Lady Gaga’s ‘Alejandro’ Video: German Expressionism With A Beat!

Dark, arty clip is about as far from ‘Telephone’ video as she could get. By James Montgomery Lady Gaga in the “Alejandro” music video Photo: Interscope Records At this point in her career, Lady Gaga can do whatever she wants, whenever she wants. She is unbound, unbridled, and completely without fear … and “Alejandro” is proof of that. It is a very glamorous, very art-y thing — and anyone expecting a video like her last one should give up that hope right now. Because, having already run roughshod through the pulpy pop culture of yesteryear with Beyonc

Raekwon Says His New Mixtape Is ‘Just Raw Product’

‘I still feel I’m in that same zone as far as rhyming,’ the Chef tells Mixtape Daily. By Shaheem Reid Raekwon Photo: Universal This Week’s Main Pick Street King : Raekwon Holding It Down For : ICE H20 Records Mixtape : Cocainism Vol. 2 Real Spit : As Raekwon prepares for his Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang LP to drop later this year, the Chef said he wanted to stay in the fans’ faces. “For me it’s like being on the street — you hustling,” he said about being active in the mixtape circuit. “You come out and you know it’s a thousand people on the block doing their thing. You gotta get in where you fit in. I might come out with a couple of extra jams just to get my name out — like, yo, give a couple of friends something for free, just to let ’em know. ‘It’s over here. Taste that. Taste that! Taste that and let me know how you feel. Get back at me.’ I think that’s the same rules that apply to the mixtape situation. “The title is something I thought about for a minute,” he added. “Just coming off the Cuban Linx 2 project, I still feel I’m in that same zone as far as rhyming. So I decided to come with Cocainism. It’s just raw product, B — raw product. Anything I give to the world, I just want it to be something that n—as will be like, ‘Yo, that sh– is raw.’ So that’s the word of the day. I asked my crew, like, ‘How y’all feel about the word?’ They was like, ‘It’s typical Rae slang.’ They felt it was groovy.” Joints To Check For “Alphabet Soup.” “I got this joint called ‘Alphabet Soup,’ ” Rae said. “I was inspired by making this record by checking out my man Papoose. I think this is probably something he did way back when his career started. To me, that made me like him a lot more. He was challenging different things. I wanted to do something from A to Z so we called it ‘Alphabet Soup’ because every letter, we came with words pertaining to that letter. If I said ‘A,’ I would say, ‘Attacking a–holes/ Assassinate ’em with mad holes …’ Everything was pertaining to that letter. I felt that concept was something good to bug out on the mixtape.” “City of God.” “It’s me back in my ‘Champion’ era,” The Chef explained. “It’s me rhyming a lot of strong lyrical content. When you think of a New York MC such as myself, you know what we talking about. So, yeah, I’m feeling that rhyme. That beat is underground. It’s nothing you gonna say is a commercial record. It’s me getting busy on the mic. I got inspired by the movie [‘City of God’]. Seeing the young n—as in certain situations where they growing up poor. It reminds me of my era — we ain’t get on, we was finding out a way where we could get on. Where we could make something happen.” “Ms. Sincere.” “We’re talking about a broad,” the Staten Island vet said. “The beat behind us is going, ‘Wuu-wuuuu.’ I don’t know, I been hearing a lot of slow sh– with the ‘Wu’ sound in the background. I’m like, ‘It must be meant to be.’ It’s a slow record; it’s kinda of, like, in a story mode. I’m talking crazy, the beat is crazy; I’m just having fun.” For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out Mixtape Daily Headlines or follow the Mixtape Daily team on Twitter: @shaheemreid and @mongosladenyc .

Johnny Depp, Robert Pattinson — Who Will Be 2010 MTV Movie Awards’ Global Superstar?

