The Best Man Holiday Cast Attends NYC Premiere The cast of “The Best Man Holiday” have been making their rounds to promote the film for a few months now and they made their way into the Big Apple last night for the film’s premiere in the city. After scorching the red carpet last week at the L.A. premiere, the films’ leading ladies Sanaa Lathan, Nia Long and Melissa De Sousa (without a noticeably absent Monica Calhoun) did it again for the NYC premiere held at the Bow Tie Chelsea cinema in lower Manhattan. Of course, the fellas of the film were also in the building, along with R.Kelly, who is featured on the Best Man Holiday official soundtrack. Check out a few more pics from the screening on the flip.

WTF?!?! Florida Man Killed By SWAT After Taking Hostages In An Apartment Complex Via NYDailyNews A gunman holding hostages inside a South Florida apartment complex killed six people before being shot to death by a SWAT team that stormed the building early Saturday following an hours-long standoff, police said. Sgt. Eddie Rodriguez told The Associated Press that police got a call around 6:30 p.m. Friday that shots had been fired in a building with dozens of apartments in Hialeah, just a few miles north of Miami. Rodriguez said that when police arrived, they discovered an active shooter situation: “He’s inside the building, moving from floor to floor. Eventually he barricades himself in an apartment.” A crisis team was able to briefly establish communication with the man. Rodriguez said negotiators and a SWAT team tried talking with him from the other side of the door of an apartment unit where he was holding two hostages. But Rodriguez said the talks eventually “just fell apart.” Officers stormed the building, fatally shooting the gunman in an exchange of gunfire. “They made the decision to go in there and save and rescue the hostages,” Rodriguez said. Both hostages survived. Rodriguez said he didn’t have any information on how long negotiations lasted. If we didn’t know any better we’d say the mental health of people in America is rapidly deteriorating… He said police discovered two people, a male and female, shot to death in the hallway in front of one unit. Three more, a male and two females, were found shot and killed in another apartment on a different floor. Another man who was walking his children into an apartment across the street also was killed. Rodriguez said it wasn’t immediately clear whether the gunman took aim at him from an upper-level balcony or if he was hit by a stray bullet. Zulima Niebles said police told her that three of her family members were among the victims. She said her sister Merly Sophia Niebles, her sister’s husband, and her sister’s daughter Priscila Perez, 16, were all shot and killed. Gotta use your big head sometimes… New York Man Falls To His Death After Sex Proposition And Robbery On Rooftop Via NYDailyNews A 50-year-old Brooklyn man who fell to his death from atop a four-story building was lured onto the roof by two women who had promised him sex, police sources said Thursday. Instead of showing Robert Reichl a good time, the women led him into a trap shortly after midnight on Wednesday — and stole $2,000 in cash he had been carrying. Three toughs were waiting on the roof of the building on Fourth Ave. near 47th St. in Sunset Park, the sources said, and at some point the men attacked Reichl. One of them, Ruben Santiago, sprayed Reichl in the face with a chemical spray believed to be mace that caused the victim to reel back, lose his balance and fall off the rooftop, the source said. Reichl, a Bay Ridge resident, landed in the rear courtyard of the building, where he died. Police have arrested three people in connection with Reichl’s death — Santiago, 23, Glennys Reyes, 23, and Randy Ortiz, 24, according to the sources. Reyes was one of the two women who set up Reichl, and Ortiz was one of the two men with Santiago on the rooftop, the sources said. Investigators are still hunting for the second woman and the third man. Detectives believe the five were acting in concert and split the money afterward, one police source said. New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft has broken his silence on Aaron Hernandez, sitting down with a number of media outlets to discuss the situation. The 72-year-old, who has owned the team since 1994, recounted his initial shock when one of his stars became embroiled in a homicide investigation . Hernandez has since been charged with the premeditated murder of Odin Lloyd . “If this stuff is true, then I’ve been duped and our whole organization has been duped,” Kraft told ESPN of the player he drafted out of Florida in 2010. “Here we have a guy who, man, it looks like had the world by the tail. He said to me he wanted to be a role model to the Hispanic community,” Kraft said. “He was kind enough to give a check for my beloved wife’s memorial charity. He said we’d given him a second chance and I believed him.” “He was the most likeable young man. This is all sad to me. Very sad.” While Kraft had previously remained silent, the actions of his organization spoke volumes. Less than two hours after his arrest, the Patriots released him. Two days later, the team announced that fans would have an opportunity to exchange Hernandez jerseys for gear with the name of another player. Kraft said this is necessary “if any member of the New England Patriots organization is close enough to a murder investigation to actually get arrested.” “Whether it be for obstruction of justice or the crime itself – it is too close to an unthinkable act for that person to be part of this organization going forward.” The Patriots drafted Hernandez out of the University of Florida in 2010 and signed him to a five-year, $40 million contract extension before the 2012 season. In the days since Hernandez was taken into custody, a troubling history of brushes with the law – including, potentially, two more murders – has been revealed. Kraft explained that Hernandez answered the Patriots’ concerns about his character in 2010, writing him a letter saying they had “absolutely nothing to worry about.” According to Kraft, the team saw no indications of trouble with Hernandez. “I only know what goes on inside this building. We don’t put private eyes on people,” Kraft said. “When he was in this building, I was never exposed to anything where he was not positive.” “He was always polite, respectful.”
Talk about going out with a bang! A couple in China getting freaky against a window suffered a fatal fall when the glass gave way. Via UK’s The Sun reports : A COUPLE are believed to have fallen to their deaths when a window they were having sex against gave way, say reports. The horrific accident allegedly happened in China when the glass pane shattered. The tragic man and woman are then understood to have hurtled to their deaths. Eyewitnesses said the couple both fell to the ground as they clinched on to each other. A source in China said: “With the two of them holding each other tight, they fell out of the building”. Shocking photos in China appear to show the couple on the ground under sheets. Blood is splattered near their bodies on the pavement. Medical staff and what appear to be police officers can also be seen examining the scene. The man and woman are thought to have fallen out of an apartment in the city of Wuhan, central China. Local sites suggested windows in the building were of poor quality. This is sad as hell. Wonder if their families would be able to sue the building owners? Do they have the same abundance of civil litigation over there as here, anybody know?
