Lindsay Lohan ‘Is Still A Train Wreck,’ Perez Hilton Says

‘You would think she would learn her lessons by now, but she clearly hasn’t,’ gossip blogger shares. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Matt Elias Lindsay Lohan Photo: David McNew/ Getty Images Despite remaining relatively low-key since Tuesday’s sentencing, it may be too little too late for Lindsay Lohan , according to one opinionated gossip blogger. Perez Hilton says that unlike many starlets who have seen their fair share of trouble with the law over the last few years, Lohan seems to be the only one who can’t keep herself out of trouble. And while she’s managed to avoid the club scene all this week, instead opting to hang out with Kim Kardashian at home and go to an art store with her family, according to E! Online, Hilton says that now is the time for Lohan to give up her “train wreck” ways. “Right after she was forced to wear that alcohol-monitoring bracelet [earlier this year], she did cut back on the partying a little bit, for about a week or a week and half,” Hilton told MTV News. “But even after having the alcohol-monitoring bracelet placed on her, Lindsay continued to go out and party repeatedly.” Case in point was only this past June when Lohan walked the red carpet at the MTV Movie Awards . “Lindsay even showed up to the MTV Movie Awards. Was it necessary for her to go to that? No! Was she promoting any movie? No! Why was she there?” Hilton wondered about the star, who he has previously suggested has been sentenced fairly for her crime. And while he questions her behavior, he wonders if she can follow in the “clean up your act” footsteps taken by some of her peers. “A lot of the things Lindsay’s done [over the years] just make you want to scratch your head. You would think she would learn her lessons by now, but she clearly hasn’t,” Hilton said. “You look back on the year 2007 when Lindsay got into major trouble — which resulted in all the recent trouble — back in 2007 both Paris Hilton and Britney Spears were also kind of out of control. [But now] they have their acts together. They’ve matured and grown up. Lindsay, on the other hand, is still a train wreck.” Related Photos Lindsay Lohan Goes To Court The Highs And Lows Of Lindsay Lohan Related Artists Lindsay Lohan

Fat Joe Calls Sexual-Assault Allegations ‘Shocking’

‘It’s one of the worst things you could have your name affiliated with,’ MC says of allegations. By Shaheem Reid Fat Joe Photo: MTV News Fat Joe said that when he was accused of sexual assault , it was one of the “ugliest” things anyone could have said about him. Last month, Joe and members of his crew were questioned by police after a woman claimed to be inappropriately touched while in Joe’s limo in Madison, Wisconsin. A spokesperson for the Madison police confirmed to MTV News on Friday (July 9) that the complaint against Joe has been withdrawn. “What happens is, you know its ugly,” Joe told MTV News earlier this week. “It’s one of the worst things you could have your name affiliated with. There was a young lady and she was talking to my man. But I never even said hello to the girl. Nothing. Next thing I know, cops was knocking on my [hotel] door.” Joe says he was astonished when he learned of the allegations. “I was like, ‘This is shocking to me,’ ” he recalled. “It was an ugly case. The girl said somebody fondled her. I was like, ‘This is like magic, ’cause I don’t know what y’all talking about.’ I got back [to New York], it was a rumor, ‘Oh, he talked to cops.’ That’s ugly. But I know it would be cleared. It got cleared the next day. It’s disgusting to get your name dragged through the mud for something like that. I didn’t even say hello. I had no contact with this person. It was crazy.” Joe added that no one in his circle questioned his innocence. “They already knew. The texts I was getting, the people was like, ‘Yo, my man. We know better than this.’ I didn’t have nobody like, ‘Really?’ ” Related Artists Fat Joe

