Guess Which ‘Scarface’ Cast Member Is Speaking Out Against The New Version Of The Gangsta Classic???

Last week we brought you word that Universal Films is re-creating a new ‘Scarface’. Well, apparently someone from the cult classic cast ain’t wit it!! According to TMZ reports : Say hello to a little controversy — because Robert Loggia (that’s R, as in Robert Loggia) says he’s STRONGLY against the “Scarface” update that’s reportedly in the works. In case you haven’t heard, Universal Pictures is rumored to have started production on a new “Scarface” project that’s being described as an “update” from the 1983 classic. According to reports, the new movie is supposed to contain elements from the ’83 version (man becomes drug dealer, kills a bunch of people, etc.) … but it’s not a sequel or a remake. But Loggia — who played drug lord Frank Lopez in the Al Pacino version — tells TMZ, “Scarface is a classic that should rest in peace! Nuff said!” He may be a haza (if you don’t know what this is we know you’ve never seen the flick), but he’s right about this one!

Brooklyn Keeps On Taking It: Hov To Bless Nets Move To BK With Concert Series

Proud Papa Hov will have lots to celebrate next year, between the birth of his first seed with BeyBey and his Nets finally making their move to the borough where he was born. While we don’t have much insight into his plans for the first big event, he’s already beginning to reveal big moves around the second, including a major concert series to break in the new stadium being built to host the team. Rap mogul Jay-Z will headline a series of concerts to open Brooklyn’s new Nets arena next fall – and will make it official Monday: The team will be named for his hometown. The superstar, who owns a small piece of the soon-to-be renamed Brooklyn Nets, will perform at eight concerts to celebrate the grand opening of the arena – where all-access passes are going for up to $15,400 a season. Jay-Z likely will be joined by his wife, Beyoncé – who by then will have given birth to the couple’s first child – at one of the shows, and will bring on a series of other performers, sources said. Jay-Z will appear with developer Bruce Ratner and Borough President Marty Markowitz to reveal details of the shows Monday at the Prospect Heights construction site. The Barclays Center, which is rapidly rising at Flatbush and Atlantic Aves., is set to officially open on Sept. 28, 2012, with the first concert and will have three weeks of special events before the basketball season starts. They’ll also make it official today that the team will be named the Brooklyn Nets, sources said. Although that name was long expected, Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov flirted with the idea of changing the team name when he bought the Nets last year, even joking he might name it after his girlfriend – and change it every time he got a new one. The Nets are touting the pricey all-access passes – which are $15,400 a person for 44 games for courtside seats – in glossy brochures they’re using to woo local businesses to advertise at the arena. The passes come with access to swanky clubs, free food and first dibs on concert tickets, boxing matches and other events. Other NBA teams offer similar VIP deals, and Nets ticket prices at the Brooklyn arena are about on par with what the Knicks charge at Madison Square Garden. The team started selling season tickets in March. A spokesman said the team has sold half of its 100 luxury suites – including one to Jay-Z. The Barclays Center is the centerpiece of Ratner’s controversial Atlantic Yards project, which also includes 16 housing and commercial towers. The rest of the project has been delayed repeatedly. Ratner had pledged to start construction on the first residential building by the end of this year, but he now says it may be early next year. Don’t know how many times he has to tell y’all… he ain’t a businessman, he’s a BUSINESS man! Hov will not lose when it comes to this Brooklyn Nets business. Now let’s just hope there are no further issues with Barclays Center! Source

SMH: NYC Police Commish Ray Kelly Ain’t Even Mad At The One-Time For Getting Their Labor Day Parade Freak On!!!

No Cop Blocking from the Commish! Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly says he would rather his officers hadn’t been dirty dancing with scantily clad West Indian parade goers but he’s not really trippin’ either. In a radio interview Tuesday with the John Gambling Show on WOR 710 , Kelly said: I prefer it didn’t happen but I don’t want to make too much of it. It was the 44th anniversary of the West Indian Day Parade. I’ve been to perhaps 30 of them. They are unique. They are unusual. Those young women certainly approach the police officers and they get caught up in the .. the spirit of it. It’s quite an unusual parade. Our only thing is, weren’t hella folks getting shot up while these guys were busy getting their grind on?

VMA Performer Chris Brown A ‘Champ,’ Busta Rhymes Says

‘Look at Me Now’ collaborator Rhymes won’t say whether he’ll join CB onstage at the VMAs. By Rob Markman Chris Brown and Busta Rhymes in the “Look at Me Now” music video Photo: Jive Look at Chris Brown now. While the singer and prolific performer dominated headlines for years, the focus hasn’t always been solely on his music. But as we inch closer to the 2011 Video Music Awards , Busta Rhymes expects big things from his buddy. “You know, for Chris especially, this is probably his first run where the obstacles aren’t like they have been for him over the last couple of years, so he really got something to get off his chest,” Busta Rhymes told MTV News on the red carpet of the BMI Urban Awards on Friday night in Los Angeles. “I think people have been seeing that with just his whole success run this year.” Two years after his assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna, Brown has turned attention back to his musical accomplishments in 2011. He has flooded the charts with a number of singles from his F.A.M.E. album, including “Deuces,” “She Ain’t You,” “Beautiful People” and of course his multiple VMA-nominated “Look at Me Now,” featuring Lil Wayne and Busta. “He definitely bounced back like a G and a champ,” Bussa Bus said. “I’m saluting him and I’m proud of him.” And as choreographers Rich and Tone build up our anticipation of Chris Brown’s performance at the VMAs , Busta wouldn’t confirm or deny his participation in the set. “I can’t really give you any details,” the Brooklyn rapper said of Sunday’s performance. “I don’t know what we’re gonna do. I don’t know what he’s gonna do.” The 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards will air live Sunday from Los Angeles at 9 p.m. ET/PT, following the Selena Gomez-hosted pre-show at 8.
