You gotta love it when pretty girls with low self-esteem find perspective after a dude who should have never had her fawks her head up… Despite having a new gig on NBC’s “The Voice,” poor Christina Milian’s divorce situation continues to be the most interesting thing she’s got popping. And in a recent interview with Hello Beautiful, she says that after everything that’s happened, she and Teddy Ruxpin are having absolutely no problem co-parenting. We have a mutual friendship and we communicate very well with each other. We both have very busy schedules but it’s working out very well. With all the drama, I just wanted us to be cool because at the end of the day all that matters is our daughter. It’s worked out well now since all the media is out of our business. I mean, we’re going to be in each other’s lives forever because of our daughter, by choice, because he doesn’t HAVE to be present, but he chooses to be. We have a great speaking relationship, and I’m grateful for that. Oh, what a great child support/alimony settlement can do for life. But the fact that she and Terius are friends now does not mean C-Milli is back on the market. I’m enjoying being on my own and have been that way for about a year and some change. I’m pretty much not open to dating. I think I’m just spending time on me. I’ve been from relationship to relationship my whole life. I think the most time I’ve spent in between a relationship was like two months and then I was right back to like a three-year relationship. I have all the love I need right here from my daughter and I’m very protective over her because now when I do decide to date it will not only affect me but my daughter as well. I’m just not interested right now. It’s going to take some time. I’m not bitter I’m just enjoying my me time. Yeah right! If it were actually possible for this girl to put out an album right now, we’re sure it would be rife with all types of “n-words ain’t isht” anthems. Jonas Brother says channeling female perspective is a ‘challenge.’ By Jocelyn Vena Nick Jonas Photo: MTV News It wasn’t too hard for Nick Jonas to write for Quaker Chewy Superstar Search winner, 14-year-old Gabrielle Giguere : The Jonas Brother has a lot of experience digging around inside the female brain. Long before he hit the studio with Giguere this year, he had already received killer production and writing credits for some of his A-list peers. So, what’s it like to have to think like a girl? “I think my first experience with that was working with Demi [Lovato] on her record,” Jonas recalled to MTV News. “We were a big part of her first record, [ Don’t Forget, ] and helping craft that. And I was a part of her second, [ Here We Go Again, ] as well.” When the 19-year-old has to channel his feminine side, he simply asks the artist herself about the experiences she has been going through and tries to encapsulate them in a song. “It was really cool to be able to speak with [Demi] about what she was going through in her life and craft a song for the setting,” he said of his role as producer/writer. “And I really enjoyed that and having done a lot of writing and producing for other people this year like Charice [‘One Day’] and others. It was great to get that mindset and take on that challenge.” The transition to working with a smaller artist like Giguere wasn’t too difficult for Jonas, given the way he works. For him, it’s all about tailoring each recording session to the artist. “In my experience, I try and work specifically with the vocalist and try to figure out how they work and what their process is and get the best result from them by learning them first,” he said. “We had the time to do that, and I feel like we came up with a really great-sounding song [with ‘My Time’].” For now, though, Jonas might have to let other artists’ projects take the backseat as he focuses on his own, including a nearly six-month-long run as the lead in Broadway’s “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” as well as work on the next Jonas Brothers album . ‘We promised the band’s not over,’ Joe Jonas tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena, with additional reporting by Kara Warner Nick Jonas Photo: MTV News All three Jonas Brothers have spent some time apart, working on their individual projects: Nick Jonas has been producing other artists and will appear in “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” on Broadway, while Joe Jonas has been busy pimping his solo album, Fastlife , all over the globe. The guys admit it’s time to get the old band back together. “We had been focusing this past year and a half on our individual projects and what we’re doing on our own, and I think that with ‘How to Succeed’ and with Joe still promoting his album and doing all that, that’s still a bit part of the future,” Nick told MTV News when he stopped by our New York office last week. “However, we have started thinking about the next step and what that means for the brothers, and the tone overall is just that we want it to be the right time, and we want to take our time.” In fact, there’s even a timeframe for when the guys intend to really start thinking more about their next album. “I’m gonna be going to New York probably when Nick’s going to be doing some Broadway stuff, so maybe some more Jonas Brothers stuff soon,” Joe added on the set of “Hot in Cleveland” a day later. “Kevin, he lives in New York, so we’ll all be there together. We’ll see what happens. Nick’s gonna be working on his project, and we’re always writing together, and we promised the band’s not over. So, I’m definitely looking forward to be able to get back with them.” And, JoBros fans, there even seems to some chatter that in addition to new music, there might also be some new tour plans. “We’re excited to make music for our fans again and to be able to tour one day together again,” Nick explained. “I don’t know necessarily when that will be, but it will happen, and when it does, we’re gonna be really excited, and hopefully our fans and others will be excited as well.” Are you awaiting the next Jonas Brothers album and tour? The beautiful and multi-talented, Christina Milian , has been a little under the radar lately after the news of her very public divorce from The Dream hit the media. Since then, Christina has been working hard on her new album and as the new social media correspondent on “The Voice”. With all these new projects that Ms. Milian is working on, we had to catch up with her to see just what has she been up to lately! Take a look at my exclusive interview with Christina where we chatted about her new album, dealing with her divorce in the public and moving on. How does she run in those heels? HelloBeautiful: How did you get the gig as the social media correspondent with “The Voice”? Christina Milian: I guess they were looking for someone to fill that role. They wanted someone that could relate to the celebrity coaches and the music industry. They wanted someone who could connect all the dots. Social media has had a huge affect on their fan base. With the following that I have and the fan base that I have, they felt it would be a good connection to have me come on board. They came to me