Queen Latifah Says She’s Serious About Adopting A Child The stork is coming to Hollyweird! And it should be making a stop at Queen Latifah’s crib very soon: Queen Latifah has babies on the brain. The Ice Age: Continental Drift star, 42, is set on the plan she’s had for years to adopt a child, she said on Wednesday’s The View. “I’m actually kind of working on that,” Latifah told co-host Barbara Walters when, according to ET, she was asked if it’s something she seriously considers. “I just always wanted to bring a child home.” While a rep for the star tells PEOPLE there’s “nothing new to report” in Latifah’s apparent adoption process, the aspiring mom tells Walters, “I’m totally serious, so if you got a kid that you don’t … just give me a year – let me set up camp and send me the kid. But no, no [I’m] totally [serious about adopting].” We gotta wonder if the Queen is gonna do this on the solo dolo tip or if girlfriend Eboni Nichols is in on the plans. Man Arrested Of Enslaving His Wife In Chains For 10 Years This story is as crazy as the dude in the photo looks!! A West Virginia man was arrested Thursday for allegedly making his wife his slave, abusing her and holding her hostage for almost a decade. Authorities in Jackson County, W.Va., charged Peter Lizon of Leroy, W.Va., with malicious wounding after a woman staying at a domestic-violence shelter filed a criminal complaint, alleging a woman she met was brutally beaten by her husband. In an interview with investigators, the woman said she met Lizon’s wife, Stephanie, 43, while staying at the Family Crisis Intervention Center in Parkersburg, W.Va., and described her as “gaunt and filthy.” According to the criminal complaint, Stephanie told the woman that she recently escaped from her husband, who had kept her chained up with metal padlocks for about 10 years, which tore into the skin on her hands and ankles, leaving noticeable scar tissue. Her feet were also “mutilated and swollen” after her husband allegedly smashed her foot with a scoop attachment from a farm tractor. Lizon reportedly called his wife his “slave”, and whenever he entered the room, he made her kneel down before him. The woman also alleged that Stephanie said her husband caused her to have a miscarriage after her husband hit her in the stomach. She said she buried the corpse of a fully developed infant on their farm. She also said she gave birth to another baby while bound by chains, but neither she nor her now-one-year-old child had received any medical attention. During the investigation, police took 45 photos of Stephanie, showing injuries ranging from severe burns to her breasts and back to broken fingers and bruises all over her body. “It’s amazing what one human being can do to another,” Boggs said, “and that should not ever happen or be allowed to happen. And hopefully this will stop and curtail that, at least in this instance.” Lizon’s attorney, Shawn Bayliss, told WSAZ the allegations against Lizon are false, saying the woman who told police everything has a “feeble mind.” Lizon is being held in the South Central Regional Jail in lieu of $300,000 bail. Chief Boggs told msnbc.com malicious wounding is likely to net Lizon between two to 10 years in prison. According to the criminal complaint, Stephanie escaped from Lizon on June 18 while he was returning farm equipment to a rental store in Parkersburg. He left her and their child in the family’s vehicle. While Lizon was inside, she walked away, leaving her child in the car, and hid in a Zumba dance facility. She then found a ride to the shelter and checked in under the name “Serena Sokol.” Staff at the shelter later determined her true identity. She was treated for her injuries in an emergency room on June 20. Wow. No words for this one. Source

Neither the 24-year-old nor her boyfriend has commented on the report or the pregnancy at all beyond their initial announcement last month. However, UK celebrity gossip sources claimed this morning that Adele will be hearing the pitter-patter of tiny feet by the middle of September. “Adele has barely left the house in recent months, so she could keep this to herself for as long as possible,” a so-called insider said of the star. The Real Housewives of Orange County are sitting down on Andy Cohen’s couches in Part One of the Season 7 reunion. Will Alexis get an apology for being called phony? (Probably not.) There’s not enough pinot grigio in the world to make him tolerable. Donn and Brooks apparently get along swimmingly. Vicki, apparently, almost ripped Donn’s girlfriend’s eyeballs out. Gretchen says Vicki’s not sincere in what she