By Shaheem Reid Mr. Finley Photo: Kamp Wess Fire Starter: Mr. Finley Mr. Finley is hoping that the old slogan “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” doesn’t hold true for much longer. Well, at least when it comes to his career. The 26-year-old and his team, K.A.M.P. Wess, have been making music for years in Sin City, building up a local fanbase. A breakthrough came last summer when Finley and K.A.M.P. Wess signed a record deal through Ghet-O-Vision/ Def Jam. Although it’s taken some time to get the project off the ground, Finley is coming with a double-fisted assault of singles and videos for “Blowin Dat Endo,” a smoker’s anthem, and a dedication track for his hometown, “Sin City.” “My father was out in the streets from before I was born until I was 17 years old,” Finley told Mixtape Daily. Pops Finley was actually grooming his son to be a singer, the MC said. “He was running the streets. I got older cousins and little cousins, they still out there running the streets. They’re still carrying on this Finley name. If you get your name checked out [by police], you automatically in trouble out here. It don’t stand for nothing good as far as the law and all of that sh– is concerned. I’m just trying to clean my family name up and show we stand for something more.” When Finley goes to the ‘hood, though, all his homies still call him “Weas,” short for “Weas Mac.” The abbreviated “Weas,” he said, comes from the nickname he was tagged with as a teenager: “Weasel.” It turns out the young Mr. Finley had developed a reputation for taking other guys’ girlfriends. But chasing the ladies was just a pastime — Finley’s real diversion was chasing dollars. And when it came to the concrete, he was accepted on both sides of the turf. “My father, he started one of the only Blood gangs out here, but I didn’t really grow up with my father,” Finley said. Raised with his grandparents, the Vegas rapper admitted it was sometimes crowded, with upward of 15 cousins living under the same roof. “I grew up with my mother, [who] grew up in a Crip neighborhood. All my friends that I grew up with since kindergarten grew up and had older brothers that were already Crips. These was my n—as, so it was only the natural thing to do. Me and Pops, we bumped heads when he found out I was a Crip and all that, but we love each other. “But I do this music and represented for the city so long — way before I got a deal. So what I’m doing, everybody sees. All the people that grew up in the ‘hood I grew up in, the Westside, they gonna ride with me. Now, with only 11 episodes to go, many fans have been wondering what’s up next for the “Hills” cast. MTV News caught up with some of the stars, who said they won’t be stepping out of the spotlight anytime soon. “I’m transitioning to hosting, so I would love to host a style show, a travel show, a cooking show,” Lo Bosworth told MTV News . “Something like that next. … I think a long-term goal for me is to be on a talk show. I would love, love, love to do that. I have some off-camera projects that are going, but I can’t reveal them yet — but very soon. I am really excited for the next step.” Like Bosworth, co-star Kristin Cavallari is also looking to continue her career in television — but behind the lens. “Going back to ‘The Hills,’ I’ve enjoyed seeing the behind the scenes and how everything gets put together, the TV magic,” she said. “So I want to start producing. I’ve been pitching some shows and talking to some people about that. So, hopefully, right away I can get one of those running, and then I want to keep acting. I would like that. I like being in charge and calling the shots.” Although there’s been talk that Audrina Patridge may land her own reality show, she said that a break was foremost on her mind. “I plan on taking a vacation,” she said. “I really want to go to Europe and just travel and hang out with my friends and family down in Orange County. But other than that, I’m still going to castings and still going to auditions for acting, definitely going to continue pushing for that. I would love to do a time piece, like, medieval. I love ‘The Tudors’ and I love ‘Troy’ and those types of movies. So, that’s my dream.” With her castmates eyeing the film and television worlds, Stephanie Pratt said she’ll focus on fashion . While on the show, Pratt enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. “My original goal before ‘The Hills’ was a career in fashion,” she said. “I’m designing handbags right now with a partner, and other leather accessories.” What would you like to see “The Hills” stars do next? Bret Michaels Undergoing Tests, Hopes To Resume Tour In Summer

Carter Bret Michaels Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage The cause of rocker Bret Michaels’ brain hemorrhage from last week hasn’t been discovered, but his return to the stage is already in the works. It’s possible that the current “Celebrity Apprentice” contestant could even be back rocking the house by the end of May. The 47-year-old former Poison frontman has been in the hospital since April 22, recovering from the hemorrhage (which came on the heels of an April 12 emergency appendectomy), and he most recently was upgraded from critical to stable condition. A statement from his website thanks fans for their continued support and the well-wishes, and also says that the rocker is responding well to tests and treatments. More information on Michaels’ condition is expected to be release on Monday, as he’s undergoing a varying amount of tests to determine the exact cause of the rupture. “While Bret is recovering we obviously have some shows that are being rescheduled. We are working to reschedule dates from now until May 21. At this time we are planning to resume the tour May 26 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas,, provided there are no further complications or setbacks,” the statement read. “We will then continue with all scheduled dates throughout the summer and fall, including the June and July tour with Lynyrd Skynyrd. Look for additional information in the days and weeks to come.” The statement also told fans who hold tickets to rescheduled shows that theirs will be honored on the new dates. Courtney Love Recalls Hazy ‘Letterman Years’ On ‘Late Show’