Taylor Lautner, Daniel Radcliffe, Kristen Stewart are also in contention — show begins Sunday night at 9 p.m.! By Todd Gilchrist Johnny Depp Photo: Robyn Beck/ AFP/ Getty Images Stardom comes in many different shapes and sizes, and the 2010 MTV Movie Awards pay tribute to all of them. There’s Breakthrough success, the acclaim that comes from a star-making turn or performance in a film. There’s Badass success — which certainly should speak for itself. And then there’s the Global Superstar , that actor or performer whose success has transcended geographic borders, age groups and gender to become recognized all over the globe — not only for their roles, but for themselves. Here’s a look at this year’s contenders: Johnny Depp From Edward Scissorhands to Ed Wood, from Jack Sparrow to the Mad Hatter — after so many unforgettable characters, it’s hard to imagine anyone doesn’t know who Johnny Depp is. Although he’s spent the majority of his career realizing oddball roles in movies of all sizes, he seems to have finally found a series of films that suit his larger-than-life characterizations, including (most recently) the particularly-mad Mad Hatter in longtime collaborator Tim Burton’s highly-anticipated film version of “Alice in Wonderland.” With “Dark Shadows,” “The Lone Ranger” and of course another “Pirates” movie on the horizon, Depp’s superstardom is in no danger of waning, and among the nominees, his is perhaps the longest-running. Taylor Lautner Prior to 2008, Taylor Lautner was probably best known as the Sharkboy in Robert Rodriguez’s family-friendly adventure “The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl.” But ’08’s “Twilight” brought him an entirely new kind of recognition — a recognition that he knew well enough to protect when time came to reprise the role in “New Moon.” Bulking up to proper hunk size, including a formidable set of abs, Lautner made himself more than a match for the looks and charm of Robert Pattinson’s competitor for Bella’s attention, Edward Cullen, and exploded across the globe as a star in his own right. Although he’s just starting to capitalize on that success by appearing in other blockbusters like “Valentine’s Day,” Lautner is the kind of movie star whose visibility more than makes up for his longevity. Robert Pattinson Even if he hadn’t stepped into the shoes of Edward Cullen, the dreamy, translucent crush object for millions of teenage girls (and their moms) from the “Twilight” book and film series, Robert Pattinson would still be a star thanks to his turn as Cedric Diggory in two of the “Harry Potter” films. But about a second after he offered his first in a series of longing stares at Kristen Stewart’s Bella in the first “Twilight” film, he became an international icon, and hasn’t slowed down since that film was released in 2008. Additionally, he immersed himself in several non-“Twilight” roles in films like those in “Little Ashes” and “Remember Me,” proving not only that he can open a movie on the strength of his fandom, but take a bite out of a variety of characters, whether or not they’re vampires. Daniel Radcliffe Radcliffe was only 12 when the first Harry Potter film was released in 2001 — and if you look back at him then, he was a tiny, adorable charmer in oversized glasses and a Hogwarts gown that practically swallowed him whole. But a decade later, Radcliffe has matured into not only the grown-up hero that Harry himself has become, but an adult star in his own right, offering remarkable performances on stage and screen that attract audiences of all shapes and sizes. As the first part of “The Deathly Hallows,” an epic adaptation of the final book in Harry’s saga, arrives in theaters in November of 2010 — you’ll see an exclusive clip during the Movie Awards tonight — Radcliffe is poised to become one of the world’s most recognizable performers. Kristen Stewart After a couple of uncredited and low-key roles in films like “The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas,” Kristen Stewart broke into the public consciousness as the daughter of Jodie Foster in David Fincher’s terrific 2002 containment thriller “Panic Room.” Flash to six years later, she creates her own panic rooms wherever she goes thanks to her unforgettable turn as Bella, the iconic wallflower-turned-vampire lover in Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight book series. In the meantime, however, she’s done an amazing job showing that she’s more than the devoted girlfriend of a handsome bloodsucker, playing in acclaimed films like “The Runaways,” “Into the Wild” and “Adventureland” as she proves that her recognition and success is well-deserved. FILM REVIEW: GET HIM TO THE GREEK

Aaron (Jonah Hill) needs to get Aldous (Russell Brand) to the Greek. Morality for the masses By Don Simpson Writer-director Nicholas Stoller’s Get Him to the Greek is not really a sequel to Forgetting Sarah Marshall, which was also directed by Stoller. The only truly reprised character from that 2008 film is Aldous Snow (Russell Brand), the sex-crazed and drug-addled rock star. It is many years later and Aldous is recovering from a devastating break-up with his ex-wife,

