Blame the Farrelly Bros. When the Jersey Shore Kids Pursue Acting Careers

So the Farrelly Brothers decided to give the kids from Jersey Shore a cameo in their upcoming Three Stooges reboot (Oh, the jokes write themselves…) which turned out to be such an amazing experience that Sammi “Sweatheart” Giancola, Jenni “JWoww” Farley, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, and Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi may now turn their fist-pumping sights on second careers as actors. At least when this nightmare comes to pass, we know who to blame.

Movieline’s Week in Review: Say Whaaat?

The first week of August (and the official beginning of the end of summer) rolled by in fine fashion; sure, it was at times an agonizingly slow news week, but the first looks, surprise developments, and WTF ? revelations kept things bouncy. Head into the weekend with your head held high, week. You gave us plenty to munch on. For starters: The terms “Brett Ratner” and “Oscars” in the same sentence? You so crazy!

R.I.P. Former NFL And “Police Academy” Star Bubba Smith Found Dead In His Home

We were so sad to hear that athlete and actor Charles “Bubba” Smith has passed away. According to TMZ reports : Former NFL great Charles “Bubba” Smith — who later starred in the “Police Academy” movies — was found dead today in his Los Angeles home. He was 66 years old. Law enforcement officials tell TMZ … LAPD received a 911 call at 12:54PM today — and officers responded to his home in the Baldwin Hills area. The fire department also responded and we’re told Smith was dead when authorities arrived. The L.A. County Coroner is on the scene investigating. We’re told, at this point, authorities think he died of natural causes. According to the L.A. Times, Bubba’s caretaker discovered the body and called police. His autopsy will be performed later this week. Bubba — a towering 6’7″ — spent 9 seasons as a defensive end in the NFL, playing for the Baltimore Colts, Oakland Raiders, and Houston Oilers. He won Super Bowl V with the Colts — but is most famous for his role as the giant and lovable Moses Hightower in 6 of the “Police Academy” movies. R.I.P. Bubba!

Bubba Smith, NFL Star and Police Academy Actor, Was 66

Sad news: According to an L.A. Times report, former NFL all-pro defensive end and actor Bubba Smith passed away this week at the age of 66. Smith was reportedly found deceased in his Los Angeles home, likely having succumbed to natural causes. While known for his outstanding pro-football career in the ’60s and ’70s, Smith followed sports stardom by transitioning into an acting career highlighted by his iconic turn as the gentle florist-turned-cop, Moses Hightower, in all but one of the Police Academy films.
