Can Atlanta Get Hit By A Hurricane?

Source: Planet Observer / Getty Hurricane season officially began June 1 and will be here to stay until Nov. 30. As we descend into a super-hot summer, we have so far experienced some super heavy downpours, but can Atlanta get hit by a hurricane ? According to GEMA the answer is yes. The Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico pose as a natural threat to Georgia during these months, as they provide the prime conditions for hurricanes to develop. When warm moist air rises cold low-pressure systems begin to develop underneath. This causes the high-pressure air systems surrounding the original system to be drawn in as and rise up to the surface. Eventually things begin to swirl about and boom you have the perfect storm. Warm waters along the equator make ideal conditions for hurricanes to develop. Related:  How Many Streets In Atlanta Are Named Peachtree? There is no doubt the United States’ coastline is completely prone to being hit by hurricanes, and even though the city of Atlanta is landlocked the state of Georgia is not. Most of the time hurricanes tend to hit areas like Miami and New Orleans often leaving a line of destruction behind them, but on the contrary Atlanta has experienced hurricanes before. In 1995 Hurricane Opal hit Atlanta early October leaving thousands of people powerless for days. Fallen trees and powerlines covered the city as it remained closed for clean-up leaving businesses shut down. Source: Marilyn Nieves / Getty However, we haven’t necessarily had a hurricane hit us directly like Hurricane Opal , we have certainly felt the effects of hurricanes recently. When Hurricane Nate made landfall, the entire region experienced nothing but rain and strong winds for the next following days which of course caused down powerlines which meant power outages. Hurricane Irma’s effects left a similar mark with some power outages lasting so long local school systems modified their school calendar to make up for the missed day. Predicting hurricanes is not a simple task, but in Atlanta’s outlook hurricanes may not be such a direct threat for us, but we should never let our guard down when tracking these intense storms. Mother Nature is always in control and we never truly know when that perfect storm is going to be headed our way, so stay alert this hurricane season and don’t get caught in the rain! They can take up to four months to completely heal. When you first get them done, they might look like they resemble blackheads (like the video above). However, they will lighten and fade. Stormy Daniels Feuds with Roseanne Barr Over Anal Sex Accusation

If the headline above does not perfectly sum up the world in which we live at the moment, we don’t know what else would. 2018, huh, people? Earlier this week, adult film actress and former Donald Trump sex partner Stormy Daniels got into a heated Twitter debate with revived sitcom star Roseanne Barr. The topic at hand was the act of anal intercourse. The nauseating back-and-forth started when Daniels Tweeted the following: Have you seen my tits? (Of course, you have) I don’t jog anywhere. So I’ll just sit here, sipping my coffee and talking shit. Xoxo. Aside from detailing her affair with President Trump , Daniels has become known for this sort of forthright talk on social media. She certainly isn’t ashamed of her profession. From here, am Internet user named Sassy Southern Diva (who has since deleted her tweet) replied as follows: “You’re disgusting and do not represent classy women AT ALL. Your fifteen minutes of fame will be up soon and we will all be thrilled when that day comes!” Sassy Southern Diva also tagged in Roseanne Barr in this message, because… why not, we guess? Roseanne is having a moment . For whatever reason, actress Patricia Arquette then got involved, chiming in with this reply: Following this logic -If she doesn’t represent “classy women” I guess that means the President represents classless men? Hmm. Interesting. .. This is where Barr leaped into the very random fray, Tweeting as only she can: she’s known for anal porn scenes. But this is incorrect. Farrah Abraham is known for anal sex scenes. Daniels is just known for having vaginal sex, a point she made in response to Roseanne. I don’t even do anal movies, you ignorant twat ,” shot back Stormy. T hat’s like saying you are known for your beautiful rendition of The Star Spangled Banner. This, of course, is a reference to Roseanne’s infamously disrespectful national anthem prior to a San Diego Padres game in 1990. The comedian grabbed her crotch and spat on the field and was booed at the time by those in attendance. See for yourself: Roseanne Barr National Anthem Fail Fast forward 25 years and Roseanne is a passionate Donald Trump supporter while Daniels was a one-time semi-passionate Donald Trump mistress. And now these two are feuding. Over anal sex accusations. Like we said above: 2018, huh?!?

