Britney Spears Throws Sweaty Dance Party In ‘Till The World Ends’ Video

The pop star escapes the apocalypse in Ray Kay-directed clip. By Jocelyn Vena Britney Spears in her “Till The World Ends” video Photo: Jive Remember when Britney Spears threw a sweaty, dirty dance party in an unfinished apartment and slinked around wearing underwear over her pants in 2001’s “Slave 4 U”? Well, the party is back, and it’s as dirty as ever in the clip for “Till the World Ends,” which premiered on Wednesday (April 6). As befits the song title, the video takes place during the apocalypse, on December 21, 2012. Spears takes her party underground, beneath the sewers of an anonymous big city, somewhere in the world. As the buildings crumble around them and fiery masses fall from the sky, all Britney and her pals want to do is flirt and dance. The video was shot in Los Angeles in mid-March, and though Spears complained to us about the “grimy and gross” shooting conditions in a dank warehouse, her energy never wavers in the finished product. Directed by Ray Kay (Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga) and choreographed by Brian Friedman (who has worked with Britney throughout this current Femme Fatale era), the director’s cut of the video is a sexy mash-up of Spears doing what she does best: groping half-naked guys, giving the camera bedroom eyes and being sassy in a number of leather jackets and skintight bodysuits, including a red one that seems to be a nod to her Martian Queen catsuit from “Oops!… I Did It Again.” She smiles big and bright for the camera, and then looks sultry as she prances around and tosses her hair about like some dystopian siren. A closer look at her frisky pop-and-lock moves will be further explored in a choreography cut of the video to be released later on. While Spears spends much of the party seemingly happy to be away from the dangers of the apocalypse outside, eventually she emerges to a world that didn’t end, smiling as the sun bathes her in its warm glow. Pauly D Takes Us Behind Britney Spears’ Las Vegas Show

‘Jersey Shore’ star gives MTV News a mini-tour of Rain nightclub. By Jocelyn Vena Pauly D Photo: MTV News On Sunday night, Britney Spears took her fans behind the scenes of her life as she prepped the release of her latest studio album, Femme Fatale , in the MTV special “Britney Spears: I Am the Femme Fatale.” She allowed cameras to follow her as she hit the studio to work with will.iam, attended dance rehearsals, filmed the video for her song “Hold It Against Me” and performed in Las Vegas. DJ Pauly D was on hand for that Vegas performance at the Palms Hotel and Casino, where he warmed up the crowd for the femme fatale herself. Before the night even kicked off, Pauly took MTV News for a mini-tour of Rain nightclub, where Spears was set to take the stage for her debut Femme Fatale performance. He walked our cameras through the club, showing off the stage on which Spears would later perform “Hold It Against Me,” “Big Fat Bass” and “Till The World Ends.” As he walked across the dance floor, which would be occupied by Spears’ fans much later in the night, he made his way to the DJ booth, where he spun tunes and introduced the star the night of the big show, which was included in the special. “Me, Britney and Vegas is the perfect combination. I love Las Vegas. I love music. Britney Spears loves music. Her new album’s out, and who better to be onstage with her than DJ Pauly D?” he said. “It’s amazing. I like to see my name on marquees anyway, but now, having it associated with Britney Spears. I’ve been a fan of her my whole life. I used to always play her music, so it’s unreal.” Did you catch “Britney Spears: I Am the Femme Fatale”? Tell us below! Britney Spears ‘Legitimizes’ Pauly D’s DJ Career, ‘Jersey Shore’ Star Says

‘Britney Spears is performing her new album at Rain while I’m DJing. I couldn’t ask for anything more,’ Pauly D says of last Friday’s Vegas gig. By Jocelyn Vena Pauly D Photo: MTV News Shortly after it was announced that Pauly D would be the resident DJ at Rain nightclub at the Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, the “Jersey Shore” star was bestowed with another honor: He was to DJ Britney Spears’ surprise gig in Las Vegas , which was taped for her MTV special “Britney Spears: I Am the Femme Fatale,” airing Sunday at 9 p.m. ET. “For me, I love Las Vegas, I love DJing. It’s my heart. I locked down this huge residency, which I always wanted, and now I find out Britney Spears is performing her new album at Rain while I’m DJing. I couldn’t ask for anything more,” Pauly D dished to MTV News last Friday. “I’m at Las Vegas now. What it means to DJ a concert like a Britney Spears concert or something like that, it’s an association with monsters like Britney Spears and it just legitimizes your career. And it’s just fun like being onstage with Britney Spears performing like she’s performing. I love it. I couldn’t ask for more.” Given that Pauly D plays a mix of popular music and more underground house, he admits that he doesn’t have to change his style up too much for a gig with Spears. “I keep up on music. I keep up on current music. I play everything. I’m open format,” he explained. “I play geared to the crowd, so I don’t prep my set. For this I go out there, I kind of wing it. I look at the crowd, I have an idea. I like to play the new stuff that’s hot. I feed off the crowd.” Pauly also explained the rules he has for his craft. “A DJ should not play the artist’s songs at her concert ’cause she has to perform these songs,” he said. “I’m not going to be playing any Britney before she performs; maybe after. I’ll let her perform, let her shine ’cause it’s her night.” The Vegas show is one of many highlights in the “I Am the Femme Fatale” special. Spears gives fans a taste of what it was like making the album, including behind-the-scenes footage of her in the studio with will.i.am and an intimate chat with Sway Calloway in which she opens up about her life and her career. To see what Spears has to say about her new album and watch her as she puts the finishing touches on it, don’t miss the “Britney Spears: I Am the Femme Fatale” special, airing Sunday, April 3, at 9 p.m. ET on MTV. ‘Hangover Part II’ Is ‘More Epic’ Than Original, Director Says

