Do YOU think 28 months is too harsh of a sentence for Julez Santana?
Source: Splash News / Splash News They Not Playing With Him Reckless leader of the trap youth Lil Pump has found himself in some hot sauce once again thanks to a video he released on Instagram. He posted a preview of a new song he recorded and it includes degrading stereotypical lyrics about the Asian community. In the clip, Pump raps, “They call me Yao Ming ’cause my eyes real low, ching chong,” while pulling both his eyes back. The clip was posted on Monday and as of Wednesday, it’s been viewed by over 4 million people. Much of social media was outraged by the song lyrics calling them racist and insensitive to Asian folks. “#lilpump pulling his eyes back is equivalent to black face,” one Twitter user wrote . “Lil Pump says the n word and ch*ng ch*ng and yall still cop for this dude? Stop giving ignorant/harmful actions a platform,” said another user. Pump, whose real name is Gazzy Garcia, is Hispanic-America and shockingly gets away with a lot of racial slurs, including the N-word. The powers of a racially ambiguous light bright it seems. Smh. Some notable Asian celebs weren’t about to cut Pump some slack though. Rapper and Crazy Rich Asians star Awkwafina wrote in a since-deleted tweet, “Guess it’s better than ‘eyes chink’ like some other verses I’ve heard. But can we at least think of some more creative racist epithets?” Meanwhile, the Brooklyn-bred Chinese-American rapper China Mac completely slammed Lil Pump on Instagram. “Let me tell you something boy — you a little kid so I’m just gonna scold you like the little boy you are. When you make these fu**ing Asian jokes, you pull your fu**ing eyes, you say all this ching chong sh**, motherfu**ers feel disrespected by that, ya understand what I’m saying? You gonna put some respect on my fu**ing culture, on my motherfu**ing people. You ain’t going to make those fu**king statements without getting f–king checked…Take that fu**ing video the fu** off your page, right now.” Eesh. The Brooklyn leaped out. Lil Pump has yet to respond to the backlash or say if the song will be released. If China Mac plays a factor, Pump better chose wisely.
GPS Inventor Gladys West Inducted Into Space and Missile Pioneers Hall of Fame Gladys West is a “ hidden figure ” just like her sorority sisters Katherine G. Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, and Mary Jackson who inspired the film by the same name. West was instrumental in creating the navigation systems that we now call GPS (Geographical Positioning System) during her 42 year career working at the naval base in Dahlgren, Virginia. She was a graduate of Virginia State University and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated . Unable to attend the Aug 2018 induction ceremony, Dr. Gladys West was honored at the Pentagon as one of the 2018 Air Force Space and Missile Pioneers for her contributions to the @usairforce space program. Hired in 1956 as a mathematician at the U.S. Naval Weapons Laboratory, she participated in a path-breaking, award-winning astronomical study that proved, during the early 1960s, the regularity of Pluto’s motion relative to Neptune. Thereafter, from the mid-1970s through the 1980s, using complex algorithms to account for variations in gravitational, tidal, and other forces that distort Earth’s shape, she programmed an IBM 7030 “Stretch” computer to deliver increasingly refined calculations for an extremely accurate geodetic Earth model, a geoid, optimized for what ultimately became the Global Positioning System (GPS) orbit. We thank you, Gladys West, for sharing your brilliance with the world and giving us a much needed technological breakthrough that changed the world forever.
Source: SplashNews / Splash News Is 21 Savage Releasing A Song About Amber Rose? Tuesday night BOSSIP was among a select group of press allowed to preview 21 Savage’s #Motel21 activation, located at a motel on Glenwood Avenue in Decatur near where the rapper grew up. The motel was transformed in advance of 21’s ‘I Am > I Was’ album release this Friday, December 21 and guests can register to attend his listening events in advance of the release on his website HERE . Source: Courtesy Epic Records / Courtesy Epic Records The activation includes numerous hotel rooms which have been staged using inspiration from 21’s lyrics from the new project. Some rooms feature designer inspired art murals, others include weapons and bullets, others have sex workers and strippers, but perhaps the most jarring room features an actress who is clearly obsessed with 21. The walls are covered in maps with string pinpointing different cities where the rapper has been spotted or where she hopes to visit with him. Several letters to the rapper are taped to the walls along with trash and debris that viewers are lead to believe the woman has collected from 21’s discarded trash. Source: Courtesy Epic Records / Courtesy Epic Records There’s also notes addressed to Amber — demanding she leave the rapper alone and accusing her of conducting a publicity stunt. Source: Courtesy Epic Records / Courtesy Epic Records Multiple photos of the former couple are posted on the walls, many with Amber’s head cut out or obscured. Audio snippets from the project were not available at the time of the press preview but it seems pretty likely that 21’s new project includes a song about a woman obsessed with him — and all the Amber mentions have us wondering what dirty details will come out about the couple’s former relationship. Did you think 21 was going to mention Amber on his project? Check out more photos from the activation below:

Upset on… Offset’s Father Criticizes Cardi B The father of Offset had some things to get off his chest on social media. Michael Woodward who goes by Tony Pla on social media, recently aired out his daughter in law in the midst of her ongoing drama with his son Offset. According to Woodward who’s a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and owns a property management/renovation company, he’s sick and tired of people harshly criticizing his son. Not only that, Offset marrying a “hot headed female” like Cardi B was a recipe for disaster. “People do and say hurtful things about my family members daily; specifically my child. While he ain’t perfect, he is mine and as a parent, I have a duty to protect him,” wrote Michael in an Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity group page. “Right now, I cannot do that. Like most young adults, he doesn’t always do what he’s advised to do but we are talking about a 25-year-old with an unlimited supply of money, women chasing him, people at his disposal, etc. Couple that with a hot headed female that thrives off of social media attention and is on the same financial level as/above him and it’s a recipe for disaster. He also added that there may be other elements at hand that could be exacerbating Offset and Cardi’s issues and notes that there were family emergencies that the public doesn’t know about. “Psychological issues, depression, and drugs that make the situation worse,” wrote Michael. “You all do not know how that effects the rest of the family from late night phone calls, emergency travel, news, media, etc. I did not sign up for this. Everything I do and say is scrutinized, everyone wants a favor to get close to him or Cardi. He also broke down a scary situation where his home was raided by federal agents and added that his daughter came home to a blocked off street where agents were waiting with guns drawn. Most interesting however is when he breaks down what happened when Cardi released that video announcing her split from Offset. Michael says his phone blew up after Cardi not only sent out the video but dropped that first pic of baby Kulture to “spite his son.” “Last week when Cardi posted the divorce video I could not get any work done at work as the phone calls, texts, DMs, etc were non stop. She released the baby picture out of spite. It was supposed to come out in his album. She basically screwed my whole family over that vowed not to release pictures to social media. My whole family is in an uproar right now and I can’t fix it. […] I would not wish this on anyone.” Michael recently attended Offset’s “Set Gala” with Offset’s mom Latabia Woodward.
