Disturbed Knock Katy Perry From Billboard #1 Slot

Eminem’s Recovery holds at #3. By Gil Kaufman Disturbed’s “Asylum” Photo: Warner Music Group It was a short trip to the top for Katy Perry . Despite locking down not one but two of the summer’s biggest smashes with “California Gurls” and the title track to her Teenage Dream album, Perry lost her #1 slot on the Billboard 200 after just one week, as veteran Chicago metal act Disturbed wrangle their fourth #1 debut in a row with Asylum . The album moved 179,000 copies, according to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan. They’re followed by the 35th edition of the Now! series at #2 (105,000), with Eminem holding pat at the #3 slot with Recovery, which moved another 93,000, putting his smash return to form one week away from passing the 2.5 million mark. Other newcomers in the top 10 include R&B singer Lyfe Jennings , who hit #6 with I Still Believe (36,000), the Goo Goo Dolls with Something for the Rest of Us (#7, 34,000) and classic-rock sister duo Heart , whose Red Velvet Car crashes in at #10 on sales of 27,000. In an overall weak sales period, the rest of the top 10 include Perry at #4 (88,000, down 54 percent), Fantasia , Back to Me (#5, 40,000, down 66 percent from week one), Justin Bieber , My World 2.0 (#8, 31,000) and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam (#9, 28,000). After debuting at #4, Usher ‘s Versus drops to #13 as sales were cut in half to 22,000, while the Arcade Fire hold mostly steady with The Suburbs, which ticks up two spots to #14 (21,000) as the Canadian indie heroes steam toward 300,000 sold in just over a month. Academy Award-winning country songwriter Ryan Bingham debuts at #19 with Junky Star (17,000), while alt metal rockers Papa Roach hit #23 (16,000) with their first live album, Time for Annihilation … On the Record and On the Road, which also contains five new studio tracks. As it turns out, there was plenty of competition for Fabolous , whose There Is No Competition 2: The Funeral Service could only muster a #32 debut (12,000), while real-life indie couple Jenny and Johnny come in at #37 with their debut, I’m Having Fun Now (10,000). Perry’s run at the top of the iTunes album charts was also a quick one, as Disturbed topple her there as well, pushing the pop tart down to #2, followed by Eminem, Goo Goo Dolls, Arcade Fire, Mumford & Sons ‘ Sigh No More , the Camp Rock soundtrack, the Weepies ‘ Be My Thrill , Ray LaMontagne and the Pariah Dogs ‘ God Willin’ & the Creek Don’t Rise and Bingham. Though iTunes does not release detailed sales data, it’s clear Perry still has some singles love, as “Teenage Dream” continues its run atop the iTunes singles chart, followed by the same, slightly shuffled cast of characters including Bruno Mars (“Just the Way You Are”), Taio Cruz (“Dynamite”), Eminem (“Love the Way You Lie”), Usher (“DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love”), Enrique Iglesias (“I Like It”), Nelly (“Just a Dream”), Ke$ha (“Take It Off”), Taylor Swift (“Mine”) and B.o.B (“Magic”). Things should be pretty tame at the top next week, as new albums by Stone Sour , Interpol and Anberlin jockey for position with the latest from singer/songwriter Sara Bareilles . Willow Smith Makes Music Debut With ‘Whip My Hair’

