“Nobody can make turn me and @MeekMill. Against each other..we talk everyday, and its deeper than rap w/ us..before #mmg that was my brother” tweeted Wale regarding the recent rumor alleging some “tension” between he and label-mate Meek Mill. Bossip.com had interviewed Meek on the red carpet of the BET Hip Hop Awards which spawned the belief that there was something wrong with the way Wale kept interrupting him. Of course he isn’t going to admit that there could possibly be bad blood brewing between the two. As long as solid music is steadily produced I don’t think we need to worry. Dual seizures in one day alarmed the fans, friends and family of Rick Ross , but when he appeared at his new Wing Stop after the health scare, it seemed he didn’t appreciate the severity of what happened to him. His good friend DJ Khaled spoke with Russell Simmons about how Ricky Rozay is doing, and despite what it may seem, Ross is slowing down. According to ViewHipHop.com , Khaled said, “He is at the crib and is going to rest and just chill until he gets his energy back. He is going to take everything one day by day.” Khaled added, ”I told him [Rick Ross] he has got to just chill and reIax. I told him he is a big enough star that he can just stay home. His life is more important.” Even though people like Khaled are telling Ross to slow down, it’s not necessary. “When he went in the hospital that was a reality check,”Khaled explains. “I’m trying to tell him, but he’s telling me, ‘Khaled you ain’t got to tell me no more, I understand clearly I got to take my life seriously.’” Read the rest of this interview here . With her new album , full of “sad” songs, already in the planning stages, Swift excitedly dished that it’s not the only big thing she has up her sleeve for next year. Her arena-filling, celeb-frequented Speak Now Tour continues chugging along through the early part of 2012, and her perfume, Wonderstruck , is now out on the market, giving fans the chance to smell like the pop star. But, Swift is also making time for some other projects she thinks will have her fans excited. The singer told MTV News she’s working on “some surprise projects that may or may not happen, and possibly some acting.” “I’ve just been so excited about what’s gonna happen in the next year,” she said. “I’m also really excited about [the next album]. I’ve been writing all the time. I’ve been writing so much for the new record. I can’t believe I’m saying that already: It comes out in a year, but I’m already excited about it.” Before we officially ring in the new year, Swift shared that she’s looking forward to the tail end of 2011, with the holidays and her 22nd birthday still to celebrate. “I’m excited about the holidays,” she said. “I love Christmas. Ricki Lake, however, wasn’t atop the leaderboard like usual. By Kelley L. Carter J.R. Martinez Photo: ABC It was, like, totally ’80s week Monday night on ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars.” The show opened with the Bangles performing a quick medley of “Eternal Flame” and “Walk Like an Egyptian” before the remaining celebrities kicked off their performances. Some of the stars grabbed their highest scores of the season, others (like constant score leader Ricki Lake) dropped a bit in rankings. Here’s how everyone fared: Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy The athlete was assigned the tango this week, and the twosome danced to Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ on a Prayer.” The judges found the routine to be strong, sexy and powerful. “Tango is about action and reaction. Hope: You were too willowy. You’re too willowy in the body. I don’t know how Maks controls you. Having said that, I like the aggression and the attack that you put into it,” said head judge Len Goodman. 24/30 Carson Kressley and Anna Trebunskaya Kressley said this has been the most stressful week. He took on the jive and said he couldn’t believe he was still in the game. They danced a rather colorful and cheerleader-friendly routine to Wham!’s “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go,” and the judges thought it was good, wacky fun but lacked technique. “This is a crowning achievement in madness,” Bruno Tonioli said. 19/30 Nancy Grace and Tristan Macmanus After landing one point off the bottom, the TV host took on the rumba to a Spandau Ballet track. The judges thought it was simple but very effective. Still, they wanted more and pointed out a few unstable moments. “It was appropriate. But I want to see real passion when you’re dancing. I