It’s been two weeks since Leaving Neverland premiered on HBO. The documentary detailing the child molestation allegations against Michael Jackson has been compared to a ” public lynching ” by the late pop star’s family. However, for many viewers, the film left little doubt about Jackson’s guilt. And since the crimes he’s been accused of are truly monstrous, the fallout from the evidence presented in Neverland has been appropriately swift and harsh. Of course, many in Jackson’s inner circle are concened not only with protecting the singer’s lucrative estate, but also his legacy. Chief among these defenders is Michael’s only daughter, Paris Jackson. Paris does not believe her father’s accusers , and she’s repeatedly laughed off their allegations in ways that many have found deeply offensive. But as much as she might pretend to be unbothered by the situation on social media, there have been indications that this growing scandal is beginning to take a toll on the aspiring model. Insiders say Paris is concerned that the allegations will derail her career , and she’s never once considered the possibility that her father might be guilty. Neverland has forced her to confront some very uncomfortable facts, and the process has reportedly caused her to fall back into some bad habits. Paris’ drug use has created significant problems in the past, and the 20-year-old checked into rehab just prior to the film’s debut. Now, however, Paris is out of treatment, and already back to partying. Radar Online has attained photos of what appears to be Paris drinking and clubbing with friends on Tuesday night. “Her eyes were wide and she was fidgety,” says one onlooker. “She was drinking lots and was with a big group of people,” the witness adds. Paris’ boyfriend, Gabriel Glenn , was also on hand, and the witness says the two of them got into a heated altercation that “nearly turned physical.” One insider says Paris’ family is deeply concerned about her health and well-being. “If things continue like this, Paris will end up back in rehab or — even worse — dead,” a source tells Radar. Rushing between classes at the Fashion Institute of Technology Findlay had a brush with “destiny” when an instructor at the institute suggested that she consider modeling. In an exclusive interview with Hello Beautiful, Findlay explained working with other models to gain valuable information about the industry and how a quick tap on the shoulder completely changed the course of her career. “It wasn’t even my professor . He just saw me in the hallway and was like, ‘do you model?’,” she said. She immediately became consumed with thoughts of all of the amazing opportunities that she just knew were already on their way. To her surprise though getting signed was just the first feat on the path. “Things got a little rocky after that,” she said. “It’s not always a straight shot.” She continued, “I thought that things would be easy. I thought I would be taken care of. I thought I would have direction. I thought that whatever agent that I got would basically help and take care of me.” Assumptions were all she had to go on because unlike more traditional careers like law and medicine there was no handbook on how to conduct yourself as a model. She explained that instead of being lavished with the support of an attentive team focused on nothing but getting her to the top she was placed in a position to learn about the realities of how much work it took to move up in the modeling industry. Soon she was left to figure out the dynamics of the business completely on her own after experiencing a routine occurrence many models experience but few discuss openly…being dropped. Fortunately, Findlay was no stranger to hustle . Her journey to FIT has included plenty of it. Before she began filling her tote with sketchpads and notebooks to capture the constant stream of ideas she has on photoshoot sets, the Flatbush native clawed her way to getting a proper secondary education. She researched the best schools available to her that prioritized the arts and auditioned for several schools to make sure she had a place. “There’s not a lot of high schools that even have that in New York,” she said. It wasn’t something that was gonna leave me. Design and creativity all of that is a part of my personality.” She took the same “no plan B” approach she took to finding a high school and applied it to finding a new agency being proactive about moving forward. “You have to be really resourceful on your own and you have to keep pushing yourself because at the end of the day these agencies are managing hundreds of other models at the same time. What I realize is often times they don’t even have enough time to get around to every girl. So, it’s essential to take notes and learn as much as you can and ask questions of other models and really just build your knowledge on the industry , so you just have that extra knowledge in your back pocket.” “I did get dropped a year ago,” she admitted. “But then I resigned to Major,” she added proudly. The experience taught her that the only way she was going to get ahead was if she tapped into her ability to advocate for herself and expanded her circle so that she could learn from others. While a lack of perceived support left her feeling “out of place an uncomfortable” around the other models initially she pushed past that feeling and reached out to others. “Other people in the industry helped me, other models . We kind of formed a little coalition and helped each other out. We give each other advice and hope for the best.” Today she’s continuing to immerse herself in all the ways one can be creative in the design industry and working towards building her own design business. She says modeling has significantly informed her work as an artist and being on set allows her “get how design works,” in a new way. Meredith and DeLuca are still in the early stages of their relationship. As with all ‘Ships on Grey’s Anatomy, there’s always some drama thrown in for good measure. Thursday’s episode of the ABC hit kicked off with DeLuca’s father, Vincenzo pitching his project to Alex. The project was all about him creating an external sac that premature babies could be transferred to in order to develop until they’re full term. It was pretty crazy stuff, but he also revealed that he had great success when he trialed the procedure on animals. So, what was holding Alex back from approving the surgery? Vincenzo’s relationship with DeLuca was strained. Hell, DeLuca did not want to be anywhere near his father. Meredith was under the impression that Vicenzo was suffering from an undiagnosed medical illness thanks to Carina who threw her father well and truly under the bus. Vincenzo asked DeLuca to join him on the surgery, promising that it would help put his career “on the map.” Meredith was quick to veto the whole thing because she was concerned that Vincenzo having an undiagnosed medical condition would scupper things if he got to work with human patients. DeLuca pressed on without getting the go-ahead from Meredith, and it looks like we’re in for one of these crazy moments in which couples are put on the line. Meredith made some valid points, and the hospital is going to be liable if his undisclosed mental illness killed or harmed a patient, well, that means there’s going to be a media storm at the hospital. How far will Meredith go to shut the whole thing down? We bet she’s going to go the full way, and it’s going to create some big complications in her relationship. Elsewhere, Maggie got 15 minutes of fame thanks to some name-dropping. By that, we mean the surgeon went on a podcast and revealed that she was the daughter of Ellis Grey. This immediately changed the scope of the conversation, and the hosts failed to ask about anything she had done for herself. It was harrowing for her, but she bit back by revealing that Ellis had an affair with Richard, and that’s how she was born. Instead, it created the media storm you would expect in this day and age. “It’s not a part of my story that I’m particularly proud of,” Richard told his daughter, confirming that he was unhappy about the way she was brought into the world. T hroughout her career journey, Shonda Rhimes has continued to set the bar high in the entertainment industry. She is the first Black woman to develop and executive produce a Top 10 network series and she is continuing to make historic moves. The show made its debut in 2005 and has been going strong ever since. “I wanted to see people on television who look like me, and I wanted to see people on television who look like my friends. And I didn’t relate to a lot of the women on television because they didn’t seem realistic. It was just about writing people I wanted to watch, and writing people who felt like the people I knew. That’s what we ended up doing,” said Rhimes in an interview with Business Insider . She also added that it’s important to authentically bring narratives to life when working in television and not chase trends. “The goal is to make sure it’s not a trend. I don’t know what I can do to encourage it. I tell the stories I tell and I do it naturally.” Rhimes has seen success with many of the projects that she’s created including Private Practice , Scandal , and How to Get Away with Murder . In 2017, she inked a multi-year deal with Netflix where through her Shondaland production company she will develop eight series.