Will and Jada Pinkett’s fashion-forward 9-year-old is earning Rihanna comparisons. By Daniela Capistrano Willow Smith (file) Photo: Jun Sato/WireImage/Getty Images If the early enthusiasm is to be believed, Rihanna may have a threat in 9-year-old Willow Smith. On Tuesday, the pint-size daughter of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith leaked her first single, “Whip My Hair,” setting music blogs abuzz with comparisons to the Barbadian R&B star. With a crazy beat that works on the schoolyard and the dance floor, Willow tells the ladies to snap their heads “back and forth” and whip that hair like a helicopter. Solange Knowles has co-signed on the track, tweeting , “Willow Smith make me wanna whip some haiiirrr in this house. Ummm kill em girl. Kill em!” Brandy jumped onboard too. “OK, these lil Smith kids are AMAZING!!” the singer tweeted . “I whip my hair back and forth… Ms Willow is not to be played with!!” Encouraged by her talented parents, Willow is embarking on a music career when many of her peers are simply worrying about third grade homework. She made her acting debut at the age of 6, starring alongside her father in 2007’s “I Am Legend.” Her credits also include a role in “Kit Kittredge: An American Girl” and voice-over work for the animated feature “Madagascar 2.” Already building a fanbase with her eclectic red-carpet fashion, Willow tagged along with big brother Jaden to Justin Bieber ‘s concert at Madison Square Garden last week. Jaden was there to rap alongside Bieber on their “Karate Kid” track “Never Say Never.” But Willow is also drawing the attention of Bieber’s camp. On Tuesday, Justin’s video director Alfredo Flores tweeted , “WHAT!!??! Willow Smith just KILLED “Whip My Hair”… Rihanna, Keri, Ciara, Ashanti – please be warned.” With rumors circulating that Willow will sign with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation music label and start her own clothing line, she might soon be overshadowing her big brother, or even her parents. Jada, who has fronted her own metal band, told Ambassador magazine back in June that Willow is working on an album that will be released soon. What do you think of Willow Smith’s new song? Lindsay Lohan Does A Little Modeling

Here’s Lindsay Lohan doing some sort of modeling for something called Fornarina . Anyone? I guess it doesn’t matter, it still counts as work. Besides, I’ve always found Lindsay hot so putting her in some slutty outfits isn’t a bad way to get my attention. When are we going to get to see her homemade tattoos she got in jail? You know a pretty girl like this would get a lot of attention from the prison girl gangs… I’m sure someone tagged their property.

Demi Moore Bikini Pictures

I love Twitter , not only do all kinds of slutty wannabe babes post pictures of themselves half naked, but so do superstar older chicks like Demi Moore . Here she is showing off her tight older body in some self shot bikini pictures using the classic iPhone and mirror technique. Well done. I can’t believe she’s forty-seven years old. Just a heads up, one of the pictures below is going to be a major disturbing letdown. You’ve been warned.

Ashley Greene Gets Wet With Miley Cyrus

I don’t know exactly what’s going on in these pictures, but it involves one of my new favorite hotties Ashley Greene so I don’t really care. Besides, take a hottie like Ashley, put her in the rain and throw in some jailbait like Miley Cyrus and you’ve got my attention. I can’t be certain, but it looks like they’re about to kiss, alright so they’re probably not, but a guy can dream. No big deal, in my mind they’ve kissed many many times.

Africans have ‘child rape gene’: Sweden Democrat

A blog post by a local Sweden Democrat politician, Per T K Wahlberg, in which he claims that black Africans are genetically programmed to rape children, has raised questions about the party's attempts to distance itself from open racism. Wahlberg occupies 26th place on the Sweden Democrats list for municipal elections in Landskrona in southern Sweden and he currently sits on the culture committee and election commission. The party claimed 11 seats in Landskrona municipality at the last election in 2006. On his blog “Landskronabackspegel” (Literally: Landskrona rearview mirror) Wahlberg, a 76-year-old retiree and one of the party's more experienced members, published a post on the genetic characteristics of black Africans: “For many thousands of years, the Negro could chill out in the heat, eat some bananas, rape some passing woman or child, fight with other negro males and eat them up, play the drums a little, run around a bit, catch an antelope, eat a few bananas, love a bit, get drunk on fermented fruits or herbs, and so on. This has been going on for millennia without any evolutionary pressure in the form of environmental factors forcing the negro to develop in another direction.” Wahlberg told The Local on Friday that the quotes are all taken from the provocative Swedish political and media discussion forum Flashback, and are written “ironically”. Nevertheless, he declined to distance himself from the broad content of the post. “You could say that some parts have some truth to them. But generally speaking it is written with irony,” he said. In a prior recent interview with the local Helsingborgs Dagblad (HD) daily, Wahlberg was more forthright over his personal views. “I think that it was quite an accurate description. If we look at history, then humanity began in Africa once upon a time, and then there were some who emigrated to Europe and Asia. But at what level are they now? Not much has happened over these thousands of years,” he told the newspaper. Wahlberg's blog furthermore includes several recent posts critical of Islam and Muslims. Despite the nature of his blog, Wahlberg told The Local late Friday morning that he has not received any internal criticism from the party hierarchy. However, in the wake of the attention given to Wahlberg's blog by Sweden's mainstream media, he has since left the party. Sweden Democrat party secretary Bj

