Terence Lewis from ‘Dance India Dance’ — India’s version of ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ — just landed at LAX, and Hollywood.TV got a chance to ask him about his show and India. One interesting contrast between the two dance shows is that on Dance India Dance the judges are the choreographers themselves who train and prepare the dancers for the show. Lewis is both a choreographer and judge himself in the production, which combines traditional and contemporary drama and theatrics in their productions. Lewis enjoys showing off his choreography skills with the mentored dancers who are motivated in their endeavors in a very positive environment.

Lady Gaga Cuts Ties With Laurieann Gibson

Gibson had been Gaga’s creative director for several years. By Gil Kaufman Lady Gaga Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage After a long and fruitful creative partnership, Lady Gaga has broken ties with creative director Laurieann Gibson. The Hollywood Reporter confirmed the split, which came after reports that the two women had a serious falling out. Gibson has been part of Gaga’s inner circle since well before the singer became an international superstar, beginning with the choreography for the 2008 “Beautiful, Dirty, Rich” video and continuing through the soon-to-be famous steps in clips for “Just Dance,” “Poker Face,” “Love Game,” “Paparazzi” and “Bad Romance.” The pair were closely associated throughout Gaga’s rise to fame, with Gibson providing the choreography and artistic input on such landmark videos as “Telephone,” “Alejandro” and “Born This Way.” Gibson, who previously appeared on MTV’s “Making the Band” with Diddy and the “Starmaker” reality show, has been stepping out on her own lately, including a starring role in the BET dance competition show “Born to Dance” and another dance reality series, E!’s “The Dance Scene.” Gibson also co-directed the Gaga videos for ” Judas ” and “You and I,” (http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1669175/lady-gaga-laurieann-gibson-you-and-i-video.jhtml) but the women reportedly clashed on the set of the former, with Gibson expressing discomfort with the religious imagery in the clip. According to the Reporter, the tension was already showing during the filming of the “Judas” video, during which Gibson told the magazine, “At one point, there was two completely different views and after the third glass of wine, I was like, ‘Listen, I don’t want lightning to strike me. I believe in the Gospel and I’m not going there.” She was less adamant when talking to MTV News about the controversy, expressing pride in the final product. “I think the concept stuck with this one because, ultimately, there was a place where we wanted to leave the interpretation up to each individual and not take away [Gaga’s] power as a performer, as a dancer, as a star,” Gibson explained, alluding to the creative clashes the pair had about the “Born This Way” video. “And to leave the moments for you to interpret and be inspired by the fact that everyone has a Judas in their life and that there is a place of deliverance. For me, I interpret differently than her, and for someone else, they’ll interpret it differently.” A spokesperson for Gaga could not be reached for confirmation on the split at press time. Gibson also spoke out after she and Gaga failed to see eye-to-eye on the concept for the ” Edge of Glory ” video. After reports that video vet Joseph Kahn would be directing, Gaga instead went for a simpler cityscape treatment that drew some fire from fans. “Listen u disrespectful f–k they had an issue on set I don’t lie!!!!!”, Gibson tweeted at the time . “Creative Changes happen always educate ignorant Monster’s!!!” The Reporter noted that relations between the two continued to fray this summer over disagreements about the “You and I” video and Gaga seemed to confirm the end with a November 6 tweet in which she announced that Gibson’s former #2, Richard Jackson, is her new choreographer. Girls’ Generation: Five Things You Didn’t Know

‘There’s nine girls, but our teamwork is more amazing than our choreography,’ Tiffany tells MTV News. By Christina Garibaldi Girls’ Generation Photo: MTV News Nine member Korean Pop group Girls’ Generation are making a name for themselves in the U.S. The girls recently played an “epic” Madison Square Garden show, they’re releasing their first Stateside single later this month and their new music video for “The Boys” has nearly 15 million YouTube views after just two weeks. But although the group has had enormous success overseas, they’re still relatively unknown in America, which is why when MTV News sat down with Girls’ Generation (a.k.a. Soshi or SNSD to their international fans), we asked them to tell us what they thought new followers needed to know about them. “We have impeccable choreography, in-sync choreography,” Tiffany said. “Our music is upbeat, lively and energetic,” Sooyung added. Indeed, their knack for upbeat, radio-friendly songs has earned them success like the 2009 hit “Gee,” which is the longest-running #1 single on the Korean Broadcasting Charts. And with chart-topping songs and a devoted fanbase in countries like Korea and Japan, the group credits their success to one key thing: “Teamwork.” “There’s nine girls, but our teamwork is more amazing than our choreography,” Tiffany explained. “Beat That!” Music, however, isn’t the girls’ only talent: It turns out they’re also multilingual. “We have members that speak English, Japanese, Chinese and Korean,” Jessica told us. And if you wondered whether a girl group made up of nine women means navigating clashing personalities or even catfights, think again. According to the ladies, while things aren’t always perfect, the singers are as close as sisters. “We grew up together starting earliest age 10 and latest age 15, 16,” Tiffany said. “We’ve grown up and we’re one big happy family,” she added. “We know when to be around each other, when not to be around each other and as the time passes, we really appreciate each other’s presences and teamwork.” Girls’ Generation probably won’t be getting a break from each other anytime soon as they’re hoping to embark on a world tour, which Jessica said could kick off “maybe sometime soon, maybe next year.” “Since K-Pop is becoming a movement, we’re all looking forward to making this not into a movement, but for us to become part of a genre or become music here as well,” Tiffany said. “We definitely want a world tour. … Be careful, world, we’re on the way!” Have you checked out Girls’ Generation yet? New Britney Spears ‘Till The World Ends’ Video Hits Web

