Justin Bieber Is ‘A Two Face,’ Says Chelsea Handler

Host of the 2010 VMAs is jealous of Bieb’s flirtation with Kim Kardashian By Kyle Anderson, with reporting by Jim Cantiello Chelsea Handler Photo: MTV News Though 2010 MTV Video Music Awards host Chelsea Handler likes to joke that she will have no idea who anybody is when she plays the ringmaster of the biggest party of the year on September 12, she has quite a history with a handful of the artists who will be sharing the stage with her. She says most of the hip-hop stars on the show have “slapped her ass,” and one of her more notable guests on her E! talk show “Chelsea Lately” has been with none other than Justin Bieber.

30 Seconds To Mars Plot ‘Crazy’ Entrance For 2010 VMAs

Jared Leto likens it to ‘open-heart surgery on the dance floor.’ By James Montgomery 30 Seconds To Mars Photo: MTV News You would probably think — based on, well, practically everything — that Jared Leto is not the kind of guy who likes to play things close to the vest (or studded leather jacket, or whatever). And in most instances, you’d be right. But not when it comes to 30 Seconds To Mars’ arrival at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards . Because while he’s certainly got big plans, he’s not about to reveal them just yet. “We have an entrance plan that has never, ever been done before in the history of the VMAs,” Leto told MTV News on Tuesday. “Basically, it’s like ‘Seinfeld’ but not … it’s like open-heart surgery on the dance floor, it’s like taking your eyeballs out and putting them in the opposite sockets. It’s going to be crazy.” That sounds, uh, interesting. And while we suspect he’s kidding, Leto and his 30 Seconds to Mars mates definitely have something in the works for the big show, which airs Sunday, September 12, live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles at 9 p.m. After all, 30 Seconds to Mars are nominated for four awards, including Best Rock Video and Video of the Year for their epic “Kings and Queens” clip . And so, somewhat appropriately, their grand entrance will probably be inspired by that video. Though, again, Leto isn’t about to give away any secrets. “It could, quite possibly, pay homage to the ‘Kings and Queens’ video,” he said. “We may be arriving in a way that encourages treating your planet in a better way. … We will hopefully be arriving in style, and [be doing] something different and fun and something I believe is appropriate.” So, bikes? Maybe. Though nothing is set in stone just yet … there are still backroom deals to be made and palms to be greased. Both of which, as luck would have it, are 30STM specialties. “We are plotting and planning the arrival of 30 Seconds to Mars, and hopefully, we will be appearing in a very special way, but we haven’t got the final approval [yet],” Leto smiled. “We only do behind-the-scenes campaigning. We’re into bribery and things like that.” The 27th annual MTV Video Music Awards will be broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 12, at 9 p.m. ET. Fans can go to VMA.MTV.com (or text VMA to 97979 if they are Verizon subscribers) to vote for the winners in general categories, including Best New Artist, from now through September 12. Justin Bieber Fans Hope To Squeeze Into His 3-D Movie At NYC Show

‘I’ll probably cry if I see myself,’ one die-hard says of Biebs’ upcoming flick, which is filming at Madison Square Garden concert. By Peter de Saint Phalle Justin Bieber (file) Photo: Jeffrey Ufberg/ Getty Images NEW YORK — A sea of tween girls clad in purple flooded the steps of Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night (August 31) as Justin Bieber fans made their way into the sold-out arena. It was no secret that the show was going to be a special one. Director John Chu previously revealed that much of the upcoming Justin Bieber 3-D movie would be filmed during the night’s performance. Fans traveled far and wide with hopes of making it onscreen. “Me and my friend drove from Virginia for five hours,” Erin Sweeney told MTV News. “Since I’ll see [the 3-D film] in the theaters, I’ll probably cry if I see myself.” When fans were asked whether Biebs had a shot at winning Best New Artist at the upcoming VMAs , most were pretty confident in the teen dream — especially since fan voting is involved. “Most of the fans he has are really big fans,” Bailey Solomons reasoned. “So if they vote for him, they’ll vote for him every single day, so he has a good chance.” Some Bieber enthusiasts proved you did not have to be between the ages of 8 and 18 to enjoy Bieber’s music. “Love has no age,” Amanda Farina said when asked if she had Bieber fever. “We caught it. We heard the song on the radio, and then suddenly we bought it on iTunes, and then it was a phenomenon. It doesn’t matter how old we are. We just love him.” How excited would you be to end up in Bieber’s 3-D movie? Let us know in the comments! Related Photos Justin Bieber Brings His My World Tour To NYC Related Artists Justin Bieber

‘Dancing With The Stars’ Alum Sizes Up Bristol Palin, The Situation

‘The Situation seems very disciplined,’ Niecy Nash tells MTV News of the ‘Jersey Shore’ star’s famous abs. By Kara Warner Niecy Nash at the HBO Emmy party Photo: MTV News LOS ANGELES — It’s hard to believe that it’s already time for a new season of “Dancing With the Stars,” but with Monday’s big casting announcement, the spotlight is on the new celeb steppers. The next news fans are waiting for are the celeb/pro pairings, one of which was revealed Tuesday morning (August 31) on “Good Morning America”: Bristol Palin and two-time champ Mark Ballas . MTV News caught up with last season’s sassy comic relief, Niecy Nash, who offered a few thoughts on the new castmembers — namely Palin and “Jersey Shore” standout Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino. ” ‘Dancing With the Stars’ is the hardest and most fun thing I’ve ever done,” she said. “I will tell you, for people who are untrained, it is a challenge.” Nash added that if Sorrentino’s dedication to his famous chest is any indication, he might have the stamina to stay on the show for a while. “The Situation seems very disciplined,” Nash said. “You gotta do something to get 45 abs. So maybe he has what it takes to stick with it.” Nash worried that juggling long rehearsals and taking care of baby Tripp could prove to be a challenge for Bristol. “Bristol, you know, she’s been through a lot,” Nash said of Sarah Palin’s 20-year-old daughter. “It might be hard on her. But, you know, if you could get together with Levi [Johnston], you ought to be able to do anything,” she joked. Nash added that if and when she is asked to come back to the show for a special guest dance number, she’ll do “anything where I can shake myself.” What do you think of Bristol Palin and the Situation being cast on “Dancing With the Stars”? T.I. Releasing ‘Pledge Allegiance To The Swag’ To ‘The Streets’ This Week

