They’ve also given the baby girl a name: Jubilee Shalom Duggar. The stars of TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting discovered at a routine ultrasound that the child, due next April, no longer had a heartbeat and Michelle had miscarried. “We have had many tears today,” says Jim Bob Duggar , 46. “This is life, and I understand that we are going though something that many others have.” “You think about the what-ifs, but God gives us strength to go on. We won’t be able to see this child’s life and the phases we’ve seen for our other children.” “But we will see this child in heaven one day. Guns were among the acts named on Wednesday as the Class of 2012, which includes fellow L.A. rockers the Red Hot Chili Peppers , iconic New York rap trio the Beastie Boys , 1960s pop singer Laura Nyro, the Small Faces (and their later Rod Stewart-led incarnation, the Faces), as well as mellow 1960s singer Donovan. Also on the roster for the induction ceremony, which will take place on April 14 in Cleveland and air on HBO in early May, is early influence blues guitarist Freddie King and nonperformer Don Kirshner, who created the Archies and Monkees and hosted the long-running live-music TV show “Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert.” Among those passed over this year were the Cure, Joan Jett, Heart and hip-hip duo Eric B. & Rakim. Acts become eligible for the Hall 25 years after the release of their first single or album, so this year’s crop all started releasing music in or before the year 1986. Led by the mercurial lead singer Axl Rose, GN’R re-invented hard rock with 1987’s Appetite for Destruction , which featured such indelible glam-punk hits as “Welcome to the Jungle,” “Paradise City,” “Sweet Child o’ Mine” and “It’s So Easy.” The band splintered a decade later amid a clash of egos, disagreement over musical direction and drug issues that resulted in Rose soldiering on alone with a parade of replacement sidemen. Before their induction was announced, buzz had already begun to build around a potential reunion between legendarily unfriendly co-founders Rose and guitarist Slash as well as the rest of the classic line-up, which included rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin, bassist Duff McKagan and drummer Steven Adler. Rose is currently on the road with the new Guns. The Beastie Boys have been mixing rock, rap, soul, punk and funk for more than 30 years, helping to cross hip-hip over into the mainstream in a major way with their bratty 1986 full-length debut, License to Ill , rap’s first #1 album. After providing drunken anthems for a generation thanks to “(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To) Party,” and “Brass Monkey,” they followed up with 1989’s head-tripping Paul’s Boutique , which set a new standard for artistry in sampling. They’ve continued to rock the mic over the course of five more studio albums, including this year’s Hot Sauce Committee Part Two . Funk-punk lifers the Red Hot Chili Peppers formed in Los Angeles in 1983 and released their self-titled debut the next year. Formed around the core of hyperkinetic singer Anthony Kiedis, high-energy bassist Flea, late guitarist Hillel Slovak and former drummer Jack Irons, the band made a name for itself with a spastic combo of funk, punk, hard rock and hip-hop, graduating from an underground fanbase to worldwide stardom and Grammy-winning albums thanks to such landmark tracks as “Give It Away,” “Under the Bridge” and “Scar Tissue.” Like the Who, English mod rockers the Small Faces were heavily influenced by American R&B, which they explored on signature songs “Itchycoo Park,” “Lazy Sunday” and “All or Nothing.” In their second phase as the Faces, members included future Rolling Stones rhythm guitarist Ronnie Wood and singer Rod Stewart. Late singer/songwriter Laura Nyro was just 19 when she recorded her debut in 1966, the same year folk trio Peter, Paul & Mary recorded her song, “And When I Die.” The fragile singer with an eclectic style wrote a string of songs that became hits for other acts, including “Stoned Soul Picnic,” “Sweet Blindness,” “Wedding Bell Blues” and “Blowin’ Away.” She also scored her own hit with Carole King’s “Up on the Roof.” Psychedelic Folkie Donovan Leitch scored a number of hits in the 1960s, including “Sunshine Superman,” “Mellow Yellow” and “Hurdy Gurdy Man.” Dissension has become one of the reliable side stories of the Rock Hall ceremonies. While such notoriously splintered acts as Led Zeppelin and the Talking Heads managed to set aside differences for one night (Blondie, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Van Halen not so much), the biggest question this year is whether Rose will make nice with his estranged former bandmates. There are also question marks over whether the Beastie Boys will perform, as the group have eschewed public appearances since the July 2009 revelation that member Adam “MCA” Yauch was undergoing treatment