Motown Records, for a touching tribute. But instead, Aretha chose Wendy – and Oprah is NOT happy!” Aretha underwent surgery in December but has never publicly revealed the nature of her health issues. Lala made an appearance on the Wendy Williams Sho w yesterday to talk about her new move to New York with hubby, NY Knicks player Carmelo Anthony as well as their new reality show. Lala looked beautiful as always while chatting with Wendy during the show. Wendy asked Lala if she was the newly appointed Knicks first lady. She went on to reveal; “I’m the new girl, I think they should be welcoming me.” Lala even went on to say that she hasn’t met the other player’s wives yet, although her and Melo have been there for a couple weeks now. Adele Says VH1 ‘Unplugged’ Performance ‘Was A Complete Joy’

Chart-topping Brit’s set premieres Thursday at 7 p.m. ET on VH1.com. By James Montgomery Adele Photo: MTV News She’s already got an armload of Grammys , the #1 album in the country and a line of admirers that stretches from Los Angeles to London, but all Adele has ever really wanted is her own “Unplugged.” On Thursday (March 3), she’ll finally get hers, when “VH1 Unplugged: Adele” premieres on VH1.com at 7 p.m. ET, and then airs on the network proper the following night, at 11 p.m. ET. For a singer who’s already accomplished so much in 22 short years, you’d think that filming “Unplugged” would be just another stop along her road to success. But you’d be wrong. To hear Adele tell it, “Unplugged” is the culmination of a dream that started nearly a decade ago. “My favorite one is the Lauryn Hill one; I’ve got that one on CD as well,” she told MTV News. “I’ve never been so choked up by something, and it was so refreshing — I mean, I was still very young when she did her ‘Unplugged,’ and when Miseducation … came out, I was really young, but that is the most influential record of my life. It’s my favorite record of all time. But I never knew anything about her, she was so elusive … but just to see her [on ‘Unplugged’], and that broken look, just her and a guitar, her banter between the songs — I felt like how I feel when I hear Etta James. I was just like, ‘I totally get it. She’s in my head, she’s in my heart, she knows me.’ “It’s quite a special moment when you suddenly have that link and bond with an artist, and I finally got that with her, when I heard that,” she continued. “So yeah, it was a complete joy [to do my own episode].” Bits and pieces of Adele’s “Unplugged” set — including a soulful take on Aretha Franklin’s “(You Make Me Feel Like a) Natural Woman” — have already been rolling out on the VH1 blog , and the full performance includes songs from both her 19 and 21 albums. Adele definitely seemed to be channeling not only the spirit of the immortal Aretha during the Harlem taping of the show, but her icon Hill too. Trust us, you don’t want to miss a minute of it. She gets emotional on “Someone Like You” and fiery on “Rolling in the Deep.” In fact, the whole thing feels very much like a dream come true, probably because it was. Trust us, you don’t want to miss a minute of it. Related Artists Adele

Christina Aguilera To Be Judge On ‘The Voice’

Aguilera joins panelists Cee Lo and Maroon 5’s Adam Levine on reality singing competition. By Aly Semigran Christina Aguilera Photo: Pascal Le Segretain/ Getty Images Just one day after her arrest on a misdemeanor charge of public intoxication , Christina Aguilera is making headlines again, only this time for more favorable reasons. The singer has officially signed on to be a celebrity judge for NBC’s upcoming talent competition “The Voice.” Billboard reported on Wednesday (March 2) that the Grammy winner will join host Carson Daly and fellow judges Cee Lo Green and Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine on the “American Idol”-style program. “I am so excited to be part of such a wonderful project that celebrates music and the talent behind it. To be given the opportunity to help shape new artists’ careers and mentor them to see their dreams come to fruition is a task I welcome with open arms,” Aguilera said in a statement. “I am so happy to be working with fellow Grammy Award winners Adam and Cee Lo as I feel there is so much we can all bring to ‘The Voice’.” Aguilera has suffered a series of personal and professional setbacks recently. Aside from Tuesday’s arrest, the 30-year-old is in the midst of a very public divorce from husband Jordan Bratman. Last month, the pop singer tripped on the Grammy stage following an all-star tribute to Aretha Franklin, and that was just days after she flubbed the words to the national anthem during the Super Bowl . So word of her signing on to “The Voice,” which premieres on April 26 on NBC, is probably welcome good news for Aguilera. Series creator and go-to reality producer Mark Burnett (“Survivor,” “The Apprentice”) said he always had his sights set on the “Burlesque” star. “When I decided to produce ‘The Voice,’ I immediately knew that my first choice for a female coach had to be Christina Aguilera,” Burnett said in the statement, adding, “Christina has a perfect voice and is an undeniable force in the music business. She is the epitome of ‘The Voice’.” Will you tune in for “The Voice” now that Christina Aguilera has signed on to be a judge? Tell us in the comments! Related Artists Christina Aguilera

Sisters Who Were Released From Prison For Kidney Transplant Need To Lose 160 Lbs And Quit Smoking Newports

