Pauly D ‘Flattered’ By Deadmau5 Twitter Feud

‘Jersey Shore’ star says he’s ‘not mad at all’ about mau5’s comments bashing his ‘Night of My Life’ video. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Uptin Saiidi Deadmau5 and Pauly D Photo: Getty Images Last week, “Jersey Shore” star DJ Pauly D shared some heated words with deadmau5 over the nature of his own art. It all started when Pauly asked his Twitter followers if they liked his brand-new “Night of My Life” video . deadmau5 didn’t and stated his opinion about it on his own Twitter feed, bashing the clip that features Pauly in the club spinning and greeting fans behind the scenes. From there, the twosome went at it, with Pauly at one point even joking, “Being Hated On By deadmau5#Priceless.” Even in the aftermath of the headline-grabbing back-and-forth, the tanned DJ managed to have a good laugh about the beef with mau5. And, when he chatted with MTV News about the quarrel, he only had kind words for his fellow dance music star. You see, at the end of the day, Pauly says, it’s better to be hated by deadmau5 than not noticed by him at all. “Nah, he’s cool. I’m a fan,” he told MTV News at the Bamboozle festival in New Jersey on Saturday, just one day after the “Jersey Shore” star exchanged words with mau5. “He’s talented and I’m actually flattered he came at me like he did.” Regardless of whether or not the EDM producer thinks the MTV star’s video “looked like it cost about $150 to make” and that there’s “nothing really creative about it,” Pauly can’t believe he took out that much time to watch it and form any sort of opinion about it. “I’m actually flattered he even watched my video,” he said. “So I got to be funny about it. I’m not mad at all. I thought it was fun.” In the end, perhaps it’s Pauly who’s having the last laugh. He later joked, “I don’t want to say, but I will: I’m beating him [on iTunes].” Related Artists deadmau5

B.o.B Says His Odd Future Dis Song Wasn’t ‘That Serious’

‘You feel flattered,’ B.o.B tells Sway about Tyler, the Creator’s lyrical swipe. By Rob Markman, with reporting by Sway Calloway B.o.B Photo: MTV News It isn’t all #1 singles and catchy melodies with B.o.B; sometimes the Atlanta MC just wants to rap! After being called out by Odd Future’s Tyler, the Creator on his breakout single “Yonkers,” Bobby Ray was motivated to get in the booth and fire back. “I remember when I made that, I was in my basement,” the Grammy-nominated rapper told Sway. “I was like, ‘You know what, man? I just wanna rap.’ So I just threw together a beat and we just leaked it and put it out there.” On “Yonkers,” Tyler raps, “I’ll crash that f—ing airplane that that f—-t n—a Bob is in/ And stab Bruno Mars in his goddamn esophagus.” The ATL MC fired back on the OFWGKTA dis song “No Future” in late March. “Keep f—ing with me, you ain’t gon’ have no future,” B.o.B rapped. Tyler addressed the track via Twitter : “I don’t think the ‘No Future’ song is even a diss. But I’ve never heard him spit like that. Took me by surprise, cus it’s tight.” B.o.B also downplayed the beef. “You feel flattered. I didn’t take it as a dis at all. I think in the hip-hop world, the more that we accept competition … ” Bob told Sway before coming to his point. “Listen, you cannot accept competition and still be competitive. “It’s when you lose, when you’re on the losing end, that’s when it gets serious and escalated,” he said. “But I think it wasn’t really anything that serious.” What did you think of Tyler’s song and B.o.B’s response? Wiz Khalifa Plays Bamboozle Fest, Denies Feud With Kanye

