Today, Compton-based R&B singer Garren released his music video for his new single “Conversation”. The single is from his upcoming debut EP, Normal, which is set to release in February. The rising R&B star sings about a girl being ready for a more serious love on “Conversation”, leaving behind all the games and going after “a real one”. The accompanying visual tells an unconventional love story. After a girl breaks up with her man over his petty games, Garren swoops in, proving to be the man that’s ready to give her some quality time and “a little conversation”. The single is produced by Big Fruit and the music video is directed by A Plus Filmz. “The story behind this song is realizing that the women need more respect, more appreciation, and just more value,” Garren explains, “We as men, can help raise that for them and this is me vocalizing the different things that they actually need from what they currently get. Women need a change and they deserve a change from all of this degrading, I’m here to bring that.” Born and raised in Compton, Garren gained early success with his single “Wrong Way”, which was premiered by Ebro on Beats 1 and charted in the top ten. Shortly after, his collaboration with YFN Lucci on “You Know That” surpassed 3 million views. Outside of music, Garren remains an active member of his community, giving back to charities and working with local nonprofits. Garren’s upcoming EP “Normal” is set to release this February. Image via Getty New App Aims To Bring Legal Consent To Sex Into The Digital Age Rape, sexual assault and sexual harassment have always been hot button issues, but the topic has reached fever pitch of late with the emergence of the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements. Well, according to Gizmodo , a Dutch tech company is looking to make both women and men safer when it comes time for sex. Yes, there’s an app for that. A company called LegalThings is developing an app called LegalFlings that allows potential partners to essentially sign a legally binding document that enumerates which sexual acts they consent to prior to doin’ the nasty. Some Black Mirror isht, we know. This might sound good in theory to some, but there are obviously NUMEROUS flaws with the practicality of this app. At any point during sex, someone can change their mind. You can’t just anally penetrate someone who is scared or screaming in pain just because they said “yeah we can try that” prior to sex. Consent doesn’t work that way. Technology is great and all, but c’mon. SMH.

Big Baller Brand Given F-Rating By Better Business Bureau LaVar Ball’s Big Baller Brand is facing some serious problems with an even bigger BBB — the Better Business Bureau. For the unfamiliar, The Better Business Bureau is a nonprofit organization that has been around for over 100 years that monitors business practices in the interest of consumer protection. According to them… Big Baller Brand is a borderline scam-level operation . Mind you, the company’s ZO2 shoes go for $495, with sandals starting at $220, and the Melo Ball 1’s are $395. Hoodies start at around $100. But that price tag isn’t exactly coming with a high-quality product or particularly good customer service, let customer reviews tell it. According to NYDN, the company has received 32 complaints and 44 negative reviews — no positive reviews AT ALL — on the Better Business Bureau. Those figures exceed the limit to give LaVar’s brand the lowest rating possible by the business evaluator. The most common complaints are from customers who never received their products , weren’t refunded, or received the wrong items altogether. And apparently, when the company fails to deliver on product and customers inquire about their shipment status, the company calls them broke and does not refund the money. One customer wrote on the site last November: “This company does not offer refunds. I purchased 2 items and was told there would be a 1-2 week delay. I have been waiting 6 weeks now, and when I asked why it was taking so long, I was called a ‘small baller’. At this point I believe they have decided to steal my money.” The Better Business Bureau reports that they’ve reached out to BBB multiple times to help with their consumer issues…but unsurprisingly the offer has been pretty much ignored. Sheesh. We guess the issues should have been obvious when not even Jay-Z managed to receive his Big Baller purchase from LaVar & crew. SMH. Getty/WENN
