Brooke Mueller is aghast. You really think she’d walk around the street clutching a crack pipe, as a photo taken this week insinuated?!? Please. Charlie Sheen’s troubled ex has a reasonable explanation for that: it was just a little pot. According to friends who spoke to TMZ, Mueller admits she smokes legal, medicinal marijuana sometimes due to anxiety. She doesn’t ever smoke crack, reportedly, though she does dabble in the occasional cocaine. But a binge only lasts for 12 hours and then she pops into rehab. There. All better! As you might expect, Brooke doesn’t believe there’s any reason for the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services to get involved or test her for drugs . And that organization apparently agrees: no one from it has questioned her or Sheen in over six months.
Two members of the paparazzi were handcuffed by the cops after allegedly blowing through red lights while chasing Michael Jackson’s daughter, Paris. TMZ says the photographers ( not TMZ or THG staff members) were allegedly chasing a car Paris was in, blowing red lights and driving recklessly. No arrests have been made because police didn’t see the chase take place. There will not even be any citations given, for exactly the same reason. Still, the paps were thwarted and beat it. Paris, the middle child of Michael’s three, in a photo taken last month . No word if Prince Michael and Blanket were also with her. A crime report will be written and forwarded to the L.A. City Attorney for possible prosecution, so that’s something. We’re just glad Paris is okay.
This is as troubling as it is baffling. Despite the extensive history of substance use and abuse by both Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller, the custody settlement between this former couple does NOT require either side submit to periodic drug testing. Jimmy Whittemore, a 22-year-old aspiring actor, broke in and trashed the NYC theater where David Letterman’s Late Show tapes and caused $5,000 in damages. The idiot was busted early Sunday morning after police say he kicked in the theater’s doors, trashed the box office, lobby and a bunch of personal property. Fortunately, Dave’s coffee mugs and Paul’s keyboards are 100 percent fine. Letterman’s stage is padlocked so the dumbass couldn’t get in. Cops say he has no direct connection to the star or studio and blamed it all on alcohol. Whittemore was hospitalized briefly after his arrest for a cut on his head and was charged with burglary and third degree criminal mischief. Jerk is being held on $6,000 bail.

This is interesting news for two reasons: Someone is actually watching The World According to Paris . Charlie Sheen’s ex might finally be on the road to recovery. Faces such as this and scenes such as this made Brooke Mueller realize: I need help. This insider tells E! News that Mueller has now completed the program , regularly attends AA meetings and has a sponsor. “She is out. But apparently it wasn’t enough, as the ex-wife of Charlie Sheen has submitted court documents that demand Warner Bros. withhold $55,000 per month from whatever it owes the actor; Mueller is not confident he will be able to meet his child support obligations. Sheen is not actually behind on his payments, mind you. But insiders say Mueller wants to take every precaution she can and has asked the studio to wire the monthly figure directly into her bank account. Give Charlie Sheen credit for not sugar coating details, at least. The actor says he’s teaching his 2-year-old twin boys new words this weekend, like “rehab.” That way they’ll know where their mom spends so much time. That particular vocabulary word will also come in handy when and if Charlie himself runs out of tiger blood and has to go back there. Give it a few months. Charlie says that this is the first time he’s been able to spend a weekend with Bob and Max since the judge took custody away from him back in March. Given the opportunity, he will be spending the weekend expanding the boys’ verbal repertoire: “I am teaching them words, because they’re speaking now.” “I’m teaching them the word ‘rehab’ so they know where their mom is.” Ouch. Charlie had settled his custody dispute with Brooke Mueller , but it sounds like there’s still plenty of animosity there. Then again, it is true.
Stefano Langone was voted off American Idol this week, but he says he’s proud of how far he got and looking forward to what’s next in his career. In fact, he says he purposely held back on Idol because he wanted to save some of his patented special “swag” for fans to hear on his debut album. “It’s hard to really show your chops on the show,” he said. “One thing I wanted to keep to myself was my original music and my piano playing. It’s something I want to bring out and really show the world, and I think it will be very, very special.” Saying that he purposely chose to not showcase his full range of talent on the show, Langone said he has big plans to carve a unique niche in music. In the vein of Justin Timberlake and John Legend, he says he wants to focus on his piano playing, writing his own material and collaborating with rappers. “Right now, there is a market for what I do and what I can do,” Stefano Langone said. “The producers know it, my management knows it, I know it.” “I’m ready to pounce on it. I’m ready to attack .” Curiously, Langone said not only did he choose to keep his piano talents under wraps, but he also picked songs that weren’t necessarily the best. For the show, that is. He says his choices were geared toward what happened once he left American Idol. His rationale for that is simple: “When I get on that piano, I don’t want to be remembered as getting on the piano and having 20 million-plus people see me do a cover.” “I want people to see me sitting on a piano and singing my songs, my heartfelt, real songs that came from my soul.” Asked whom he might compare himself to or want to work with, Langone listed Bruno Mars, Legend, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Usher and Ne-Yo. Though he wouldn’t reveal who has been in touch, Langone promised he’s already heard from a number of rappers ready to get in the studio. Stefano also admitted that he was conflicted by lasting longer than his pal Pia Toscano , a singer many thought would finish higher than him. “When I came out for [the show], I was never wanting to be the American Idol; it was getting that foot in the door in the industry,” he said. “I knew how bad Pia wanted to be the American Idol, and I almost wanted it more for her more than me.” What do you think?