‘Don’t look for it on radio, but online and in the streets and in the clubs,’ rapper says. By Shaheem Reid T.I. Photo: Jamie McCarthy/ Getty Images T.I. has only gone Hollywood when it comes to films, not his music. Tinseltown’s current box-office champ says we can expect a brand-new record from his King Uncaged LP this week. He’s going to growing it from the ground up. “My next song … I’m not even sending it to radio first,” he explained Monday. “I’m going to work it from the streets to the clubs. Then as DJs ask about it, I’ll deliver it to them. I’m gonna go all the way back to grassroots. I feel that people right now feel I’m going so far over their heads, given my prior success with Paper Trail. They feel like I’m trying to leave my foundation and my demographic behind, which is far from my intention.” The King of the South’s new song should land in the next couple of days or so. “Probably this week — don’t look for it on radio, but online and in the streets and in the clubs, you can look forward to a record. A record called ‘Pledge Allegiance to the Swag,’ he added. “I’m just trying to feed the streets right now.” And the Net. Tip has a slew of viral videos dropping soon with his various Grand Hustle acts. “We just shot three videos,” T.I. said. “We just shot the Young Dro ‘Freeze Me’ video with me, him and Gucci Mane. We shot the ‘Get Your Girl’ video with me and my artist and lil’ cousin, Rich Kid Shawty [Rashad]. We shot that in Atlanta. We also shot the video for ‘Ya Hear Me?’ Those videos will be completed and surfacing online within the next week or so.” Over the weekend, T.I.’s latest film, “Takers,” grabbed the top spot in a tooth-and-nail dogfight for number one with “The Last Exorcism.” As he told us a few weeks ago, with the film being a success, a prequel to the action thriller is very likely. “I just got off the phone with the director and the writer of ‘Takers,’ he revealed. “Also with the heads of Screen Gems. We’re working on not a sequel, but the prequel to ‘Takers,’ telling how the guys came to meet one another and how the relationships developed. Pretty much telling the story before [my character] went [to jail].” Related Artists T.I.

Usher Has A History On The VMA Stage

Singer will perform — and is up for three Moonmen — at the big show, airing live Sunday, September 12. By Jocelyn Vena Usher at the 2004 MTV Video Music Awards Photo: Alberto Tamargo/Getty Images Usher will certainly have fans saying “OMG” when he hits the stage at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards , but it isn’t the first time he’s had VMA viewers shouting his lyrics. The R&B superstar got his first taste of what it was like to perform at the VMAs in Los Angeles in 1998 when he played the pre-show, taking the stage in a leather, graffiti-print jacket and leather tuxedo pants. Usher’s performance back then was incredibly low-fi, having only a few dancers behind him dressed like the ones in his “My Way” clip, which was nominated for a VMA that year.

James Cameron’s Next Movie Might Not Be ‘Avatar’ Sequel

‘I’m sort of weighing this constellation of really cool things I want to do,’ filmmaker says of next project. By Kara Warner James Cameron Photo: MTV News With the re-release of “Avatar” just days away, all the Na’vi and James Cameron news has been focused on the extra nine minutes of footage added to the original theatrical release, as well as the director’s plans for a return to Pandora via two possible sequels — one of which he said will be set in and around the oceans of the fictitious planet. When MTV News caught up with the Oscar winner, in addition to delving into a multitude of “Avatar” topics and Cameron’s current work in the real world with NASA, he revealed a newsy fact about his next film. As has been widely speculated, it might not be an “Avatar” sequel. We asked him whether “Battle Angel” or “The Dive” might be his next undertaking. “Well, they’re both possible projects,” Cameron said vaguely. “I’m sort of weighing this constellation of really cool things I want to do. There’s X-amount of time available. I do want to do another ‘Avatar’ film, probably two. I’m talking to Fox about that right now.” He then added: “There’s a strong possibility that I might insert one of these other movies in between before I do another [‘Avatar’], but it’s all up in the air.” So specific, that James Cameron. Try as we might, he would not reveal any more details. He was similarly vague when he spoke with local Los Angeles TV affiliate KTLA : “I think three years would be the minimum, probably more like four from where we’re sitting right now,” Cameron said of when audiences might expect an “Avatar” sequel. “There’s a possibility I might make another film on a different subject in the meantime, because that’s a big commitment of time for me. … I haven’t said anything about this publicly yet. It’s a film that I’ve been working on kind of on and off over the years, just the writing. It might be something that I do first, or it might be something I do after that. I haven’t really mapped it all out yet. … The other idea that I have is more of a live-action film.” While Cameron cleverly avoids spilling any real secrets, he leaves us to ponder his next move. What do you think Cameron’s next project will be? Discuss it in the comments below.
