Anna Kendrick ‘Sprinted Onstage’ To Accept MTV Movie Awards’ Best Movie

‘I didn’t know if I should go up at the end or not,’ she says of her small role in ‘New Moon.’ By Kara Warner Anna Kendrick Photo: Getty Images Anna Kendrick spent much of last year as a critical darling, rewarded with one nomination after another for her performance opposite George Clooney in “Up in the Air.” Despite all the acclaim, Kendrick seems convinced that most of her MTV fans still know her only as Jessica Stanley from the “Twilight” films. Judging by her visibly surprised expression upon hearing her name called for the Best Breakout Star at Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards , the starlet appeared not to have considered the Twilighters’ voting power. “I am not cool enough to win an MTV Movie Award!” she said when she accepted her Golden Popcorn, beating out Chris Pine, Zach Galifianakis, Gabourey Sidibe, Logan Lerman and Quinton Aaron for the honor. “So I am not going to mess it up by talking any more than I should.” Later on in the show, Kendrick faced a similar self-conscious struggle in deciding whether she should join her castmembers onstage to accept the Best Movie award for “New Moon.” “It’s so weird. I’m not, like, a big part of the movies, and I understand people are in it for Rob [Pattinson], Taylor [Lautner] and Kristen [Stewart],” she told MTV News. “So I didn’t know if I should go up at the end or not [when the cast won Best Movie]. At the last second, I sprinted onstage. “I was really psyched to get Best Breakout,” she added. “That was so exciting, and then when [‘New Moon’] won, I was the idiot who crawled onstage at the last second.” What did you think of Kendrick’s win and acceptance speech? Would you have second-guessed getting up onstage with the “Twilight” cast? Sound off in the comments! Jessica Biel And Bradley Cooper Need To Catch Up On ‘Jersey Shore’

They better hurry — the ‘Jersey Shore’ cast will join the ‘A-Team’ stars on the MTV Movie Awards red carpet Sunday! By Todd Gilchrist, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Bradley Cooper Photo: MTV News Given the fact that the impeccably coiffed folks from MTV’s “Jersey Shore” are virtually everywhere these days, it’s hard to imagine that anyone isn’t on a first-name basis with the castmembers. But it turns out that some actors and filmmakers simply don’t budget enough time into their superstar schedules to keep tabs on Snooki, JWoww and the rest of the crew. When asked if he were familiar with the show, Bradley Cooper, who is presenting Best Kiss at Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards ceremony, told MTV Movies: “I am ashamed to say that I am not, because all of my friends, that’s all they talk about.” Cooper revealed that he actually has his own Jersey connection: “I grew up going to the Jersey Shore every summer.” Meanwhile, Jessica Biel, who not only is presenting the Best Kiss award with Cooper but also co-stars with him in the new “A-Team” film, admitted she knew about the show, but wasn’t much more familiar with it than Cooper. “I’ve never seen it,” Biel confessed. “I know who these people are — I mean, I don’t live in a hole. Well, somewhat but not really. But I’ve never seen the show.” The MTV Movies team helped Biel out, explaining that Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino’s perfectly carved physique earned him his now-infamous nickname. Biel laughed, “Oh, God, that’s a person? ‘The Situation’ equals ample abs? I wasn’t aware. Thank you! “I know somebody would have said that,” she said about walking the Movie Awards red carpet on Sunday and fielding “Jersey Shore” questions. “And I would have said, ‘I don’t know what’s going on! What’s happening?’ ” During MTV News’ “Jersey Shore Blow-Out at the MTV Movie Awards,” which airs at 8 p.m., right before the Movie Awards, Snooki, Pauly, JWoww, the Situation, Angelina, Sammi, Ronnie and Vinny will present the first 10 minutes of “Jersey Shore” season two . The new season, which premieres in full on Thursday, July 29, follows the cast as they leave the chilly winter waters of Seaside Heights and head out on a road trip to Miami. Don’t miss the live red-carpet coverage, exclusive movie clips and fist-pumping action on MTV News’ “Jersey Shore Blow-Out at the MTV Movie Awards,” airing live from Los Angeles this Sunday, June 6, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. ‘Hills’ Fans Want Lauren Conrad Back, Speidi Breakup In Final Season

