It wasn’t just Red Riding Hood that got dragged over the coals by the critical mass this week — fellow Friday release Battle: Los Angeles is apparently pretty bad, too. As Movieline’s own Michelle Orange wrote , Battle: Los Angeles is such a slave to the shaky cam aesthetic that it may as well have been shot by her iPhone-using mother. Ouch. Last week’s apocalypse hype frenzy died down a bit in the last few days, but Hollywood’s here to pick up the slack! According to the latest Battle: Los Angeles trailer, aliens will be invading in the near future to wipe out our species and harvest our natural resources. Go ahead – buy a big tub of popcorn and laugh it up, but keep in mind that recent scientific evidence totally backs this premise.

New Battle: Los Angeles Trailer Revels in B-Movie Mayhem

Remember that first Battle: Los Angeles teaser that was a little bit more elegantm artsy and awesome than anyone expected? Its editing and image composition were so well orchestrated with the unique, dreamy space pop that it looked like it might actually transcend the cheesy, B-movie trappings of the aliens-invade-Los Angeles genre. Well, B-movie fans rejoice. This new trailer has cheese to spare.
