Kim Kardashian On Kanye West: ‘You Never Know What The Future Holds’

On ‘Today,’ reality starlet discusses shout-out in rapper’s new ‘Theraflu.’ By Jocelyn Vena Kim Kardashian on “Today” on Friday Photo: NBC What’s up with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West ? After being spotted around New York City together this week, and Yeezy proclaiming his love for the reality starlet on his track “Theraflu,” fans are very curious about their relationship status. After years of romance rumors — and denials — could it be that these two friends have decided to add benefits to the mix? When Kardashian sat down for an interview on Friday’s (April 6) “Today,” she didn’t exactly clarify what the twosome are up to. “I haven’t looked on the Internet in a while; it’s a new rule in life. The movie was really interesting,” she laughed about catching “The Hunger Games” with the MC. “I completely respect and understand you have to ask these questions, but I said before, Kanye and I have been friends for years, and you never know what the future holds. I like the song.” The conversation then turned to her split from Kris Humphries . Of wanting to finalize her divorce from the basketball player, she said, “I would love one,” noting that she didn’t want to dig too deep on the subject out of respect for Humphries’ privacy. “I have closed that chapter. I’m ready to move on.” She later responded to any critics who believe she got married for her reality show. “That’s something that’s really ridiculous to me. Why would I marry someone for ratings? I didn’t need that. I fall hard, and I followed my heart. When things don’t work out, that’s sometimes how life is. When I realized it fast, what’s the point in dragging something out?” Kardashian also discussed her infamous flour bombing at an event in L.A. After learning that a PETA activist had dumped the flour on Kim, who frequently wears fur, her sister Khlo

Pauly D Confesses He’s ‘Addicted To The Cameras’

DJ talks to MTV’s Sway Calloway in YRB magazine about the upsides of being in the spotlight. By John Mitchell Pauly D on the cover of YRB magazine Photo: YRB Magazine Pauly D is blazing his own trail independent of “The Jersey Shore.” The reality TV star is busily working the DJ circuit and hopes to break out on his own as a recording artist with his in-the-works debut album for 50 Cent’s G-Note Records. But he tells YRB magazine that, for now, he’s completely comfortable having cameras document his attempts to change the course of his career on his new show “The Pauly D Project.” “I’m addicted to the cameras now. It’s almost as if I expect them to be outside now,” Pauly D tells MTV’s own Sway Calloway in the magazine’s latest issue. “There are times you wish you had a certain amount of anonymity, but in the end, the good outweighs the bad. Believe me when I say that.” The “good” he refers to includes the fame “Jersey Shore” has brought him and the way he’s been able to parlay it into a successful career beyond the show. His fame, mixed with his skills as a DJ, helped him land an opening spot on Britney Spears’ successful “Femme Fatale” arena tour, which had the DJ spinning for audiences numbering in the thousands each night. Spears is set to appear on the “Pauly D Project” and Pauly D tells Sway he has approached the pop star about appearing on his album. “Of course I did,” he says. “She liked the idea of that, and we’re actually in talks about that now, so hopefully it works out.” Pauly knows some will always view his DJ career as little more than a vanity side project, but says the haters actually motivate him to work harder to prove himself. “There have been plenty of DJs that didn’t take me serious because of the ‘Jersey Shore’ show, but once they came out to one of my sets, their opinions changed,” he tells YRB. “I have had some of the haters come up to me after my set and tell me, ‘Dude you are really legit, you killed that set.’ I love when I can change people’s perceptions of me.” Right now he’s focusing on popular hits to get his point across. Asked by Sway about his go-to songs when he’s spinning, he name-checked some Top 40 staples. “Right now anything by LMFAO is a banger. Rihanna is super hot, Pitbull is tearing it up, and without a doubt, Chris Brown is doing the damn thing right now.” In fact, one of Pauly’s first mainstream remixes was of Brown’s “Turn Up the Music.” He used the opportunity to prove his skills as a producer. “I had just signed the record deal, and I needed to show people that I can produce,” Pauly says. “I took a banging song that I already knew was going to be a hit, and I gave it more kick for in the club. I produced a beat for it to get the fists pumping, and it’s a smash now.” He sees his style as a combination of two world-famous DJs, David Guetta and DJ Khaled. “I gotta say I’m a mixture of the two. I love dance music just as much as I’m all about hip-hop,” he says. “They actually call me ‘the Bridge’ because I bridge the gap between house and hip-hop. I make the house music person, who may not normally vibe to hip-hop, appreciate the music and vice versa.” Whether he’ll be able to bridge the gap between his current reality celebrity and a future as a mainstream DJ, producer and singer remains to be seen, but he’s clearly off to a good start. Will Ferrell Announces ‘Anchorman 2’