Fans agree that Heidi ‘can do a lot better’ than Spencer; ‘The Hills: Final Season’ premieres April 27 on MTV. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Joel Hanek Lauren Conrad Photo: Getty Images While Kristin Cavallari and Lo Bosworth have weighed in on what they want to see happen in the final season of “The Hills,” premiering April 27, it seems that fans have two very specific ideas for what they want to see in the final 12 episodes: Lauren Conrad needs to return, and Speidi need to break up. “I’d like to see more drama between the castmembers and new locations,” Shelby told MTV News, with her friend Julia adding, “I’d also like to see Heidi and Lauren. … If they’re friends anymore or if they, like, get into a big, huge catfight.” It seems that getting LC to return is pretty high on most “Hills” fans’ wish lists. “I would like to see Lauren come back on the show,” Ally said. “She’s my favorite. She’s so cute and pretty and sweet. That’s pretty much all I would really, really want to happen.” Olivia added: “I’d still like to know what she’s up to.” And while a lot of fans want LC back, other fans want Speidi to go their separate ways. “Heidi and Spencer [should] break up,” Holly and her pal Charity agreed. “I don’t really like it. She can do better.” Meredith explained why she’d like to see the show’s most infamous pair call it quits: “I think Heidi and Spencer should break up because he’s a jerk.” “I think she can do a lot better,” Erin added. “I think he’s making her do a lot of bad things.” Chantelle had the perfect way to make all the fans happy: “Lauren needs to come back and maybe have a little affair with Spencer,” she proposed. What do you want to see happen in the final season of “The Hills”? Should LC come back? Should Speidi part ways? Tell us in the comments! “The Hills: Final Season” premieres April 27 at 10 p.m. ET/PT followed by “The City” at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. ‘If I Can Dream’ Gives Wannabe Stars (And Miley Cyrus’ Ex) A Shot At Fame

‘It’ll be nice to open up Hollywood for everybody to see what it takes to make it into a star,’ one castmember tells MTV News. By Joel Hanek, with reporting by Jim Cantiello The cast of “IF I Can Dream” with Adam Lambert, Kris Allen and Allison Iraheta Photo: 19 Entertainment While at the Highline Ballroom in New York on Friday to see Adam Lambert, Kris Allen and Allison Iraheta perform for Ryan Seacrest’s “Rock My Town” concert, MTV News got the inside scoop on another project from the makers of “American Idol.” “If I Can Dream,” a Web series launching in March from Simon Fuller and 19 Entertainment, will feature five relatively unknown actors, models and musicians trying to make it big in Hollywood. The cast of 20-somethings recently met for the first time to embark on a global press tour. Among them: actor Ben Elliott, model Giglianne Braga, actress Amanda Phillips, actress Kara Killmer and musician Justin Gaston. Of the castmembers, Gaston is the most recognizable. Not only has the singer/songwriter already been a contestant on one reality competition show, “Nashville Star,” he has previously dated teen singing sensation Miley Cyrus . (Billy Ray Cyrus hosted the season of “Nashville Star” on which Gaston appeared.) “It’ll be nice to open up Hollywood for everybody to see what it takes to make it into a star,” Phillips said of the opportunity. “I am determined to continue challenging convention and pushing the boundaries of mainstream entertainment,” Fuller said in a statement about the show. “The next frontier is the video world of authentic, real-time interaction.” A little “Big Brother” and a little “X Factor,” the series will showcase the wannabe stars as they cohabitate in a house in L.A. and venture out to auditions. The cameras will be rolling 24/7, and fans can log on and indulge their inner-voyeur at any time. If that doesn’t do it for you, you can check out a weekly 30-minute show on Hulu . In another attempt to deliver full interaction between castmembers and the audience, each member has his or her own “If I Can Dream” MySpace, Facebook and Twitter pages. So what happens if success does strike one of these young unknowns? “I think the whole idea of the show is for us to get successful,” Gaston said. “So the sooner we get out, the better.” The first episode premieres on Hulu on March 2. Will you be tuning in online? Let us know what you think!
