Maroon 5’s ‘One More Night’ Video: Adam Levine Loses Everything

Pop star plays a boxer whose relationship is in ruins because of his profession in the new clip. By John Mitchell Adam Levine in Maroon 5’s “One More Night” Photo: In Maroon 5 ‘s video for their latest single, “One More Night,” frontman Adam Levine plays a boxer dealing with personal turmoil as he prepares for a big fight. “One More Night” opens with two goldfish swimming around in a bowl before segueing into a sequence where the seemingly idyllic home life Levine enjoys with video girlfriend Minka Kelly and their baby daughter is set against scenes of his hands being wrapped and of him training in a boxing ring. At home, he eats a protein-heavy meal and revels in his baby girl’s laughter as he holds her high in the air. But all is not well, as frequent cuts to Kelly’s concerned frown let on. The writing is on the wall when he has to leave for a big fight. As he steps into the ring to cheers, she packs her bags. He wins the fight, but when he returns home battered from the battle, he finds he’s lost everything that really mattered. Kelly and their child are gone and all that’s left are the relics of his profession — trophies, a jump rope, a few pictures and a lone goldfish. Levine hustles in the ring and trains hard for the big show, but it ultimately comes at the expense of everything he holds dear. Taken further, the clip could be looked at as a metaphor for the difficulties Levine faces balancing his professional life as a world-famous singer and TV star and a personal life with the same wants (happy relationship, a family) as everyone else. Perhaps the video is a lingering response to his recent breakup from model Anne Vyalitsyna , which came less than a month before the band debuted the smash single, “Payphone” featuring Wiz Khalifa. The song continues to enjoy huge success on the charts; it is #3 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100, having peaked at #2 a few weeks back. Maroon 5 and Levine have been riding a professional high for some time (they spent weeks at #1 late last summer with the Grammy-nominated “Moves Like Jagger” and Levine has found major success on “The Voice”), but is it worth it when it comes at the expense of private happiness? That’s the question the “One More Night” seems to be asking. With the pop star left sitting alone on a couch in a sad, empty house at the video’s end, Levine’s answer to that question is pretty clear. What did you think of Maroon 5’s “One More Night” video? Ozzy And Sharon Osbourne Confident Jack Will ‘Conquer’ MS

Ozzy wants Jack to get a second opinion on diagnosis. By Gil Kaufman Jack Osbourne Photo: Just days after Jack Osbourne
revealed that he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis earlier this year, rocker dad Ozzy Osbourne has come out encouraging his son to get a second opinion. Ozzy, 63, told Britain’s Hello! magazine that he was, “misdiagnosed with MS a few years ago. It took them six months to work out I have a rare hereditary tremor called Parkin Syndrome.” Given his experience, Ozzy has told Jack that he should undergo further testing to make certain that he has MS
and not some other illness that may be curable. Jack underwent tests in April following the birth of his daughter, Pearl Clementine, when he noticed he’d lost vision in one eye and was experiencing headaches. He told the magazine that MS is not unknown in his family. “Mum took it really quite hard,” Jack said. “My uncle on her side has MS and, the way my mum is, she thinks that somehow it’s her fault. Both my parents were handling it way worse than I was. They were pretty shaken up about the whole thing.” Mother Sharon Osbourne burst into tears on Monday while discussing the diagnosis on her show, “The Talk.” “He’s great, he’s doing really really good,” she said. “I want to thank everyone for your goodwill and messages … It’s been amazing for Jack, because I really believe that vibes and prayer help. And what I’m doing right now is not helping, because I’m just feeling sorry for myself, and that is no good. So we have to think positively and get on with this show that we love.” By the time she sat down with Conan O’Brien on Tuesday night, though, she had composed herself and was feeling more upbeat about Jack’s prognosis. “It’s actually been a month and we kept it to ourselves for a month,” she said. “He is actually doing amazing, he is so strong and positive … my son will conquer!” In the cover story of the new issue of People magazine, Jack reveals that realized something was wrong with him when he “couldn’t see anything in front of me.” At this point, he’s experiencing an 80 percent vision loss in his right eye, but hoping that medication and a healthier diet might help reduce the symptoms of the disease, which attacks the brain and spinal cord. “It’s just one of those things you take as it comes,” said Jack, whose vision has improved. “It’s all about your outlook.” Promising his life is “far from over,” Jack is keeping a positive attitude, something Ozzy praised. “He’s handled it much better than I would have,” the hard rock icon told the magazine. “He’s a very strong kid.” Besides, added “America’s Got Talent” judge and cancer survivor Sharon, 59, “Osbournes survive everything. We really do.”

