50 Cent Looking For New G-Unit Recruits, Including Robert Pattinson?

‘ ‘Twilight’ ain’t no joke,’ the MC tells Mixtape Daily. By Shaheem Reid, with additional reporting by Susan Younis 50 Cent Photo: MTV News The O.D.: A Mixtape Daily Exclusive It’s been a while since we had Curtis Jackson around these parts in Mixtape Daily. Our fellow Queens native has been on the road for a while, making movies and touring overseas. While hollering at our colleagues at MTV UK, Fif revealed that he wants his Black Magic album to drop before summer is over — oh, and the title has nothing to do with witchcraft. “I don’t believe in voodoo,” he said. “But it’ll be very addictive. The first time you’ll hear it, you’ll remember the songs that’s on there. It’s designed for fun — for listening pleasure. “I’m not in a hurry,” he added about the recording process and release date. “I kind of planned on releasing Black Magic … I gave myself a goal to try and put it out by the end of the summer, so I’ll work that hard on the actual project. If I don’t feel it’s ready by the end of the summer, I’ll just jeep it.” Fif is also going on tour this summer, but said members of his current G-Unit family, including Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo, most likely won’t make the trek. “It’s interesting because they probably won’t be coming with me. In the U.S., Banks has momentum with the first single off his new album, ‘Beamer, Benz or Bentley.’ So he’ll be out [on his own tour] with H.F.M. 2 (The Hunger For More 2). While he’s doing that, it probably wouldn’t make sense for Yayo to come with me because his record is almost done now — he should use that time to complete his record and release it shortly after. But I’ll be running around.” No Banks or Yayo, but Fif says he will not be alone — he’s recruiting new members to his camp now. “You’ll see new faces, because I’m looking for new artists now. I’ll sign new artists and take them with me and kinda groom them. I don’t specifically say, ‘I want this kind of artist’ — I look for talent that inspires me, that complements what I do with their own thing. Some of the stuff you can’t teach a person; they gotta have it.” While 50 didn’t name any specific prospects, but did say he wouldn’t mind adding movie heartthrob Robert Pattinson to the Unit’s fold. The star of the “Twilight” franchise (50 said he’s seen “New Moon”) has dabbled in singing in addition to his acting. “Robert Pattinson. He has a big enough following to be the frontline,” 50 laughed. ” ‘Twilight’ ain’t no joke.” What rapper or singer would you like to see join 50 Cent’s G-Unit? Let us know in the comments below! Nicki Minaj Pulls Out Of Rihanna/ Ke$ha Tour

‘I’ve decided 2 use that time 4 the completion of my album,’ Minaj tweets. By James Dinh Nicki Minaj Photo: Bryan Bedder/ Getty Images Just days after it was announced that Nicki Minaj would be joining Ke$ha as an opening act for Rihanna ‘s Last Girl on Earth Tour this summer, the Young Money rapper has decided to not participate, according to a tweet she posted on Wednesday (April 7). Late Tuesday, Minaj took to Twitter to hint at the news. “*sighs* how … how do i say this … hope the barbz [her fans] will understand … hate letting them down. *sighs again while in deep thought*,” she wrote. And on Wednesday afternoon, the rapper dropped the news . “Barbz I’m sorry 2 say I will not be going out on RiRi’s tour. I’ve decided 2 use that time 4 the completion of my album. Hope u understand,” she tweeted. At press time, reps for Minaj and Rihanna had not responded to MTV News’ requests for comment. Minaj’s decision to focus on her debut album comes at a bit of a surprise, since she told MTV News in February that she wasn’t in a rush to release the album because she felt people need to get used to seeing a female rapper again. “With the album, just like with my mixtape, I never like to rush it,” she said. “With the album, I think it’s more important that people get accustomed to seeing a female rapper again. Before I drop an album, people need to come out and see. People don’t even know what a female rapper does.” However, fans can certainly see Minaj in the video for her single “Massive Attack.” A clip for the video, which features Amber Rose and producer Sean Garrett was released last week. While Minaj’s name is still on the tour announcement on Rihanna’s official site , it appears likely that the tour will proceed with a new opening act. Related Artists Nicki Minaj Rihanna Ke$ha

