Play the Safe House Drinking Game

If you’re going to watch Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds traipse through the stinker that is Safe House , at least have fun with the unofficial Safe House Drinking Game, courtesy of the fine folks at Film School Rejects : “TAKE A DRINK WHEN YOU SEE: a flag, an explosion, a close-up on a computer screen… TAKE A DRINK WHEN SOMEONE SAYS ‘Frost,’ ‘house,’ ‘file’ or ‘files,’ the name of a city…” Might I also suggest taking a swig every time you find yourself on the verge of a shaky-cam migraine ? Prepare to get wasted . [ Film School Rejects ]

MTV Movie Awards Go Live Tonight! Who Will Win Big?

The Girl on Fire and the Boy Who Lived are destined for Golden Popcorn greatness, while big things are in store for ‘Dark Knight Rises’ and ‘Magic Mike’ fans as well. By Josh Wigler Jennifer Lawrence in “The Hunger Games” Photo: Lionsgate UNIVERSAL CITY, California — Happy MTV Movie Awards day, and may the odds be ever in your favor! You have no shortage of films and stars to root for when tuning into the big show tonight (June 3) at 9 p.m. ET, and that only makes the decisions harder. How can you possibly choose between supporting the Boy Who Lived’s last night at the Movie Awards and Katniss Everdeen’s first time in the arena? Too much pressure! Still, as in every competition, there will be winners and losers at this year’s show, with plenty of cause for triumph and heartbreak. And while we’re still hours away from knowing exactly who those victors are, we’ve got some sneaking suspicions about who will wind up owning the night. Keep reading for our predictions: “The Hunger Games” Before Iron Man and the rest of “The Avengers” sucked all the air out of the box office, 2012’s biggest commercial titan was the Girl on Fire. Tonight at the Movie Awards, Katniss doesn’t have to worry about Earth’s mightiest heroes — only Captain America and Thor are nominated for Best Hero , and it will take a miracle to boost them to the top — and can instead focus on main rivals “Bridesmaids” and “Harry Potter.” Fans have rallied behind “Hunger Games” in a massive way over the past year, and with a leading nine nominations to its name, the odds are most certainly in this movie’s favor for ruling the show tonight. “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” This is Harry’s final time to shine at the Movie Awards. As the fourth highest-grossing picture of all time, it’s safe to say that there are more than a few fans hoping for some good old-fashioned “Deathly Hallows” domination. Best Cast should be a lock for “Potter,” if only to acknowledge the phenomenal work of scenery-chewers Alan Rickman and Ralph Fiennes. It’s neck-and-neck between Potter and Katniss for Best Hero, but we’re placing our money on the Boy Wizard. And a Movie of the Year win is not out of the question, either. It has a huge obstacle to overcome in the increasingly hot “Hunger Games,” but as Lord Voldemort learned the hard way, you can never put Potter down for the count. “The Dark Knight Rises” Fans No matter who you’re rooting for at the Movie Awards, it’s the fans who will walk away the winners — Batman fans in particular. Christopher Nolan, Christian Bale, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Gary Oldman will all be on hand to present exclusive “Dark Knight Rises” footage at the show, in case you haven’t heard. Though we’re still in the dark regarding what exactly we’ll see, Movie Awards director Hamish Hamilton has seen the top-secret footage, and he’s “telling you, it’s good.” Expect this footage to be the talk of the town (or at least the Twitterverse) long after the show ends. Shirtless-Men Enthusiasts Another someone with an outside shot at dominating the Movie Awards conversation tonight is Channing Tatum, who finds himself nominated for multiple awards, including Best Kiss and Best Hero. Don’t count on him winning either of those awards — the former is all “Twilight,” and the latter is a battle of the bows and wands — but who needs a Golden Popcorn statuette when you have abs to put Taylor Lautner to shame? There’s growing buzz that Tatum is going to bring some of his “Magic Mike” shirtless magic to Movie Awards viewers tonight, so if you’re a fan of hot men sans clothes, you might be this year’s biggest winner. Russell Brand Finally, hats off to the man who’s going to keep the trains powered by farts tonight: Russell Brand, host of the 2012 MTV Movie Awards. Mark Wahlberg’s threats aside, we’re very confident Brand is going to absolutely tear it up at the show this year, if his past performances as host of the VMAs are any indication. Besides, Brand is allowed to do whatever he wants tonight — group sex , anyone? Head over to MovieAwards.MTV.com to cast your vote for Best Hero and Best Movie now! The “Movie Awards Punk’d Pre-Party” starts at 8 p.m. ET, followed by the 21st annual MTV Movie Awards live tonight at 9 p.m. ET! Related Videos Behind The Scenes At The 2012 MTV Movie Awards