don’t feel a connection necessarily to the dance. They’re feeling a little on the drab side to me. And I think you’re a really good dancer. I just want to see more,” Carrie Ann Inaba said. 22/30 J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff The war hero and actor danced the samba to Gloria Estefan’s “Conga,” and it took a while for the audience to simmer down. Likewise, the judges found the routine to be hot and loved his performance. “Way to go, Jose! I didn’t think you’d come out and perform anything like that, because normally guys and the samba don’t work together. But in the future, if anyone says to me how should a guy dance the dance, I’ll say just have a look at J.R,” Goodman said. 28/30 Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke The reality star took on the rumba to Lionel Richie, and the judges thought his dance to “Hello” was a very sentimental and romantic performance. “We’re starting to see Rob the heartthrob. For the first time, I see you using Cheryl as a partner, not hiding behind her, but becoming part of a unit,” Tonioli said. 25/30 Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer The duo danced the samba to Kool and the Gang’s “Get Down On It,” and unlike other weeks, the judges thought the performance was a step in the right direction. Bono was injury-free and hit the dance floor like he’s never done before. “It’s so nice to see you going strong from last week. That was the most dancing I think I’ve seen you do. Shake it, don’t break it! Good job,” Inaba said. Hard-to-please judge Goodman agreed, saying, “I think that was a gallant effort. I think you got a feel for the dance. What I liked is that you came out and really gave it a go.” 21/30 David Arquette and Kym Johnson Arquette was assigned the tango, and he and his partner performed to “Tainted Love.” He was looking to jump out from the middle of the pack and get a higher score from the judges. (It worked, he earned his highest score in the competition so far.) The judges were all unanimous in their celebration of Arquette, though Inaba and Goodman argued about whether he needed to work on his musicality. “We’re at the halfway stage now. From here on in, you have to show up or shut up. You have shown up, and it was fantastic!” Goodman said. 25/30 Ricki Lake and Derek Hough This twosome has dominated the leaderboard this season, and on Monday night, they danced the foxtrot to the Phil Collins and Philip Bailey hit “Easy Lover.” They took an ’80s-prom-like spin on the dance, and the judges thought they should have avoided doing the Roger Rabbit dance at the beginning of their routine. They felt the cheesy ’80s dance move threw off the routine. “You did the Roger Rabbit the first time, and you were way off. But when you two dance, what I love the most is how amazingly you work as a team. It’s like you’re one person,” Inaba said. 24/30 Who was your favorite celeb this week? Let us know in the comments!
Mother Monster serenades president on his 65th; Usher and U2’s Bono also perform. By Gil Kaufman Lady Gaga (file) Photo: Kevin Mazur/WireImage Even with a galaxy of big stars on hand to honor former President Bill Clinton on his 65th birthday, it was, of course, Lady Gaga who made the big headlines Saturday night at the four-hour Clinton charity fundraiser , “A Decade of Difference.” Emerging on the stage from an all-white tree house, Gaga sang a sedate, unplugged version of “Born This Way” on keyboards, while wearing a giant cloth hat and flesh-colored cape over a similarly colored top and leggings. The backing track soon pumped up and a group of dancers came out as Gaga made her way down to the main stage and sang the line, “Don’t be a drag, just be a queen,” while the former president and his wife, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, clapped and smiled along. Wearing a blond wig, Gaga paid homage to Marilyn Monroe by changing some of the lyrics to “Bad Romance” to “Bill romance,” prompting the president to later declare, “I thought, ‘My God, I get Lady Gaga, and I will have a heart attack celebrating my 65th birthday.’ ” “Well, I’m having my first real Marilyn moment,” Gaga joked after the opening, running her fingers through her mane. “I always wanted to have one, and I was hoping that it didn’t involve an accident with some pills and a strand of pearls, so here we are.” Gaga’s set also included a run through “Edge of Glory,” during which she said, “I wish you were playing sax with me tonight, baby,” an homage to late E Street horn man Clarence Clemons , who played on the song, but a quip that Clinton could have also taken as a nod to himself, as he’s also known for blowing a mean sax. The show took place at the Hollywood Bowl to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Clinton Foundation and, though his birthday was on August 19, Clinton was still feeling very thankful for all the fuss. “I am the only person in history who got to be President and then had a post-presidential birthday party attended by both Lady Gaga and the Secretary of State,” Clinton said to the crowd, which included such stars as Colin Farrell and Chevy Chase. “I want to thank Hillary because we met 40 years ago this year. When I met her, she was already doing the kind of work you see here long before it was cool.” Also on hand to fete the former president was Stevie Wonder, who performed “Superstition,” “Sir Duke” and “For Once in My Life” and U2 ‘s Bono and the Edge (accompanied by a laptop), who did acoustic versions of “Desire,” “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For,” “Sunday Bloody Sunday,” “One,” “Staring at the Sun” and “Miss Sarajevo.” The pair also unveiled the first-ever live version of “A Man and a Woman” from 2004’s How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb, dedicating it to Chelsea Clinton and her husband, Marc Mezvinsky. The U2 singer praised the former president for his work in helping to broker peace in Ireland, saying that “at the top of the list” for playing the gig was the fact that his homeland is “truly at peace, north and south, because of the 42nd president of the United States of America,” who he dubbed the “most beloved president since JFK for us Irish.” Usher made news because he danced so hard that he split his pants during a mini-set that included a cover of the Joe Cocker take on the Beatles’ “With a Little Help From My Friends,” as well as his own “Yeah!” and “OMG.” Also performing were Columbian pop star Juanes, country singer Kenny Chesney, Grace Potter and K’Naan. Among the celebrities on hand to make introductions were Ashton Kutcher, Ellen DeGeneres, Jason Segel and Maria Bello. Related Photos The Evolution Of: Lady Gaga Related Artists Lady Gaga
Last night, Bill Clinton brought out all types of A-Listers – and Usher – to celebrate the ten year anniversary of the William J. Clinton Foundation. It was a night full of music and reminiscing about all the good Clinton has been able to do with his “Diplomacy Rock Star” status since leaving the White House in 2001. But all that money and do-gooder-ness is probably not why Usher’s going to remember last night’s festivities. It wasn’t just rock (and pop) stars like Lady Gaga, Usher, Kenny Chesney, Stevie Wonder and half of U2 who came out for Saturday night’s A Decade of Difference concert at the Hollywood Bowl, which served as both a 10-year celebration of the global works of the Clinton Foundation as well as the belated 65th birthday party for President Bill Clinton himself (Bono and The Edge even took time out from their set to croon “Happy Birthday” to the former commander-in-chief). But while the night did, at times, take on a serious tone, those were interspersed between moments like Usher suffering a major wardrobe malfunction, Lady Gaga having her own presidential Marilyn Monroe moment, and Ashton Kutcher taking the stage to an onslaught of cheers. He was followed onstage by Usher, whose three-song set was so rousing that somewhere between “Yeah” and “Oh My God,” the R&B superstar’s pants split—though thankfully nowhere that comprised his modesty too much. Instead, Usher was forced to complete his set with his left thigh (and only his left thigh) bared—he made sure of that by holding his pant leg together during some of his more potentially exposing dance moves. Looks like Jeter’s old boo will have more free time to get chopped down by him on weekends… The very crappily made remake of Charlie’s Angels has stopped filming and is headed to cancellation already. Ouch! “A network representative says the show will continue to air on Thursdays, filling the 8 p.m. slot with an unknown number of episodes (four of the show’s eight shot episodes have aired). Last night’s hour showed some ratings growth for the first time, climbing a tenth of a point to 6 million viewers and a 1.3 adults 18-49 rating. But it wasn’t enough to reverse the show’s fate.” So, to try to get a ratings boost, the show is going to have two of the angels make out. Which two? Click over to find out. While it may be fun for us to watch, it probably won’t help the show. Oh well.