Vanity Fair On Sarah Palin: She Has A Terrible Temper, Is A Bad Tipper

Two years after entering the nation’s klieg lights Sarah Palin is the subject of a detailed and sometimes scathing profile in next month’s Vanity Fair. The portrait that emerges is one of a willful, often-paranoid, sometimes vengeful woman with a terrible temper and a knack for folksy soundbites, who knows her strengths, saw her moment in the spotlight and has grabbed onto it with both hands. Or as Vanity Fair’s Michael Joseph Gross puts it “anywhere you peel back the skin of Sarah Palin’s life, a sad and moldering strangeness lies beneath.” What is perhaps most amazing about the profile is that it took this long for it to come about. For a woman who has been the subject of spectacular amounts press attention very few details about her personal life, or any life behind the public face and Facebook page, have come to light. Ironically, if Palin wasn’t so secretive none of the things revealed in this profile would be terribly interesting; for the most part it’s pretty basic stuff. But the newness of it subsequently makes it hard not to wonder if this marks some sort of turning point for Palin and the press. Certainly her public persona appeared to take a hit following her puzzling support of Dr. Laura’s N-word debacle (her Facebook and Twitter have been notably tame since), and Sunday’s NYT op-ed calling for the Dems to come up with their own Palin appears to have hit a nerve. Not that Palin is going anywhere, not by a long shot, but one gets the sense her time of skating through all the attention with nary a nod to the public outside a handful of controlled mediums be coming to a close. In the meantime here’s a short selection of passages from the VF profile including some solid speculation about the woman who may be the voice of Palin’s Facebook page. Read the full piece here. Update: Ben Smith thinks you should take this piece with a grain of salt: “[M]y takeaway from the magazine piece is more that you can really write anything about Palin.” A takeaway that arguably adds to the conclusion Palin’s press avoidance is beginning to work against her. Palin and the press: “Her on-the-record statements about herself amount to a litany of untruths and half-truths.” She keeps tight control of her pronouncements, speaking only in settings of her own choosing, with audiences of her own selection, and with reporters kept at bay. (Despite many requests, neither Palin nor her current staff would comment for this article.) She injects herself into the news almost every day, but on a strictly one-way basis, through a steady stream of messages on Twitter and Facebook. The press plays along. Palin is the only politician whose tweets are regularly reported as news by TV networks. The woman behind Sarah Palin’s Facebook page Palin’s most unconventional hire is a novice media consultant, Rebecca Mansour, a 36-year-old Los Angeles resident who has been identified in news stories as a screenwriter. Mansour has said that she volunteered for Obama early in the 2008 campaign and then became disillusioned. Not long after the election…[Mansour] co-founded the most popular pro-Palin blog, Conservatives4Palin, known informally as C4P. By mid-August, her byline, long the most prominent one on C4P, had vanished from the site. But her voice, or at least a voice that sounds much like hers, was about to turn up in another venue…After Mansour’s voice disappeared on C4P, however, Palin’s voice on Facebook and Twitter started sounding increasingly provocative and irascible…This summer, in her capacity as a SarahPAC staffer, Mansour insisted to a reporter that “anything that goes out under [Palin’s] name is hers.” Palin’s virtual voice does sometimes have the ring of authenticity. But often it sounds less like Palin herself than someone else’s fantasy version of Palin at her most vitriolic. On one occasion Palin’s virtual voice contradicted remarks she made in a TV interview two days later. Andrew Sullivan Alert Palin delivers basically the same speech she gave 18 hours earlier to the Tea Party group in Independence. You could pretty much replace the word “constitution,” from yesterday’s remarks, with “Bible,” and be good to go. Then Palin departs from the script and speaks as if from the heart, describing her fear and confusion upon discovering that Trig would be born with Down syndrome. “I had never really been around a baby with special needs,” she tells her listeners. For what it’s worth, this statement is untrue. Depicting the same moment of discovery in her own book, Palin writes that she immediately thought of a special-needs child she knew very well: her autistic nephew. Such falsehoods never damage Palin’s credibility with her admirers, because information and ideology are incidental to this relationship. For someone who loves the common folk, Palin is apparently a bad tipper Palin does not always treat those ordinary people well, however—it depends on who is watching…The only time I heard of Palin giving a generous tip was in St. Joseph, Michigan, after the owner of Kilwin’s chocolate shop, on State Street, sent a CARE package to Palin’s suite, and Palin walked to the store to say thank you. She also wanted to buy more boxes of candy to take home. When the owner would not accept her money, Palin, encircled by the crowd that had jammed the store to get a glimpse of her, pressed a hundred-dollar bill into the woman’s hand, saying, “This is for the staff.” That Ben Franklin was the talk of State Street the whole rest of the day. And has a Terrible Temper The intensity of Palin’s temper was first described to me in such extreme terms that I couldn’t help but wonder if it might be exaggerated, until I heard corroborating tales of outbursts dating back to her days as mayor of Wasilla and before. One friend of the Palins’ remembers an argument between Sarah and Todd: “They took all the canned goods out of the pantry, then proceeded to throw them at each other. By the time they got done, the stainless-steel fridge looked like it had got shot up with a shotgun. Todd said, ‘I don’t know why I even waste my time trying to get nice things for you if you’re just going to ruin them.’ ” This friend adds, “As soon as she enters her property and the door closes, even the insects in that house cringe. added by: TimALoftis