Now 45 and sober, Love stopped by the show on Tuesday night for the first time since that 2004 incident and explained to Letterman that she is a changed woman. “They had to douse me out and clean off and pick all the little things out of my hair,” she said when Letterman sounded shocked at the long gap between their chats. “It started when I came on this one talk show and got on someone’s desk and took my shirt off and danced on it,” Love said, looking down in mock embarrassment. She also revealed that right after the flashing incident, the start of what she called her lost “Letterman years,” Love got arrested that night, and then things kind of went to hell for the next three years. “You’re not blaming this on me, are you?” Letterman asked, concerned. When asked what her “bottom” was, the moment when she realized she needed help and had fallen into the abyss, Love said succinctly, “Your desk.” Probed further about what had prompted her to disrobe during that visit, Love explained, “Drew Barrymore had done it when she was 19, and I was so out of my mind when I did it, I thought I was 19. But I was actually 39.” For his part, Letterman deadpanned, “I enjoyed it. … I don’t want to be what they call an enabler … but it seemed like you were at the top of your game to me.” Love noted that the video of that appearance is still one of the first things that pops up on a Google search of her name. The one-time grunge-pop icon claimed on Howard Stern’s satellite radio show on Monday that she had a torrid eight-month affair with former Bush singer Gavin Rossdale while the rocker was also romancing his now-wife, Gwen Stefani. She was also not shy when telling Letterman about her struggles with illegal drugs. “I did a lot of cocaine back then. I had bad people around me,” she said. “I abused it. There’s nothing else you can do with cocaine.” While in rehab, Love said she wrote apology letters to a number of people who’d been impacted by her drug-taking, among them Letterman; he confirmed that he’d gotten that letter. Saying she is now sober, Love, wearing a demure cream-colored sleeveless top, black skirt and black hose, also claimed to have been addicted to unnamed pills and “everything bad” before entering rehab and getting cleaned up. Bret Michaels Is ‘A Gentleman And Friend,’ Says Ratt Drummer

By James Montgomery Bret Michaels Photo: George Napolitano/FilmMagic Ratt drummer Bobby Blotzer has known Bret Michaels for nearly a quarter-century, and in that time, he’s had more than his fair share of good times with the Poison frontman. But when Michaels was rushed to the hospital last week after suffering a brain hemorrhage, the memories of those good times took a backseat to genuine concern for his friend’s health. Bret Michaels’ Career In Photos In a statement to MTV News, Blotzer said that he was shocked to learn of Michaels’ hospitalization, and hoped that his friend would recover quickly. “The news of what happened to my friend of 24 years, Bret, came as a shock and with much anxiety,” Blotzer said. “Bret is a gentleman and friend to not only his peers and close personal friends, but to all fans and people around the world. Speedy full recovery soon!” As of Wednesday (April 28), Michaels remained in the intensive care unit at an undisclosed hospital, where he is in stable condition. His father told “Extra” that he had recently spoken to his son and that he sounded “a little slow, but fine.” According to a statement posted on his official Web site Michaels has been undergoing a battery of tests while in the ICU, and that, as a result of the stroke, he has been diagnosed with a condition that could lead to severe seizures. “Test results indicate a setback in Bret Michaels’ condition, a side effect from the brain hemorrhage called hyponatremia; a lack of sodium in the body which leads to seizures,” the statement reads. “Due to the severity of his condition, Bret Michaels continues to remain hospitalized in an intensive care unit at an undisclosed hospital.” Michaels, 47, was taken to the hospital late Thursday night, after complaining of severe headaches. Doctors eventually discovered that he had suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage , a survivable but serious stroke that causes bleeding in the fluid-filled spaces around the base of the brain. The City Season Premiere Recap: Whitney Port Rules, Roxy Olin and Olivia Palermo are Useless

The City picked up right where we left off last season with Whitney getting her big chance at New York Fashion Week, and Olivia continuing to be dead weight at Elle. If nothing else, last night’s second season premiere, “Show ‘Em What You Got” was proof positive that this is not The Hills , which is about reality stars doing nothing. While we’ve criticized it often for being boring, at least it knows what it is right now – the story of ambitious young woman attempting to make a career for herself. Here’s THG’s plus-minus recap of The City season premiere … Whitney Port has a show coming up at NYFW and we couldn’t be more excited. Plus 4 for working her a$$ off and chasing a career instead of boys (novel concept). Oh, but then there’s Roxy. Oh, Roxy. She is useless … except for the vital skill of following Whitney around to ask questions so the audience is up to date. Minus 3 . Plus 6 for Kelly Cutrone for supporting Whitney and taking every opportunity to get digs in at Roxy, as if she can’t believe she’s even here and must be dealt with. The fashion show hits predictable snags, but the buyers appear to whisper more compliments than criticism, and Kelly gives Whitney a “job well done” hug. Plus 10 . Olivia Palermo met with Joe Zee to discuss the Today debacle … and belittle Erin: “She’s a publicist… I’m an editor of the magazine.” Minus 7 , because … LOL. At least the two finally ended their feud … kinda sorta. Erin backed off her threat to leave Elle if Olivia wasn’t fired, and continued her career. Smart move. Plus 8 . Smart for her career, that is. Erin still hates Olivia’s guts. No points , we’re just saying. How someone so inept is still employed in this day and age is beyond us. Bless her heart, Whitney Port cannot express emotion with her voice. Every sentence sounds identical. Minus only 2 , though, because her eyes help compensate … Robbie insinuates that Olivia is a fame whore and Erin would soon be jealous of all the additional attention she’ll be getting. Pretty much spot on, Robbie! Plus 5 . We loved how Whitney was a mess before her collection debuted, putting the fashion line above her own appearance. Plus 3 again for the right priorities, girl. Olivia, while interviewing Anna Sui: “You won the CFDA Lifetime Achievement Award, and I was there.” Minus 12 for trying to make every effing thing about her. Hey Roxy, effing do something. Anything. Make us interested in your presence. Minus 4 . The girl wants to be an actress – stir up some drama, already! Yeesh. TOTAL: +8 . A surprisingly strong debut for Whitney & Co. We’re skeptical that they’ll be able to sustain borderline compelling levels, for long, but here’s hoping …