Zach Galifianakis Tries To Out-Goofball Ben Stiller At The MTV Movie Awards

Bradley Cooper, Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock make for an eclectic, tough Best Comedic Performance field on Sunday. By Todd Gilchrist Zach Galifianakis Photo: Warner Bros. Pictures To call Best Comedic Performance the goofiest of all MTV Movie Awards categories is not an insult. Quite frankly, when it comes to being a movie cut-up, goofier is better, and this year’s nominees include an eclectic group of performers who know how to make audiences giggle. Before the awards ceremony begins Sunday night at 9 p.m. ET, head over to MovieAwards.MTV.com to check out clips of the nominees for Best Comedic Performance — and you can still vote for your favorite through Saturday (June 5). Ben Stiller in “Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian” Ben Stiller is nothing if not put-upon in many of his roles, from “There’s Something About Mary” to “Meet the Parents.” But in “Battle of the Smithsonian,” Stiller elevates his underdog persona to heroic new proportions, playing Larry Daley for a second time as he scuffles with literal armies of historical figures who turn the iconic Washington, D.C., museum into a funhouse. Bradley Cooper in “The Hangover” Truth be told, Bradley Cooper’s appeal has as much to do with his good looks as his ability to make audiences laugh. But in “The Hangover,” he provides eye candy and comic timing in equal measures, playing a teacher who uses his students’ field trip money for his buddy’s bachelor party in Vegas. Facing off against tigers, tasers and the untamed facial hair of Zach Galifianakis, Cooper reminds comedy fans that you don’t have to look funny in order to be funny. Ryan Reynolds in “The Proposal” Ryan Reynolds, like Bradley Cooper, is certainly easy on the eyes, but his pedigree as a purveyor of yuks is decidedly more assured. In “The Proposal,” Reynolds plays the long-suffering assistant of a demanding book editor (played by fellow nominee Sandra Bullock) whose latest demand is that he marry her. Reynolds is predictably upset about his unexpected nuptials, but it’s a testament to the actor’s talent that he makes his character’s transformation from exasperated assistant to potential partner both believable and hilarious. Sandra Bullock in “The Proposal” Bullock has been a successful comedienne since the beginning of her career, but her success in the last few years shows that some performers only get better with age. In “The Proposal,” she plays Ryan Reynolds’ book-editor boss, a woman devoted to her career at the expense of everything else in her life — including renewing her work visa. Enlisting her frustrated assistant to marry her for citizenship, she turns the terrible-boss act into comedic gold. Zach Galifianakis in “The Hangover” Also nominated for Best Breakout Star, Zach Galifianakis crashed into mainstream comedy in a huge way last year. In “The Hangover,” he plays Alan Garner, a “gifted” groomsman who inadvertently drugs his buddies during their bachelor party and sets into motion plenty of morning-after hilarity while they hunt for the missing groom. Galifianakis is not only the comedic catalyst for the film’s story, but also the source of many of its most memorable moments and almost single-handedly helped Mike Tyson revive his career. Oh yeah, he also puts a pair of Blue Blockers on a baby and faces down a tiger. Rick Ross Talks ‘Window Seat’ Remix Video With Erykah Badu

‘We continuing where the first ‘Window Seat’ ended,’ Ross tells MTV News. By Shaheem Reid Erykah Badu bled the words “group think” in her critically acclaimed (but nonetheless controversial) “Window Seat” video , but that wasn’t the end of her journey. Badu recently shot a video for the “Window Seat” remix with Rick Ross . “I had to come get the queen,” Ross said about the video. “They had her boxed up.” The clip starts with Ross coming to get the Grammy-winning songstress from jail. “It was only right. I was swerving through Dallas in that Porsche Panorama turbo. I had to slide up on her, scoop her up. We got back to business. We went on another caper. “It’s basically, we continuing where the first ‘Window Seat’ ended,” he added. “Where she was assassinated and ultimately scooped up and arrested. We continuing from there. She’s got a dope cut on her album called ‘Get Money.’ Y’all need to download and check it out. It’s the next single. And it’s the bridge between the assassination, going into the ‘Window Seat’ remix, me doing my sh–. Then we ultimately going into ‘Get Money,’ which I feel is my favorite record off of [New Amerykah Part Two: Return of] the Ankh. ” Like she did in the original video, Badu came up with the concept and directed it with Creative Control as the cinematographers. “She most definitely is a super talented individual,” Ross said. “Of course she’s extremely beautiful. It’s hard to look into her eyes for too long. She’s so sweet. Just to see her creativity. She also directed the video along with her team. To see her vision, just to see her work ethic. She’s like me. We filming to the wee hours. It’s real big. She’s the definition of a strong woman. I’m proud for her to be a strong black woman, just to see her so hands-on with her career. From the producing of her music to the writing of her music. The entire process of her writing her entire album all the way down to directing her videos and editing. For me to be sitting here while she’s [filming the video], doing what she’s doing, the singing. And she’s also checking the angles. It was like, ‘Wow.’ I never knew that. I knew she was super talented and so hands-on and in charge of her entire project. She gets the ultimate boss look.” What do you think of the “Window Seat” remix with Ross? Amanda Seyfried Sticks to Beastiality of the Day

I don’t know how I feel about Amanda Seyfried but I am pretty sure she freaks me out a little. She’s inconsistent in her career, which was something I liked cuz it involved her getting naked in some lesbian movie while doing shitty teen movies at the same time, but whenever I see pictures of her or hear her in interviews, I get weirded out. She’s sloppy and looks like she doesn’t wash her pussy and is always with fucking dogs…It’s like they are the only creatures that she can interract with like the weird lady I run into everyday when walking my stupid dog…and I think she gets a little too involved and takes that shit to the next level by smearing peanut butter…if you know what I mean…You see I have seen and met dog people…but she’s on a whole other level of dog people…you know the kind who let their dogs do things no one ever finds out about because dogs can’t speak people…it’s probably some kind of mental disorder like autism and I wouldn’t mind getting to the bottom of…starting at her pussy…with my tongue…. Here are a couple of pictures of her from the other day without her dogs…but it is safe to assume that she’s talking to her dog on her cellular and he’s not giving her the barks she was hoping for….
