Craig Strickland – the musician best known as the lead singer of country band Backroad Anthem – has been found dead. Strickland went missing during a hunting trip with life-long friend Chase Morland on December 27. After Morland’s body was found near the capsized boat that he and Strickland had been using to hunt ducks near Ponca City, Oklahoma, officials began to fear the worst. Details are scarce at this time, but early reports indicate that Strickland’s body was eventually found several miles from where the boat was overturned. According to weather data from the area, Strickland and Morland would have found themselves in a severe winter storm with winds of up to 45 miles per hour and windchills as low as 15 degrees. The friends seemed to have some idea of what they were getting into, as Morland posted the following ominous tweet just hours before they departed: “In case we don’t come back, @BackroadCRAIG and I are going right through Winter Storm Goliath to kill ducks in Oklahoma.” An Arkansas native, Stickland lived in Fayetteville with his wife, Helen Wisner Strickland, whom he married in 2014. If anyone is ready to usher in a new year, it’s this girl. Kristin Cavallari shared a photo of herself on New Year’s Eve with husband Jay Cutler, recapping for fans how she felt about going out that night, and what her year has been like. “Last night was the second time I’ve put makeup on in over 5 weeks and left the house (besides the grocery store and taking Cam to school),” Cavallari wrote on Instagram. “Even though I shed a few tears, it was a really nice night and felt good to be out. 2015 brought my sweet, baby girl but it also took my brother’s life. “Hoping for no extreme highs and lows this year. Happy new year, everyone.” Cavallari’s brother Michael, died on December 10th after he went missing two weeks earlier; Authorities found the 30-year-old’s body in the desert of Grand County, Utah. Though an autopsy hasn’t revealed a cause of death, officials believe it was due to severe weather conditions and hypothermia , since temperatures in the area Michael was found can dip to the teens at night. On a lighter note, Cavallari took the New Year opportunity to motivate her followers with an inspirational quote, “3 months from now, you will thank yourself.” “First day back in the gym since having Saylor,” the reality star wrote. “Let’s do this. Lemmy Kilmister – the lead singer of the influential rock band Motörhead – has passed away at the age of 70. Almost as well known for his reckless lifestyle as for his inimitable vocal stylings on metal classics such “Ace of Spades,” Kilmister succumbed to an undisclosed form of cancer less than 48 hours after being diagnosed. The official Motörhead Twitter page broke the news to fans moments ago with the following statement: ” There is no easy way to say this…our mighty, noble friend Lemmy passed away today after a short battle with an extremely aggressive cancer. “He had learnt of the disease on December 26th, and was at home, sitting in front of his favorite video game from The Rainbow which had recently made it’s way down the street, with his family. We cannot begin to express our shock and sadness, there aren’t words. We will say more in the coming days, but for now, please…play Motörhead loud, play Hawkwind loud, play Lemmy’s music LOUD. Have a drink or few. Share stories. Celebrate the LIFE this lovely, wonderful man celebrated so vibrantly himself…HE WOULD WANT EXACTLY THAT. ” The news comes as fans continue to mourn the passing of the band’s drummer, Phil Taylor, who passed away last month .
