Wells Fargo Does An About Face After BOSSIP Highlighted Black Stuntmen’s Fight For Bank To Honor Black Stagecoach Driver In Commcercial The Black Stuntmen’s Association scored a win in their fight against Wells Fargo to honor a freedom-fighting black stagecoach driver who worked for the bank during the California Gold Rush. Wells Fargo bank offered to fork over a $10,000 grant to the Black Stuntmen’s Association the day after BOSSIP asked its reps about the group’s battle with the bank to commemorate their one-time employee, William Robison, with a commercial featuring a black stagecoach driver. The bank also agreed to include them in an upcoming publicity campaign. “We recognize the importance of your legacy to the African-American community,” Wells Fargo rep Lisa Frison told the stuntmen in an email, “and would be pleased to help bring broader visibility and awareness to your organization in this way.” But association president Willie Harris said the $10,000 amounted to “hush money,” and said the bank hadn’t been in touch for weeks until BOSSIP began asking questions. “I think they think if they offered us the $10,000 we would go away,” Harris told BOSSIP. “We ain’t for sale.” “Why did they wait till you called?” he asked. “We do have some pride.” The association – created in the 1960s to tackle the entrenched racism in the Hollywood movie stunt industry – has been in a two year fight with Wells Fargo over Robison, who drove a six-horse stagecoach from Stockton, Ca. to the Nevada gold mines for 40 years until he retired in 1895. Robison was part of a gun-toting gang who freed a group of African-Americans in San Joaquin County who were being illegally sold into slavery. Robison also worked to desegregate California’s school system, and as a delegate in the state Convention of Colored Citizens, he distributed petitions demanding blacks be allowed to testify in court. We’ve reached out to Wells Fargo for comment. Harris said he’s asked Wells Fargo for a face-to-face meeting, and he doesn’t know if the group would accept the money. “We’re not stupid and we do have respect for ourselves,” Harris told BOSSIP. “We’re going to stand on our feet.”
Mendeecees Copped To Major Drug Slinging Last Spring; Faces Up To 40 Years Love & Hip Hop New York’s Mendeecees Harris has been given a little bit more time to enjoy life on the outside. The admitted drug kingpin and father of two has had his sentencing hearing for drug trafficking delayed until the Fall, BOSSIP can reveal. Harris, who earlier this year pled guilty to felony conspiracy and possession with intent to distribute, was supposed to be sentenced Aug. 31 in New York State Federal Court, but the sentencing hearing was pushed back until Oct. 2. “It was the judge’s schedule,” Harris’ lawyer, Donald Thompson, told BOSSIP. “We didn’t have any control over it.” The government contended that Harris helped operate a large drug dealing operation that funneled huge quantities of cocaine and heroin from New York City to upstate New York. Under his plea deal, Harris could get anywhere from five to 40 years in prison, as well as a $5 million fine. Thompson said it wasn’t yet clear how much time Harris was going to do. “As we get closer, we’ll have a better idea,” he said. “We don’t have anything firmed up. In the meantime, Harris is keeping busy with work and family, Thompson said. “He seems to be doing well,” he said. “They’re filming the new season, he’s doing a lot of public appearances.”

California Woman Racially Attacked By White Man With Machete Another racially diven attack has taken place in California. This time, a woman was charged by a racist White man wielding a machete , angrily shouting anti-Black sentiments . Via ClutchMagazine : When she moved from Alabama to Alameda County, California Dr. Nakieta Lankster never thought she’d be a victim of a hate crime, but that’s exactly what he said happened during the early morning hours of August 22. As she sat in front of her condo just after midnight, Lankster spotted a white man staring into her car. At first, she didn’t think much of him. “He was still on the sidewalk, so I thought maybe he was looking for somebody,” she told CLUTCH, discussing the traumatic incident for the first time. Though Lankster didn’t worry about the man at first, when he circled around the front of her vehicle, still peering into her windows, she decided to head inside her apartment. That’s when she saw his machete. “He just started charging at me with the machete and screaming ‘F– you, Black b—h, don’t get stabbed,” Lankster recalled. After threatening her, the man then began pacing in the street while yelling, “F–k Black Lives Matter,” before advancing on Lankster again. “I hopped in my car. I’ve never moved that fast in my life,” she said, still shaken up days later. Lankster drove to a shopping center down the street from her condo and called the police. Within minutes, several officers from the San Leandro Police Department arrived and took the man down. Even though Lankster had never seen the man, police informed her that he is actually one of her neighbors. And it seems he really didn’t like her living on his block…Lankster says that even as police were cuffing him, he continued to hatefully stare her in the eye. SMH! Thankfully she made it out of this incident unharmed, because this could have gone even further left very quickly.
Derrick Rose Accused Of Gang Rape Bulls Baller Derrick Rose is in the hot seat today, as a new lawsuit filed by one of his former girlfriends alleges that at the end of their two-year relationship, the player lured her to his home, laced her drink with a drug , and eventually forced her to have sex with him and two of his friends. Via TMZ : Derrick Rose is being sued by a woman who claims the NBA superstar and two of his friends drugged and gang raped her. The woman, identified only as Jane Doe, says she and Rose dated from 2011 to 2013. During that time, Rose allegedly tried to pressure her to masturbate in front of him, allow him to have sex with her friends and engage in group sex with strangers, all of which she says she refused. Rose’s accuser says the two continued to date until August 2013, when Rose and two friends, Ryan Allen and Randall Hampton (who is also Rose’s personal manager), invited her to Rose’s Beverly Hills house. She says there, they slipped a drug into her drink with the aim of raping her. The plaintiff says she escaped the house with a friend, but later that night, Rose and his friends broke into her apartment and gang raped her while she was incapacitated. She says she remembers only “flashes” of the incident, but can remember the defendants forcibly raping her. She claims she waited for two years to file the suit because she was “ashamed and embarrassed” of what happened and concerned her “conservative family” would find out. She wants unspecified damages. We’ve reached out to an attorney for Rose, but so far … no word back. YIKES. These are some TERRIBLE charges! Wow…it will be really interesting to see how this all shakes out.
Chris Brown Adds More Ink To His Head Tattoo Breezy wasn’t quite done with the reckless tattoo session he got into the other night. The R&B crooner was feeling his head-tatt so much that he went back to add even more ink to his skull today. Chris made it clear that he doesn’t care about the online roast sessions he’s been subjected to since permanently printing a random white woman on his head yesterday while debuting the new art on the other side of his head via Instagram earlier today: We’re still in the dark as to what all of this ink means.
