SMH… Man, this kid had the wrong ideas about life. Lucky for him he is white and the public is just chalking it up to a phase. According to NY Daily News reports : The FBI arrested a 20-year-old Ohio man Wednesday for allegedly plotting an ISIS-inspired attack on the U.S. Capitol. Christopher Lee Cornell of Green Township, Ohio, was arrested after months of declaring his dedication to ISIS online and conspiring his terror attack with an undercover FBI informant. Cornell allegedly planned to detonate pipe bombs in the Capitol building and then open fire on people running from the blast, according to a criminal complaint filed in federal court. He is charged with attempting to kill a U.S. government officer and possessing a firearm. The FBI started monitoring Cornell in August after he started posting videos and tweeting his support for ISIS. He used the online alias Raheel Mahrus Ubaydah and tweeted under the handle @ISBlackFlags. As of Wednesday afternoon, the Twitter account is deactivated. What a dummy. If y’all don’t already know — Big Brother is DEFINITELY watching social media! Which coincidentally is where this old yearbook photo of Cornell (who graduated in ’12 and was working a low paying seasonal job at the time of his arrest) is floating around. The Joint Terrorism Task Force arrested Cornell Wednesday morning after he bought two semiautomatic rifles and 600 rounds of ammunition from the Point Blank Range and Gun Shop in Colerain Township, Ohio. FBI officers told the store’s employees about Cornell’s plan days beforehand and said they should sell guns to Cornell when he came in, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports. The criminal complaint says Cornell considered those purchases his “final steps” before the attack. Cornell’s father, John Cornell, told WKRC-TV his son was a “mama’s boy” and “homebody” who spent most of his time alone and showed a new interest in Islam in recent months. John Cornell told CNN Christopher visited a mosque the day before his arrest and left a note to say he was leaving home to live with a friend. John said his son also claimed to have recently converted to Islam. John told CNN he believed Christopher was “coerced into a lot of this” by the FBI. He said Christopher “wouldn’t hurt a fly” and is “a kind, loveable person.” Fox News reporter Chad Pergram tweeted that sources said the plot was “aspirational” and not considered a serious danger to the public. Mind you had this kid been Black and they would be tearing his social media apart looking for gang signs, kush references and gold teeth and calling him a thug or hoodlum. SMH! Meanwhile as “not serious” as folks are trying to play this the kid was running his mouth to the FBI informant claiming his plans had been giving the thumbs up from real terrorists abroad, including Anwar Awlaki (who happens to be dead BTW) Cornell wrote the informant in August saying, “I believe that we should just wage jihad under our own orders and plan attacks and everything… I believe we should meet up and make our own group in alliance with the Islamic State here and plan operations ourselves.” He later met up with the informant in October and November in Cincinnati and was “saving up” for the attacks and researching bomb-making. Sounds serious enough for us.