and we had this great meeting and then I was there the next week! It happened that fast. It’s pretty exciting. Its fun. I have the coolest job. All I have to do is tweet and shoot interviews and be myself. I feel so blessed that I don’t have to go out of my way to do what I love. HB: What are you bringing to the table this season? Christina Milian: I like to help edit the videos and give fine tuning detail and bring the personality to it. It’s one thing to ask the basics but having been in this situation that the contestants are in, it’s easier to bring your own experience to the table. HB: What kind of advice would you give to anyone looking to follow in your footsteps whether it be singing or acting or anything that you’re doing in your career? Christina Milian: First off the biggest lesson is patience because it doesn’t happen overnight. The best thing to do is connect with a specific idol. I wanted to be like Janet Jackson and Madonna so I paid attention to their careers. Pay attention to their history and study the people you love and then study the people they studied. I think that’s the best advice. HB: Now, we have to get into the juicy stuff! How has it been living your life so publicly with the birth of your daughter and then your very public divorce? Christina Milian: You know, I’ve been doing it for so long that now, it comes with the territory. Certain things are crazy. There are things in my life that have been private and when it comes time to explain them, no one can believe it. When you live your life in front of a camera it’s not the easiest thing, but people are relying on you to help them get through the same thing. It’s actually motivating in a way. You have to accept it. People always think I call the paparazzi! I’m like “look, I live in LA they are EVERYWHERE!” I mean they pop out of bushes! So I’ve accepted it. It’s my life. It’s like having a spy on you 24/7 so it keeps you in check and in line from doing anything stupid. But I’m still human and I still make mistakes. I used to let it affect me but now I’m just like, nobody is living my life but me. At the end of the day, I have to live for me. I don’t mind. I’ve gained a lot of respect and support especially from women. They have helped be my backbone. HB: Speaking of that situation, how are things with you and Dream now? Do you still talk? Christina Milian: (Laughing) You have to discuss that with him! I mean, he’s an amazing writer and I’ll give him credit for that. I do believe that he’s taking pieces from all his relationships and making them into songs. He’s very creative in his writing and he’s speaking for a lot of men. I think when Dream writes, he writes about everything and he’s also adding what the fans what to hear: the realness. I mean, I’m not the only one in this situation that has a Mercedes car and for second everybody was like “did you hear this?!” and I started thinking that people might think these songs were about me. I called him and talked to him about it, and he basically told me that at the end of the day we’re both creative people and we dated publicly so of course they’re going to point the finger at you but we both know that these things aren’t true. But since all eyes were on us during our relationship, it’s natural for people to look at me. HB: Are you dating anyone new? Christina Milian: I’m enjoying being on my own and have been that way for about a year and some change. I’m pretty much not open to dating. I think I’m just spending time on me. Are there any artists that you would like to work with that you haven’t already work with before? Christina Milian: I would love to work with Chris brown, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Kanye West- we actually did a demo in the past that never came out, so I would love to work with him again. And Rihanna, I would LOVE to work with her. HB: Are you working on any new projects that we should be aware of? Christina Milian: I am working on a new album. Its just a lot of business matters I’ve been trying to clean up. I took some time off after having the baby and trying to find my new sound so now I think I’m in a good place. I’m always traveling and meeting new people, so I’m definitely in a place of moving forward in my career rather than making music just to make it. Trust me, your girl is working hard! And now the questions we always ask… Whats in your bag? My iPad. I went to the dentist today so I have this sleeping guard retainer thing. My Crooks and Castle sunglasses, Mac 3d glass lip gloss and my little red Cannon camera If you were forced to get a tattoo what would it be of and why? I have a bunch of tattoos but if I was forced I would get the quote, “live the life” because it’s my motto. I love to live. You have to be free. I have freedom on my wrist so I think that I would put that quote on me somewhere. Whats your vice and where do u go to get it? Food and shoes! But shoes definitely. I have my share of Louboutins. You can go to the actual store and get the best ones and there’s another store out here that has some great choices. Whats one urge you get but never act on it? To be aggressive with a guy and be like, “hey this is this and this is that and peace out!” But I don’t have the guts to do that because they would know who I am and it would just be all bad! (laughing) When was the last time you cried? Recently in church. I cried and I actually became a member of the church that day. It was a great message and I feel really good in my life and I feel really proud of myself because of all I’ve been going through. I’ve been going to this church for about a year and I have faith and believe in God so the message really spoke to me. I was amazed. The Penn State athletic department is facing serious charges of covering up sexual abuse, following an indictment of former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky on 40 counts, including inappropriate touching and statutory rape. Sandusky, who retired in 1999, is accused of abusing eight boys over a 15-year period; while athletic director Timothy Curley and Vice President of Business and Finance Gary Schultz resigned from the university last night and have been charged with perjury and failure to report Sandusky’s behavior to police. The latter two face seven years in prison if convicted. Sandusky faces life behind bars. Iconic football coach Joe Paterno – who holds the record for most wins in the history of Division I – says an assistant coach told him of an incident between Sandusky and a young male in 2002. He passed that information along to Curley. “If true, the nature and amount of charges made are very shocking to me and all Penn Staters,” Paterno said in a statement. “While I did what I was supposed to with the one charge brought to my attention, like anyone else involved I can’t help but be deeply saddened these matters are alleged to have occurred. “I understand that people are upset and angry, but let’s be fair and let the legal process unfold. In the meantime I would ask all Penn Staters to continue to trust in what that name represents, continue to pursue their lives every day with high ideals and not let these events shake their beliefs nor who they are.”
