Your boy Herman Cain is bizzzack and he and his 9-9-9-isms hit the stage at the CPAC conference where he discussed a plethora of things such as teleprompters, gutter politics, and the Bible: In the most anticipated address of the day on Thursday, Herman Cain compared himself to the biblical David, who slew Goliath. Cain said he dropped out of the presidential race because he values his family, and then offered the strong analogy. “There were two reasons I dropped out of the race – gutter politics and, No. 2, I chose to put family first,” he said. “And in making that decision, I knew that we together could change Washington, D.C., from the outside and from the bottom up even if your David didn’t make it to the White House.” The crowd didn’t immediately seem to know which David that Cain was referring to, but later in his comments, it became clearer that his reference was to the Bible. Cain also took time out of his speech to recognize Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher, a.k.a. “Joe the Plumber,” who is waging a quixotic campaign for Congress in a very tough Ohio district. “Some of us choose to get off the sidelines, and I admire that,” Cain said. “I don’t regret the move that I made, but there’s more than one way to skin a cat.” Check out the video of his speech below… Even more folks at this CPAC 2012 were going in on Barack Obama: In his speech opening the CPAC conference, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio (R) touched on every leg of the so-called three-legged stool: national security, the economy and social conservatism. It was a jokey speech filled with barbs at Democrats — liberals now call themselves “progressive, which I thought was an insurance company” and “It’s hard to get a teleprompter in this town, there’s a guy who uses a lot of them.” He took multiple shots at Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg and former president Jimmy Carter. Obama, he said, “looks like he’s a really good father, he’s a really good husband, but he is a terrible president.” SMH. Source
Instead of making it rain in the club, Floyd “Money” Mayweather has decided to use his paper in a positive way. He and his boo Shantel Jackson hit up Habitat For Humanity to break them off with a nice little check: Champion boxer Floyd Mayweather is donating a check for $50,000 to Habitat for Humanity Las Vegas in support of its Blitz Build project that starts on June 4. Mayweather will be the Lead Sponsor for the build and has pledged a total of $100,000 to the organization for the project. Blitz Build 2012 is a program that brings the community and volunteers together to build a home for a deserving family in just five days. The house will be located in Vegas Heights and is being constructed for a family of five. Looks like Swizzy is gearing up to be questioned about his site Megaupload that was shut down by the FBI due to piracy claims: Alicia Keys’ husband, Swizz Beatz, was tangled in crisis meetings with his legal team on Friday as the music producer faces possible questioning by the FBI. Beatz is CEO of Megaupload, a file-sharing Web site shuttered by the feds Thursday over Internet piracy claims. Four of the site’s top executives were arrested, but Beatz was not named in the 72-page indictment filed Thursday by the Justice Department. Sources tell us Beatz believes he may be questioned by the FBI and is considering hiring a criminal defense lawyer. If convicted, the arrested executives could face up to 50 years in prison for the largest copyright case in history. Beatz “expects to be questioned by the FBI,” a source close to his camp told us. “He’s the CEO of the site.” When Page Six first revealed last week that Beatz was CEO of the Hong Kong-based file-sharing site, Megaupload lawyer Ira Rothken didn’t dispute Beatz’s position in the organization and acknowledged that Beatz persuaded Kanye West, Will.i.am and Sean “Diddy” Combs to participate in a promotional video for the site. Rothken changed his tune Friday, telling the blog Venturebeat that “[Beatz] was negotiating to become the CEO, but it was never official.” Rothken didn’t get back to us to explain his altered view. Sources tell us Beatz has been CEO of the company for close to a year. “Swizz is satisfied that he isn’t being investigated for any wrongdoing because had this been the case, they would have picked him up at the same time as the others,” a source said. “Swizz had no idea this was coming.
