By Kara Warner Matt Lauer talks to Bobby Brown on “Today” Photo: NBC News Their relationship may have been tumultuous and their struggles with substance abuse well-documented, but Bobby Brown insists that he is not the reason ex-wife Whitney Houston started doing drugs, a habit that she battled right up until her death in February. “I’m not the one that got Whitney on drugs, at all,” Brown told “Today” host Matt Lauer in an interview set to air on Wednesday and Thursday. “I’m not the reason she’s gone.” Brown admitted that when he learned of his ex’s death, he was saddened to hear she had started using cocaine again. “I was hurt … because, you know, me being off of narcotics for the last seven years — I felt that she was, you know, I didn’t know she was struggling with it still. But at the same time, you know — listen, it’s a hard fight,” he said. Regarding his involvement in Houston’s drug use, Brown said that drugs were a part of Houston’s life before they met in 1991. “I smoked weed, I drank the beer, but no, I wasn’t the one that got Whitney on drugs at all,” he insisted. “It’s just, it’s just unexplainable, how one could [say that I] got her addicted to drugs. I’m not the reason she’s gone.” The New Edition member said that Houston seemed to have “a glow about her” the last time he saw her over dinner at a restaurant with their daughter, Bobbi Kristina, which was about a week before she died. “She just looked like she was in a good place,” he said. But who will have more fun: the fans or the headliners? During their nine-city Under the Influence of Music run , the Pittsburgh boys are planning plenty of backstage fun. “Your little crew better get your little selves together, ’cause T.G.O.D. is coming,” Wiz told Mac, playfully threatening his labelmate when they both appeared on “RapFix Live” on April 25. “Let’s go, Most Dope versus Taylor Gang. It’s on,” Mac responded all smiles, pumping up his rap crew. Wiz and company get plenty competitive on the road. Fans got a taste of the fun in Khalifa’s second “Taylor Gang” video , which he released in September. The Bill Paladino-directed clip is composed of concert footage from Wiz’s 2011 Rolling Papers Tour. In addition to onstage shots, there are plenty of clips of team T.G.O.D. playing pranks and shooting Super Soaker water guns. “We play basketball, water fights, we ride bikes,” Wiz said of the Taylors’ backstage antics. “We’re gonna climb mountains on bikes.” Last year, Wiz and Mac went out on the Green Carpet Tour , but their respective careers have grown exponentially since then and anticipation for their latest run is building. Mac is particularly excited. “We should do team building. That’s the tough new celebrity lesson learned by The Wanted member Tom Parker, who got hit pretty hard by Christina Aguilera’s fans last week after he went on a New York radio station and tore into 
 “The Voice” coach Christina Aguilera , calling her a “total bitch.” After dropping the b-bomb several more times and claiming that the singer-turned-reality competition judge refused to look at or speak to the British lad band, fellow member Siva Kaneswaran added, “she was quite rude.” Well, Xtina’s fans were not impressed and started flaming the group, and two days after dissing her, Parker walked the comments back a bit, according to TMZ . Caught by the gossip site’s cameras outside Hollywood’s Mondrian hotel on Sunday, Parker said, “We shouldn’t have said it, to be honest with you. We just think manners cost nothing, you know what I mean? The rest of the judges were really nice, and she didn’t even walk over to us and talk to us. We apologize for the comment.” Told that the original dis was all over Google when The Wanted’s name was searched, Parker shook his head and lamented, “I know!” During the original radio appearance, The Wanted were also asked to compare their interactions with Aguilera on “The Voice” with an earlier meeting with “American Idol” judge Jennifer Lopez, when Max George planted a kiss on J.Lo and then the boys openly pined for her hand in marriage backstage . And, as you can probably expect, they definitely preferred one experience to the other. “[Aguilera] was a bit scary, to be honest,” George said. Fans have proudly bonded together to show their allegiance to their favorite groups to help them advance to the next round, and as a result, we have had some shocking eliminations . Yet, this bracket has also served as a reminder of why we fell in love with these groups to begin with. Whether it was their boyish good looks or catchy hit songs that hooked them, most people can probably name their favorite boy band of all time. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber Photo: Steve Mack/ FilmMagic Justin Bieber and his manager Scooter Braun were at the Tribeca Film Festival on Friday (April 27) to accept the 2012 Tribeca Disruptive Innovation Award for disrupting “the traditional gatekeepers of the music industry.” Sporting a varsity jacket when he took the stage, the 18-year-old noted that a lot of what he does is a reflection of his relationship with his fans. “I don’t think that I would be here without the Internet. The fans feel connected to me,” he said, ABC News reports . According to The Huffington Post , he recalled his early days of posting videos on YouTube under the moniker KidRauhl and how he was skittish of Braun, initially. “He called me, and my mom was like, ‘Why am I going to trust a guy named Scooter?’ ” Bieber said. “So she ignored him, and he started calling all of the places where he saw me sing in my videos. … It was some really creepy stuff. He finally found my great aunt, who I had never met before, to try and get in contact with me.” Of those early days, Braun joked, “Either I was going to be the guy who watches videos of a young boy on the Internet and gets arrested, or I was going to sign him.” The award seems fitting, given how much Bieber’s rise to fame has changed the way talent can be discovered via the internet, and can use technology to spread the word. “Ever since then,” Bieber said, “We’ve been taking the world by storm.” Next up, Bieber plans to storm the charts with his June album release, Believe. The cover, which Bieber tweeted on Friday evening (April 27), is simply a black-and-white close-up of his face with the word “BELIEVE” stamped in a yellow caution-tape font underneath. “Here is the #BELIEVEalbumCover standard version,” he tweeted, followed by a second tweet that included a sepia-toned version of the same image: “and this is the DELUXE #BELIEVEalbumCover – #52DAYS – excited? expect the unexpected.” After posting the Believe album cover on Friday, Bieber retweeted one fan’s over-the-top reaction to the artwork: “That awkward moment when I almost ran over a lady and hit the car in front of me cuz I saw the #BELIEVEAlbumCover lololol,” @julieannxoxo wrote. Bieber just revealed the June 19 Believe release date last week on “The Voice,” also bringing along a teaser from his yet-unreleased “Boyfriend” video. Even after revealing that sneak peek, Bieber was spotted shooting new scenes for the highly anticipated video, kissing a mystery brunette (hey, that’s not Selena!) on set. “The concept of this video, I mean, it’s not like a steady concept,” Bieber told MTV News while shooting the video back in March. “It’s not like ‘Justin follows this girl to this spot.’ No, it’s a bunch of amazing scenes: like a fire scene, we have an ice scene. “It’s kind of like bouncing back and forth,” he said. “And then there’s scenes of me and just a bunch of girl dancers, and just some great shots, great artistic shots, great shots of me smiling. Usher To Preview Looking For Myself At Off-Broadway Show

Singer tells MTV News ‘Fuerza Bruta’ matches the ‘more artistic’ music on his upcoming album. By Jocelyn Vena Usher Photo: Todd Williamson/ WireImage This Saturday (and this Saturday only), Usher will appear in New York City’s “Fuerza Bruta,” an off-Broadway show where no one speaks, but the story is told through bright lights, music and dancing. In the lead role of Running Man, Usher will also use the show to preview his June album release, Looking for Myself. Fans in the audience will likely get closer than they’ve ever been to the singer, as the audience stands during the performance, becoming another member of the company. With several weeks until his album release, Usher explained to MTV News at a rehearsal why he wanted to use this show to preview tracks. “I felt like the natural elements as well as the emotion of ‘Fuerza Bruta’ would definitely speak or be significant to some of the stories and I guess hopefully a connection [was there],” he explained of tying this performance to his album. “When we began to explore different directions [for the performance like] maybe we use some of their music, maybe we use some of mine … and before you knew it the idea came together. We tried it, I got on Running Man and it worked.” The show will stream his entire album, which drops June 12, and he thinks the mind-bending artistry of “Fuerza Bruta” works with the sound he’s created on it. “This is more artistic of an album than I’ve had in history,” he said. “And I felt like yeah, it would be a lot for me, but I was willing to at least try it. Well, with Ross out and Francis Lawrence in to direct the franchise’s second film, “Catching Fire,” the actor is just hoping that the same magic can be captured without Ross there waving the wand. “I have spoken to Gary. And I literally don’t think I’ve talked to somebody on the phone and they’ve sounded more upset than he was,” Hutcherson told MTV News at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. “He was so disappointed that he couldn’t do it. Unfortunately, with the scheduling and the timing, he just didn’t have the time to write the script and prep it the way he wants to, the way his work ethic allows him to be as great as he is, which made me extremely sad. “Gary, I think, brought so much to the movie, and he created that whole world that was so close to the book and so perfect in so many ways that it’s going to be hard for Francis to come in, for sure,” he added. “But Francis is extremely talented and everyone I’ve talked to says he’s the best guy in the world. So I think he’s going to bring a lot. I haven’t spoken to Francis. I’ve spoken to Gary.” Given how epic “The Hunger Games” is, Lawrence makes for an interesting choice. What Is Mac Miller’s ‘Pink Slime’ Project?

And though the Pittsburgh MC wouldn’t give much detail when he appeared on Wednesday’s episode of “RapFix Live” , he did drop a clue about one of these projects. “Everyone needs to pay attention for when the words ‘pink slime’ surface, just don’t even worry about it right now,” Mac teased while sitting on the “RFL” couch. He wouldn’t reveal whom he is working with on the “pink slime” project, but Miller did confirm that it is a collaborative effort. “I’ma just say, just keep watch — he’s gonna be pissed that I’m saying this, but you’re not gonna know who it is,” he said. Well, if “he’s gonna be pissed,” then that rules out a tag-team tape with Nicki Minaj right? Maybe it’s her Young Money boss Lil Wayne ; after all he did appear on Miller’s on Macadelic mixtape . Then again, so did Cam’ron, Juicy J and Kendrick Lamar. There is no release date for “pink slime,” but it will come before Mac’s Blue Slide Park follow-up. “As far as the album, to be honest, I haven’t even thought about it yet,” he said. “I need some time, man; I need to put together something.
