Dog Embraces Rescue Worker Who Saved Him Even dogs have their way of saying ‘thank you’….. via THG You often hear anecdotes of animals being able to experience and express humanlike emotions, and we sometimes see signs of this in our own pets. This would be one of those times. Eva Armstrong, a director of Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue, heads a volunteer-run rescue group that has saved more than 800 dogs to date. On a recent trip to a high-kill “shelter” in Alabama, volunteers rescued a dachshund they named Captain Morgan because he had only one eye. The night he was rescued, Captain Morgan slept at the foot of Eva’s hotel bed. She took care of him until he was adopted by a family months later. Then, last week, Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue held a “reunion” where Captain Morgan and Armstrong were reunited … and the photo says it all. A picture of the two of them in a warm embrace quickly went viral. Captain Morgan, now called Cappy by his adopted family, rests his head on Armstrong’s shoulder, seeming to smile as if this is the best moment ever. Too cute! How would you caption this ? Octomom’s topless photo shoot in Closer Magazine , which hit the Internet yesterday, didn’t exactly impress Steve Hirsch of Vivid Entertainment fame. From a business perspective at least. Yes, the Octomom nude pics were eye-opening from a certain standpoint, but Hirsch can’t believe how much she just lowered her XXX market value. Hirsch, if you recall, offered Octo (a.k.a. Nadya Suleman) $1 MILLION in 2009 to star in a movie with his company. She shot that offer down hard. Ditto the $500,000 offer he made her in 2010 for ONE SCENE. The point of all this ? Closer allegedly paid her a modest 10 grand for the nude pics. Citing a “market correction,” yet intrigued by Nadya’s sudden willingness to get naked, Hirsch is making her another offer to join the Vivid ranks. The deal: $100,000 to appear in THREE hardcore sex scenes. A million bucks was so ’09. “Regrettably your market value has diminished,” he says. She might be desperate enough to strip down to pay rent, but nude stills are a far cry from getting probed on video. Don’t hold your breath Steve.
Piers Morgan has banned Madonna from his show. The reason why is a mystery, but Piers tweeted to Madge on Tuesday night, “Welcome to Twitter. You’re still banned from my show. Love Piers X.” That about clears up his feelings on the singer. Madonna’s manager, Guy Oseary, replied, “Really?” and attached a letter from Morgan’s producer inviting Madonna to be a guest on his UK chat show. Piers then tweeted back: “Madonna has only been banned from my CNN show, not my UK show, which sent that invite. But I’m now banning her from that too.” According to TMZ, Madonna sources have absolutely no idea why Piers is angry at her, adding, “She doesn’t even know who he is.” Piers said in January 2011 that banned Madonna from his show for life because she’s been “an irritant in my life for 20 years.” Well, that’ll do it. The invite to Piers’ UK show is therefore baffling, however, perhaps whomever issued it wasn’t aware Piers thinks she’s a grotesque con artist .
Clayton Osbon, a JetBlue pilot, had to be restrained Tuesday after suffering a panic attack on board a flight from New York’s JFK airport to Las Vegas. The FAA called the incident a medical emergency. The unruly captain was subdued by at least five passengers after his co-pilot locked him out of the cockpit after displayed potentially dangerous behavior. The flight was diverted to Amarillo, Texas. JetBlue Pilot Flips Out, Subdued by Passengers Osbon, a commercial pilot since 1989, was not at the controls but “began acting erratically, flipping switches in the cockpit and appearing confused.” Sources say that his co-pilot tricked him into going to the passenger area to check something, then locked the door and changed the security code. “The captain of the plane just went berserk,” passenger Wayne Honlnes said. “He came out of the other end of the plane … came running back to the cockpit and he was shouting out numbers … 500 something. He started banging on the cockpit door.” While Osbon was in the cabin, an off-duty JetBlue pilot traveling on the flight managed to enter the cockpit and help land the plane in Texas. JetBlue said in a statement: “Another captain, traveling off duty, entered the flight deck prior to landing at Amarillo, and took over the duties of the ill crewmember once on the ground.” “The aircraft arrived Amarillo at 10:11 am CT, and the crewmember was removed from the aircraft and taken to a local medical facility.” Passenger David Gonzalez, a former corrections officer from New York City, said he was sitting in the second row of flight 191 when he saw the captain storm out of the cockpit and rush toward an occupied bathroom. Flight attendants struggled to control him and Gonzalez, 50, said the captain began moving in the direction of the plane’s emergency exit. Gonzalez said he had gone to help the flight attendant and asked the captain what his problem was. Gonzalez said the pilot replied, “You’d better start praying right now,” and was shouting about Al Qaeda, a bomb, and the plane crashing. “I was actually the one that took him down. I noticed he was very erratic,” Gonzalez said. “He was pinned against the door. I was afraid he was going to knock down the door. I was able to put a choke hold on him.” “I was able to get him weak from cutting his wind pipe.” “When he buckled, I realized I had him where I need him. So I put a little more pressure, and that’s when he almost passed out. So I threw him to the floor.” “That’s when the team came in and started helping me … I just didn’t want him opening up that door. I knew if he got in there, we wouldn’t be sitting here now.” Gonzalez felt the man get weak and he passed out about three minutes later. The men, who took off their belts to tie his legs, as Osbon was reportedly able to break through plastic handcuffs, sat on the pilot until landing.
It’s been a busy weekend for Chad and Evelyn , but the events of the past few days have us loving them even more as a couple. First Evelyn braved the cold weather to support his man as his Patriots beat the Denver Broncos in the playoffs, then Chad had us rolling after stealing Evelyn’s phone and tweeting some pretty funny stuff… But we were sad to see them have to deal with the tragedy of losing Chad’s dad this morning.