Will.I.Am, Kid Cudi, Kelis Work With Crookers On Tons Of Friends

‘It’s funny, surprising, amazing and cool!.’ Italian duo say of securing impressive roster of artists on debut LP. By Adam Murphy Crookers Photo: MTV News For the last five years, the Italian DJ/production duo Crookers has been around the world and back, setting the international dance-music scene ablaze with their epic DJ sets and trademark remixes. Their most renowned remix, of Kid Cudi’s “Day ‘N’ Nite” , entered the U.K. singles chart at #2, and even enjoyed some serious rotation on U.S. radio. But after remixing choice cuts by everyone from Britney Spears to Timbaland to Lady Gaga , where do they go from here? According to Phra and Bot, you keep on keeping on. Since their enormous break with “Day ‘N’ Nite,” “not so much has changed,” they said. “We’ve just continued touring and producing … and touring a lot … and then producing.” But the production isn’t limited to remixes anymore. Their debut LP, the aptly named Tons Of Friends, boasts a jaw-dropping roster of featured artists, including Kelis , Pitbull, Will.I.Am, Spank Rock, Miike Snow and another collaboration with Kid Cudi. For the dance-music oriented, the LP also features Soulwax, Yelle, Major Lazer and Drop the Lime. Dance Music Week – Tiesto ‘Would Love To Be In The Studio’ With Jay-Z – Deadmau5 Wants To ‘Keep Doing New And Cool Things’ – David Guetta Builds A ‘Bridge’ Between Dance Music And The Mainstream – Kelis Works With ‘Amazing’ Benny Benassi, David Guetta On Remix EP As eclectic-sounding as the guest roster itself, the LP showcases the breadth of Crookers’ production skills in terms of the featured artists. More often than not, the guests meet them halfway — we hear Kid Cudi on “Embrace the Martian,” but the Crookers’ watermark still stands out prominently. The privilege of working with these A-list artists is not lost on Crookers. “It’s really weird because it’s people who [we] see on MTV — you’re fans of these guys and then it happens that they talk about you, or you can do stuff with them. … It’s really surprising. It’s funny, surprising, amazing and cool!” Having established themselves as a force to be reckoned with, Crookers are poised to skyrocket to the top of the production game. ‘American Idol’ Report Card: Who Aced Lennon/McCartney Night?