‘People are going to be really surprised,’ Todd Phillips tells MTV News. By Aly Semigran, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Photo: Warner Bros. Who’s afraid of the wolf pack? If the just-released trailer for “The Hangover Part II” is any indication of what moviegoers can expect come May 26, then it’s a whole lot of crazy antics. Yes, even crazier than before. The two-and-a-half-minute clip features the “Hangover” wolf pack — Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis and Justin Bartha — up to their old tricks (losing someone after a boozy night on the town, finding exotic animals in their bathroom) in a new setting (they’ve gone from wreaking havoc in Las Vegas to Thailand). So when MTV News caught up with “The Hangover Part II” director Todd Phillips at the 2011 CinemaCon in none other than Vegas, we had to ask if there were any way the sequel could live up to the wildly successful 2009 comedy. Phillips, who was also at the helm of the original (which brought in more than $467 million worldwide), said he believed “The Hangover Part II” is actually better than the first. “Audiences have really responded in the same way,” Phillips said of the reaction to the follow-up. “It’s just been out of this world. I think people are going to be really surprised.” In fact, Phillips himself gave the movie a stamp of approval that could sway even the most hard-core “Hangover” purists: “I think it’s a funnier film, and I think it’s a more epic film.” And while the 40-year-old writer/director said he still loves the original, he believes the sequel “just turned out to be a more satisfying film.” As if that weren’t enough, it seems the first film, which featured, among other things, drugging a Bengal tiger, a run-in with Mike Tyson and grown men getting tased by children, will be tame compared to the mishaps that occur in the latest. As Phillips explained: “We had less constraints on us — and I don’t mean money; just freedom to do whatever we wanted.” Do you think “The Hangover Part II” will be better than the original? Britney Spears’ MTV Special Is ‘For The Fans,’ Manager Says

‘I want them to know that Britney is back and better than ever,’ Larry Rudolph tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena Britney Spears performs “Till the World Ends” at Rain Nightclub in the Palms Las Vegas Photo: Roderick Trestrail Britney Spears gives fans an inside look at her life and the making of her latest album in the MTV special “Britney Spears: I Am the Femme Fatale.” MTV News has of course been tracking the release of her record, which finally dropped on Tuesday, but we were also on hand as she performed in Las Vegas at the Palms’ Rain nightclub. Fans will get to see the show — and much more — for themselves when the special airs on Sunday, April 3, at 9 p.m. ET on MTV. When we spoke to Spears’ longtime manager, Larry Rudolph, in Vegas, he told us Brit wanted to put on a spectacle for her fans. She wanted to take her first Femme Fatale live performance to Vegas because much like the city, Spears’ concerts have lots of sparkle, pyro and razzmatazz, he explained. “We chose this place; we chose the Palms because the Palms is where Britney has so much history,” he said. “We performed here with the Britney album, we did a similar thing. We’re doing this eight years later now and we’re doing it for the fans.” Rudolph stressed that Spears has one main goal: to entertain her fans in the Femme Fatale era. “For her, it was really important to do it for the fans the first time she was out there,” he explained. “To do it here in Las Vegas, where everything is bigger and everything is more exciting and the fans are here for her, this was the place to do it. “I want them to know — when the fans watch this — I want them to know that Britney is back and better than ever, not that she’s ever gone anywhere,” he continued. “But she’s back and she’s better than ever.” Don’t miss “Britney Spears: I Am the Femme Fatale” on Sunday, April 3, at 9 p.m. ET on MTV. Britney Spears Models For Dolce & Gabbana

In music and in fashion, Britney Spears is back on top. She’s not renowned for stepping out in high-fashion threads (she prefers the hooded sweatshirt and jeans look, y’all), but she sure looks the part if she tries. Case in point? Sexy ensembles from Italian designers Dolce & Gabbana in a new set of promotional ads for the company. See Britney Spears pictures below: “We love Britney Spears and we love to dance to her new songs! We can’t wait to hear the whole album,” the design duo told the Telegraph (UK). “She has always been among our favourite artists because she has been able to remain true to herself and to her style throughout the years.” “With her music she influenced and inspired generations of people for more than 10 years, and we can’t but congratulate her for this achievement.” Indeed. She looks a little confused in the first image above, but that’s pretty much par for the course these days. Confused but oh-so-sensual.