Uhhh oh…the “kidney sisters” have a little hiccup in their quest for organ transplant action: There’s a “complication” in the case of Mississippi ex-convicts sisters Jamie and Gladys Scott, who won their release from life prison terms on the grounds that one sister would give the other a kidney. The planned organ transplant apparently cannot take place until Jamie quits smoking and they lose a combined 160 pounds. The sisters had served 16 years of their life sentences for a robbery when they were released on Jan. 7. They moved to Pensacola, Fla. Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour set a condition of their freedom that Gladys give a kidney to Jamie, who suffers from kidney failure. Gladys had volunteered to do so. Jamie Scott said Wednesday that a doctor said she has to lose 100 pounds to receive the transplant. She said would-be donor Gladys must lose 60 pounds and stop smoking. Barbour hasn’t said whether he’ll send the sisters back to prison if the transplant doesn’t happen. This will be a good look for them as it’s pointless to be free and your a$s is unhealthy…they both need to get on that “Aretha Franklin” diet STAT! Source

Kelly Clarkson Influenced By Prince, Aretha Franklin, Others For New Album

‘I record my last song on the 25th of this month and then we will be releasing the album!’ singer writes on Facebook. By James Dinh Kelly Clarkson Photo: Billy Ingram/ WireImage It’s been a while since we’ve heard some new music from Kelly Clarkson . But according to the “American Idol” alum, that’s all about to change very soon as she’s one track away from finishing her new album. While the 28-year-old songstress has previously described the project as ” Garbage-meets-pop-meets-Muse ,” the singer has now come forth to reveal that the she’s been influenced by some of music’s greats, including Prince, Tina Turner and Aretha Franklin, for the forthcoming LP. Taking to her Facebook on Monday to keep fans updated about the project, Kelly said that she’s one track away from completing her fifth studio album. “PS: I record my last song on the 25th of this month and then we will be releasing the album!” she wrote. “This album was influenced by Prince, Tina Turner, Sheryl Crow, Radiohead and there’s a little bit of a Country vibe/influence on a couple of songs.” While the big-voiced singer wasn’t part of the Grammys’ all-star tribute to Aretha Franklin on Sunday, Clarkson revealed that one of her favorite tunes from her recent studio sessions was inspired by the Queen of Soul. “Oh and also one of my favorites on the new album is highly influenced by Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder. Eric Hutchinson wrote it … the album is gonna be a great pop record! I can’t wait for y’all to hear it!” she wrote. Although she partnered with acclaimed songwriter Toby Gad for two tracks, the singer tweeted to fans that she did not re-team with pop maestro Dr. Luke (“Since U Been Gone,” “Behind These Hazel Eyes”) this time around. Last October, the pop star participated in an impromptu Twitter Q&A , where she teased details about the new album. Not only has Clarkson recorded two duets for the still-untitled album, but she’s also announced that she’s ready to hit the road again. When we spoke to songwriter Claude Kelly last year, he said they’re working on something different for the new album. “Well, I wrote ‘My Life Would Suck Without You’ for the last album, so we’re trying to take it up a level,” Kelly said. “She’s toured the world with that album. She’s experienced stuff, so whatever she’s going through right now: fun, good, the bad, the ugly — we want to put on that record.” What type of sound are you hoping to hear on Kelly’s new album? Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson Belt Out Aretha Franklin Grammy Tribute

Martina McBride, Florence Welch and Yolanda Adams also grab solos before a special message from the Queen of Soul. By Aly Semigran Martina McBride, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson and Florence Welch perform during the 53rd annual Grammy Awards Photo: CBS At the 2011 Grammy Awards , sisters were doing it for each other. While the legendary Aretha Franklin may not have been able to attend (the 68-year-old singer underwent surgery in late 2010), some of today’s fiercest female vocalists came together to pay tribute to the Queen of Soul. Introduced by LL Cool J, a diverse quintet of “musical princesses” composed of Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson, Martina McBride, Florence Welch and Yolanda Adams, opened the Grammy ceremony with a medley of Franklin tunes, kicking things off with the timeless “(You Me Make Feel Like A) Natural Woman,” which they all sang on together. Check out pictures from the Grammy show here. From there on, each powerhouse performer did her own solo as the other four provided backup harmonies, all while images of the indelible Franklin appeared in the background. Aguilera, fresh off last weekend’s now-notorious Super Bowl national anthem mishap, didn’t miss a beat (or lyric, for that matter) of Franklin’s “Ain’t No Way,” which segued to country superstar McBride’s cover of “Until You Come Back to Me.” Welch, whose band Florence and the Machine are vying for Best New Artist this year, took over the duties of singing the classic “Think (Freedom).” Then Hudson belted out the unrequited feminism anthem “Respect.” Adams brought her gospel sound to the song “Spirit in the Dark” before all five women closed out with “Sisters Are Doing It for Themselves,” bringing the Grammy crowd to their feet. After the performance, Franklin appeared via a video message in which she thanked Aguilera, Hudson, McBride, Welch and Adams, telling them, “I love you all.” Standing before a piano in a white dress, the still-recovering Franklin went on to thank Clive Davis, Grammy producer Ken Ehrlich, and all the well-wishers who sent her cards, flowers and “most, importantly, your prayers.” “I wish I could have been there with all of you tonight,” Franklin said, adding she hoped to be in attendance next year. After wishing the 2011 Grammy nominees good luck, Franklin concluded, “Thank you so much. I love you all. Have a good evening.” For Grammy Awards winners list, analysis, interviews, fashion and more, stick with MTV News during the big show and beyond.
