Ariana Grande Pays Moving Tribute to Mac Miller

Ariana Grande has broken her silence in response to her former boyfriend Mac Miller’s shocking death Friday at the age of 26. One day after Miller was found dead inside his home of a suspected overdose, the singer has acknowledged her ex’s passing. Grande and Miller dated for about two years, breaking up in May, just a couple of months before Miller would pass away. According to sources at the time, the rapper’s substance abuse problem was a sigificant reason that Grande was forced to finally end the romance, which had become highly toxic and unhealthy for her. Because lots of people on the Internet are awful, some trolls attacked Grande on Instagram Friday evening because they: Actually blamed Ariana for Miller’s overdose . Wondered why she had not yet commented on his passing. Like we said, lots of people on the Internet are awful. On Saturday afternoon, however, Grande did share the above photo of Miller on her official social media page. She did not include a caption along with it. Within an hour of going live, though, the black, white and simple but profound tribute has garnered over 3.6 million Likes. That says more than any words could. About a week after Miller and Grande split, the former was arrested for drunk driving after he got into a very serious car accident. Grande responded by telling Mac to “Pls take care of yourself,” and she then clapped back hard at anyone who blamed her then as well for Miller’s personal issues. “I am not a babysitter or a mother and no woman should feel that they need to be,” she tweeted this spring, adding: “I have cared for him and tried to support his sobriety & prayed for his balance for years.” “Of course I didn’t share about how hard or scary it was while it was happening but it was.” Miller was also in Manchester last year when a terrorist killed 22 people at one of Grande’s concerts . These two had been through a lot prior to Mac’s death. The day Grande and Miller broke up , Ariana wrote the following on Instagram: Hi! This is one of my best friends in the whole world and favorite people on the planet malcolm mccormick. I respect and adore him endlessly and am grateful to have him in my life in any form, at all times regardless of how our relationship changes or what the universe holds for each of us! Ariana continued: Unconditional love is not selfish. It is wanting the best for that person even if at the moment, it’s not you. I can’t wait to know and support you forever and i’m so proud of you!! Elsewhere, another of Miller’s ex-girlfriends, Nomi Leasure, has spoken out on his death… and his life. “So grateful we had our final moment. Our clarity, clearing of the air. You changed my life. I, yours. The residual effects of your passion ripple on. You are not gone. Mac Miller Tribute: See What the Rapper’s Mom Just Shared

Mac Miller’s mother has shared a beautiful tribute to her late son. Days after the rapper was shockingly found dead at the age of 26 , due to a suspected drug overdose, Karen Meyers has shared a very simple, albeit very telling and special, picture of her child. You can see it here: In the picture uploaded to Instagram, Meyers and her son (whose real name was Malcolm McCormick) are smiling together at a Pittsburgh Pirates baseball game. It’s unclear when the snapshot was taken. But it’s evident why this one was used by Karen to pay tribute to the late rapper. As you can see, Miller is leaning his head against his mom’s and making a funny face; she captioned the photo with a broken heart emoji. And she did so not long after Ariana Grande posted a similar tribute to her long-time boyfriend, a couple months after the stars split and about 48 hours after Miller was found dead. This is the photo Grande shared on social media: She did not pen a caption with it. Miller battled substance abuse issues for years prior to his passing. He was frequently open his addiction, just as Grande was open about the fact that Miller’s problems played a significant role in a relationship that eventually became too “toxic” for her to remain a part of. In the wake of Miller’s overdose, a handful of terrible Internet users dared to blame Grande for Miller’s fatal actions . They also wondered why Ariana did not immediately wrote anything online in response to the tragedy. As if it’s any of their business and as if we should ever judge anyone about how they mourn a loved one. On Friday evening, Miller’s family released a statement about the 26-year old’s death. It reads: “Malcolm McCormick, known and adored by fans as Mac Miller, has tragically passed away at the age of 26. He was a bright light in this world for his family, friends and fans. Thank you for your prayers. “Please respect our privacy. There are no further details as to the cause of his death at this time.” An endless array of musicians have since shared their own thoughts about Miller’s passing, but we’re going to note John Mayer’s message below. The artist only just posted it to Instagram late Saturday night and it stands out for its lengthy and personal nature. This is what Mayer wrote about Miller: This was going to be Mac Miller’s year. He made a quantum leap in his music. That’s incredibly hard to do, to evolve and get better and more focused while your career is already underway. You don’t get there without a lot of work, and Mac had put the work in. I didn’t expect to play on his album the day he played some songs for me at his house, but when I heard “Small Worlds,” I gave it a short, chirpy little “yup,” which is the highest praise I can give a track. It means we don’t need to say another word, it’s going down. I grabbed the nearest guitar in the room and within a couple of hours we had finished a tune that made me so incredibly happy to have a part in, not to mention we established a nice little friendship. He was so funny I just kind of stopped typing “LOL” back in our texts. Mac was, to me, on permanent LOL status. I gave him whatever guidance I thought I had the right to, having been through the press ringer in the past and wanting him to understand that none of that noise could ever really take a bite out of the music he was about to put out. The last time I saw him, he was playing Hotel Cafe’ in Los Angeles for a crowd of 100 people. He was nervous, and honest about it with the audience. I thought that was so endearing, especially seeing as he would go on to play one of the best sets I’d seen in a very long time. His band was unreal. You gotta know that if you weren’t familiar with Mac Miller, you were about to be, whether you would have seen him at a festival, or a friend was going to catch a show and tell everyone they knew about it (like I did.) Mac put in the work. He made his best album and formed the band that was weeks away from becoming a breakout live sensation. Believe me when I say that. Ariana Grande: My First Kiss With Pete Davidson Was So F–king Epic!

