Chris was in court in L.A. Wednesday for a progress report on his probation, and the results were glowing — all his random drug tests were negative and he attended bi-weekly therapy sessions. Ciara Says She’s Happy Because Of Son And Career, In Spite Of Split From Future Ciara remains strong despite recent news that she called off her engagement with her son’s father Future. According to US Weekly reports : As Us Weekly exclusively revealed, Ciara has called it quits with Future — her fiance and father to her newborn son Future Zahir Wilburn — after learning of his infidelity. Before the news broke, the “I’m Out” singer spoke with Us on Tuesday, Aug. 12, about how her life has changed since welcoming her baby. “I’m in a much more clairvoyant place in my life,” Ciara, 28, told Us of motherhood. “So, I want to express that through my music.” The singer, who will appear on MTV’s House of Style for Degree Women, further mused. “I’m in an even more expressive place,” she said. “I think that when you become a mom… you don’t really worry about the small stuff. I’m just way more centered. It makes you focus even more on what your goals are in life. And I just feel a whole new spiritual energy that’s happening.” According to a source, Ciara was “devastated” after learning of her fiance’s betrayal. “He cheated on her,” the insider said. “Game Over.” Despite her recent trials, the R&B still counts her abundant blessings, especially as a proud mom to her 3-month-old baby. “My son has been the best thing that has happened in my life,” Ciara told Us of Future Zahir, born in May. “He has been amazing and he is truly heaven-sent. As the babies age, however, they now must consider how they will break the news that even though they and the rest of the world see an average male/female father/mother unit, Daddy is actually Mommy and vice versa. Bianca and Nick Bowser are a happily married couple and live in Kentucky with their two young sons. Nick, 27, was born a girl, called Nicole, but for the last seven years has lived as a man. Bianca, 32, who is a drag artist, was born as a boy called Jason, and transitioned to live as a woman 11 years ago. The transgender couple still have their original sex organs because they cannot afford reconstructive surgery. The cost of male to female surgery can range from £4,000 to £15,000, while female to male surgery can exceed £30,000. And they insist their children, Kai, now three, and Pax, almost one, will be fine because their upbringing will be loving, supportive, secure, and perfectly ‘normal’ Bianca said: ‘The kids currently have no idea. It’s not like strangers ever guess in restaurants or at the shops. ‘I don’t know when we will start to tell them, maybe when Kai is around six, but they will need to be old enough to understand. ‘It is important they know because it’s a big secret to keep from your children and if they found out another way they could hold huge resentment. ‘But I don’t worry about how they will react. We will not treat it as a ‘bad’ thing. Yes, that means exactly what you think it means … Jewish Infants Contracting Herpes Via Rabbis Mouths Post-Circumcision Via TheDailyBeast On July 22, the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene revealed that two new cases of neonatal herpes had been diagnosed during July. One baby was found at 16 days old to have “pustular lesions on the penis and genital area,” and a 17-day-old was found to have “lesions on his penis, left foot, and left thigh.” Based on the timing and the locations of the lesions, the male infants had contracted the herpes simplex virus during their Jewish circumcision custom, a bris, which occurs on the eighth day of life. Circumcisions are a standard—even beneficial—health practice. But each of these boys underwent a bris that followed an ancient ritual not widely practiced outside the ultra-Orthodox community. Metzitzah b’peh (MBP), the orogential (mouth to genitals) suctioning of blood from the penis of an infant male following circumcision, poses one of the most unique and upsetting public health issues. While infants who do not undergo MBP can contract neonatal herpes, infants who do are 3.4 times more likely to do so, according to the New York City Department of Health. Since 2000, 16 cases of neonatal herpes have resulted from MBP in New York City alone, with three proving fatal and others causing long-term health effects, including brain damage. A practice that sounds immediately abhorrent and baffling to nearly anyone outside New York’s ultra-Orthodox community has forced a controversial clash of local politics, culture, and power. MBP has been practiced for millennia with varying regularity among different sects of the Jewish community. However, in 1837, Chasam Sofer, a revered sage in the central and eastern European Jewish world, said oral suctioning could be stopped when it appeared to cause a public health crisis in Vienna. He stated that Jewish law did not state MBP as necessary for fulfilling the Jewish commandment of circumcision, and “even if oral suction had been mentioned in the Mishnah, we would be able to change it to another method which accomplishes the same thing, so long as we heed qualified physicians.” Other rabbis followed with similar rulings, and in many circles, MBP eventually fell out of practice for most Jews. Jewish leaders have condemned the MBP practice, but apparently that has fallen on deaf ears. Multiple religious authorities definitively stressed during the reporting of this article that MBP is not at all necessary to complete a bris. “The most fundamental precept of Jewish law is preservation of health, and life comes first. There’s no close second,” says Ben Hirsch, who was raised in Brooklyn’s ultra-Orthodox community and is now an advocate against abuse within the community. “The rabbis are obligated under Jewish law to defer to medical professionals, but they are refusing to do so, and infants are being maimed and killed.” Most succinctly, Dr. Moshe Tendler, a microbiologist and professor of Talmud at Yeshiva University, wrote in a 2004 Pediatrics article: “The rule that’s above all rules in the Torah is that you cannot expose or accept a risk to health unless there is true justification for it.” First and foremost, with all respect to Jewish tradition, that is just f*****g nasty. Oops Toy Doll Mistaken For Abandoned Child As Emergency Crew Breaks Into Car Via AJC You can call it a case of mistaken identity. Emergency responders in Hoboken, N.J. thought they were rescuing a baby left in a hot car, but instead pulled out a doll. The life-sized doll was left perched in a car seat by a 2-year-old girl. The girl’s grandmother admits the doll was strikingly lifelike, however she wishes crews would have taken a closer look. “The doll is here. All you have to do is go like this, and there’s the doll,” Kitty Mieles said as she showed news crews where the doll was located. Officials said they weren’t taking any chances on potentially saving a life. “Seconds are paramount there. That’s the difference between a baby breathing, not breathing. Pulse, no pulse,” said Thomas Molta, president of the Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corp. Officials said 19 children have died this summer after being left in hot cars. Better safe than sorry.
