If you’re a criminal on the run, it’s probably not a good idea to call AAA when in need… Via WMUR 9: A phone call to AAA helped police catch a pair of burglary suspects. Gilford police said two people stole jewelry and other items from a home on Foxborough Drive last month. Evidence led police to believe the suspects’ car got stuck in a ditch, and a tow truck was called to pull them out. A tow company confirmed it responded to a AAA call that night, leading police to the car. Gordon Potter, who is now in state prison on another case, faces a burglary charge. Kerry Duggan will be arraigned Thursday morning on a burglary charge.
We’re starting to see a disturbing pattern here. Just days after a Canadian teen was taken off life support after attempting suicide following bullying by classmates who shared viral photos of a sex attack on her, arrests have been made in a similar case in Florida. Via Mercury News reports : Three 16-year-old boys were arrested Thursday in the sexual battery of an intoxicated and unconscious 15-year-old Saratoga High School student, who killed herself last fall after photos of the assault went viral. When digital photos showing what had happened “spread like wildfire,” the aftermath was so humiliating and torturous the gifted and well-loved Audrie Pott could no longer take it, said Robert Allard, the attorney for her family. “Poor Audrie was terrorized by cyberbullying,” Allard said. She posted on Facebook, calling it the “worst day in her life,” a life she now wanted to end — which she did Sept. 10, eight days after the assault. Allard said Thursday that Audrie’s familys having mixed emotions about the arrests of the three Saratoga High students, including one who has since transferred to Christopher High in Gilroy. “The wound is still very raw,” he said. “They want to feel as if justice will be done after these kids were arrested, seven months after acting as if nothing had happened. But at the same time it’s a reminder that Audrie is gone.” According to Santa Clara County sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Jose Cardoza, the boys were booked into juvenile hall on two felony and one misdemeanor count each after authorities received information from school resource officers at Audrie’s school. Their names are being withheld because they are juveniles. Allard said Audrie’s parents hope they won’t be treated as juveniles in court. Victims of sexual assault are not normally identified by name or photo, but in this case, Pott’s family wanted her name and case known, Allard said. They want their beloved daughter’s case to become a model for a law bearing her name. “Audrie’s Law would address some of the things that happened here,” Allard said. “There are two common elements here that are being repeated across the country — sexual assault by an adolescent and the cyberbullying that follows.” Allard said nearly all children have cellphones, each one a potential tool for defamation. “They are all capable of instantly spreading information into the community in the most volatile ways,” he said. The power of pressing a button is immense.” Audrie’s parents and stepmother, who asked for privacy until a Tuesday news conference, started a foundation aimed at providing kids with music and art scholarships — two of the great loves in their daughter’s life. The Audrie Pott foundation, at audriepottfoundation.com, also offers youth counseling and support. Allard said the sexual assault happened when Audrie went to a party hosted by a sophomore girl from her school. The student’s parents were out of town in Napa, and she invited friends over. “You know how that goes: word gets out and then there were 10 to 15 kids there.” He said Audrie had been there early, and by the time others arrived later she was already passed out. “It was one of those things where she was thinking that she was safe and secure but she was not,” he said. “She was in the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong people.” At the Tuesday conference, Allard said they will reveal more about the case as well as a civil suit that is in the works. Allard would not specify the defendant named in that litigation. Los Gatos-Saratoga school district officials stated that their “sympathies go out to all of the families affected by this tragic situation.” “We are cooperating with law enforcement as they continue to look into the details of this case,” Superintendent Bob Mistele wrote in an email to this newspaper. “Collaborating with our parents, students, staff and community we will continue to work diligently to maintain a positive climate at our high schools based on respect, responsibility, and open communication that discourages cyber bullying and inappropriate conduct.” What has gotten into these kids? Steubenville was not a one off! We have to do a better job of raising our kids to understand that forced sex is not okay, group sex is not okay, cyber-bullying is not okay and suicide is never the answer. What do you think is most to blame? Our overly sexualized society? Absentee parents? AP
Drizzy really truly ain’t isht. The fallout from Breezy and Drake’s bottle hurling brawl at W.i.P. last summer continues, and now Chris Brown’s bodyguard is confirming previous rumors that Drake started the fight by sending Breeze bottle service along with a note boasting about bussing down RihRih. Via NYDaily News reports : Chris Brown’s beefy bodyguard is suing Drake and the SoHo nightclub where the hip-hop stars brawled last June, and used filing as an opportunity to take a swipe at the Canadian rapper. Hired muscle Patrick Strickland snidely refers to Drake as “a popular and successful, albeit critically derided, entertainer,” in his lawsuit filed Monday in Manhattan Supreme Court. Strickland, 43, who hails from Queens Village, claims the hot spot, W.i.P., is responsible for the ugly head cut he suffered during the melee because it sat Brown’s entourage and Drake’s crew near each other, even though staffers knew the celebrities were beefing over sultry R&B songstress Rihanna. The seating arrangement created “a substantial and unjustifiable risk that a mass altercation would occur between the two camps,” the suit for an unspecified amount of damages states. Moreover, the club over-served Drake and his posse, and had an employee hand Brown a note from Drake that read: “I’m f–king the love of your life,” according to the Strickland suit. The note allegedly led to a “verbal altercation” and that caused a “massive bar brawl that involved bottle throwing, possible gunshots and a general state of riot and disorder,” the suit charges. Strickland was hit in the head and required stitches, reports said at the time. The suit says he endured “severe and disfiguring injuries to his face, head and eyes.” SMH @ the waffle-toned rapper beef saga. Does this change your opinion of Drake? And does Big Pat deserve a big payout? They did dice up his forehead something serious. Hit the flip for the reminder photo if you’re not squeamish about blood.