Justin Bieber: A ‘Humble’ Evolution From My World To Believe

Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun, opens up to MTV News about the singer before ‘Bieber Live’ airs Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber Photo: In the lead-up to the release of Justin Bieber ‘s album Believe , there has been a lot of talk about how much the 18-year-old has grown up since he dropped his first EP, My World, back in 2009. Sure, he is actually older, but the conversation has also been focused on how his music sounds more mature. He no longer seems to be crafting sugary-sweet tracks like “Baby.” The pop star will celebrate his mature new album during “Bieber Live,” airing Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. Bieber will join Sway and 100 lucky fans for an interview and a pair of performances. Adding to his growth is the fact that in the two and a half years since that debut release, Bieber has quite literally done it all. He’s toured the world (several times over), topped the charts, won a lot of awards, fallen in love, become a boss to his own artist , owned the box office, befriended some of the biggest MCs in the game, vowed to “Never Say Never” and, yes, became legal. As tiring as it may sound to be Justin Bieber, his manager, Scooter Braun, notes that when the singer sat down to make the album, he didn’t want to rush it or be lazy about it. He wanted it to be perfect. His experiences are not only helping shape him as an artist but also helping him mature as one. “You know, I think a lot of times with big superstars, they don’t always deliver on that big album. They don’t meet the expectation … sometimes it’s because they’re superstars,” Braun explained to MTV News. “Maybe they think they know it all and they don’t want to listen to anyone else’s input, and sometimes that works and sometimes that doesn’t. “Justin was really humble about this,” he continued. “He probably wrote 200 songs and we just kept working and working and narrowing it down. And there were so many records that didn’t even make it that we’ll save for something else. I think when it was all said and done, there wasn’t one person who listened to that album all the whole way through and thought that we didn’t have something special and really great and something that didn’t just reach the teenagers, but everyone — without losing the teenagers.” The album certainly has been teased for quite some time. The buzz began to really pick up around the time of the release of his holiday album in 2011, when he dropped the name Justin Timberlake as his template for career evolution, setting the bar quite high. “I’m proudest of Justin with this album ’cause I think he delivered,” Braun said. “For a superstar to deliver means a lot.” Others who worked with Bieber on the release told MTV News during the recording process that it was important for him to make music that would help expand his brand beyond the tween and teen market. A big part of Bieber’s musical evolution, however, is about making sure no one gets alienated. “The only conversation we’ve had about Justin’s album that we’re about to do is it’s really important that it’s the proper transition because we’ve seen him [with] ‘Baby,’ now we’re watching him grow up,” his vocal producer, Kuk Harrell , told MTV News back in November. “And we can’t just throw him into the adult game right away. It has to be the proper transition. There’s a record in between.” That mission to help Bieber make the right choices as an adult artist was certainly priority number one when Bieber hit the studio with Mike Posner to work on the album’s lead single, “Boyfriend.” “I think our goal was to make something that me and my friends could listen to in the car,” Posner explained in March. “I think we’ve all known Justin since he was 13, and that’s not the kid I was in the studio with anymore. He’s an 18-year-old. He skateboards with Lil Wayne and hangs out with Lil Twist. Those are his homies. And he listens to hip-hop and he’s a really cool kid. He’s not like a corny guy. “So I wanted to make something that reflected who he is now and who he is going to continue to be,” Posner continued. “I think people have been waiting [for] when he’s going to turn that corner, and the time is now.” Listening to his album, it’s clear that Bieber is trying out new sounds, from dance to R&B and everything in between. But he also just plain sounds different. His voice is deeper than it was when he first started making music. That register change is something he commented on in a recent interview with MTV News. “It’s really deep,” he joked. “The thing is, I’d always put out random songs and give it to my fans, and when my voice was changing I was doing that. So they didn’t randomly just hear [it and go], ‘He’s got a deep voice now.’ It was gradual. They didn’t realize it that much. It just kind of happened. The tone is still the same. It’s just deeper and sexier.” In the end, while it may seem like he’s taking a cut from another pop star named Justin , Bieber is actually focused on following yet another megastar’s template for success. “He’s growing and so is his music,” Braun said. “And I don’t think he’s transitioning and losing any fans. I think he’s just growing. We always study Michael Jackson and the thing I loved about his career is he never lost that 2-year-old that bounced to his music. But at the same time, you’d go to a club and there were adults bouncing also. And I think that’s what we want to do with Justin.” Don’t miss “Bieber Live” on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT on MTV, followed by “MTV First: Katy Perry” at 7:53 p.m., when Katy will debut her “Wide Awake” music video. Kim Kardashian’s Explanation For Divorce ‘Leveled Me,’ Oprah Winfrey Says

