Who doesn’t like a nice looking a$$?! According to NyDailyNews: Mayor Bloomberg was more focused on buns than guns at a recent holiday party, a new magazine report claims. While Hizzoner has been all over the airways pushing gun control, a New York magazine reporter says the mayor was far more interested in ogling a woman’s behind than discussing the issue at a recent holiday party. Scribe Jonathan Van Meter says a friend who accompanied him to the party made a point of thanking the mayor for his work on gun control. “Without even acknowledging the comment, Bloomberg gestured toward a woman in a very tight floor-length gown standing nearby and said, ‘Look at the ass on her,’ ” Van Meter wrote. The line appeared in Van Meter’s lengthy profile of City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, who is a frontrunner in the race to succeed Bloomberg in City Hall. Quinn is quoted in the article telling the magazine that Bloomberg has also offered sharp critiques of her own style, turning up his nose when she chooses flats over high heels or waits too long before touching up her red hair. She said of Bloomberg, “he’s got a potty mouth.” She also said that she has a “good relationship” with him. Nice. SMH. WENN

Don’t we already have enough guns in the black community??? Pro-Gun Activists Begin “What Would D’Jango Do?” To Promote Guns Ownership Among Blacks Quentin Tarantino is on record blaming firearms for recent mass killings in Newtown, Conn., and elsewhere. So it might come as a surprise to him that a pro-gun group is invoking the director’s current film, Django Unchained, in an effort to woo African-Americans to their side in the debate over gun control. The group is called Political Media, and it’s the same entity that was behind Saturday’s controversial Gun Appreciation Day, which encouraged Americans to show up at various places with a copy of the U.S. Constitution and signs reading, “Hands off my guns.” Larry Ward, president of Political Media, a company that designs websites and organizes ad campaigns for right-of-center organizations, said hundreds of thousands of people participated in Gun Appreciation Day, crowding gun stores and gun shows and demonstrating at various state capitals nationwide. He’s hoping for similar success with his follow-up effort, dubbed “What Would Django Do?” Ward plans not only a campaign but a nonprofit organization that would bear the name, though he acknowledges he hasn’t sought permission from Tarantino or from The Weinstein Co., the studio behind Django Unchained. “We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it,” Ward said. “We’ll make sure we aren’t violating copyrights, and if we are, we’ll have to change the name. But Django is perfect for what we’re trying to do, which is to promote gun rights to minorities. We’ll tackle the issue on the Democrats’ own turf.” While they are waiting for that bridge, we’re trying to figure out what the HELL makes them think that his campaign is a good idea?! Ward calls his new effort What Would Django Do? because of an opinion column by Jonathan David Farley at AbsoluteRights.com, which was reprinted at GunAppreciationDay.com. Ward is partnering on What Would Django Do? with Farley, a principal at The Warren Group, which helps to advance “progressive” causes, putting Farley at odds with his colleagues when it comes to gun control (The Warren Group is not involved in What Would Django Do?) In his article, called What Would Django Do? Arms and ‘The Man,’ Farley pores through history in support of his idea that blacks should shun gun control, citing such people as Ida B. Wells-Barnett, a black author who wrote Southern Horrors: Lynch Law in All Its Phases. Farley writes: “Wells, who, like me, had to flee Klan supporters in Tennessee after writing a newspaper article, said that ‘a Winchester rifle should have a place of honor in every black home.’ ” Farley also notes that Martin Luther King Jr. applied for a gun permit, but pro-segregation authorities denied him, and he says influential black Americans like Frederick Douglass and Malcolm X argued in favor of the Second Amendment. Slavery in America wouldn’t have existed if blacks were armed, he argues, and in the article he notes that when a Negro Rifle Club was to be organized in Cleveland during the Civil Rights Movement, local racists rioted, even killing a man with a bulldozer. Lindsay Lohan was a complete mess on the set of The Canyons over the summer – even by her standards – according to a writer embedded in the indie production. Stephen Rodrick, who says he was allowed to chronicle the project, says he saw a seemingly drunk LiLo get in her car and drive off set after a boozing session. According to Rodrick, Lohan was out of control , acting like an utter disaster and initially fired from The Canyons after blowing off two days of filming. Rodrick says Lohan showed up outside the director’s hotel room, pounding on the door, hysterically crying and begging for her job back – for 90 MINUTES. Eventually, she was hired back … but things only got worse . Lohan began constantly criticizing producers and her co-stars, and got drunk before shooting a scene in which she would be simulating a four-way sex scene. After the scene, which featured real-life porn stars, producers offered Lindsay a hired car to drive her home … but she refused and drove off in her Porsche. According to Rodrick, whose report was publicized by TMZ this afternoon, producers “all hoped they would still have a lead actress in the morning.” In the article, Rodrick says Lindsay Lohan freaked about another sex scene in which she was supposed to get naked … and locked herself in a closet. Rodrick says the director had to beg her to do the scene and even stripped naked himself and had the crew do the same to show her it was no big deal. The gimmick worked, and Lohan filmed the 14-minute sex scene. Unfortunately, the hits just kept on coming, however. Lindsay partied with Lady Gaga one night until 5:30 a.m., when she had a 6:00 a.m. call time. She showed up at 9 a.m., but left soon after a doctor said she was too sick to film. Despite the fact that Princess Leia is every bit as iconic as Luke Skywalker and Han Solo , the fact remains that the entire Star Wars series has a total of five women with speaking roles, and only three of them — Padme/Amidala, Leia, and Anakin’s mother — count as major characters. It’s no wonder then, that Anakin had to be conceived by the Force itself, since apparently, there aren’t enough women in the Star Wars galaxy to populate a trailer park, much less a multi-planet republic, by normal means. But could the force finally be with the double-X chromosome squad for a change? If a cryptic tweet from Slashfilm ‘s Peter Sciretta hasn’t been misunderstood, the answer is a solid “possibly”! ‘Star Wars Episode 7’ Plot Possibilities Now obviously, we’re still very much in early speculation mode for Star Wars Episode VII . Will it be burping- and Jar Jar-free? Will it be based in-part on the Expanded Universe? Will we see aging stoner Harrison Ford playing an elderly Han Solo, like The Dude ? Who knows?! But speculation is the fuel on which the Internet runs, so far be it for me to say anything other than ‘yes, all those things will be true.’ The biggest mystery is, of course, just who the new films are going to be about. Everything, from the children of our original heroes, to the further adventures of Geriatric Luke, has been baselessly suggested, but Disney is keeping mum for now. Of course, even if Disney is bringing the full power of their enormous secrets-keeping machine to bear (seriously, how did they keep the Star Wars deal a secret for so long?), now that Episode VII is almost certainly in the full flower of pre-production, tidbits are bound to come out. Enter Sciretta, who tweeted this circumspect comment Thursday afternoon: Who said the lead character in Star Wars Episode VII is going to be a male star? :)— Peter Sciretta (@slashfilm) January 03, 2013 According to a Slashfilm Star Wars round-up post by Germain Lussier on Friday morning, Sciretta asked that this tweet be added to the article, but that “he couldn’t say anymore,” which strongly suggests he knows something specific, or at least wants us to think he does. The comment could be taken in any number of ways, of course. He might simply mean they’ll be casting a relatively unknown male actor in the lead. But the fact that he felt the need to specify male, rather than leave the question of gender blank, suggests the tantalizing possibility of a female lead. And yes, the sound you hear is millions of voices, crying out, “About damned time.” As for who this character could possibly be, don’t look to the established Star Wars Expanded Universe for answers. The official canon is incredibly convoluted at best. (See for yourself here .) It’s a tiered system in which the movies, and George Lucas himself, overrides everything else. Sure, we might see fan favorite Mara Jade, or even Leia and Han’s daughter Jaina, but given that public statements suggest the new films will plot their own course, I expect a completely new character. Assuming for a moment that Episode VII will mine the Expanded Universe, who would you like to see take the postulated female lead? Let us know, and feel free to argue about continuity, in comments. I never, ever thought that I would be blessed enough to be able to say I had gotten the opportunity to meet Justin. Good things never happened to me. That all completely changed for me on October 20th, 2012. The day before that I had thought all chances of meeting Justin while he was here in Minnesota were gone. I had left the Mall of America where my friend Katelin and I were looking for him and the crew only hours before he actually did end up going. (We did meet his dancers: Johnny, Luke, Jon, Nick, and Mike though!) I had also stayed up to see if I had won the bieberfever.com contest I had entered weeks before. I soon saw that someone on Twitter had gotten an email from them saying they had won, I thought all the winners would have been notified too. I hadn’t gotten an email meaning I hadn’t won so I went to bed pretty heartbroken. The next morning I woke up early because my concert was that night and I was getting so excited. I checked my email because I had a little glimmer of hope in me that maybe by some miracle, I had won the contest after all. Much to my surprise the email above was in my inbox. I had never been so shocked before. I literally sat in my room and full on sobbed for over an hour. Fast forward to when Katelin and I were waiting in line to meet Justin. While waiting in line, Dan came out of nowhere and started talking to some people. When he was done talking to them, I went up to him and smiled and said, “Hi Dan, could I please get a picture with you?” and he replied “Yeah, two seconds let me check on my family first!” . He never ended up coming back so I tweeted him later jokingly saying that he had blown me off and the DM above is what he sent in reply! We were like 4 feet away from the curtain that led to Justin and Kenny was there so I said, “Hi Kenny!” He looked at me and smiled that gorgeous Kenny Hamilton smile and said, “Hey, how are you?!” and put his hand out to shake mine. I don’t know what I said back, but I do know I was so nervous that I wasn’t thinking right and gave him my left hand instead of my right. He saw Katelin by me and said/did the same to her. Then before I registered what was happening, the curtain opened up. It was partially open and I saw some people against a wall (Ryan Butler and his grandparents) and thought it was another line we’d have to wait in. When it opened fully and I saw Justin’s beautiful face so close to me, I went into a little state of shock. Justin Bieber, the guy I have spent so much time supporting and loving, the one who means so much to me was right there smiling and looking like an angel. Katelin rushed in really fast and got right next to him. The girl we were in a group with went on the other side of Katelin and the girls mom went over to Justin’s other side. I walked into the curtain too and assumed I was going to be next to the mom in our picture. To my surprise and absolute delight, she moved over and said something I don’t remember, but along the lines of you go next to him. As I was going into my spot between them I said, “Hi Justin!” and he said to me, “Come here sweetheart!” and had his hand out to his side waiting to put around my waist. I think my heart skipped a beat. Mike took the picture and right after Katelin said to Justin, “Can I have a hug please?” and he replied “Of course sweetie!” and he leaned in and hugged her. I asked if I could please have a hug too and he leaned over and hugged me. I blanked on everything I had planned on telling him so I stuttered the first thing I could think of out to him which was, “You’re gonna kill it tonight! I love you”. I don’t know if he didn’t hear me, or if everything was too rushed and overwhelming, but he didn’t respond. We were getting rushed out by security and I quickly said another, “I love you” before leaving the curtain. I was shaking so badly that I literally fell on my knees and face planted basically. I started crying really hard after that and kept screaming almost at Katelin about how amazing he was. Meeting Justin was the absolute best moment of my life and I am so, so grateful to have had the opportunity. My short time with him means everything to me. Don’t ever give up on trying to meet Justin. Please don’t.
