Barbara Walters’ 10 Most Fascinating People of the Year: Revealed!

Barbara Walters’ always-highly anticipated “10 Most Fascinating People of the Year” list for 2013 has been revealed, with the notable exception of the #1 spot. Miley Cyrus, obviously, is on the list (she is also rumored to be in the running for Time Person of the Year ) along with future monarch Prince George. Speaking of babies, celebrity royalty North West was snubbed, though her famous folks, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are both on the list. The lineup also includes Robin Roberts, A&E’s Duck Dynasty stars , Jennifer Lawrence, Diana Nyad, Pope Francis, and NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden. If the current list of personalities are any indication of who will top Barbara Walters’ final list before retiring in 2014, it’s sure to raise some eyebrows. Walters first began choosing her Most Fascinating People in 1993 and will include a “20 Years of 10 Most Fascinating People” segment in this year’s special. That telecast, and with it the #1 Most Fascinating Person of 2013, will be revealed on December 18. Who do you think tops the list in her eyes? And yours?

In White Folks News: Katy Perry Admits She Had Suicidal Thoughts During Divorce From Ex Boo Thang Russell Brand

Katy , suicide over Russell? Poor thang. Katy Perry Considered Suicide During Divorce From Russell Brand It was shady of Russell to ask for a divorce via text message. Fortunately, she bounced back with John Mayer…maybe Katy can give her buddy Rih Rih dating advice. According to US Magazine Katy Perry’s life is completely different compared to just two years ago. While promoting her upcoming third studio album Prism, the 28-year-old pop star gave a sneak peek into her life with boyfriend John Mayer — and why he’s such a smarty pants, shedding some light on just how her life has changed since her divorce from comedian Russell Brand. “He literally is a genius, as is evident from his songwriting,” the “Roar” singer told Billboard in its latest issue about Mayer. “I always tell him, ‘Darling, you know I’m going to have to give your mind to science after you’ve passed, because we’re going to have to understand how all these sparks work.’” The “Firework” star is focused on her new album — set to hit stores Oct. 22 — and is on a different path from just two years ago. In the Billboard interview, Perry also dishes on when veteran journalist Barbara Walters threw “shade” at her during Walters’ Most Fascinating People of 2011 special. At the time, Perry knew her 14-month marriage to husband Brand was close to being over, and now admits she wish she never sat down for the chat. “I shouldn’t have done the interview: I was playing Madison Square Garden that same night, and I knew that the end of my marriage was coming,” she recalled. “I’d prepped everyone that I was running late, but Barbara showed up at the original time anyway. When I got there, I apologized immediately, but then she said to me, ‘You know, I’ve only ever waited for one other person this long, and you know who that person was? Judy Garland. You know how she turned out, right?’” Perry added: “I was like, ‘Oh, snap! Yes, bitch!’ I think it’s the coolest thing that Barbara Walters shaded me. I just couldn’t tell her as we were sitting down for a mega-interview, ‘Hey, my marriage is falling apart. Give me a break.’” Brand, 38, would later file for divorce on Dec. 30, 2011, just two weeks after the special aired. The difficult situation Perry experienced at the time would soon lead to fighting off suicidal thoughts, which she then wrote about in her upcoming “By the Grace of God” track. “That song is evident of how tough it really was at a certain point. I asked myself, ‘Do I want to endure? Should I continue living?’” she said. “All the songs are real-life moments. I can only write autobiographically. I put all the evidence in the music. I tell my fans if they want to know the real truth about stuff, just listen to the songs.” Somewhere Russell is weeping. Continue reading

Elisabeth Hasselbeck: Not Leaving The View After All!

It helps give the show perspective. We have no plans for Elisabeth to leave this show.” Joy Behar, however, is definitely on the way out this summer, a decision arrived at by the comedian herself and which Walters described on air as “bittersweet.”

Bye Beyotch!!! Elisabeth Hasselbeck Fired From ‘The View’ Because She Was “Too Extreme And Right Wing”

Conserative crazy lady Elizabeh Hasslebeck has been kicked to the curb! Elisabeth Hasselbeck Fired From ‘The View’ Via US Magazine reports: The people have spoken. Elisabeth Hasselbeck, one of the five cohorts of ABC’s daytime talk show The View, will not be returning to the couch next season, following hot on the footsteps of fellow cohost Joy Behar, a source tells Us Weekly. According to the source, the show’s resident conservative voice is being ousted after market research revealed that she isn’t popular with TV audiences. “The viewers they polled all said she was too extreme and right wing,” the insider tells Us. “People did not watch the show because of Elisabeth. So they told her yesterday her contract would not be renewed.” Hasselbeck, 35, joined the cast of the daytime talk show in November 2003 after guest-hosting the show following Lisa Ling’s departure in 2002. Throughout the course of her time on The View, she has gotten into numerous arguments with her cohosts, including a heated argument with Rosie O’Donnell in 2007 over the War in Afghanistan and with Barbara Walters over Mitt Romney in 2012. Earlier this week, Behar, 70, announced her own departure from the show after 16 1/2 years. “You can’t stay forever on a show,” she told Good Morning America. “I am graciously exiting stage left. I’ve put in 16 1/2 years and felt the time was right. I want to explore other opportunities.” Adds the source to Us: “Joy says it just felt … tired and like work. She was over it.” Behar has been with the talk show since its inception in 1997, and currently hosts Joy Behar: Say Anything! on Current TV Will you miss Elisabath Hasselbeck???