‘It’s fun to talk about it and make jokes about, but in all reality, that didn’t even exist,’ Wiz tells us about alleged altercation. By Steven Roberts Wiz Khalifa Photo: MTV News EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey — Wiz Khalifa is riding high — pun not intended, even though it kind of works — off the success of his debut album, “Rolling Papers,” and a stage show that is quickly garnering a lot of praise. But Wiz can’t seem to escape the gossip that doggedly follows him and girlfriend Amber Rose around. Rumor has it that Wiz confronted Kanye West over a jab West took at Rose during his show-stealing set at Coachella . During his performance of “Stronger,” West slightly altered the lyrics from “I’ll do anything for a blonde dike and she’ll do anything for the limelight/ We’ll do anything when the time’s right” to “I did anything for a blonde dike and she did anything for the limelight/ And we did anything when the time’s right.” An altercation allegedly occurred after West’s performance, but when MTV News caught up with Wiz before his set at this weekend’s Bamboozle Festival, he said the entire backstage incident was fabricated. “I did my set and we hung around for a bit, but we weren’t even there when fam was onstage,” Wiz said. “Somebody made that up. I think they just wanted it to be that type of situation or they wanted to see something go down. It’s fun to talk about it and make jokes about, but in all reality, that didn’t even exist.” Wiz said he did hear Kanye’s lyrics though. He thought it was a low moment, that many people who look up to West may have been turned off by his lyrical alteration. He harbors no ill will, however. “It is what it is, and I’m doing my business and she’s doing her business and he’s doing his business and that’s what it is. I’m all about positivity and I’m going to keep it that way.” Wiz kept things moving, co-headlining Bamboozle Friday night along with 30 Seconds to Mars. Wiz is currently on the College Consciousness Tour with fellow Steel City native Mac Miller, and he plans to head out with the Motor City’s own Big Sean next month for the Rolling Papers tour . But he’s happy to perform wherever his fans — or soon-to-be-fans — may be. “I think my crowd, they kind of just go everywhere and wherever I’m at. I kind of just entertain them as well as make new fans. Some of the people that come to my shows, they just know me for one or two songs, so even the people that don’t know me at all at shows like Bamboozle, I get to make them new fans.” Related Videos Get Bamboozled In New Jersey Related Artists Wiz Khalifa Kanye West

Lil Wayne Shoots I Am Still Music Tour Documentary

‘It’s going to be real major,’ Wayne says of behind-the-scenes look at his current tour. By Rob Markman, with reporting by Sway Calloway Lil Wayne Photo: MTV News Fans who haven’t gotten a ticket to Lil Wayne’s I Am Still Music Tour will still get a chance to see Weezy on the big stage after all. While backstage at his New Orleans show last week Weezy revealed to MTV News that he has been filming select dates and will compile the footage into a tour documentary similar to Jay-Z’s 2000 film, Backstage, and Russell Simmons’ 1995 doc The Show. “I just felt like a movie like that hasn’t come out in so long,” Weezy said. “At that time when they put those movies out, we as the fans were interested in what they were doing on the road. … Nobody hasn’t came around since then that was that interesting other than Young Money.” The I Am Still Music Tour , which kicked off on March 16, has already made key stops in New York and Miami, and will conclude on May 1 at the Bamboozle festival in East Rutherford, New Jersey. A source close to the Young Money camp also confirmed that DJ Scoob Doo has been shooting behind-the-scenes footage, and several cameras have been set up to film at different tour dates. While there is no word whether the film will be a theatrical release or a straight-to-DVD offering, Tunechi is confident that it will be impactful. “It’s going to be real major; it’s going to be real big,” he said. “I will eat real nice.” Related Photos Lil Wayne Returns To Glory With I Am Still Music Tour Lil Wayne Brings ‘I Am Still Music’ Tour Home To New Orleans Related Artists Lil Wayne

Good Charlotte Talk ‘Family Vibe’ On Bamboozle Tour

Band brings tourmates along on DJ gigs, where they ‘party their faces off.’ By James Montgomery, with reporting by Matthew Harper Good Charlotte Photo: MTV News By now, you’re probably aware that the Bamboozle Road Show — the rambling rock circus featuring Good Charlotte, All Time Low, Simple Plan, Third Eye Blind and 3OH!3, among others — is basically, well, one giant “bro down.” Yes, it seems that everyone associated with the ‘Boozle enjoys the company of their fellow musicians, and it doesn’t matter if it’s the lowliest of opening acts or the headiest of headliners, they all hang out together, for reasons that seem to extend beyond friendship and into the realm of survival. “Everyone’s been hanging out every night, [because] the actual conditions of the tour … definitely everyone’s helped each other out, because there hasn’t been any food,” Good Charlotte’s Joel Madden laughed. “So, like, the bands will all buy food and cook out, or, if we go shopping one night, the other bands will come on our bus. It’s like a big, family vibe. We’re all hanging out and having a good time.” Of course, there’s also other human needs to attend to while on tour, like getting trashed. And Good Charlotte’s Madden brothers have that aspect covered. “Me and Benji have had a lot of DJ gigs in random cities, like once or twice a week, and we’ll bring the entire tour with us,” Joel smiled. “And we’re talking, like, 20 guys that are all, like, 22 or 23 and they all want to rage. So we’ll go and set it up and then they’ll have the whole club at their disposal. They party their faces off.” And, of course, all that camaraderie also extends to the stage, too. Take, for example, the events that took place earlier this week during a Road Show stop in Pittsburgh. Heavy rain and strong winds forced the show to nearly be cancelled, until all the bands stepped in and saved the day. “The other night in Pittsburgh, we had walked up to the stage, and we were about to go on stage, and it started pouring down rain, storm, the rain was blowing the screens almost off the stage, so … they had to shut the stage down, tie everything down, kind of wait for the rain to stop, and, the show got canceled, pretty much,” Benji Madden said. “So, all the bands decided we’d play acoustic instead. And so, all the bands went up on stage, and each of us played 4-5 songs, and played some together and, most of the crowd stayed, and it turned out to be maybe my favorite show of the tour. It felt really special, like one of those rock and roll moments where everybody there won’t forget it.” Related Photos Bamboozle Bands On The Road Related Artists Good Charlotte

