Gabriel Aubry has lost to his ex-girlfriend in court once again. The Canadian model was hoping a judge would lift the ruling that obligated a nanny to be present any time he was with he and Halle Berry’s three-year old daughter, Nahla. The actress had opposed such a request. And a judge sided with the Oscar winner yesterday, upholding the original agreement between these exes for supervised visitation only. Sources tell TMZ Aubry is peeved over the outcome because he feels a lack of alone time is affecting his relationship with his child. Berry also defeated Aubry in court this summer when a judge ruled she could bring Nahla with her on a movie shoot in Europe. In June, Berry accused her ex of neglect . Wow… While Steve Jobs’ biological father is getting side-eyes for trying to get in touch with his son in his final days, his birth mother is holed up in a nursing home completely unaware that the son she was forced to give up passed away. Joanne Simpson, who reluctantly gave her son up for adoption after falling pregnant when she was a student, is seriously unwell in a nursing home in Los Angeles and has no idea her son has died, MailOnline can reveal. Sources close to the family said the Apple founder’s biological mother, Joanne Simpson, 79, is tragically battling advanced dementia. She has very limited mental capacity and is said barely to know who she is, let alone what has become of the son she gave away. Jobs was adopted in 1955 after being born to Abdulfattah John Jandali, a Syrian man, and Joanne Schieble, who was a graduate student at the time. The couple were not married and keeping him would have been deemed shameful by their communities. Brought up by Paul and Clara Jobs, Steve is thought to have reconciled with his mother but never to have made contact with his biological father. In his renowned 2005 commencement address at Stanford University, Jobs described how his mother signed the adoption papers reluctantly, wanting to give him away to a well-educated couple. Paul Jobs was a high-school drop-out who became a machinist and his wife Clara never graduated from college. Joanne Simpson eventually married Jandali and the couple had another child, Mona Simpson, who went on to become a famous novelist, before getting divorced. She later remarried. ‘My biological mother was a young, unwed college graduate student,’ Jobs said in his speech. ‘She felt very strongly that I should be adopted by college graduates.’ When he grew up, Jobs found his mother and the two kept in touch. He also forged a relationship with his biological sister. Despite the reconciliation, Simpson’s dementia is so serious she has no idea about her son’s death. Her condition has so far deteriorated she is said briefly to have been admitted to a mental hospital after neighbours reported seeing her wandering the streets half naked. A source said: ‘Steve was one of the richest men in the world, but his wealth couldn’t save him and it couldn’t save his mother. ‘We used to find her wondering the streets wearing only a house coat with nothing underneath and sometimes we would find her wearing barely anything climbing trees in her bare feet. ‘In the end someone dropped her at a mental hospital as they were so concerned for her wellbeing and then when her daughter found out they eventually moved her to a nursing home. ‘She was a lovely woman so it was very hard to see her demise. Jesus Take Wheel ! This is just horrible. The body of a 23-year-old pregnant woman was discovered in the basement of a woman who had been pretending to be pregnant for months… She had been cut open and the unborn fetus was removed. A Wisconsin woman was arrested after allegedly killing a pregnant mother, cutting her baby from the womb and telling cops the child was hers. Milwaukee police are releasing very few details of the incident, including the name of the suspect, but say it was a case of ‘foetal abduction’. The family of the victim later identified her as Maritza Ramirez-Cruz, 23, who was expecting her fourth child that she planned to name Omar. He said emergency services responded to a call on Thursday from a house near 7th and Mitchell Streets in suburban Milwaukee. The suspect said that she had just given birth to the baby, and the child was not breathing. Paramedics were unable to revive the boy and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman was taken to the hospital but, after an autopsy of the full-term baby – and medical examinations of the woman herself – detectives became suspicious of her story. Chief Flynn said: ‘During the ensuing investigations, detectives determined that the 33-year-old woman was not, in fact, the birth mother of the baby.’ Police returned to the address the following day and found Ramirez-Cruz’s mutilated body in the basement. Chief Flynn said: ‘Evidence at the scene indicated that she had been fatally injured there, and that the baby had been removed from her womb by force. Chief Flynn did not elaborate on how the older and younger woman came into contact with each other, except to say that there was no evidence that the two were acquainted before Thursday. Police spokeswoman Anne E. Schwartz told MailOnline there is no indication that Ramirez-Cruz knew the 33-year-old suspect. Local residents and neighbours have been shocked by the brutal killing, and many cannot believe police have the right person in custody. On Sunday night, Ramirez-Cruz’s husband Christian Mercado told WTMJ that his wife was a ‘good person.’ Because he doesn’t speak English, Mr Mercado’s stepmother Darla Guiterrez translated for him. She said: ‘We still can’t believe it. We know it’s true but we can’t believe it and the whole family is taking it real hard.’ Jacqueline Bonilla, whose daughter lives next-door to the suspect, told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: ‘She was acting like she was [pregnant]. ‘She’d push her belly out and I’d say, “Oh, she’s pregnant.”‘ Another neighbour, Keila Perez, claimed the suspect is the godmother to her daughter. ‘From what I know she had a baby, she had baby stuff in there, she has a car seat and everything in there. I don’t know what the hell is going on.’ The suspect lived in the property with a man and three other children, but police say no-one else is being considered as an accomplice. Chief Flynn said: ‘We are confident that we have the person responsible.’ Neighbors said the suspect claimed to have been pregnant for months. Ms Perez said the woman had been talking about pregnancy, and had even shown her a sonogram of the baby. She was expecting to deliver the baby by Caesarean section in coming weeks but had called Ms Perez around noon on Thursday to say she was having contractions. She said the woman’s three other children ranged in age from five to 14, and her current boyfriend was not their father. She added that the suspect had lived in the neighborhood for seven years, after moving from Puerto Rico. This ish is just crazy. This crime leaves SIX kids without their mother, three belonging to the victim and three to the suspect. Just terrible. Jay-Z’s carnival-themed fundraiser, held last week at New York’s Pier 54 for his Shawn Carter Foundation, raised $1,000,000. The event, called Making The Ordinary Extraordinary, aimed to raise funds for college scholarships for underprivileged kids. Jay arrived first to the event first, but Bey and her belly inconspicuously came later, meeting him at the Spotted Pig food truck where they snacked on sliders. She also sat at a picnic table and watched as her hubby threw darts with Alex Rodriguez. Jay and his mother Gloria Carter started the foundation in 2002 with only one student earning a full ride through college. However, in the next three years, the offering grew to offer 50 scholarships in 50 states. Now, more than 750 students have been awarded scholarships and nearly 500 kids have taken part in the foundation’s college tours, some even rode the bus with Jay’s mom. We love this! Here are tips for parents to encourage reading for teenagers. Lately, I have had a host of parents complain to me about their struggle with getting their teens to read anything but Facebook. With the surge of electronic there is a new opportunity to make it relevant in their world. As an adult, you know that reading is important and you obviously want to make sure that the teenagers in your life grow into adulthood with all the skills they need to succeed. 1- Set an example. Let teens see you reading for pleasure. 2- Furnish your home with a variety of reading materials. Leave books, magazines, and newspapers around. Check to see what disappears for a clue to what interests your teenager. 3- Give teens an opportunity to choose their own books. When you and your teen are out together, browse in a bookstore or library. Go your separate ways and make your own selections. A bookstore gift certificate is a nice way of saying, “You choose.” 4- Build on your teen’s interests. Look for books and articles that feature their favorite sports teams, rock stars, hobbies, or television shows. Give a gift subscription to a special interest magazine. 5- View pleasure reading as a value in itself. Almost anything your youngsters read—including the Sunday comics—helps build reading skills. 6- Read some books written for teens. Young adult novels can give you valuable insights into the concerns and pressures felt by teenagers. You may find that these books provide a neutral ground on which to talk about sensitive subjects. 7- Acknowledge your teen’s mature interests. Look for ways to acknowledge the emerging adult in your teens by suggesting some adult reading you think they can handle. 8- Keep the big picture in mind. For all sorts of reasons, some teenagers go through periods without showing much interest in reading. Don’t panic! Time, and a few tips from this article, may help rekindle their interest. Adults know how important it is for their teenagers to read. Reading is not just important while teens are in school; good reading skills are essential to future success in the workplace.