The re-edited version of the post-apocalyptic party clip features more footage of Spears and her backup dancers showing off their moves. By Jocelyn Vena Britney Spears in her new “Till the World Ends” video Photo: Jive A dance version of Britney Spears’ “Till the World Ends” video has hit the Web just in time for the weekend. The original clip, which premiered earlier this month and got lots of great buzz for Spears, shows the pop vixen leading a wild underground dance party as an apocalyptic storm hits the planet, and the new video features a lot of similar footage with a number of noticeable changes. One of the most conspicuous differences is that the new “Till the World Ends” clip offers a lengthier peek into some of the sleek moves of Spears’ backup dancers. There are definitely more shots of Britney dancing as well, even if sometimes they are obscured in shadow. Interestingly enough, much of the apocalypse storyline has been edited out to make room for those new dancing shots. While the party looks the same, the fact that the world is crashing around them is a nonissue for this version of the Ray Kay-directed video. Rather than focusing on the impending doom outside, this cut displays all the fun down in Spears’ sweaty underground party. As the video closes out, there are shots of her dancers, individually, showing off their skills, intercut with footage of Spears smiling as she sings about getting her party on. The new clip’s ending is entirely different from that of the original. Instead of emerging from her post-apocalyptic party to a sun-drenched world that, well, has not ended, Spears just looks into the camera, still apparently hiding from what is assumed to be some catastrophe that has befallen the Earth. It hints at a darker finish for Spears and her partiers … maybe in this version the world does end. “The real music video is best, of course,” Ray Kay tweeted on Thursday about his re-edited version of the clip. “But it’s fun to watch the choreography too.” Do like like the dance-heavy re-edited version of Britney’s “Till the World Ends” video? Britney Spears To Release Two ‘Till The World Ends’ Videos

A director’s cut and a choreography cut of the video will both be released. By Jocelyn Vena Britney Spears Photo: MTV News & Docs Who needs one “Till the World Ends” video when you can have two? Well, it seems that Britney Spears’ fans will get just that. JustJared.com reports that the singer will release two videos for her second single from Femme Fatale. According to the site, “The director’s cut will have more of an apocalyptic story line while the choreography cut will have the unabridged version of Britney’s dance moves.” The video was directed by Ray Kay and shot in Los Angeles last month. The video features Spears in sexy, body-hugging clothes getting sweaty with her dancers. “The set was a little much. It was grimy and gross and it felt like there was poop everywhere when there wasn’t,” she recalled in Sunday’s MTV special “Britney Spears: I Am the Femme Fatale.” “It was sweat and it was disgusting sometimes … [I] tough it out,” she laughed. In the video sneak peek featured in the special, Spears opted to change out of her sexy heels to dance in more practical Uggs. “It hurts … but it looks good,” she explained. “It wasn’t a full-length shot, so a girl’s about comfort when it’s not showing.” She later added, “It was a lot of fun. I had never worked with Ray Kay before. I was really happy with the work we did.” Spears’ “Till The World Ends” songwriter, Ke$ha , opened up to People.com about how she’d like to hang out with the pop star now that they’ve worked on a hit pop song together. “Skinny dipping. It would be a dress-up-like-Ke$ha-or-Britney party. Either her place or my place, it doesn’t matter,” the “Blow” singer said, describing their perfect hang-out. “I have a small, salt-water pool [at my house in Nashville] that has laser beams in it and a stereo so you can be underwater listening to music.” Are you excited for two “Till the World Ends” videos? ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Recap: Ralph Macchio Holds Onto High Score

But in second week of competition, Chris Jericho, Romeo and Hines Ward earned the highest praise from the judges. By Kelley L. Carter Karina Smirnoff and Ralph Macchio Photo: ABC The season’s barely started, and already there was a three-way tie for the top on Monday night’s “Dancing With the Stars.” When the new celebrity contestants got a second chance to make a first impression, following last week’s non-elimination premiere, Chris Jericho and Cheryl Burke; Romeo and Chelsea Hightower; and Hines Ward and Kym Johnson stepped up their game this week. All three earned a total of 23 points from the judges. After all of the contestants performed the quickstep or the jive, their scores were added to last week’s tabulation. Both scores will then be added to the call-in votes from viewers. With last week’s scores taken into account, it was actually Ralph Macchio and Karina Smirnoff at the top of the leader board, with 45 total points. Ward and Johnson were next with 44, followed by Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy with 43 points. It’s a bit confusing, but Tuesday’s elimination — the first for season 12 — should clear things up a bit. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba seemed most impressed with football superstar Ward’s quickstep. “That was amazing; I loved it,” she said. Hard-to-please judge Bruno Tonioli loved that Burke was able to turn wrestler Jericho from “a beast into a gazelle.” Head judge Len Goodman loved Romeo’s quickstep, saying it was “the best dance of the night.” Aside from the 23 points the top three couples grabbed, here’s how the others fared: Last week’s favorite, Macchio, didn’t impress judges with his Monday night jive. Goodman said he overdid it. Alley, fresh from a Twitter beef with talk-show host George Lopez, said she wanted to win both the competition and at weight loss. “You are so in your element. I love watching you dance,” Inaba told her. Tonioli told her that she had talent. Former Playboy model Kendra Wilkinson did little to impress the judges, though Inaba told her, “I saw more than the choreography. There was a newfound elegance.” She scored 19 points. Supermodel Petra Nemcova and Disney star Chelsea Kane each grabbed 18 points. The judges didn’t seem to care too much for Kane’s jive. The bottom scorers went to legendary boxer Sugar Ray Leonard, talk-show host Wendy Williams and radio personality Mike Catherwood, who each earned 17 out of 30 points.