Aaron Kelly should face permanent suspension, while Casey James proves he’s learned something. By Eric Ditzian Katie Stevens performs on “American Idol” on Tuesday Photo: FOX Seven weeks into the do-or-die tests that are the “American Idol” live shows, our singing students might finally be getting the hang of things. That’s quite a change from week one, when MTV News wanted to hand nearly all of the contestants a failing grade and shove off for an early summer break. But we stuck around the classroom, and Tuesday night’s John Lennon/Paul McCartney-themed show might have offered the most consistent group of performances this season. Special gold stars go to Crystal Bowersox’s didgeridoo and Lee Dewyze’s bagpipes, both of which added an unexpected world music flavor that had heretofore been missing from the “Idol” curriculum. That’s not to say everyone aced the evening. Mr. Aaron Kelly, we’re looking in your direction. So who’s standing at the head of the class? Whose grades are slipping? Let’s see how everyone measured up with another edition of our “Idol” report card. (And don’t miss Jim Cantiello’s “Idol” recap in the MTV Newsroom. Excellent Casey James : Up until Tuesday night, the 27-year-old’s finest performance of the season was his stripped-down, dude-on-a-stool rendition of Bryan Adams’ “Heaven.” After a few weeks of going the electrified rock-star route, James returned to what worked best for him. During his growly, acoustic take on Lennon’s “Jealous Guy,” James managed the neat trick of being both vulnerable and ferocious. We dug what we heard, and hope James doesn’t wait another few weeks to do something similar. Good Katie Stevens : “Let It Be” is as close to an “Idol” failsafe as there is, and Stevens made good on that potential with some on-point vocals. But others before her on the show — Brooke White and Kris Allen — have killed the song. She merely batted it around a bit, like a kitten in a hot pink Snuggie. Again, it was perfectly lovely, but where does the 17-year-old go from here? Back to the awkward, I’m-a-big-girl-I-swear performances of weeks past? And will she even make it, after two consecutive trips to the bottom three? Michael Lynche : Big Mike’s soul-flecked “Eleanor Rigby” seemed to be the most divisive performance of the evening. Perhaps taking a note from David Cook’s 2008 reworking of the same tune, Lynche opted for a daring arrangement that turned the original’s string quartet into a beefed-up orchestra. Sure it was a tad theatrical, but it was equally entertaining. Crystal Bowersox : The only thing that pulled Mama Sox up into this section of the grading curve was that didgeridoo. It certainly wasn’t that overstuffed arrangement of “Come Together,” which muddled her ever-soulful voice. Still, this is the second straight week that she’s stepped outside her Tracy Chapman-esque singer-songwriter comfort zone. She deserves credit for keeping things fresh. Average Andrew Garcia : If anyone was hoping Garcia had learned a thing or two after his highly praised performance last week — which came on the heels of several in-over-his-head performances — the first notes of “Can’t Buy Me Love” proved otherwise. Call it schlocky, cruise-ship swing. Call it the work of an ear-jangling wedding band that forces you to get drunk just so you can make it to the end of the reception. Just don’t call it a comeback, because Garcia has regressed in a serious way. Despite his copious face time on camera since the start of the season, we fear that, with the likes of Paige Miles and Lacey Brown out of the way, Garcia is in trouble this week. Tim Urban : It’s no doubt condescending — not to mention unfair — to judge Urban on a Tim Curve. But that’s what Randy Jackson did, and it seems the only way to a) assess the kid without being cruel and b) explain how in the world he’s stuck around this long. At least his vocals largely held steady during the performance — a welcome change from previous weeks. Alas, this week will be the same in one key respect: He’s headed, once again, into the bottom three. What happens once “Teflon” Tim gets there is anybody’s guess. Siobhan Magnus : She’s nothing if not unpredictable. Yet we’re beginning to sense a pattern: Magnus hasn’t done too well the last week or two. That take on “Across the Universe” sounded like something left on the cutting room floor of Amy Adams’ “Enchanted”: certainly pleasing to the ear but a tune better kept locked in fantasy land than belted out on the “Idol” stage. It could be a surprise, but Magnus just might be in trouble this week, though her chin-trembling story about her baby sisters may have won her enough votes to avoid the bottom three. Lee Dewyze : Question! What does it say that the only contestants gifted with an outside-the-box instrument were Dewyze and MamaSox? Were they the only two singers who, coincidentally, thought to haul out oddball instruments on the same night? Or do only producers’ darlings get to hire freelance musicians for their performances? Right. In any event, much like Crystal’s turn onstage, the only thing memorable about Dewyze’s performance was his skirt-wearing bagpiper. His “Hey Jude” was perfectly forgettable … and it doesn’t matter at all! As both producers and voters have decided, Dewyze is a front-runner. He’s not going anywhere. Unsatisfactory Aaron Kelly : We think it might be time for Kelly to bow out of this “Idol” class and scamper back to the high school from whence he came. Not only was “The Long and Winding Road” the poorest song choice of the night (it’s a beautiful tune but one not suited to opening a rockin’ live show), but his complete lack of oomph while singing left us so drowsy, we almost didn’t make it to the second commercial. Yet we have a feeling none of this matters in the least. Kelly’s got a solid fanbase that has never let him fall to the dreaded bottom three. Hard to see how last night’s song — no better and no worse than many of his past ones — will change that. How would you grade last night’s “Idol” performances? MTV’s Musical March Madness: The Champion Is …

Coheed and Cambria upset My Chemical Romance to win MTV’s Band Bracketology crown! By James Montgomery Coheed and Cambria Photo: Sony/Getty Images/MTV News It’s all over but the shouting, and there’s probably going to be a whole lot of that. The title game of MTV’s Musical March Madness tournament is in the books, and in an upset of colossal proportions, 15th-seeded Coheed and Cambria knocked off #5 My Chemical Romance to claim the championship. In a contest that saw more than 120,000 votes cast (from 149 different countries — shout out to our voter in Tajikistan!), C&C did what Butler couldn’t against Duke in Monday night’s NCAA basketball finale, belting heavily favored MCR 67-33 (83,078 votes to 40,290) to win one for underdogs everywhere. And now, their names will be forever etched on the MTV Musical March Madness trophy! It was a fairly convincing victory for the guys in Coheed, but, as is the case with most great match-ups, the championship tilt wasn’t without some controversy. Voting for the finals opened Monday on the Newsroom blog , and though things remained close overnight, C&C surged to a huge lead in the early hours of Tuesday, which raised our suspicions a tad. So we did some digging in our poll software and discovered that some rather overzealous Coheed fans (and, to a lesser extent, some MCR ones too) had employed bots to juice up the polling numbers — seriously, when one IP address votes 4,576 times for Coheed and Cambria, you know something’s amiss. So we plowed through the results, removed any and all suspicious IP addresses, and Coheed was still winning — by a lot. Still, MCR made a late surge, but in the end, C&C’s lead was too insurmountable to overcome. And just to make sure the final results were legit, we did another round of IP pruning Wednesday morning. What can we say? We take our tournament seriously, and would hate to have its legacy ruined by salacious cheaters. But now is not the time to tarnish Coheed’s victory, or the efforts of the 64 other bands — and their fanbases — that voted in the tournament. Thanks to everyone who participated (well, except the bots), and special thanks to Dick Bagwell and Vincent Twice — who do bear a striking resemblance Cobra Starship’s Ryland Blackinton and Alex Suarez — for their genius recap of MTV’s Musical March Madness tournament on Monday. It’s been a blast to watch unfold, and we’re definitely going to do it again next year. Oh, and when we do, we’re pretty sure Coheed will be seeded a lot higher than #15 — that’s just one of the perks of being crowned champion. Congrats guys, enjoy the tickertape parade. And come get your trophy — it’s here, waiting for you! What do you think of Coheed’s big win? Who would you like to see take the crown in next year’s tournament? Let us know in the comments below! Whitney Houston Postpones European Shows Due To Illness