‘It is official, there will be a sequel to ‘Anchorman,'” says Will Ferrell. By Gil Kaufman Will Ferrell Photo: Getty Images Ferrell, appearing as leisure-suit wearing newsman Ron Burgundy, broke the news while making a surprise appearance on the “Conan” show that thrilled the audience. Taking the stage in a, yes, burgundy colored suit and wide, striped tie, Ferrell/Burgundy, ripped off a wicked flute solo, then explained to host Conan O’Brien, “I like to keep my chops up, jam with the cats here … smoke a little tea afterwards, see if a little backstage Judy ends up on my lap.” After complimenting the host on his broadcasting skills, Burgundy shared one small criticism with O’Brien. “You look awful,” he said. “You look like someone put a bright red fright wig on a skeleton and chucked it out of a helicopter.” But Burgundy wasn’t just there to play the flute and insult his host, he also had an exciting bit of news. “I want to announce this to everyone here in the Americas,” he said. “To my friends, in Spain, Turkey and the U.K., including England … as of 0900 Mountain Time, Paramount Pictures and myself, Ronald Joseph Aaron Burgundy, have come to terms on a sequel for ‘Anchorman.’ It is official, there will be a sequel to ‘Anchorman.'” And with that, Burgundy played himself off the stage with a second wicked flute solo. Back in early 2010, “Anchorman” director and co-writer Adam McKay
told MTV News that he expected much of the first movie’s cast to come along for the sequel, including Steve Carell and Paul Rudd, as well as Christina Applegate, David Koechner Chris Parnell and Fred Willard. “We had an idea and we contacted Steve and Paul and Koechner and Christina and checked in with everyone and they were all game for it,” McKay said at the time. “It’s a tricky movie because everyone went and did really well after it, so everyone’s prices went up and everyone’s time got a little more valuable. But at the same time, graciously, Steve and Paul and everyone agreed to cut their price to come and do it, which you don’t see very often in Hollywood — and cut their price substantially .” The original grossed more than $91 million worldwide. Ferrell and McKay will once again co-write for the sequel and McKay will direct again, with production slated to begin at the end of this year for a 2013 release. By Gil Kaufman, with reporting by Sway Calloway Pauly D Photo: Ian Spanier After five seasons of “Jersey Shore,” we know DJ Pauly D pretty well. He’s the ultimate prankster who never beefs with anyone, takes crucial care of his beloved sneaker collection and has a crunchy blowout that defies all laws of physics. But the Rhode Island kid has many more sides to show us, and he plans to put them all on display in his spin-off show, “The Pauly D Project.” When asked what parts of his personality “Shore” watchers are missing out on, Pauly told MTV News’ Sway, “Just how much I am all about my home, my family and my friends — you don’t really see that.” In the show — which debuts tonight (March 29) at 10:30 p.m. ET, right after the reboot of “Punk’d” — viewers will tag along as Pauly hits Las Vegas for his DJ residency at the Palms Hotel and Casino with his whole crew in tow, including turntable inspiration Biggie, bodyguard Jerry and wingman Ryan. They’ll also get to see Pauly go home to visit his friends and family and sign a mind-blowing record deal with the G-Note division of 50 Cent’s G-Unit Records. Oh, and did we mention he also hits the road as the opening act for Britney Spears ? Yeah, buddy. “Now you get to see me take my closest friends on the road with me from Rhode Island, and you get to see Rhode Island,” he said. “I’m really excited just to show the world that side of me.” His hookup with 50 is already paying dividends, as the G-Unit General recently tapped Pauly to help out in the first commercial for the rapper’s Street King energy drink . Pauly jumped in front of the camera with 50 and legendary comedian Joan Rivers for what the MC said was a “real oddball group” intended to target a wide range of potential audiences. Jessica Simpson Elle Cover: Too Hot For Safeway!