The Bachelorette Fashion: Emily Maynard’s Wardrobe Costs How Much?!

Emily Maynard may or may not be the best-looking star of The Bachelorette yet, depending on your point of view, but she’s absolutely the best-dressed. A $350,000 wardrobe budget from ABC doesn’t hurt. “We had an enormous clothing budget,” Emily’s stylist, Cary Fetman, said. “It was bigger than any previous season … and we still went over!” Not that she really needs help – her sweet nature, good looks and adorable daughter are all a guy would ever want – but Maynard, 26, is going all out style-wise. “Emily has fabulous taste and was involved in deciding what we would dress her in,” Cary adds. “For me, it was almost like dressing a Barbie doll!” While she dazzles in her strappy $1,045 Christian Louboutin Straratata heels and a $4,000 nude Randi Rahm gown, she does have a list of no-nos. “Emily hates flats,” Cary revealed of the North Carolinan. “She loves to be a girlie girl. She loves dresses and anything glitzy and sparkly.” Oh, and despite her easy-going ways, “She is not a jeans girl by any means.” Just something to keep in mind, Arie Luyendyk, Jr. Keep it in mind. NOTE : To see how Arie and the rest of the guys fare in the coming weeks, check out The Bachelorette spoilers page on THG … if you dare!

The Only Animated 50 Shades of Grey Trailer You’ll Ever Need

You’ve heard of the erotic bestseller 50 Shades of Grey . You may have even read a steamy passage or two here and there. But why torture yourself by actually reading E.L. James’ florid-melodramatic prose when one animated fan trailer gives you all the essential need-to-knows — including the best-worst cringe-inducing scene of the book? Now, there are a lot of cringe-inducing scenes in 50 Shades of Grey and its subsequent sequels, 50 Shades Darker and 50 Shades Freed , involving college grad/virgin Anastasia Steele and her handsome would-be boyfriend/BDSM master Christian Grey . (Spoilers ahead!) This is because young Ana is a whiny pleaser who submits to bondage and spankings and such in the hope that she can cure the handsome deviant Christian of his kinky ways, and also because Ana is a naive young thing who can’t work technology or remember to eat all by herself. Which is how things like The Bathroom Scene come to bear. (Skip ahead to Chapter 23 if you’re reading along at home!) Forget the whips and every-five-minutes sex and interior monologues between Ana and her “inner goddess” — here’s a scene that explains the Ana-Christian relationship in a nutshell, in which he takes the liberty of yanking out her tampon so they can have sex . (Courtesy of YouTube user Philiafelice, who strikes the right balance of incredulity and real talk in her breakdown of 50 Shades and its trashy appeal.) Splash! I cannot wait to see how they even attempt to pull this off in the movie. [ philiafelice via @evafay ]

‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’: Stephenie Meyer Speaks Out