Talk-show host’s interview with Kardashians airs Sunday on ‘Oprah’s Next Chapter.’ By Jocelyn Vena Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries Photo: Oprah Winfrey’s highly anticipated sit-down with the Kardashians is set to air on OWN on Sunday, on “Oprah’s Next Chapter.” Now, leading up to the interview, fans are getting some sneak peeks at what the talk-show host got the first family of reality TV to dish about. “I think that’s so ridiculous,” Kim told Winfrey when asked if she ever feels exploited by her manager and mother, Kris Jenner. “First of all, we have to hire a manager. So regardless, someone is going to get that [job]. No one will fight harder for you than your own mother,” she said, according to E! News . “She knows us. She knows all of our moods. … We just get each other. We vibe. It works.” In true Oprah fashion, Winfrey asked all the hard questions, including getting Kim to open up about her short-lived marriage to Kris Humphries . “Everyone who’s asked was the marriage a publicity stunt? Why did she leave after 72 days? Her answer leveled me,” Winfrey said on her Facebook page . “Ok my friends I had the longest interviewing session I can ever recall, talking to ALLLLLLLL the Kardashians. I had never met them, nor seen the show,” Winfrey blogged. “I did a full on Kardashian Kram in preparation, watching major shows from every season. I genuinely wanted to know why they have become a cultural phenomenon? Why do so many people love to watch their every move and why do so many others love to hate them. Are they completely ego centered? Are they really ‘famous for being famous’ or is there something more? “I ‘GOT IT’ … those answers + more,” she added. “Those of you who watch the show know they hold nothing back. This interview I’d say was another level of forthrightness and honesty. Who surprised me the most? Scott. Lamar and Khloe. Kim.” Related Photos Kim Kardashian And Kris Humphries: A Whirlwind Romance

Fun., Black Keys, Wiz Khalifa Get MTV Movie Awards Sales Bump

Sales of the Black Keys’ singles were up by double-digits thanks to their Johnny Depp-assisted Movie Awards performances. By Gil Kaufman Fun. and Janelle Monae perform at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards Photo: It took an extra week, but the performers from this year’s MTV Movie Awards got a Billboard chart bump after participating in the Russell Brand-hosted big screen blow-out. Among the big winners were the Black Keys , Wiz Khalifa and Fun. , who all saw double-digit increases for sales of their albums and/or singles after their spots on the show. The Keys got the biggest lift, with an assist to Generation Award
 winner Johnny Depp
, who sat in on a pair of songs with the Akron, Ohio, blues duo. Thanks to their prominent spot on the show, sales of the band’s El Camino were up 18 percent last week to 10,000, according to the Hollywood Reporter . (The sales increases didn’t factor in until this week because the Movie Awards took place on Sunday, June 3 and the SoundScan reporting week ends at the close of business on Sunday.) The two songs they performed with Depp also saw some chart love, with “Gold on the Ceiling” up 30 percent and “Lonely Boy” taking a 19 percent hike up the charts. A spokesperson for the group’s label said that not only did the Depp cameo help lift sales of Camino , but the prominent spot on the show also created a “healthy” spike of the Key’s back catalog of singles and albums. Khalifa was no slouch, either, with his new single, “Work Hard, Play Hard,” selling 78,000 copies for a 37 percent increase over the previous week. It was a mix of news for fun., whose smash single, “We Are Young,” got the celebs in the crowd up on their feet singing and clapping along, even as sales dropped by 25 percent after a strong six-week run at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. Jean-Claude Van Damme Goes To War Against ‘The Expendables’