An upper respiratory infection has forced Houston to reschedule concerts in Paris, Manchester and Glasgow. By Jocelyn Vena Whitney Houston performs in Saitama, Japan (file) Photo: Jun Sato/ WireImage Whitney Houston has postponed a handful of dates on her European tour because she is reportedly suffering from an upper respiratory infection and has been advised by her doctors not to perform. According to the Web site for the Manchester, England, venue where Houston was scheduled to perform on Thursday, Friday, she has postponed those shows until June 16 and 17. The 46-year-old singer also rescheduled Sunday’s concert in Glasgow, Scotland, for May 1. On Tuesday, Houston was forced to sit out her show in Paris. “Doctors visited Whitney late last night in Paris and confirmed that she was suffering from an upper respiratory infection,” says a statement on the Manchester Evening News Arena’s site . “Upon medical advice Whitney has been advised that she cannot perform to allow her time to recover. “Only last month Whitney had said how excited she was to be performing again in the U.K. after her 11-year absence and was looking forward to performing new songs as well as crowd favorites,” the statement continues. In February, after some fans and critics said Houston was out of breath and had trouble hitting notes during her concerts in Australia, her rep denied that she was having health trouble. “Whitney is in great health and having a terrific time on her tour and with her fans,” the publicist told E! Online . Houston staged a comeback late last summer and released her first album of new material in seven years, I Look To You. The singer explained that the album addresses many of the things she has been through. “All the triumphs and the ups and downs and stuff, it’s all incorporated on the album, and hopefully not only does it inspire me, but inspires a whole lot of other people,” she told MTV News before the album’s release. “That makes it real,” she said of singing about personal struggles. “The changes that we go through, the transitions that we go through, the tests that we go through, being a mother, becoming a single mother — it all had its ups and its downs, but for the most part, I kept my faith and I kept my head up and I took my time.” Related Artists Whitney Houston

