According to ABC News: Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie are ending their marriage. According to a rep for the actress, the two have agreed upon “an amicable separation.” “They remain best friends and will continue to be in each other’s lives,” Duff’s publicist told ABC News. “They are dedicated to loving and parenting their amazing son, and ask for privacy at this time.” Duff, 26, and Comrie, 33, wed in 2010, and welcomed son Luca more than a year later. According to People magazine, though they tried to work out their issues in couples therapy, it ultimately became clear that they “work better as friends.” “There was no major incident – no big event between the two of them. They really did drift apart,” a source told the magazine. “They have put effort and thought into this decision for a long time…. Sharkeisha has been arrested, weeks after the brutal assault video that went viral and made her unusal first name a trending topic on social media. Sharkeisha Video The brutal clip shows 17-year-old ShaMichael Manuel getting sucker-punched in the face and crumpling to the ground, where Sharkeisha keeps attacking. Blindsided with a fist to the mouth, then pounded with uppercuts and kicked in the head while lying on the ground, Manuel could’vee been badly injured. As a result, many called for the arrest of Sharkeisha , and it happened. The Harris County, Tex., sheriff’s office confirmed that the foul-mouthed, cowardly bully has been arrested on charges of assault with bodily injury. They didn’t identify her or go into detail because she’s a minor. The now-infamous November 19 attack allegedly started because of a dispute over a boy, ShaMichael’s family told Houston’s KHOU-TV in the aftermath. She says she was set up for this, and that hurts most of all. The sickening footage has since gone viral, and that is the worst part of it. They are humiliated and saddened more than any physical pain could cause. Sharkeisha: Fight Video Heard ‘Round the World Various anti-bullying groups have decried the video , but that hasn’t stopped it from spreading and being viewed over 10 million times on the Internet. “The video’s just going and going,” ShaMichael’s mom, Olevia Henderson, said. “They’re making jokes, and they’re taunting. They’re glorifying Sharkeisha.” ShaMichael, a Cypress Creek H.S. senior, said she was lured to an apartment complex thinking she was going to pick up some of her stuff from friends. She no idea Sharkeisha was upset with her, and certainly no idea what to expect when the two girls came face-to-face … or not even face-to-face. “I was just in shock. I was like, ‘Oh my God. Did she really do this?’ You’re supposed to be my friend,” she told the station. “We were talking in school earlier that day.” “She made it seem like there was nothing wrong with her. The vicious beating left her with a black eye and a split lip, and her mother said she had trouble seeing out of her eye after Sharkeisha’s mauling. “I’m going to have to deal with this for the rest of my life. His political career destroyed long ago, former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick was sentenced Thursday to a stunning 28 years in prison for corruption. The apparent last step in a series of scandals that destroyed his career and helped steer a crisis-laden city even deeper into trouble was an emphatic one. Kwame Kilpatrick Sentenced to 28 Years Kilpatrick, who served as mayor from 2002-2008, fattened his bank account by tens of thousands of dollars using tactics better suited for a TV drama. He traveled the country in private planes and even strong-armed his campaign fundraiser for stacks of cash hidden in her bra, according to evidence at trial. “I’m ready to go so the city can move on,” Kilpatrick said. “The people here are suffering, they’re hurting. A great deal of that hurt I accept responsibility for.” In March, Kilpatrick, 43, was convicted of racketeering conspiracy , fraud, extortion and tax crimes. The government called it the “Kilpatrick enterprise.” It was described as a years-long scheme to shake down contractors and reward allies, and he was doomed in the end by his own text messages. Kilpatrick’s texts revealed efforts to fix deals for a pal, Bobby Ferguson, an excavator who got millions of dollars in city work through the water department. Contractors say they were forced to hire Ferguson or risk losing lucrative deals. The government alleged that he in turn shared cash with Kilpatrick. Agents who pored over bank accounts and credit cards said Kilpatrick spent $840,000 beyond his salary during his time as mayor of the Michigan city. Defense attorneys tried to portray that insane sum of money as generous gifts from political supporters who opened their wallets for birthdays or holidays. The government said Kwame Kilpatrick also tapped a nonprofit created to help distressed Detroit residents, to pay for yoga, golf clubs and travel. Judge Nancy Edmunds said before imposing the sentence: “A man with the charisma and ability of Mr. Kilpatrick chose to use his talents on personal aggrandizement and enrichment when he had the potential to do so much for the city.” The sentence was a win for prosecutors, who recommended Kilpatrick serve at least 28 years in prison, while defense attorneys argued for no more than 15. Kilpatrick, a Democrat, quit office in 2008 in a different scandal that was extraordinary at the time but seems smaller compared with the sweeping federal probe. Sexually explicit texts (again) revealed that Kilpatrick covered up an affair with aide Christine Beatty and reasons for firing police officers who suspected wrongdoing.

The jury ruled AEG Live did hire Dr. Conrad Murray, which was key for the family, but the jury then ruled Conrad Murray was NOT unfit or incompetent. Game over. Michael Jackson Family Loses Wrongful Death Lawsuit The issue that ultimately torpedoed Katherine Jackson’s case was whether Murray was competent to treat MJ when he was hired. The jury said he was. It’s an interesting finding, as Murray was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in criminal court for going rogue and doing things that killed Jackson. Because he was competent at the onset, however, and because AEG’s responsibility for his actions as well as Jackson’s is limited, the family lost. The billion-dollar wrongful death lawsuit alleged that the company negligently hired Dr. Murray and pushed the King of Pop too hard prior to his “This Is It” tour. AEG claimed Jackson hand-picked Murray and what went on between the music legend and his personal physician was between the two of them and that’s it. The jury foreman explained that Murray was competent to do the job for which he was hired – be a general practitioner to Jackson prior to the tour. Jurors felt that Murray had gone to a good school and was qualified, and that there was no reason AEG wouldn’t have signed off on it at the time. The juror added after the verdict, “That doesn’t mean we felt he was ethical. Had that question been in there, it could have been a different outcome.” Essentially, that trial took place two years ago, and Murray was convicted. Glanville said producers of Rimes’ new show with husband Eddie Cibrian, Brandi’s ex, asked her to appear; the show says it was the other way around. Says a source close to LeAnn Rimes’ reality show production: “Brandi’s agent saw one of the producers of LeAnn and Eddie’s show at an event recently and approached him about Brandi being on the show .” “Of course, that’s not what LeAnn or Eddie want at all, so they never responded. Not content, the agent contacted VH1 asking for $25,000 an episode without ever being solicited.” The source claims that when the producers didn’t respond either, Brandi Glanville started claiming they had made her an offer that she turned down. “She can’t stand that Eddie and LeAnn haven’t responded, let alone have no interest … I mean, why would they ever in a million years have her on their show?” “She thinks she’s some big draw.