‘I kill one of them,’ the Belgian action icon told MTV News about his role as a bad guy in the upcoming ‘Expendables’ sequel. By Josh Wigler, with reporting by Josh Horowitz If “The Expendables” brought the pantheon of action-movie heroes together for one balls-to-the-wall R-rated epic, then the amounts of badassery that “The Expendables 2” promises to bring to the table is even further off the charts. Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger are upping their game from cameos to full-fledged co-stars this time around, with Chuck Norris roundhouse kicking his way into the fray as well. And then there’s Jean-Claude Van Damme, who won’t be just another mercenary following Sylvester Stallone’s lead, either. Quite the opposite, in fact: The Muscles from Brussels is going to be the movie’s villain. “I play Mr. Vilain,” the actor told MTV News during a recent interview. “And I kill one of [the Expendables].” Which Expendable will meet his maker at Vilain’s hands? Van Damme wouldn’t spill the beans. But he did explain why he wanted to go the villainous route for “Expendables 2” rather than join Stallone’s rag-tag group of good-guy mercenaries. “They asked me if I wanted to be an Expendable guy, and they said it’s going to be a big franchise. But I don’t want to be in ‘Expendables 20,’ ” he said. “I want to play a villain to make a good impression. When you play a villain, you get more from Stallone. He gives you more screen time, and then we’ll see what happens. I think him and I did a good job together.” It’s not just his dynamic with Stallone that Van Damme enjoyed, either. The Belgian actor got to work with a healthy portion of the action icons on the “Expendables” cast, folks he already knew from various encounters over the course of his storied career. “You have all those guys: Chuck Norris, Arnold, Bruce Willis, and there’s lots of testosterone,” he said of the vibe on set. “In ‘Expendables,’ you have all of those guys with their trailers and bodyguards. I knew them all. I knew Chuck when I came [to Hollywood] years ago, Arnold with ‘Last Action Hero.’ Bruce Willis, I met him once on Sunset [Boulevard] while driving and racing together. Since I’d met all of them … I was the guy going there in a very friendly way. It was cool. For me, it was cool.” Of course, even with all of those stars in the mix, it’s Van Damme versus Stallone that fans will want to look out for. With Stallone set as the series’ protagonist and Van Damme in the mix as the main baddie, it’s bound to get explosive when these two titans finally clash on the big screen. “It’s like [George] Foreman versus Muhammad Ali,” he grinned. The Real Housewives of Orange County Recap: Row, Row, Row Your Boat