Pete Davidson has been pretty blunt about how he’s always horny for Ariana Grande . But there’s more to these two than sexual chemistry and a major height difference. Now, Ariana is speaking about their first kiss, and sharing some surprising details. More than once, Ariana has destroyed claims that she cheated on Mac Miller . To those conspiracy theorists, she and Pete secretly hooked up years ago. In real life, though, Ariana’s relationship with Pete began in late May — and now, speaking on Nicki MInaj’s Queen Radio , Ariana describes their first kiss. “It was sick,” Ariana gushes. “It was so dope!” Ariana gives a little more detail about the kiss, and even before their lips touched, she says, “It was so cute.” She reveals: “He asked me for permission to kiss me!” Asking for consent before your first kiss is not only cute, it’s a good sign. What’s the opposite of a red flag when it comes to dating? “It’s kind of complicated,” Ariana says. “Because it wasn’t too naughty of a kiss.” Naughty kiss sounds like a goofy British euphamism akin to  sweep the special chimney , but clearly she just means that it was an emotionally charged but relatively chaste kiss. Ariana then struggles to describe the passion between them, saying: “But it was like … there was so much … in there, you know?” Go ahead, get all of the jokes about Ariana’s phrasing here and  Pete Davidson’s impressive dong out of your system. We’ll wait. Ariana meant that there was so much emotional significance  in their kiss . “It was really sweet,” Ariana continues to gush. She says that, lack of naughtiness aside, it was a huge turn-on. “But,” Ariana dishes. “It was also really sexy.” Though a lot of people have wanted to keep seeing Ariana as young and innocent, she’s been a grown woman for years, even if she’s still the height of a fourth grader. Ariana has made very adult nature very, very clear in her music, interviews, and music videos. Ariana also shares that, kissing aside, she loves her engagement to Pete. “We have a lot of fun,” she shares. The two of them just click with each other and have similar sense of humor on top of all of that infamous sexual chemistry. “He’s like my best friend …” Ariana affirms. In terms of their overall relationship, which is still just a few months old, she reveals: “it gets better every day.” Ariana continues to gush about Pete, saying that they seem to mirror each other. “We’re the boy-girl version of each other,” Ariana explains. Of course, physically speaking, they’re more like fun house mirror versions of each other. Ariana resorts to hyperbole, saying: “He’s, like, 70 feet tall, and I’m 4 inches tall!” That’s not the literal case, of course, but Pete does have a good 15 inchest on Ariana’s 5-foot-0. And that’s not counting his penis. There is statistical evidence that suggests that their height difference might help Pete and Ariana’s relationship last . If we had to guess, we’d say that this famous first kiss took place on, like, May 20th at the Billboard Music Awards, or within the next few days. Maybe, like, the day before. This Year’s MTV VMAs Were Reportedly The Least Watched In History

Patricia Schlein/WENN.com MTV VMA Viewership Hits Record Low Despite all the chatter that’s popped up since the VMAs took place on Monday night…apparently, none of y’all were really watching it. Ratings numbers for the 2018 ceremony have rolled in, and it’s not looking too good for the award show out here. According to Complex , the show pulled in record low audience viewership for the network. Despite boasting performances from Travis Scott, Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande, and Jennifer Lopez to name a few, the show didn’t quite garner interest from viewers, only 2.25 million of which tuned in on MTV. Another 5.234 million tuned in on Vh1, BET, MTV2, and 8 other Viacom-owned channels where the show was broadcast live. So, overall, a total of only 7.484 million overall… which doesn’t even rival a viewing of HBO’s Game of Thrones . We guess they’ll need to up the star power or something next year…because it seems that no one is really interested anymore… Getty

Last night, Ariana Grande performed at the VMAs and I managed to get the best parts on GIF. The actual performance video which keeps getting taken down is awful. It’s such a shame because she is such a cutie. If only her music was tolerable. I know kids love her, but let’s be honest she is a Christina Aguilera clone and it’s like listening to nails on a chalkboard.

