Big Boi Avoids Jail Time In Florida Drug Case

ATL rap legend Big Boi has reached a deal on Florida drug charges that allows him to avoid jail time. The Associated Press reports that the OutKast rapper appeared in a Miami courtroom today as prosecutors outlined the deal. Big Boi (born Antwan Patton) will have to undergo three months of drug testing, perform community service and pay $2,000 in donations to charities. As we previously reported, Big Boi was arrested getting off a cruise ship in August after police discovered the rapper was carrying ecstasy, a cigarette roller with marijuana residue and the ecstasy ingredient MDMA. Big Boi had faced two felony drug charges. If he remains drug-free after three months of testing, those charges will be dismissed. Read more here. Drake and Rihanna’s relationship was short-lived. In fact, it may have not have even been a relationship. The two stars were first spotted together at a club four months she was assaulted by ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, but while Drake may have caught feelings, Rihanna certainly didn’t. Here’s what he told Elle: On being hurt by Rihanna : “At the time it hurt, but she didn’t mean to. I’ll never put that on her. I was hurt because I slowly started to realize what it was. I guess I thought it was more. That was the first girl with any fame that paid me any mind. You spend days reading about this person in magazines. All of a sudden you have this number-one song and you’re at some birthday party and there she is. And you’re just some naive kid from Toronto staying in some sh**ty-ass hotel who got invited to this party on a whim. That’s just how it happened.” On his fake Twitter marriage to Nicki Minaj : “I don’t know if we were really pretending. I’d marry Nicki. I think Nicki would be one of the only people that would understand me at the end of all of this and be able to love me.” On receiving naked pictures: “If you send them without me asking, it’s like, You’ve done this before. But I’m away a lot. If there’s a woman I’m into, I might want to get a picture from her to handle business myself, as opposed to doing something I might regret.” On threesomes: “I’ve never had one. Yo Gotti Says Zed Zilla ‘Could Be The Next One’

By Rob Markman Zedzilla Photo: CMG Records Granted, Yo Gotti has yet to release his first major-label album, but the Memphis, Tennessee, spitter is thinking big. While fans await Gotti’s Live From the Kitchen (which he hopes will drop before the year ends), the “5 Star Chick” rapper is ready to further the career of his artist Zed Zilla, who will drop his Rent’s Due mixtape later this month. “We from two different sides: north Memphis, south Memphis,” Zed told Mixtape Daily before explaining how he and Gotti met. “I had a show one day, he had his ear to the streets, came to my show. I rocked it, he liked what he saw … we been click-clackin’ ever since.” Zed has actually been riding alongside Gotti since his 2008 mixtape, Cocaine Muzik . More recently, the pair collaborated on Gotti’s “Fire That Bitch,” a humorous break-up song from Cocaine Muzik 6 . Next up is Zilla’s Rent’s Due with DJ Bigga Rankin. The tape features appearances from Waka Flocka Flame, 2 Chainz and, of course, Gotti. The title is particularly fitting considering one of Zed’s rap aliases is “the Landlord.” “For me, with Rent’s Due, ain’t no way around rent; you gotta pay rent,” he said. “I’m here to collect rent. I been with [Gotti] for a minute, been around the world, did a lot of shows, now it’s time for me to show ’em what south Memphis about.” More than just his skills on the mic, Gotti made sure Zed Zilla was everything he claimed to be before signing him to his Cocaine Muzik Group record label. “First and foremost, you have to do your research and find out how close you is to that actual life you’re talkin’ about,” Gotti explained. “You could be the best lyricist or rapper or songwriter, if you ain’t mentally prepared to put in the work, it’s a waste of time. “When we done the research, [Zed] had all the ingredients that we were looking for,” he continued. “I think he could be the next one.” For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out Mixtape Daily Headlines .

The Femme Fatale singer currently has 10,132,860 followers on the social networking site . Spears is an active tweeter. She uses the site to send out personal greetings to her followers and to keep fans up-to-date on what’s going on in her career and in her life. As of press time, she had sent out 1,095 tweets and was following 419,481 people. Currently on tour in Europe, the singer frequently sends out tour updates on the site, leaving messages for her fans about the shows and posting video and pictures. So who beat Britney to the 10 million mark? Lady Gaga , Justin Bieber , President Barack Obama, Katy Perry and Kim Kardashian all reached the milestone before Spears. Mediabistro.com reports that Shakira will likely be the next celeb to reach 10 million, assuming her followers keep growing at their current pace. Ashton Kutcher, who was the first celebrity to reach 1 million followers, may soon be knocked out of the top 10 with folks like Ellen DeGeneres, Oprah Winfrey and Selena Gomez all gaining on him. Julianne Hough Returns, Cuts Footloose on Dancing With the Stars!

Last night’s Dancing With the Stars results show saw the end of Chynna Phillips’ journey on the ABC program. She could not, pardon the pun, hold on for one more day. On a more uplifting note, former DWTS pro Julianne Hough returned to the show that launched her career, performing two numbers to promote her new film Footloose . Julianne danced to “Holding Out for a Hero” with co-star Kenny Wormald, then jived with her brother, current DWTS pro Derek Hough on “Shake Your Tail Feather.” There’s certainly been a void since Julianne left the show, and we’re not talking about her gorgeousness (not entirely anyway). L.A. Reid – the man behind Rihanna, Usher and Mariah Carey’s careers – recently admitted he could’ve taken credit for Lady Gaga’s success too, but was having a bad day when he decided to drop her – only months after originally signing her to Island Def Jam. Of course, Gaga went on to sign with Interscope and L.A. moved to Epic Records, but here’s what he had to say about what could have been: “One day, this artist came to my office. She played piano, she had on white go-go boots, thigh-high boots. She sat down at the piano and she played and she sang and when she was done, I said, ‘You are an amazing artist, a true artist and you will change music’ and I signed her. Her name was Lady Gaga. “Then a few months later, I got her demos and it was a work in progress and I was having a bad day. A bad day. And I said, ‘You know what? I really don’t like it. By Kara Warner Nicki Minaj and Pitbull Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images Whether they had a heads-up or not, when Nicki Minaj and Pitbull unveiled the nominees for the 39th annual American Music Awards on Tuesday (October 11), it was obvious they were both pleased to read the other’s name off the list. Minaj is nominated for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist and Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album, while Pitbull picked up nods for Favorite Latin Music Artist and Favorite Pop or Rock Male Artist. When MTV News caught up with the nominees immediately following the announcement, they weren’t shy about their hopes for bringing home the big awards come November 20, when the AMAs air live on ABC. “It’s an honor to be here with the kind of caliber of artists here,” Pitbull said of fellow nominees Justin Bieber , Bruno Mars , Enrique Iglesias and Jennifer Lopez . “Me, I come to the awards shows and I just learn, I watch everyone, I see how they handle their performances and hopefully grab a couple things and apply it to my career. So to be here nominated and to also be performing at the AMAs, I want to thank you.” The “Give Me Everything” singer also promised he’ll do his best to top his VMA performance when he takes the AMA stage. “That [VMA performance] was definitely a lot of fun. It’s hard to get 60 women from Miami on a plane after they were partying the night before and bring that vibe out there,” he joked. “But that’s definitely what we’re looking for: We’re looking for a lot of energy, something very sexy, sophisticated, powerful — and get ready.” With regard to Miss Minaj’s chances at victory, she’s nominated in both categories with Young Money boss Lil Wayne, so we wanted to know if there will be any friendly wagering going on beforehand. “I don’t know.