Previously on the Real Housewives of Orange County, the ladies headed to Costa Rica to call Alexis out on her phoniness and materialism. And Vicki took some whacky pills. This week the adventure continues and involves… paddling. Down a river, of course. Read on for THG’s +/- review! We’re still at dinner and Alexis is in tears because Tamra can’t keep her voice down. Tamra’s pretty much being a bitch right now. Minus 25. Vicki says that at times they’re all materialistic. Plus 10 for that tidbit of truth. Gretchen tries to speak up for Alexis but ends up twisting the knife a little bit more. Alexis gets up to leave the table and Heather wants to hug it out first. Alexis says no hugs. She wants to be alone. Gretchen gives her a head start and then goes after Alexis, but Alexis won’t let her in the hotel room. Here’s the kicker – this intervention all happened before dinner was even served. Way to go, ladies. Now Alexis is crying herself to sleep on an empty stomach. Minus 10. Back at the table, Gretchen bursts into tears because she hurt her friend by trying to both be honest and defend Alexis. Vicki decides to take Alexis her lobster dinner and after barging into the room, Vicki promptly begins to talk about herself. Minus 10. Gretchen’s gone from crying to cranky because Vicki was let inside Alexis’ room and she wasn’t. She’s defended Alexis so many times and this is the thanks she gets? The next morning, Alexis packs up to leave so she can go home and take care of her kids and Jim. After a night of contemplation, she’s decided she doesn’t see the phoniness in herself that the other women see. Plus 10 for believing in yourself? I guess? Heather goes to visit her and say that she wants to get to know the sweet girl she thinks Alexis is and they all have things to work on. Heather may not think she’s perfect, but I think she’s pretty close. Because of her, Alexis decides to go on one more outing with the ladies before catching her plane back to Orange County. Plus 10. In the car, Alexis thanks Vicki for visiting and completely ignores Gretchen and the fact that Gretchen went to check on her first. Minus 20. The girls have a champagne picnic on the beach and Alexis pulls Gretchen aside to talk to her. Alexis acknowledges that Gretchen was upset at dinner and Gretchen chokes up when she talks about being turned away at Alexis’ door. Alexis says she felt like she was ganged up on, even by Gretchen. Alexis says that the reason she didn’t want Gretchen in the room is because the minute she opened the door, Gretchen started talking about Gretchen. Gretchen’s explanation was a good one and Alexis completely dismissed it. Alexis only wants to hear what Alexis wants to hear. Minus 10. Alexis leaves and hopefully takes her drama with her. In an attempt to lighten the mood, or something, Tamra tries to pants Gretchen and Vicki. And then she grabs Heather’s boobs. And then she flashes Gretchen her new-old boobs. Tamra’s fun right now. Plus 10 . Vicki and Heather, the sticks in the mud, hang out on a towel and pretend to be embarrassed. Or at least I hope they were pretending. Lighten up, ladies! Vicki arranges for the ladies to all plant a tree since they’re in the rain forest. Tamra plants a “Stinking Toe” tree in honor of Eddie’s ugly feet. Heather picks one with four leaves, one for each of her kids. Vicki chooses a rain tree because, according to the guide, it has the most soul. She also chooses one for Alexis since Alexis isn’t there to plant it herself. It’s a really nice bonding moment. Then Vicki ruins the mood when she says “You know what’s going to be sad is one day when one of us dies.” Alexis’ tree falls apart when Vicki plants it. Heather notes the irony. Tamra picks Vicki’s nose. (No, seriously. She did.) Day three in Costa Rica and the girls are going white water rafting. Heather’s freaking out. As soon as they see the water, Vicki and Heather’s freak-out meters go off the charts. Tamra and Gretchen were okay with rafting until the guide said there are piranhas in the water. Gretchen actually thought she’d get out of this without getting her shoes wet. Minus 10. Vicki won’t shut up and keeps forgetting to paddle. There’s a whole lot of screaming in this boat. A lot. It’s awesome. Plus 25. After they survive the rapids, Heather heads home to take care of Terry and the kids while Vicki melts into a puddle of tears. Vicki, Tamra, and Gretchen have a beer and Vicki’s still emotional. Apparently, Donn’s going to be sad without her. Because she won’t be able to cook him dinner? And she’s the one who wanted the divorce. Vicki says that if Donn wanted her back, they’d be back, which prompts Tamra to ask “you’d go back?” And then Vicki says that she’s happy where she is with Brooks. So again, I’m confused. Then she breaks down about how she’s been married and divorced twice and Briana eloped and that was so hurtful and Briana’s her rock and blah blah blah. I think I like Vicki better when she’s being crazy. EPISODE TOTAL: -20! SEASON TOTAL:-240!

Lady Gaga’s New Album Will Be ‘Insane’

‘Look out for the unexpected when it comes to her,’ Gaga’s co-manager says of the follow-up to Born This Way. By James Montgomery Lady Gaga Photo: Jason Kempin/ Getty Images If there’s one positive that Lady Gaga fans can take from her decision to cancel a June 3 concert in Indonesia , perhaps it’s this: at least she’ll have more time to work on her album. Yes, though she’s currently in the midst of a two-year world tour, Gaga is already hard at work on the follow-up to 2011’s Born This Way and, according to her co-manager, she’s going to push the boundaries even further this time around (which is sure to please those Indonesian Islamic groups ). “There’s a lot of work to come, [I’m] very excited about it,” Vincent Herbert revealed in a new interview with website That Grape Juice. “[It’s] just [an] insane, great record. She’s on tour right now, but it’s just going to be a great record. Look out for the unexpected when it comes to her. We’re doing it on the road right now, so it’s a little hard, but it’s going to be great.” Herbert wouldn’t reveal specifics — tentative release date, title, who she’s been working with, etc. — about the new album, but the news that she’s recording on the road is actually in keeping with the way she began work on Born This Way, when standout tracks like “Marry The Night” took shape with producer Fernando Garibay during her long-running Monster Ball Tour. “I just kind of got on the American leg of the tour … and she goes, ‘I want to write another song that can define where I’m at with this album and my life,’ ” Garibay told MTV News last year. “I go back to the studio bus; I’m just working on parts … and then, two hours later, she comes offstage and she goes, ‘Do you have something to play me?’ And I go, ‘I do, actually.’ “So I played her the instrumental for ‘Marry the Night,’ and she goes, ‘Open up a mic,’ ” Garibay continued. “She starts laying down the whole song, like, off the cuff … right off the stage, using the energy of that crowd and going into the studio, it was amazing. I can’t compare it to anything.” What do you hope the Born This Way follow-up will sound like? Tell us in the comments section! Related Artists Lady Gaga
