Earlier, third-place finisher Bristol Palin announced that a win would be like “a big middle finger to all the people out there who hate my mom and hate me.” Because that’s what the show is all about – dancing the haters . Jake Pavelka, who lasted five weeks last season on Dancing With the Stars , can relate to Bristol Palin . He knows a thing or two about having two left feet. While Jake’s popularity couldn’t match Bristol the Pistol, who made to the finals, he says it’s great that she lasted this long – and she has a shot tonight. “It’s a level playing field. The score is zero, zero, zero,” the former Bachelor and Bachelorette star said. “It’s what makes Dancing With the Stars special.” From one bad dancer to another … “It really proves that when America votes, it’s what drives the show. It’s just like American Idol , it’s not decided by the judges. It’s decided by America.” Well, the judges do play a role, as we discussed in our Dancing With the Stars recap earlier. But his point is essentially correct, and Bristol’s proof of it. When asked who his dream star for DWTS would be? “I think Jennifer Love Hewitt should do Dancing With the Stars . Security tightened after reports of ‘a threatening letter containing white powder’ was received by the show. By MTV News staff Bristol Palin Photo: Frederick M. Brown/ Getty Images The first part of the “Dancing With the Stars” season finale on Monday night was intense and contentious before the performances even began. According TMZ , security at the show had to be heightened after a white powder was discovered at CBS Studios in Los Angeles late on Friday. Sources at the show said that it appeared as though controversial contestant Bristol Palin was the intended target. “The L.A.P.D., L.A. City and FBI Hazardous Materials officials responded to a report of a threatening letter containing white powder,” the FBI told TMZ. Though the Los Angeles Police Department determined that the substance turned out to be talcum powder, that didn’t stop the producers of the show from being on high alert. According to a report at Popeater , security was tightened all around the studio, especially surrounding Palin. “Everyone is on high alert,” a source told gossip reporter Rob Shuter. “It’s like a scene from ‘The Bodyguard,’ with Bristol playing the leading lady.” Monday night’s episode went off without any reported security incidents. As far as the scoring is concerned, Palin finished in third place behind “Dirty Dancing” actress Jennifer Grey and Disney star Kyle Massey. The winner will be announced live on the show on Tuesday night (November 23). Palin has been the center of a great deal of controversy over the past few weeks, as she has remained on the show despite scoring significantly lower than many of her fellow competitors. Her continued survival has inspired talk of conspiracies involving Tea Party ballot-stuffing. There was even a bizarre incident involving a man in Wisconsin who shot his television in a rage after learning of Palin’s advancement to the “Dancing With the Stars” finale last week.