Britney Spears Sued For Fragrance Fraud

Britney Spears is being sued by her former business partners for breach of contract, fraud and deceit, and it all stems from her signature scent. The pop singer was slapped with a $10 million lawsuit because of Radiance and a multi-million branding deal with beauty giant Elizabeth Arden. Britney and father Jamie are accused of being “sneaky and underhanded” in moves to cut Brand Sense Partner, LLC., out of a licensing pact. Another week, another legal saga for Britney Spears . “Britney secretly made a deal with Elizabeth Arden in an underhanded effort to circumvent and evade obligations to Brand Sense,” the suit states . “Effectively, Britney improperly and illegally cut Brand Sense out of the deal.” Brand Sense accuses Britney of “concealment and evasive actions.” We have no idea who’s in the right and who’s in the wrong here, but we strongly suggest she name her next scent Poo Cocktail . So seductive.

Paris Hilton Kalls Out Kim Kardashian

Perhaps things are not all good between Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian. While promoting her new shoe line in Mexico this week, the hotel heiress who made celebrity sex tapes into a profitable art form told The Associated Press: “There’s so many people out there who try to imitate what I do, but I am the original. There is nothing like me.” Hmmm… to whom could Paris possibly be referring?!? Claiming she has “the best fashion sense,” Hilton let her ego truly run amok during the event. She said: “The girls all love my style. When they buy my products, they can be like me!” And who is this person? Someone who has “done everything that I wanted to do,” Paris added. “I feel very blessed that I have been very successful in every area… There is nothing else to do!” Well… except star in another reality show , of course. The World According to Paris premieres on Oxygen this spring. [Photo: Pacific Coast News]

Justin Bieber Covers Rebecca Black, Britney in Concert

It doesn’t take much for Justin Bieber to make fans go crazy in concert. His mere appearance does it every time. But the 17-year old really had audience members screaming during a tour stop this week when he asked what single they wanted to hear. Between shrieks for “Baby,’ Justin broke into a couple quick covers. He sampled “Friday” by Rebecca Black and then “Baby One More Time” by Britney Spears. Eventually, Justin gave in to his supporters’ demands, of course. Watch the fun unfold now: Justin Bieber Covers Rebecca Black, Britney

Britney Spears ‘Stumbled Upon Me’ For Femme Fatale, Sabi Says

‘I grew up watching Britney Spears,’ pop newcomer tells MTV News about landing a feature on ‘(Drop Dead) Beautiful.’ By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Audrey Kim Sabi Photo: MTV News There are three collaborations on Britney Spears’ brand-new Femme Fatale. Black Eyed Peas leading man will.i.am produced and appears on “Big Fat Bass,” Travis Barker lends his drumming skills to the bonus track “Don’t Keep Me Waiting,” and the club track “(Drop Dead) Beautiful” features a newcomer: singer/rapper Sabi. MTV News caught up with Sabi a few weeks before Britney’s album dropped on Tuesday and, at the time, the pop newbie was still pretty floored about her appearance on the album, which is the focus of “Britney Spears: I Am the Femme Fatale,” a special airing Sunday at 9 p.m. ET. on MTV. “The way I understand is that Britney Spears is constantly looking for [new stuff and] had an ear out for new talent and fresh music,” she explained. “Somehow, she stumbled upon me in my old group days. I was in a group called the Bangz. “And it’s just pretty crazy, I mean, I grew up watching Britney Spears,” she added. “All my friends watched Britney Spears and we even had a routine to ‘Hit Me Baby One More Time’ that we were gonna perform, like, for a middle-school talent show. So it’s a dream come true. Never did I ever think that I’d be in the mix with Britney. I’m just lucky.” In fact, the opportunity to work with the pop star was so surreal that Sabi refused to believe her luck until the ink was dry. “I was like, ‘Absolutely not,’ ” she joked about her initial response to the collaboration offer. “Duh! I was like, ‘Yeah!’ I don’t know, it was crazy. I was like, ‘This is surreal.’ I’m the kind of person that’s like, once I hear good news, until it’s solidified and I see the actual proof it’s a done deal, I [don’t] get excited. I was like, ‘This is great, but so many things can happen in between the time I’m supposed to record it.’ But when it was solidified, I was like, ‘Wow, this is crazy.’ It’s dope.” What do you think of Britney’s collabo with Sabi?