Mm-mm-good Orlando Man Arrested For Stealing $75,000 Worth Of Soup Via NBCNews A 51-year-old Orlando man was arrested on charges that he stole a tractor trailer containing $75,000 worth of soup, authorities said. Eusebio Diaz Acosta, 51, faces charges of grand theft of cargo worth $50,000 or more and grand theft of a motor vehicle following his arrest early Sunday on the Florida’s Turnpike, according to authorities. Broward Circuit Judge John Hurley called the facts of the case “very unusual.” “This is the first time the court’s ever seen $75,000 worth of soup stolen,” Hurley said Monday, as he set Diaz Acosta’s bond at $25,000. The Florida Highway Patrol said that it received a report of a stolen tractor trailer hauling soup that was being tracked by GPS, and the tractor trailer driven by Diaz Acosta was pulled over at the 63-mile marker of the turnpike in Tamarac. After day 1 he’ll wish he were dead. Atlanta Serial Sexual Attacker Sentenced To 8 Life Sentences Plus 130 Years Via AJC A convicted DeKalb County serial rapist was sentenced to 375 years in prison. Gary Wendale Mincey, 36, won’t be eligible for parole and will die in prison for raping or attempting to rape five women during a six-week period in the fall of 2011. “These women’s lives have forever been changed by the heinous acts of a serial rapist,” said DeKalb County Chief Assistant District Attorney Nicole Marchand Golden. “We hope this guilty verdict and sentence will bring some form of relief to each one of our victims and (their) loved ones. There is a monster who no longer roams the streets of DeKalb County.” Last month, a DeKalb County jury found Mincey guilty of all 17 charges against him – rape, sodomy, sexual battery, false imprisonment and armed robbery. On Tuesday morning, a DeKalb County Superior Court judge handed Mincey the maximum possible sentence of eight life sentences, plus 135 years. Cases like this make us REALLY wish that the U.S. believed in cruel and unusual punishment. Image via WSB-TV
Mile high should never be this gross! Utah Man Arrested For Watching Graphic Movies On Plane Via HuffPo reports: A Utah man charged with viewing kiddie adult films on a Boston-bound commercial flight won’t have to serve his jail sentence if he sticks to the terms of his probation. Prosecutors say 50-year-old Salt Lake City resident Grant Smith pleaded guilty Thursday to possessing child pornography. A Boston judge suspended Smith’s 2 1/2-year sentence and placed him on five years’ probation. Smith must continue sex offender treatment, comply with Utah sex offender registry requirements and follow restrictions on contact with children and Internet use. Prosecutors say a fellow first-class passenger saw Smith viewing pornographic computer images of young girls during a November 2011 flight. The passenger took a cellphone photo of the images and alerted a flight attendant. Smith was arrested in Boston and initially pleaded not guilty. He resigned his job as a University of Utah engineering professor. So lets get this straight… people who are caught illegally downloading movies are subject to jail time and hundreds of thousands of dollars of fines. A guy watching child movies in public doesn’t even get jail time? If you get caught with a gram of kush in the wrong state you can get prison time and thousands of dollars in fines. Child adult films gets you probation?? Seriously? Something is seriously wrong with this country.
Poor baby … Authorities in South Carolina have identified the toddler who was found abandoned on a stranger’s doorstep with a note on her diaper that read “Call DFAC” or Division of Family and Child Services, and arrested her parents. After four days of investigating, the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office said that the child is 4-year-old Zoe Brown of Marietta, Ga. Brown’s parents — 31-year-old Alonzo Brown and 37-year-old Tongela Denise McBride — were arrested Friday night on charges of unlawful neglect of a child. Chad McBride, the public information office for the Anderson County Sherriff’s Office, said that having the girl’s story shared through social media and the news media helped lead to the discovery of the toddler’s identify and the arrest of her parents. According to Chad McBride, who is not related to Denise McBride, posts on the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page featuring Zoe Brown’s picture were shared more than 2 million times. “Just putting the story out there and all over the country, it was the media that led to the individuals that called us,” McBride said. “For a couple days we didn’t have anything.” Zoe Brown was found on a resident’s doorstep late Tuesday night in her stroller wearing a shirt adorned with the phrase “Auntie Loves Me.” Roy Campbell, the home’s owner, told the Independent Mail newspaper of Anderson that he found Zoe Brown after he heard the doorbell ring, but didn’t see anyone at the door. “I heard the neighbor’s dogs barking so I went around the back of the house to see if they might have gone there,” Campbell told the Independent Mail. “When I didn’t see anyone, I went back to the front door and noticed that there was a baby in the stroller.” After Campbell found the girl, the police were immediately called and she was taken to a local hospital where doctors determined she was in good health, authorities said. Although she is 4 years old, Zoe Brown wears clothes made for a 24-month-old and has scars on her chest and neck that are consistent with past heart surgery, McBride said. The girl is currently in a foster home under the care of the South Carolina Department of Social Services. McBride said she will remain there until the DSS can determine whether there is a family member who can provide her with a safe environment. We hope they find a home and a family who can love little Zoe unconditionally like she deserves. Clearly, her ain’t isht parents are not worthy.

He tried to cut and run from cops, but was hauled off to jail instead, where police say they found Meth in the back of the cruiser. On Friday, the rapper was charged with FOUR misdemeanors: two counts of DUI, one count of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of Marijuana or an open container while driving.