Lady Gaga Fans Display Their Monster Finery Before ‘Today’ Show

From cigarette glasses to studded bustiers, the costumes at Rockefeller Plaza would make the Haus of Gaga proud. By Nuzhat Naoreen, with additional reporting by Kimberly Reynolds Lady Gaga fan at the “Today” show on Friday Photo: Nuzhat Naoreen/ MTV News NEW YORK — The heat wave was still lingering in the city, but that didn’t stop devoted Lady Gaga fans from getting decked out in their most inspired looks before waiting overnight in Rockefeller Plaza to see their idol perform for the “Today” show on Friday morning (July 9). From a sea of blond wigs, to dangerously high heels, the Gaga footprint was everywhere. Some fans rocked styles straight from her music videos as a tribute to the pop princess. Others took to a cue from Gaga’s unique sense of style to put together original eye-catching outfits. “Telephone” seemed to be the biggest inspiration of the night. MTV News caught sight of fans who had soda-can rollers tucked in their hair and glasses made out of fake cigarettes as a nod to Gaga’s looks in the video. Some little monsters wore lacy leggings and studded tops, and many wrapped yellow caution tape around themselves. Then there were the fans who got even more creative. One woman bought a strapless dress and adorned it with yellow flowers, while another used a piece of pleather to make an outfit. A lot of fans also relied on great accessories. A young woman, wearing a short, bright-red jumpsuit glued metallic rocks onto the side of her sunglasses, and her look was so Gaga-like that many fans stopped her for pictures. Hundreds of fans, who were perhaps not as gifted with time or sewing skills, threw on body and face paint and made special T-shirts and posters in preparation for Gaga. To get a taste of the many attention-grabbing looks in Gaga’s “Today” show audience, check out the flipbook ! Which Lady Gaga would you re-create and wear if time and skill were no matter? Lindsay Lohan Is ‘Scared To Death’ Of Jail Sentence Mom Says

‘We didn’t get a shot at fairness,’ Dina Lohan says of her daughter’s legal troubles. By Jocelyn Vena Lindsay Lohan in court on Tuesday Photo: David McNew/ Getty Images Following Michael Lohan’s interviews on CNN and Fox News about his estranged daughter’s legal woes, Lindsay’s mother, Dina, sat down with “Entertainment Tonight” for an interview airing on Friday (July 9). “[Lindsay] is scared to death,” Dina Lohan said of her daughter’s emotional state after being sentenced to 90 days in jail for probation violation. “You know, she’s strong, but until someone faces something as devastating as that … we’re going to have to see [if she can survive jail]. God willing, it won’t happen.” Lindsay and attorney Shawn Chapman Holley parted ways on Thursday, and her mother confirmed that she is currently looking for new legal counsel so that she can file an appeal. “She’s a fighter, and until the final result, we’re not giving up,” Dina said. “I think it’s time we get another attorney just to see it from another light and do damage control.” At Tuesday’s hearing, Dina said that her daughter felt “completely blindsided” because she thought she had been in compliance with her parole terms. The judge ruled that Lindsay violated probation by missing her alcohol education classes, but Holley and several legal experts told MTV News that the resulting sentence seemed excessively harsh. “This is not an OJ Simpson trial, which they made it out to be,” Dina said, criticizing Judge Marsha Revel. “If she wants a trial, then make it a fair trial. I feel like Shawn [Chapman Holley], Lindsay’s [former] attorney should have stood up and said, ‘Listen, I didn’t know you were going to have witnesses.’ We would have had 10 witnesses. We didn’t get a shot. We didn’t get a shot at fairness.” Lohan described how she and her daughter are dealing with the idea that as of July 20, Lindsay will be in jail. “It’s very difficult,” she said. “We’re not sleeping well; we’re not functioning. We cry a lot and we hug a lot. She’s petrified. We all are. We’re angry. We’re disappointed in the system. “She did a really stupid thing,” Dina admitted. “Thank God she didn’t hurt anyone. … I know my daughter is clean and sober today. I know that for a fact. I’m not a doctor … and I’m not an attorney. I’m a mother. And I’m sitting here, as a mother, just worried about my child.” Do you think Dina and Michael Lohan are sincere in their interviews about Lindsay? Share your thoughts in the comments. Justin Bieber’s Colorado Fans Would Do ‘Anything’ To Meet Him