Aretha Franklin Dies; Legendary Singer was 76

Aretha Franklin, one of the most successful and influential solo artists in music history, died on Thursday morning after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was 76 years old. A number of reporters and outlets had warned the public ahead of time that Franklin’s time was sadly near , as multiple sources confirmed over the weekend that the legendary artist was gravely ill. She ended up passing away while under hospice care in her Detroit home. She was surrounded by friends and family members at the time. In an unusual move, a tribute concert produced by Live Nation and spearheaded by Sony Music Chief Creative Officer Clive Davis, who signed Franklin to Arista Records in 1980, was actually announced prior to her passing. The event will likely be titled “Clive Davis Presents: A Tribute to Aretha Franklin” and is scheduled to be at Madison Square Garden in New York City on November 14. The legendary singer had not performed for an audience since November of 2017. “In one of the darkest moments of our lives, we are not able to find the appropriate words to express the pain in our heart. We have lost the matriarch and rock of our family,” Franklin’s family said on Thursday. Sources had said that Franklin’s weight plummeted down to 85 pounds by the time she passed away. Ahead of scheduled concerts in March and April of this year, the singer was forced to cancel the performances under doctor’s orders. Dubbed The Queen of Soul decades ago, Franklin has been cited by contemporary superstars such as Beyonce and Mariah Carey as being a major influence and role model. ( UPDATE : The singer’s publicist confirmed this news to the Associated Press and said Franklin died of advanced pancreatic cancer.) Her rundown of achievements is almost too long to list in one place. But we’ll give it a shot… – Franklin was nominated for 44 Grammy Wwards. – She won 18 Grammy Awards over the course of her career. – This figure represents the third-most Grammys ever won by an individual. – From 1968 through 1975, she won the Grammy Award for Best R&B Vocal Performance every single year. – Along with her most well-known song, “Respect,” the singer shot to fame with hits including “Natural Woman,” “I Say A Little Prayer” and “Chain of Fools,” many of which remain relevant today. – Franklin was the first woman to be inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. – She was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President George W. Bush in 2005. – In 2010, she was named in the greatest singer of all time by Rolling Stone.  Yes, of ALL TIME. Says it all, doesn’t it? Selena Gomez Teases "Very Honest" New Album!

Selena Gomez is so much more than the queen of Instagram .  In the video that we have included with this post, Selena confirms that her new album is in the works, though it's not quite finished yet. She even teases some details about her new songs. This is, if you'll pardon our pun, music to the ears of fans. Across multiple videos on Instagram, including some guest appearances with friends, Selena confirmed that she's working on a new album. This will be a follow-up to Revival , which debuted in 2015. Selena teases a few details about the nature of the album. “It’s very honest,” Selena says. “But playful.” “And,” Selena continues. “I felt like creatively it is in a really great direction,” Selena discusses the inspiration for this album. “I just wanted it to feel like what is going on in my head,” she admits. “Which,” Selena admits. “Was a lot.” Revival came on the heels of her revelation that she had been undergoing chemo as part of her battle with Lupus. Since then, Selena has undergone a life-saving kidney transplant. We imagine that she has no shortage of personal inspiration for her music. For many artists, art is how they process and cope. As you will see in the video that we have included, Selena's friend shoots down her efforts to reveal more about the album. The friend even refuses to name a track from it, despite Selena's emphatic permission to do so. “I’m just so anxious because I want to play my music,” Selena admits. Selenators, of course, are also very eager to hear it. Selena tells her fans and followers: “I can’t wait for you guys to hear it.” She is usure of how to describe some of her music without revealing too much. Her friend Raquelle says: “I like the fun ones that we can dance to.” Plenty of Selenators agree, but you don't need to have listened to Selena's new, unfinishe album to know that. That describes a lot of good music that Selena has produced over the years. “I’m just anticipating like what,” Selena says. “I don’t know what people are going to think.” “Like,” Selena says, voicing her concerns. “Do you think they are going to think it is the same thing?” That anxiety sounds very normal for any artist. Obviously, we're all incredibly pumped about Ariana Grande's Sweetener dropping on Thursday night. But contrary to what some hardcore fans — both Selenators and Arianators — seem to believe, it is possible and even ideal to enjoy music by both artists. Selena has dropped a couple of singles since Revival , but as much as we enjoy “Wolves,” having a whole album to consume will be a lot of fun. Selena, who just turned 26 in July, has produced some bops over the years — from “Naturally” to “Stars Dance” to “Kill 'Em With Kindness.” We can barely contain our excitement for whatever she comes up with next. Selena is one of the most talented singers in human history.
