FBI Ranks Detroit 2nd Most Violent Big City in America

According to TheDetroitNews , in an FBI crime data report released this morning, Detroit has moved up to the 2nd most violent big city in America. The report concludes that murders in the motor city have actually decreased since the FBI’s last Uniform Crime Report in 2017. In that report Detroit sat at a staggering 303 murders, which has dropped significantly to 267 murders. But apparently this doesn’t effect the report because violent crimes outside of murder have increased in the city. In 2016 the city had 13, 705 violent crimes which includes: murder, rape, assault, and robbery. Unfortunately for Detroit that number saw a rise to 13,796 in 2017. Detroit’s crime rate is now at 2,057 violent crimes per 100,000 people. This number is only higher in one city in America; St. Louis, MO. Detroit has beaten other metropolitan cities like Baltimore, Memphis, and Kansas City. The good news is that Detroit is not the city with the highest murder rate, but that comes with bad news as well, we are still in the top three. The highest murder rate also goes to St. Louis, Missouri, with 205 murders at a rate of 66 per 100,000 citizens. Baltimore falls in 2nd place at 342 murders at a rate of 56 per 100,000 citizens, and in third place is our city which is currently sitting at, 40 murders per 100,000 citizens. The Detroit News also reported that violent crimes in the country overall have fallen 0.2 percent over the last year, which is great news for the country overall. We just hope that with the reinvigoration of downtown, that we can possibly get aboard this same objective and bring the violent crime number down in the city. For those who live in the Detroit Metro area, it is no secret that there is a staggering poverty level that seems to be rising within the city, while suburbs notice significant growth in that regard. This is a great contributor to violent crimes, and without an acknowledgment of this we may not see any decreases in violent crimes. This is just another reason why citizens in Detroit and its surrounding cities should make sure to register to vote for Novembers mid-term elections. Veronica Mars Revival: It’s Happening, Marshmallows!

Kristen Bell currently stars on The Good Place. And it may be the best show on network television. But the beloved actress is about to head back to a wonderful place, a place where she truly became a popular household name. That place is the city of Neptune, California. Following a few weeks of rumors that seemed too amazing to be true, Hulu has now confirmed that Veronica Mars really is returning to the air. The former UPN/The CW drama will air eight brand new episodes on this streaming service in 2019. Series creator Rob Thomas will write the first episode of the revival and serve as an executive producer; while Bell, of course, will reprise her title role in the series. At this point, we need to stop with the official background information and quickly add: EEEEK! YES! WE CAN’T BELIEVE THIS IS REALLY HAPPENING!!!!!! Veronica Mars ran for three seasons and was canceled way back in 2007. The series starred Bell as a high school student who suffered a major personal trauma and then worked alongside her father (or often in defiance of her father) as a private investigator, uncovering various crimes and secrets in her posh home town. The show had such a rabid fan base that a Veronica Mars movie was released in 2014. Along with this incredible revival news, we can confirm the following: – All past episodes of the original Veronica Mars will also be headed to Hulu. Fans can stream seasons 1-3 (as well as the 2014 fan-funded feature film) starting in summer 2019. – A synopsis for the return in general has been released! This is the Hulu logline for the right installments on tap: Spring breakers are getting murdered in Neptune, thereby decimating the seaside town’s lifeblood tourist industry. After Mars Investigations is hired by the parents of one of the victims to find their son’s killer, Veronica is drawn into an epic eight-episode mystery that pits the enclave’s wealthy elites, who would rather put an end to the month-long bacchanalia, against a working class that relies on the cash influx that comes with being the West Coast’s answer to Daytona Beach. It’s unclear right now who else from the original cast will be returning. But Bell is pretty stoked about everything, writing today on Instagram in response to the news: Attention all Marshmallows: BREAKING NEWS!!!!! We are OFFICIALLY back in business!!! A new #veronicamars series is coming back, on @hulu !!!! Veronica has always been a super hero without a Cape. And I think shes exactly what the world needs right now. Thank you to all my fellow marshmallows who stayed excited. Thank you to @hulu for the opportunity. I hope we’re still friends after I taser I you. Revivals and returns are all the TV rage these days, of course. CBS is somehow bringing back both Murphy Brown and Magnum P.I. this fall, while Roseanne was a giant hit for ABC last television season and Last Man Standing will return to the smalll screen later ths year. But whatever. Who cares about those? Veronica Mars will soon air new episodes! Who else is excited?!?

Reec Treats the City has been a hit with multiple communities. Reec has teamed up with Positive American Youth and Wendy’s to provide free cook outs around metro Atlanta this summer and fall. This past event was carnival themed with cotton candy, popcorn, horse ride ( Courtesy of Brannu Horses ) and of course free food! Kenyatta Martin, author of Talents had his Motor Club bring out Sling shots for the kids to see. Hot 107.9’s J.Nicks also made an appearance.

Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin Pile on the PDA in London!

Last week, when Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin got their marriage license , one of the eyewitnesses reported that they’d said something about leaving the country. These two lovebirds have done just that. And while they may claim that they’re not married yet , they’re not exactly hiding their affection. On top of their PDA, Justin went so far as to serenade Hailey in the streets of London. Justin is supporting his not-wife Hailey, as the couple crossed the pond so that Hailey can walk the runway at the Falcon Catwalk Show with Adidas Originals. While they were there, fans spotted the couple out and about, including Justin playing his guitar for Hailey. An eyewitness to Justin and Hailey’s public displays of affection told E! all about it. “They were very affectionate,” the witness reports. The source goes on to describe the two “stopping on street corners to pull each other in close to kiss.” The image of Justin and Hailey being so head over heels for each other that they could barely walk around London is a sweet one. “They never let each other get too far,” the witness describes. “And,” the source continues, they “were always touching each other and laughing.” Apparently, this continued even when they tried to appreciate their surroundings. Justin and Hailey waited in line to ride the London Eye, a famous landmark ferris wheel that people can ride in order to appreciate other landmarks. While in line, the two “couldn’t stop kissing.” That is so cute — and may be evidence that the two are flooded with feelings of marital bliss. The eyewitness describes this kissing as going on the “entire time.” Which means that they missed out on at least some of the sights. But that’s understandable. The eyewitness explains that there was some healthy communication going on. “Every few minutes,” the source says. “They kissed again before they went back to talking and smiling.” Kissing is fine and well, but we hear that it’s good to talk to your wife — or, uh, future wife. The singing is nice, too. However, it doesn’t sound like they were too busy locking lips to remember where they were. “They checked out the views of the city and had a great time,” the witness adds. And their tour of London continued beyond the ferris wheel. “Afterwards,” the eyewitness describes. “They walked along the river and checked out Big Ben.” To be clear, that’s the literal clock and not a euphemism for the Biebs’ penis. After Hailey and Justin obtained their marriage license, the two were considered legally married — but Hailey took to Twitter to shut it down. “I understand where the speculation is coming from,” Hailey tweeted on Friday, September 14. “But I’m not married yet!” As was later explained, Hailey and Justin don’t consider themselves married until they have their wedding. That is totally fair — especially since these two diehard Christians consider marriage to be a religious commitment rather than merely a legal status for their relationship. We have a sneaking suspicion that when Justin and Hailey marry — some time before early November, we imagine — they will let the world know. They don’t seem to be hiding their affection, after all. Sofia Richie to Kourtney Kardashian: Stay Away From Scott Disick!

It’s been over a year since we first learned that Sofia Richie is dating Scott Disick . It’s one of those relationships that’s tough to wrap your head around, and not just because of the massive age gap. Sure, Scott is 15 years Sofia’s senior, but that wouldn’t be so strange if they were 40 and 55. At 20 and 35, however, it’s a little odd. Here, we have a woman who can’t even legally purchase a cocktail in a serious relationship with a man who has three kids by his baby mama — who’s been famous since Sofia was in grade school. It’s an unusual situation, to put it mildly. And now that Kourtney Kardashian has dumped Younes Bendjima , the whole scenario might get even weirder. You see, rumor has it that Sofia feels threatened by Kourtney . Sources say she’s constantly worried about Scott leaving her to try and make his family whole again. And now that Kourtney is back on the market, her concerns might be justified. “Sofia is furious that Scott and Kourtney are hanging out again,” one insider tells In Touch Weekly. “She understands that they have to remain civil for the kids but has become convinced that Kourtney is trying to steal back her man.” Sofia is reportedly so worried about the situation that she’s taken steps to try and ensure that “She recently reached out to her and told her to back off,” says the source. As for the Lord himself, it seems Scott feels that he’s stuck between a rock and a hard place. “Scott’s caught in the middle,” the insider claims. “He loves Sofia but will always have a soft spot for Kourtney.” Those who know Scott best say that as much as he’s enamored with Sofia, those feelings will eventually go stale, and he’ll come running back to Kourtney. In fact, Scott recently revealed that he’s considered reconciling with Kourtney. “We always said we’d try to get back together when we’re 40,” he said on an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians . Considering Kourtney is currently 39, Sofia may have real cause for concern. Hopefully, if the relationship fizzles, she’ll quickly realize she dodged a bullet by not ending up with Scott. Kailyn Lowry: I Want to Move Away from ALL My Baby Daddies!