The girls at Bieber’s Thursday night show explained their creative, and sometimes scary, schemes. By MTV News staff Justin Bieber (file) Photo: Getty Images Justin Bieber ‘s fans love him. They love his music, his hair and, well, everything about the 16-year-old teen sensation. And as much as he’s expressed his devotion back to them from the stage, on Twitter and in interviews, the dedicated teen and tween girls who watch his every move would certainly like to get a little closer to him. MTV News caught up with fans outside Bieber’s show at the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado, to find out the lengths they would go to meet the one and only Canadian pop star, and the answers were surprisingly varied and detailed. “I would do anything. I would tackle anyone for him. I love that kid,” on fan shared. Her friend added fearlessly, “I would tackle his bodyguard.” Another young fan said, “If I was in the front row then I would probably go onstage, and I wouldn’t care if security grabbed me.” Some girls were more innocent with their plans to meet Bieber — “I would run up on stage and kiss him” — and others got more creative: “I would make a video of me and put it on YouTube, like, 5,000 times,” one fan said. And then there were the more stalker-ish schemes. “I would break my leg! I don’t know,” one girl suggested. “I would do anything. I would jump off the top of that building,” was another dangerous idea. “I was thinking of climbing that curtain and going down it to see him,” one teen confessed, “but I didn’t want to get in trouble.” What would you do to meet Justin Bieber? Lady Gaga Writhes Around In The Rain For ‘Today’ Show

Gaga performs a jazz standard, hits and her newest tune, ‘You and I,’ in Rockefeller Center. By Jocelyn Vena Lady Gaga performs on the “Today” show Friday Photo: Jemal Countess/Getty Images According to the hosts of the “Today” show, 18,000 to 20,000 people showed up to see Lady Gaga perform on Friday morning (July 9). And even after waiting for hours in the heat, which was finally relieved by rain during the set, the crowd didn’t seem disappointed by what their Mother Monster brought them. Gaga jazzed up Rockefeller Plaza in a sequined, all-white suit and a bra complete with sparkly crosses. She began her set with the standard “Someone to Watch Over Me,” and though she was accompanied by a full band, backup singers and dancers, the cover still displayed Gaga’s vocal abilities. She then seamlessly segued into “Bad Romance.” Sitting at her piano, Gaga said told Meredith Viera hasn’t gotten accustomed to being famous yet. “I haven’t [gotten used to it], but I love and cherish my fans so much,” she said. “I just want to say a big thank you to all of the television and radio and the underground clubs and the gay community for supporting me for the past three years. … There’s certainly things that are difficult to deal with, but the kind of fame that I cherish is the relationship I have with my fans.” When introducing her newest song, she explained the inspiration behind it. ” ‘You and I’ was written about the most important person that I’ve ever met and all my friends downtown, Lady Starlight and Brian, who’s here today playing trumpet, and all my friends, they’re so wonderful.” And though the song is more lo-fi than many of her tunes, she kept it Gaga by donning a pair of disco-ball sunglasses. After the commercial break, Gaga came out wearing a black suit and bra to sing her latest hit, “Alejandro.” In the middle of the song, she asked the crowd to “put their hands up for your gay pride.” She later shouted, “Hands up, little monsters. I love New York.” In the pouring rain, completely soaked, Gaga told the skies to “let it rain” as she belted out the last few notes of her song “Teeth.” She then crossed herself and took a bow with her backup dancers by her side. And with that Gaga ended her epic “Today Show” performance. In the hours leading up to her appearance, Gaga tweeted a message to the fans who camped out before the show. “My little monster sweeties are already camped outside today show!” she wrote. “I love u! LeBron James Heads To Miami Heat