for cancer of the salivary gland in the throat. Country singer Mindy McCready is “pushing her luck” by not following a judge’s order to return her 5-year-old son to the care of her mother in Florida, her ex says. Billy McKnight, the father of Zander, spoke out after McCready said she would not bring her son back from Tennessee, despite violating a custody arrangement. McCready took the boy during a recent visit at her father’s Florida home, and a judge signed an order Thursday ordering authorities to take the boy into custody. A missing persons report was filed, and while McCready spoke with police to confirm she is not missing, it’s not yet clear whether she could face criminal charges. “I’m doing all this to protect Zander, not stay out of trouble,” McCready told the AP. “I don’t think I should be in trouble for protecting my son in the first place.” McCready says she is in Tennessee and cannot travel because she’s also pregnant with twins – and seven months along, making it impossible for her to return. The judge’s order means law enforcement anywhere can pick up the boy and bring him back to Florida. Billy McKnight told Today that he spoke with Zander. “He did sound healthy. He wasn’t crying or scared,” he said. “I think she believes she has a case and doesn’t realize that she’s pushing her luck on this one.” McCready and her mother have had a long custody battle over the boy. The boy was living with McCready’s mother, who was awarded guardianship in 2007. The troubled singer, who has her own issues, says her son has suffered abuse at her mother’s house; her mother, Gayle Inge, denies the abuse allegations. “As soon as the child is located, we will bring him back to Florida,” said Terri Durdaller, a spokeswoman for the Florida Department of Children and Families. “Although these circumstances are unfortunate for a young child, his safety and well-being are our number one priority,” she continued. Lee County Judge James Seals ruling to return the boy stated: “Mom has violated the court’s order and we are simply restoring the child back into our custody.” “Nothing more. Nothing less. The court makes no judgment about whether Mom will or will not competently care for the child while in her custody.” “It only wants the child back where the court placed him.”

Mariah Yeater’s lawyer in paternity case says that while lawsuit has been dropped, negotiations for settlement are ongoing. By John Mitchell Justin Bieber Photo: WireImage Justin Bieber reportedly took a DNA test Friday in response to the paternity case brought against him by Mariah Yeater, a 20-year-old California woman alleging the singer fathered her 4-month-old son, and now Yeater’s attorney tells TMZ his client will submit her baby for testing. Late last month, Yeater filed a lawsuit claiming she became pregnant by Bieber during a backstage encounter following his October 25, 2010, concert at the Los Angeles Staples Center. Yeater withdrew her paternity suit a few weeks later and was dropped as a client by her initial legal team in mid-November. She went on to hire new counsel, led by Chicago-based attorney Jeffrey Leving, who told MTV News that while the suit had been dropped, negotiations for a settlement were ongoing. Bieber’s legal team vehemently denies the allegations and has stated from the get-go that it might pursue legal action to protect the pop star from further false claims. “As we’ve said from the beginning, it’s sad that someone would fabricate such a malicious, defamatory and demonstrably false claim,” Bieber’s spokesman, Matthew Hiltzik, said in a statement. “We’ll continue to consider all of our options to protect Justin.” What Are Bieber’s Legal Options Now That Yeater Has Dropped Her Suit? After reports surfaced that Bieber took a DNA test in New Jersey, TMZ reported Yeater was deliberately avoiding having her child tested because she knew the results would serve as evidence against her, should Bieber’s team file suit for defamation or abuse of the legal process. Her lawyer is now dispelling that notion, telling the gossip site that his client “can’t wait” to submit her young son for testing. Leving, however, claimed he has a problem with the DNA test Bieber reportedly submitted because a member of his team was not present when it was administered. The lawyer said he has been in touch with Bieber’s legal counsel, headed by Howard Weitzman, and hopes both teams can reach an agreement on DNA-testing protocol. Bieber has maintained a positive attitude throughout the ordeal. He has not altered the promotional tour for his holiday album, Under the Mistletoe , including a recent performance at the American Music Awards and on the “Today” show, and told MTV News last week at the Pencils of Promise charity event that he’s doing “great.” Earlier that day, he spoke of the paternity case briefly with New York’s Z100 radio station , saying, “As far as the whole baby situation, it’s unfortunate that it had to happen like that.