Sometimes life doesn’t work out quite like you’d always imagined. Plans change, things happen, and suddenly you’re in a difficult situation you’d never prepared for. Like, OK, say you’re a teenage girl, right? You have a very difficult home life but a pretty cool boyfriend, and you wind up pregnant. You have the baby, break up with the boyfriend, and spend the next few years getting settled into being an adult and raising your kid. But then you meet another guy, and you marry him, then you have a child together. Sounds pretty cool so far, but after some years go by, the marriage ends up falling apart , and you get a divorce. After that, you start hooking up with an old friend, but guess what — you’re pretty fertile, it seems, and so you get pregnant again. And just like that, you have three kids with three different men, and luckily they all want to be involved in their children’s lives, but that does make things pretty darn complicated . Surprise, you’re Kailyn Lowry! Kailyn is originally from Pennsylvania, and that’s where she met Jo Rivera, the father of her first child, Isaac. They broke up and eventually she met Javi Marroquin — they moved to Delaware when the Air Force stationed him in Dover, then got married and had little Lincoln. Jo and his girlfriend, Vee, moved to Dover as well so they could be closer to Isaac. After Kailyn and Javi split, she started hooking up with Chris Lopez, a friend of hers from college — they both attended Delaware State University, which is located in Dover. She got pregnant, and she claims the pregnancy was planned , and that’s when baby Lux came into the picture. So after a series of choices made over several years, she has found herself with three children who have three different fathers, and every single person involved lives in Dover. And she’s just not down with that. “I wanna move outta Dover,” she complained on Twitter over the weekend. “Middletown or Newark. There’s nothingggggg in Dover for me.” She added three crying emojis, so you know she’s really distressed about the situation. On one hand, it’s not like she’s talking about moving across the country or anything. Middletown and Newark are both in Delaware, and neither is more than an hour away from where she lives now. But on the other hand, saying there’s nothing in Dover for her is really not the truth. Don’t worry though, Twitter was very quick to call her out on everything. “Your location is not about you at this stage,” one person told her. “Thought you were more grown than this and would’ve known that.” “Wait until your kids are older,” another advised. “It’s not just about you.” One of her followers said “Your kids have their dads in Dover and they are what matters,” and someone else told her not to be “selfish.” Other people left comments like “Cuz you’ve literally ‘done’ everything and everyone.” “What’s wrong?” another super classy reply read. “No men left in Dover you haven’t screwed?” Look, there are tons of reasons why Kailyn might want to leave the city she’s currently in, and if she’s just thinking about moving to another city in that tiny, tiny little state, then it’s really not a huge deal. Noah Brown and Rhain Alisha: Married!

It was only last October that Alaskan Bush People star Noah Brown confirmed his engagement . Rhain Alisha went from being his girlfriend to his fiancee. Exactly two years after they met, the couple took things to the next level. On Wednesday, August 15, Noah Brown married Rhain in a beautiful wedding ceremony. Speaking to People , Noah Brown and Rhain Alisha made their first official statement as a married couple. “We are so excited to start our new life together as husband and wife,” their statement reads. We would imagine so! “And,” their statement continues. “We look forward to building new memories as our own family.” That’s exciting! It sounds like they are already making plans for their life together. Noah and Rhain also gave a shout-out to fans who have supported their whirlwind romance over the past two years. “God bless everyone,” the couple says. “For all of the love and support.” Two years ago, on August 15, Noah and Rhain met in Hoonah while Rhain was traveling through Alaska. The next year, on April 17, Noah proposed to Rhain while the two of them were hiking in Juneau. It was months before he officially confirmed it. Unlike most of his siblings, Noah has not continued to be part of the world of reality television. Together with Rhain, he is forging his own path. But he is still close with his family. In fact, most of the 25 guests who attended the couple’s nuptials on Wednesday were family. “I tried on a tux for the first time ever,” Gabe Brown admitted to People . “That was weird.” Gabe’s mystery girlfriend was revealed earlier this year, leading many fans to wonder if him wearing this tux might be good practice for a wedding day of his own someday. “It’s been so hectic and crazy because we’ve had to go get these fancy clothes,” Billy Brown added. “We haven’t had time to think about it today.” Ami Brown was reportedly holding back tears as she spoke to People . “We are so happy for them,” the family matriarch announced. Ami Brown’s cancer is in remission , but she has probably wondered more than once whether she would get to see Noah’s wedding date. We are so glad that she did. Ami also said: “We wish them years of happiness.” Of course! Curiously, People did not include a statement from Noah’s youngest sister, Rain Brown. Maybe that was because she’s 15, but … she also did not post anything about the wedding on Instagram. Not as of Thursday morning, anyway. Perhaps she is saving the social media celebration for later, but fans have noticed that she also does not follow Noah on Instagram. Rain is the family’s de facto spokesperson on social media, but she’s been a little less active in recent weeks. And considering how Noah slammed Rain as “childish” and a “preteen,” we would absolutely understand if she still harbors hard feelings. Still, congratulations are in order for Noah and Rhain!