Fabolous Surveys New Models At New York Auto Show

‘Maybe they’ll give me a discount,’ the MC jokes. By Brian Jacks, with reporting by Tim Kash Fabolous and Tim Kash at the 2010 New York International Auto Show Photo: MTV News If you’re looking for a sign that the economy is improving, then look no further than the iconic New York International Auto Show. Held in New York City’s Javits Center from April 2 through April 11, the annual convention brings marquee brands like Lamborghini, Bentley and Rolls-Royce under the same roof as more affordable offerings from General Motors, Ford, Nissan and the recently hard-hit Toyota. With hundreds of vehicles spread across two floors, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. And that’s why MTV News opted to bring along some celebrity muscle to help us navigate the madness — namely, New York’s own Fabolous. With an eye toward the luxurious, the Brooklyn-bred MC walked the floor with MTV News correspondent Tim Kash to find the biggest and baddest rides at the show. Mercedes SLS AMG The Stats Price: $183,000 0-60mph: 3.8 seconds Top Speed: 190mph Prize Awarded: “Best-Looking Car” One look at the lustrous silver exterior of the Mercedes SLS is all it takes to figure out why we named it the best-looking car at the show. And the gull-wing model found its way into Fab’s heart as well. “Completely, ridiculously sexy,” he gushed. “Even the way the doors go up. It’s a unique car. Before you even get in, it looks like it’s going to do a million miles an hour.” There was even a movie reference to be had, with the rapper remarking the SLS reminded him of the DeLorean from “Back to the Future.” Rolls-Royce Ghost The Stats Price: $245,000 0-60mph: 4.8 seconds Top Speed: 155mph Prize Awarded: “Most O.G. Car” “It’s the ghost of cars: You can see it but you can’t obtain it yet,” Fab joked when he set his eyes on this luxurious four-door chauffer-intended sedan, which counts among its features a video screen and retractable tray tables for the back seats. “I like that it still has the class of the Phantom but it has a twin-turbo V12.” The rapper was so taken with the auto that he was prepared to make a deal on the spot: “I’m trying to give them a mixtape or something — maybe they’ll give me a discount,” he joked. Bentley Supersport Convertible The Stats Price: $280,000 0-60mph: 3.9 seconds Top Speed: 202mph Prize Awarded: “Most Playboy Car” Like many in the field of hip-hop, Fabolous has a Bentley in his home garage. And in any other circumstance, his GT would be the king of the hill — but not when you’re standing next to the upcoming Supersport Convertible. “This is smashing my GT,” he laughed. “You could park this on top of my GT if you want.” As would be expected from a label like Bentley, its luxurious, sporty designs make it a must-have for auto enthusiasts with deep pockets. “I love that they put a lot of class in their vehicles,” Fabolous remarked. Lamborghini Murcielago The Stats Price: $400,000 0-60mph: 3.7 seconds Top Speed: 220mph Prize Awarded: “Fastest Car” When you’re thinking of the speediest car on the market, there’s usually one brand name that springs to mind: Lamborghini. And at this year’s auto show, the firm trotted out their newest offering, the Murcielago. With its sleek exterior, monster engine and prominent scissor doors, the car quickly caught the eye of Fab and his love of the vehicle was easily cemented when he sat inside. “We’re not worthy!” he joked. “Fits like a glove — I don’t think I’m going to get out.” The high-performance model would easily turn heads on the highway, but Fabolous had one other thing in mind. “[I love] just the way the chicks are going to look at me after I pull up in this.” Infiniti Essence Concept The Stats Price: N/A 0-60mph: Unknown Top Speed: Unknown Prize Awarded: “Most Futuristic Car” Auto shows are more than a place to debut next year’s models — they often serve as a launching pad for experimental designs that will someday find their way into your driveway. Such is the case for the Essence, a concept car from Infiniti that easily became one of the show’s most memorable set of wheels. The hybrid sports car features no less than seven cameras to provide the driver with a complete 360-degree view, and the 592-horsepower engine ensures that it’ll easily keep up with its gas-burning brethren. “This makes Knight Rider look like a ’62 Chevy,” laughed Fab, who also found much to like in its green-friendly nature. “What’s better than that? That’s the best of both worlds right there,” he said. “This is a spaceship with wheels on it.” What’s your favorite luxury car? Let us know in the comments below! ‘American Idol’ And The Beatles: The Good, The Bad And The Ugly