‘Twilight’ author tells MTV News that E L James’ fan fiction bestseller is ‘really not my genre, not my thing.’ By Fallon Prinzivalli, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Photo: The Writer’s Coffee Shop “Fifty Shades of Grey” seems to be on everyone’s mind lately. How will they make NC-17 reading material into an R-rated film? Who will take on the role of the timid Ana Steele? And, most importantly, who will be cast as Christian Grey , the sexy leading man? Those all are important questions, but the one query we were itching to have answered is: What does “Twilight” author Stephenie Meyer think of the book? E L James’ trilogy started out as “Twilight” fan fiction, after all. When MTV News caught up with the writer on the set of “The Host,” she told us she doesn’t know much about “Fifty Shades,” but she supports James in her endeavor. “I haven’t read it. I mean, that’s really not my genre, not my thing,” she said with a laugh. “I’ve heard about it; I haven’t really gotten into it that much. Good on her — she’s doing well. That’s great!” “Fifty Shades” follows the sadomasochistic affair of college graduate Ana Steele and dominant billionaire Christian Grey. Their relationship begins as a purely physical attraction, but as they become engrossed in each other and start to fall in love, Ana realizes Christian’s past might not be something she wants to uncover. Christian represents Edward Cullen, a brooding, self-deprecating and impossibly good-looking man with a few secrets, while Ana is an adaptation of the clumsy and shy Bella Swan. Without Meyer’s novel, “Fifty Shades” might not exist. “It might not exist in the exact form that it’s in,” Meyer said. “Obviously, [James] had a story in her, and so it would’ve come out in some other way.” But James isn’t the only writer who gained Meyer’s support. “The Host” author mentioned being a “super fan” of Suzanne Collins’ “The Hunger Games.” “I’m just excited for anything that they do,” she said. “I was really excited they were turning it into a movie. Of course, then you have that, ‘Are they gonna screw it up?’ ’cause it’s so awesome, but they didn’t; it’s awesome. I’m really looking forward to the next one. I have fingers crossed for a couple of casting choices.” Once she revealed she had actors in mind, we had to ask her pick for the beloved District 4 tribute, Finnick Odair: “Taylor Kitsch,” she said, stating her choice. “Is there another option?” When our correspondent Josh Horowitz mentioned he spoke to Kitsch, and the actor said he’s not interested in the role, Meyer was more than a little disappointed, saying, “You’re breaking my heart.”

Katy Perry’s ‘Part of Me’ Shows Singer At Her Most ‘Vulnerable’

‘I think it’s important … for people to not think people in my position are perfect,’ Perry tells MTV News. By Christina Garibaldi Katy Perry Photo: MTV News Katy Perry is not looking to hold anything back when she releases her 3-D concert movie, “Part of Me,” in July. Shot throughout 2011, the film takes fans backstage on her California Dreams Tour, into the studio with the singer and on set for her videos, giving audiences a behind-the-scenes look at the hard work involved in being a pop star. Yet, with so many moments captured for this movie, Perry admits it’s hard to narrow down the one scene that all fans will be talking about. “There’s lots of moments,” Perry told MTV News at the Pepsi Fleet Week Katy Perry “Part of Me” Concert . “I love making music videos and I like them to be jam-packed visually, and I want there to not be a dull moment in this film. There’s really high-energy moments. Of course, there’s the concert. If some people didn’t see the show — which a lot of people haven’t seen the show because really I’ve done 124 shows — but a lot of people couldn’t get a ticket or they just couldn’t make it out that night, so I cut together the best of the show.” But there is much more to this film than the dazzling onstage performances. The singer is out to show all her Katy Cats the real Katy Perry . The film delves into Perry’s struggle with making it as a singer, her strict Christian upbringing and, of course, her much publicized divorce from Russell Brand . “There’s a lot of background of how I got to where I am, but such a huge emotional palette in the movie, and it’s going to be really exciting,” Perry said. “It’s the most intimate I’ve ever been. I mean that in a non-sexual way … I mean it in a vulnerable way. And so I’m not scared of it because I think it’s important for me, and important these days, for people to not think people in my position are perfect and that if they want to achieve this type of dream or achieve a goal that they have to be flawless, they don’t.” And Perry admits she is far from flawless in this film, revealing to her fans that even though she may be one of the biggest pop stars in the world, she is still just a normal girl. “What you see in the movie is all the mechanics of the operation,” Perry said. “And there’s a lot of me bloated, with zits, fat, not shaded, not carved, not snatched, just normal.” The “Katy Perry: Part of Me” concert film hits theaters July 5. Are you excited for Katy Perry’s 3-D flick? Let us know in the comments.