The NBA Superstar announces long-awaited decision, saying decision to leave hometown Cleveland motivated by desire ‘to win.’ By Kelley L. Carter LeBron James announces that he will play for the Miami Heat on ESPN July 8 Photo: ESPN It was a move that will surely go down in sports history. But after a protracted wait, King James finally announced, at 9:27 p.m. ET, he’d be joining the Miami Heat. LeBron James’ decision to televise his decision became an event that seemed as if it could have been ripped from the pages of a screenplay. Sitting before ESPN cameras, the former Cleveland Cavaliers forward had millions of viewers anticipating his final choice with baited breath. “I feel like this is going to give me the best opportunity to win — and to win for multiple years. I want to be able to win championships,” he said, explaining what motivated him to venture to Miami. “This process has been everything I thought and more. I put myself in the position to have this process, where I could hear teams’ pitches and figure out what was the best possibility for me to win … and be happy,” James said during an interview before his big announcement. The 25-year-old revealed that it was a really humbling experience to be in the position he’d found himself in, as multiple teams vied for his attention. James thanked all of those teams, saying he’d made the decision earlier Thursday morning (July 8) and adding that in the preceding weeks, he often changed his mind on a day-to-day basis. “I woke up, had a great conversation with my mom, once I had that conversation with her, I was set,” he said. James is considered to be the most prized free agent in league history, and he was the last of the top free agents to announce where he’d land. The major factor in his decision, he said, was the best opportunity for him to win, both now and in the future. “Every since I was a rookie or in high school … that was the number one thing for me,” he said. “I’ve done some great things in my seven years and I want to continue to do that,” he continued about his tenure in Cleveland. The announcement comes after what felt like an eternity of a waiting period, with the two-time NBA MVP finally ending months of speculation about where he would play basketball next season. (James is only one of two players to earn the MVP accolade twice by the age of 25; Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is the other.) Diehard NBA fans and casual watchers alike had been guessing about where James would go in 2010, many since the NBA superstar signed his last contract back in 2007. Before his announcement, speculation was heavy: Would he break his hometown, Cleveland’s, heart? Would he go to Miami and join his former U.S. Olympic teammates Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh? Or would he go to New York or Chicago? Hours before the announcement on Thursday, James made an appearance at his basketball camp, arriving mid-afternoon with former teammate Damon Jones. Others in attendance included top college coaches, including Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski, North Carolina’s Roy Williams, West Virginia’s Bob Huggins and Syracuse’s Jim Boeheim. James gave his decision during an hourlong broadcast that aired live ESPN from a Boys & Girls Club in Greenwich, Connecticut. The aim of the special program, James’ said, was also to raise at least $1 million to aid James’ foundation. What do you think of LeBron’s decision to go to Miami? Did he make the right choice? Lindsay Lohan’s Lawyer Quits

Actress was sentenced to 90 days in jail two days ago. By Mawuse Ziegbe Lindsay Lohan Photo: Dave McNew/ Getty Images Lindsay Lohan’s lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley has resigned in the midst of the starlet’s ongoing legal drama. TMZ reports that when the website contacted Holley for comment Thursday (July 8), she told the site that she was no longer representing Lohan. Lohan’s New York lawyer, Stephanie Ovadia, verified the attorney’s exit. “I can confirm [Holley] is not representing Lindsay at this point,” Ovadia told the New York Daily News, adding, “Lindsay is in the process of hiring new counsel.” Holley has reportedly been replaced by lawyer Tiffany Feder-Cohen. Holley did not respond to MTV News’ requests for comment at press time, and Feder-Cohen’s office would not confirm nor deny that the lawyer is now representing Lohan. Holley’s departure is an abrupt move as the attorney was still representing Lohan Thursday morning and even released a statement to MTV News defending the troubled star. “Ms. Lohan and I are extremely disappointed in the sentence handed down by Judge Revel,” Holley said in a statement on July 8, just two days after her client was sentenced to 90 days in jail followed by 90 days in rehab . Holley also blasted the punishment handed down by Revel, insisting it is too severe. “We believe that the penalty is far harsher than what others would have received under similar circumstances.” Holley said Lohan’s ability to adhere to the terms of her probation was affected by the demands of her professional obligations. “The reality is that Ms. Lohan, like most defendants, had to balance work commitments with court requirements,” Holley continued in the statement. “To be punished so severely for doing so, particularly in light of the fact that she substantially complied with each of her probationary conditions, is harsh and unfair.” Others in the legal community have echoed Holley’s sentiments that the sentence is severe. “I think it was really harsh, especially in light of the fact that she was basically compliant as of yesterday’s court date to be done by [July] 15th,” attorney Scott Leemon told MTV News on Wednesday. “This judge just wanted to prove a point that no one messes with her in her court. I’ve had clients mess up on probation, but even when the prosecution asked for only 30 days, she gave her 90 plus 90 of inpatient? Without a doubt, this decision was made by the judge [after] she felt disrespected by Lindsay, who didn’t seem like she got the point,” said Leeman, who has represented stars such as 50 Cent and Busta Rhymes. “The fact that the court gave her three times what the people had asked for [prosecutors requested a 30-day sentence] is surprising, and in some cases you read that as a ‘celebrity tax,’ ” said Stacey Richman, who has represented Lil Wayne. However, Richman added that Judge Revel has also been generous to the star. “If she’s flaunted her probation not once, but three or four times, the judge has been very kind in giving her so many opportunities to stay with the program.” Related Photos Lindsay Lohan Goes To Court