We look back on the best and the worst of previous Lennon/McCartney covers. By Eric Ditzian Brooke White Photo: Fox In choosing their John Lennon and Paul McCartney-penned tunes for Tuesday night’s (April 6) live show, did the “American Idol” hopefuls of season nine look back at the history of Lennon/McCartney renditions on the reality show? From Clay Aiken’s inaugural Beatles performance up through this season’s top 24, the “Idol” past offers success stories and cautionary tales. Let’s take a gaze back at the good, the bad and the ugly of the Beatles songbook on “Idol.” The Good Brooke White, “Let It Be” (season seven) : White’s simple, breathy take on the final Beatles’ single was a perfect example of a true “Idol” breakout performance: the point at which we forget you’re a contestant on a reality show and start to envision you as a professional recording artist. Backed by a simple arrangement that slowly added complexity — first piano, then strings, then choral-like exhortations of her backup singers, finally the entire band — White didn’t attempt to refashion this classic. Rather, she introduced subtle variations in tone and phrasings, making the song her own until we saw the teary-eyed wild child within White for the very first time. Carly Smithson, “Come Together” (season seven) : Smithson took this Abbey Road opener and seriously funked it up with a fat bass line and some fierce rocker-chick vocal runs. It was a brilliant example that, if executed well, any song, no matter how familiar, can be made fresh and original. It was enough to make both the judges and the voters think Smithson was going to be a potential champ. Of course, that didn’t come close to happening. But at least for one night, it seemed possible. As Simon Cowell told her, “This reminds me, six years ago, exactly the same week — Kelly Clarkson.” Lilly Scott, “Fixing a Hole” (season nine) : With this Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band track, Scott proved that you don’t need to pick a current top 40 song to prove you’re a relevant, contemporary recording artist. Instead, she brought a current sensibility — that quirky, jazzy, singer/songwriter vibe — and delivered ear-pleasing, toe-tapping tuneage. The performance gave us hope that the snoozapalooza that has been watching season nine might be turning into an exercise more exciting than picking your bellybutton lint. So much for hope. Scott was sent packing just two weeks after this stunning performance. The Bad Clay Aiken, “Here, There and Everywhere” (season two) : Back in 2002, Randy called him “the bomb,” Paula called the performance haunting, and Simon called the whole thing “very pretty.” Time has not been kind to this live rendition. The harp? The lullaby-like pace? We should have known Aiken was headed to Broadway. The vocals may have been spot on, but he took this melodious-yet-haunting Revolver tune and squeezed out every single drop of vitality from it, revealing a gooey cheeseball center neither Lennon nor McCartney ever imagined existed there. Kris Allen, “Come Together” (season eight) : The eventual champ tried to go hard rock with this take on “Come Together,” which makes sense, considering the week’s mentor was guitar-shredding guru Slash. The instrumentation ended up overwhelming Allen’s vocals and leaving his brow soaked in a marathon run’s worth of sweat. All that work wasn’t worth it, nor did his rendition come anywhere close to the one Smithson pulled off a season earlier. The Ugly David Archuleta, “We Can Work It Out” (season seven) : Where to begin? Archie’s take on this 1965 hit veered off course almost immediately, as he started “umm”-ing and “nah”-ing instead of actually, er, singing words. What’s rule #1 of “Idol”? Don’t forget the lyrics! Bungling the words was bad enough … until you consider the arrangement, which, combined with the there’s-no-problem smile frozen on his mug, was so creepily upbeat it bordered on “American Psycho” territory. After this one, Archie owed the greatest songwriting team in music history a sincere apology. Kristy Lee Cook, “Eight Days a Week” (season seven) : Now it’s our turn to apologize for reintroducing you to this county hoedown from hell. Kristy Lee Cook’s speedy, twangy mauling of the 1964 chart-topper sounded, as Simon declared, like “Dolly Parton on helium.” That might be putting it kindly. The performance landed Cook in the bottom three, a spot from which she managed to climb out only to bungle another Lennon/McCartney tune the next week. Did we miss anything? T.I. Is ‘In A Zone,’ The-Dream Says

The Atlanta MC is ‘rapping like he’s in space,’ singer tells MTV News. By Jayson Rodriguez with reporting by Shaheem Reid The-Dream Photo: MTV News The recently freed T.I. said his next album (due August 24) will be more about “feelings” than his last project, Paper Trail, which he described as driven by “thoughts.” The Atlanta rapper has said fans can expect “classic T.I.” The-Dream , who sought out Tip for a collaboration on his forthcoming album, agreed with that early assessment, telling MTV News that T.I.’s skills are otherworldly right now. “Tip is in a zone, man,” said The-Dream, whose second single, “Sex Intelligent,” will feature T.I. “He’s in one of those things. But me just being a lyric guy, what makes songs, I think, hits is when it comes from the heart and you really are saying something you mean. And you can feel it through the passion. “Every record he played me, I was like, ‘Wow.’ I could just feel it. It wasn’t about judging it. It wasn’t about, ‘Is this a single or is this that?’ It was just, ‘Wow, where have you been? Where’d you go?’ It was just elevated, and he’s elevated. Right now, he’s rapping like he’s in space. Not a place we don’t know — it’s in the same area — but his vibe is just wider now.” While Tip is hard at work on his yet-untitled comeback album, last month he released “I’m Back,” the first track he’s delivered to the public since beginning a federal prison stint last May on charges stemming from a 2007 arrest. Recently sprung a couple months shy of his yearlong sentence, the rapper is serving out the remaining months under home confinement. T.I. has been mostly quiet since his release in December, with the exception of a brief conference call with a group of DJs (though he declined to take questions) and a video interview he posted on his Web site, TrapMuzik.com . Are you excited to hear T.I.’s next album? Do The-Dream and Tip have a hit on their hands? Let us know in the comments below! Related Artists The-Dream