Apparently Jessica Simpson’s naked, pregnant body on the cover of April’s Elle magazine has not been well received by those at Safeway supermarkets. The attention-grabbing photo of Jessica Simpson nude has been covered up with pieces of cardboard and/or turned around, the Arizona Daily Star reports. A spokeswoman for the grocery chain said it made the move to censor the cover following “multiple complaints” about the Fashion Star mentor’s photo. Simpson said in an interview that that Demi Moore and Britney Spears -like fully nude, pregnant cover pic was all her idea. Well, and their idea. But in this case: “They didn’t even ask me to do that,” she said on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show. “It was my idea. It kind of just seemed a natural thing for me to do.” “I’m like 170 pounds and I wanted to pose nude,” she explained. “I try to be like 110. It’s funny to be at your heaviest and feel the most confident. I just take such pride in being a mom! I just love my body more than ever now.” What do you think of the cover photo above?

Madonna: Does The Queen Still Wear The Crown?

Above the Buzz weighs Madge’s MDNA against the recent releases of the new millennium’s biggest pop princesses. By Jocelyn Vena Madonna Photo: Getty Images There’s a reason she’s called the Queen of Pop. Madonna ‘s managed to write and rewrite the pop playbook over and over (and over) again for three decades. She’s captivated and empowered young women to grow up to become whatever it is they want to be. (I’m one of them.) When others have come and gone, Madonna has remained relevant. She’s influenced others and, yes, even herself (see her new video for “Girl Gone Wild” ). With her latest album release, MDNA, just days away from dropping, the big question that some might be wondering is: Does she still have it? Can she still make an album that breaks ground, sets trends and sounds uniquely like Madonna? Well, yes. Like Madonna albums before it, MDNA seeks to explore just how imperfect love is and the cruelty of heartbreak. There’s no sign of Dr. Luke, Ryan Tedder, Tricky Stewart, The-Dream, Max Martin or any other producers this generation of pop princesses call upon when they need that perfect Top 40 club banger. If Madge had called on those guys, well, that would have been reductive . Over the last 12 months, seemingly every one of today’s pre-eminent female singers has released new music, and all of it has been dance music (well, not Adele). So, now it seems as good a time as any for Madonna to capitalize and redirect the conversation to her, because when it comes to dance pop, it all comes back to her anyway. Larry Rudolph explained last year that he felt that Britney Spears’ Femme Fatale was her Ray of Light, recalling Madonna’s fan-cherished 1998 album, on which she explored trippy electronica with the help of William Orbit . (Orbit, as it turns out, is back for more on MDNA. ) But can anything really be Ray ? FF relied on the electronic sounds of Ray to reclaim Brit’s place on the dance floor but never delved into the lyrical depths that Madge’s album did. Then there was Lady Gaga and Born This Way. Its lead single certainly paid homage to Madge’s own “Express Yourself,” and the dark and industrial sound that made up much of BTW harked back to the sounds that Madonna has explored throughout her career. Her influence was certainly felt as Gaga sang about sex and love in different languages over grinding beats. But, Gaga and her team seemed to take too many on-the-nose cues from her kindred pop spirit. Madonna’s influence on pop is no better boiled down to these two women and their music. They show the two sides of the singer: the light-hearted, glitter-wearing disco queen and the late-night, politically minded party vixen. However, Madonna’s desire to always push sexual boundaries certainly showed up on Rihanna’s Talk That Talk, where she very openly sang about all the ways her boy can make her happy. Interestingly enough, both women have songs about birthdays (Rihanna with “Birthday Cake” and M with “B-Day Song”) where they both use a euphemism about licking the icing off. We hope no further explanation is needed about that. So how does MDNA stack up to these girls’ work? Quite well, actually. Aggressive at times and vulnerable at others, it proves that Madge still has it. She can still party with the best of them. And, for that, we’re all thankful. Do you think Madonna still has it?