says. “Correct,” Vicki replies. But she’s not a hypocrite. Minus 10 . Vicki says she’s told Brooks to “get his sh*t together” regarding his child support issues and reveals that she’s known him for five years and wrote a letter to the judge to get him out of jail when he was tossed into the clink for not paying. Juicy! She just can’t seem to grasp how hypocritical she’s been with Slade and Brooks’ similar situations. Minus 15. Phony-gate 2012 is upon us. Alexis feels like the women ganged up on her, which is probably true. And Heather said “maligned” again. Alexis still doesn’t know what it means. Tamra said her blow-up at her coffee date with Alexis was the result of Alexis pushing her into it. And then Alexis called Tamra bitter and old. Gretchen says she warned Alexis that Phony-gate was coming when they were on the plane ride over to Costa Rica and then Alexis tells Andy that Gretchen’s lying about her hair extensions. As they say, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. Now, tack on this corollary: If you’re a deadbeat parent who has skipped out on your child support payments and a random call suggests you’re in line for a role in the next Jennifer Aniston movie — well, you might want to think twice about flying home for your close-up. That’s what Joshua Garlathy discovered when he flew in May from Hawaii to Pennsylvania, where he owed over $43,000 in child support payments , according to Pennsylvania paper The Morning Call. The 40-year-old had been absent from his child’s life for 19 years, and as his support payment debt grew, he ultimately decided to live in Hawaii, where extradition was apparently too expensive for local law enforcement. That meant his ex-girlfriend Beth Ann Holderman and bounty hunter Scott Bernstein had to come up with a ruse to get him to return. Bernstein contacted Garlathy on Facebook, pretending to be a movie producer, according to The Daily Mail. Bernstein lied that one of his “talent scouts” discovered Garlathy playing guitar in a cafe where he worked, and wanted him to appear in a new rom-com starring Jennifer Aniston called “Banished from Brooklyn.” The whole thing was a story Bernstein invented. But Garlathy bought it, and was handcuffed when his plane landed. He was in fact greeted by cameras at the airport, but they were for a reality show making a series on deadbeat parents. LMAO! Source

Pop star plays a boxer whose relationship is in ruins because of his profession in the new clip. By John Mitchell Adam Levine in Maroon 5’s “One More Night” Photo: In Maroon 5 ‘s video for their latest single, “One More Night,” frontman Adam Levine plays a boxer dealing with personal turmoil as he prepares for a big fight. “One More Night” opens with two goldfish swimming around in a bowl before segueing into a sequence where the seemingly idyllic home life Levine enjoys with video girlfriend Minka Kelly and their baby daughter is set against scenes of his hands being wrapped and of him training in a boxing ring. At home, he eats a protein-heavy meal and revels in his baby girl’s laughter as he holds her high in the air. But all is not well, as frequent cuts to Kelly’s concerned frown let on. The writing is on the wall when he has to leave for a big fight. As he steps into the ring to cheers, she packs her bags. He wins the fight, but when he returns home battered from the battle, he finds he’s lost everything that really mattered. Kelly and their child are gone and all that’s left are the relics of his profession — trophies, a jump rope, a few pictures and a lone goldfish. Levine hustles in the ring and trains hard for the big show, but it ultimately comes at the expense of everything he holds dear. Taken further, the clip could be looked at as a metaphor for the difficulties Levine faces balancing his professional life as a world-famous singer and TV star and a personal life with the same wants (happy relationship, a family) as everyone else. Perhaps the video is a lingering response to his recent breakup from model Anne Vyalitsyna , which came less than a month before the band debuted the smash single, “Payphone” featuring Wiz Khalifa. The song continues to enjoy huge success on the charts; it is #3 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100, having peaked at #2 a few weeks back. Maroon 5 and Levine have been riding a professional high for some time (they spent weeks at #1 late last summer with the Grammy-nominated “Moves Like Jagger” and Levine has found major success on “The Voice”), but is it worth it when it comes at the expense of private happiness? That’s the question the “One More Night” seems to be asking.