Paramore Working On New Songs — Two Seconds At A Time

Band says ideas for new songs are often born on tour, but usually write at home. By James Montgomery Paramore’s Hayley Williams Photo: MTV News It seems odd to talk about “new” Paramore songs, given that their Brand New Eyes album is just seven months old, but the fact remains that there actually are some new tracks in the works … albeit ones that are progressing very slowly. “[Frontwoman Hayley Williams] normally needs to rest her voice during show days, so she’ll come to soundcheck sometimes and just listen to her in-ear monitors,” drummer Zac Farro told MTV News on Saturday at the Bamboozle festival in New Jersey. “The other day, we were just messing around — we have a couple of songs we just play for fun. They’re never anything we’ll probably use, but we’ve been playing them for a while. [They’re] just random, two-second things.” So while it sounds like those “two-second” things might not amount to much, Farro quickly added, “Actually, ‘Decode’ and ‘I Caught Myself’ [ Paramore’s two songs on the “Twilight” soundtrack ] were kind of written that way, so you never really know.” Williams agreed, though she made it clear that the band is still very much focused on playing songs from Brand New Eyes, and said that the majority of writing for the follow-up — whenever it may happen — will take place at home in Franklin, Tennessee. “We like coming up with new things, but, like Zac says, it’s usually at home, at practice,” Williams said. “We usually write intros and outros for shows, and that’s a good outlet for us, and a way to keep our creative brains rolling and keep our chops up. But, like he said, it’s like two seconds and then we’re done.” And Paramore will have even more time to work on those two-second outbursts (maybe even extending them to four or five seconds,) when they hit the road on the Honda Civic Tour with Tegan and Sara and New Found Glory. The trek kicks off July 23 and already, Williams and company are getting pumped — even if it means they’re not going to be home any time soon. “We all like a bit of everything, musically, and you can usually tell that in our [concert] bills,” Williams said. “I think Honda Civic Tour is the most diverse lineup we’ve ever had. And I’m really psyched about it. I saw Tegan and Sara in Nashville, and they were great. It’s going to be a lot of fun!” Related Artists Paramore

Ke$ha On ‘Saturday Night Live’ Backlash: ‘I Don’t Care’

‘I had a fun time. I played laser beams,’ she says of her divisive performance. By James Montgomery Ke$ha on “Saturday Night Live” Photo: NBC EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey — Ke$ha’s recent performance on “Saturday Night Live” was divisive, to put it mildly. Some saw her two-song set — which featured laser beams, body paint, spoken-word interludes, dancing astronauts, fireworks and an American-flag cape — as an attempt at “artistic expression” gone awry, while others praised her efforts, calling the performance “spirited” and writing pieces in her “defen$e.” Either way, it didn’t really matter to Ke$ha. As she told MTV News on Saturday at the Bamboozle festival, she’s not listening to anything anyone has to say about her these days. “If you don’t like dancing astronauts, laser beams that play music, me talking about aliens, glow-in the dark things, vocoders and a hot chick, I don’t know what to tell you,” she laughed. “My new theory is … I don’t really listen or look at anything. But I have heard through the grapevine that some people thought it sucked and some people thought it was great. [I] don’t care. I had a fun time. I played laser beams.” She did, indeed. If anything, Ke$ha didn’t think the backlash from her “SNL” appearance had anything to do with, you know, her actual performances as it did with the fact that she refuses to be categorized. In an increasingly segmented industry, she proudly — almost defiantly — sticks out like a sore thumb. A sore thumb with laser beams, of course. “I don’t use Auto-Tune. I come from a country-music-writing family, a punk-rock loving brother who gave me his records, and in a society where everything is supposed to be perfect — down to what I wear, what I look like, my body, my voice, my outfits — I’m not perfect, and I embrace it,” she said. “And I think that’s what a lot of people are finding not being up to par to, like, the standard that other people have set, but I’m just being real. And I think what I’m doing is good.” What did you think of Ke$ha’s “SNL” performance? Let us know in the comments! Related Videos MTV News Extended Play: Ke$ha Related Artists Ke$ha