Rick Ross, Slim Thug Battle On Twitter Over Song Lyrics

‘Just threw [Rick Ross’] cd out the roof of the coupe,’ Houston rapper tweeted. By Jayson Rodriguez Rick Ross Photo: Larry Marano/ Getty Images Who’s the boss? Tony Danza might have some say in the matter, but rappers Rick Ross and Slim Thug took to Twitter over the weekend to lash out at one anther after lyrics from the Miami rapper’s leaked song “King Boss” hit the Web. “She dated Slim Thug, but now she f—- with me,” Ross spits on the track’s second verse. “She finally made it to the biggest boss, luckily.” “WTF is that a diss,” Slim Thug tweeted to Ross. “Just threw [Rick Ross’] cd out the roof of the coupe,” the Houston rapper later wrote . “[H]aters get no play in my ride.” According to Slim Thug, he reached out to Ross to get some clarity regarding the song but was unable to connect with the Teflon Don star. Though the song appears to be dated, a rep for Ross had not responded to our inquiry by press time. Slim Thug also tweeted that Ross’ silence on the matter must speak for his intent, namely that the song was intended to be a fresh attack on Slim Thug. He continued to disparage Ross, eventually prompting one of the Miami rapper’s crew members, Torch, to chime in. “Not u2 [Slim Thug] aka Slim Sukka,” Torch wrote . “I promise this ain’t the attention u want…” Ross, for his part, weighed in on the matter, albeit briefly, with just one message posted on Twitter . “[R]eal n—as pick up phones,” he wrote. “A boss would kno better!!#trills—.” The pair have collaborated together in the past, but it remains unclear if there was previous friction between the two artists, who both use “Boss” nicknames.