Princess Charlotte Kisses Prince Louis and the Internet Collectively Melts

Simply put, photographs may not get any more adorable than this. On Saturday afternoon, Prince William and Kate Middleton surprised their many millions of fans by sharing two new photos of their precious new bundle of joy. In the first image, Prince Louis is being cradled and kissed by big sister Charlotte and the resulting image is nearly too cute to handle: Right?!?!?!?!?! Little Louis, of course, came into the world on April 23 . Following months of excitement and even speculation that Middleton was pregnant with twins, the Royal Couple announced on a Monday morning that Charlotte and Prince George now have a brother. “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101 hrs,” read the official Kensington Palace statement at the time. It then added two key pieces of information: “The baby weighs 8 lbs 7 oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth.” Louis was born in Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital in London – where the couple’s other kids were also born – and is dressed in all white for his pair of new photos. In the one below, Louis is on his own, giving social media users their first true and clear glimpse and his angelic face: This second photo was reportedly snapped on April 26, when Louis was just three days old. (And on which Charlotte turned three years old.) In the past, William and Kate waited about a month before dropping similar professional pictures on the world of their children. “Their Royal Highnesses would like to thank members of the public for all of the kind messages they have received following the birth of Prince Louis, and for Princess Charlotte’s third birthday,” Kensington Palace announced this week. Back in early June of 2015, Kate and William unveiled this snapshot of George and Charlotte in a similar pose. Seriously, do these two know how to make beautiful babies or what?!? In a brief statement to the media shortly after his second son was born, William said Louis is sleeping about as strongly as one could expect and that his mother was doing pretty “well.” We’re so very glad to hear it. Along other Royal lines, we recently learned that Pippa Middleton is also pregnant ; while Prince Harry will marry Meghan Markle on Saturday, May 19. It is unlikely that we will see Prince Louis in public until his christening, however. Kensington Palace has confirmed that the newborn royal will not be attending the royal wedding.” Still: Wow, huh? Talk about crazy and exciting times for all involved. We wish the very, VERY best to Kate, William and their three kids. “I don’t know how I’m going to cope with three. I’m going to be permanently tired,” William has said prior to Louis’ birth, echoing the sentiments of nearly every parent out there. But if anyone can do it, we think he and Kate can pull this off. And if they ever need babysitting help… hey, we’re just a phone call away! View Slideshow: Kate Middleton Baby Photos: First Precious Look!

Prince William Drops MAJOR Hint on Royal Baby’s Gender

With Duchess Kate Middleton ready to give birth in the near future , this royal pregnancy is getting more and more attention. And it appears that Prince William may have dropped a massive hint about whether they’re expecting a little prince or a little princess. Is this a major royal gaffe? Like a large number of people, Prince William is a fan of sports. Specifically, he enjoys soccer, which is called “football” in … well, outside of the United States, where soccer is popular even among adults. The Prince is a fan of the Aston Villa Football Club, and celebrated Jack Grealish’s successful and dramatic win for his side when he played against Cardiff City. In his enthusiasm, it appears that he let something slip about his third child with Kate Middleton. Referring to Grealish’s skill on the field and accomplishments during that particular game, William told fans: “I’m going to insist the baby is called Jack.” After a brief pause, in which he may have realized what he had said, he added: “…Or Jackie.” Is this a huge reveal and therefore a major royal gaffe? It is difficult to tell, but many believe that Prince William accidentally leaked his child’s expected sex. When one is excited, even a royal who has been schooled from birth to keep things private can have a loosened tongue. That would certainly shoot down rumors that Kate Middleton is expecting twin girls . (Everyone loves a twin story) But we should mention that it is also possible that was entirely joking about the name “Jack” and only threw in the “Jackie” line so that people would not jump to conclusions. Obviously, that did not work out the way that he may have planned. As for the name itself, well, regardless of the little one’s sex, Prince William is probably joking. Even regular, non-royal people need to be thoughtful about the names that they give to their children. If we all just picked the names of people we admire for our children, it could backfire when prospective employers refuse to interview someone named “Magneto” or decline to hire yet another “Carrie Fisher” because they already have a dozen and it’s already creating confusion at the office. For royals, the pressures when it comes to names are even more intense.  Look at William’s children’s names: George and Charlotte. George is a traditional name in his family, and St. George is said to have slain Britain’s last dragon, and is the patron saint of England.  Charlotte is another name from his family, most notably of Queen Charlotte of Mecklenberg-Strelitz. Also, the name Charlotte has its roots in Charles , the name of William’s father. So it seems likely that whatever name they choose for this royal baby, it won’t be “Jack.” (Probably for the best, since when people outside of the UK think of a famous British person by that name, they’re likely to think of Jack the Ripper ) This baby … who seems more and more likely to be a little prince … will probably have a name with a rich royal history. A name deeply entrenched in British culture. A name hich, zero offense to anyone named “Jack,” will probably have a less common air to it. Now is more or less the right time for the couple to introduce a new child into the family. Princess Charlotte just started preschool , so a new baby will be slightly more manageable. And the child is also close enough in age to Charlotte and even George that they won’t feel like strangers from different generations. They may or may not be playmates, but that will have more to do with personality and interests than it has to do with their ages. We’re all looking forward to the birth of this next royal baby. Even if it does end up being “Prince Jack.” View Slideshow: Kate Middleton: Will She Have a FOURTH Child?
