Brooke Mueller is "Doing Great," Rep Says, Firmly on the Wagon

Based on a red carpet photo from earlier this month, we know that Brooke Mueller is alive . But her rep says his client isn’t just breathing in air – she’s also doing very, very well! “We spoke yesterday. She’s doing great,” Elliot Mintz told E! News. “Just this week she went sailing and had dinner with her kids. We expect her to be back within the next couple weeks. No rehab, no falling off the wagon.” Mintz is referring to the fact that Mueller checked into a stress management program a couple weeks ago, which set off alarms for those who believed she was back on the sauce. Other family sources, meanwhile, confirm that Mueller is residing with her two sons in a rental home on a coastal property in California. “Brooke just needed to get away because she’s being bombarded by everybody with what’s going on with Charlie,” said an insider. “It’s driving Brooke crazy.” Will she and Charlie Sheen ever reconcile? After all, divorce papers are already drawn up . Says this friend: “I don’t think either one of them are talking about whether they are getting back together or not right now. I think it all depends on what happens with this court case, he’s pretty bitter about it. That’s why Brooke wanted to get everything in place.” Well, sure, Sheen has every right to be bitter. He held a knife to the throat of his wife and has been punished by it with a raise from CBS and an eventual sentencing of almost three whole weeks in jail!

Oksana Grigorieva Accuses Mel Gibson of "Extremely Violent" Behavior

Not so fast, Mel Gibson. Earlier today, we reported that this troubled actor filed for a restraining order against ex-girlfriend and current baby mama Oksana Grigorieva. But TMZ has learned Grigorieva’s lawyers beat Gibson to it: the attorneys scheduled an emergency hearing in family law court on Monday, telling the judge an order of protection was needed against Gibson because he acted “extremely violent” toward their client. If this allegation is true, it would only be shocking because Oksana isn’t Jewish . In response to his former lover’s filing, Gibson’s order only prohibits Grigorieva from releasing certain pieces of information. Those tidbits appear related to confronations that began in January. A source close to the actor acknowledges some sort of fight took place, but says the pair traveled together happily soon afterwards. This insider added: “In these cases, when somebody cries wolf, the judge is mandated to assume there’s a wolf, until a full hearing can be held.” Meanwhile, a Grigorieva source also alluded to events in early 2010 and argued his acquaintance’s side: “There were other acts after January that were not physical but still constituted domestic violence.” Sadly, this gives new meaning to Gibson’s classic Lethal Weapon franchise.

Peter Jackson Won’t Replace Guillermo Del Toro On ‘The Hobbit’

‘Lord of the Rings’ director and ‘Hobbit’ producer won’t direct, manager says. By Gil Kaufman Guillermo del Toro Photo: Matt Carr/ Getty Images After years of delays and behind-the-scenes battles, the long-awaited, two-part “Lord of the Rings” prequel is searching for a new director after Guillermo del Toro dropped out of the project over the weekend. One thing seems sure, “LOTR” director and mastermind Peter Jackson, who is producing “The Hobbit” films, doesn’t appear to be in the running to step back into the director’s chair for the project. Jackson’s manager, Ken Kamins, told Entertainment Weekly over the holiday weekend that he spoke to his client about taking over the project. “As for Peter directing, that’s not something he can consider at this time as he has other commitments to other projects,” Kamins said. “But make no mistake, Peter and [producing partner Fran Walsh’s] commitment to the franchise is total and they will do everything necessary to protect the films and the investment made by New Line, [parent company] Warner Bros. and MGM.” Plans called for representatives of the studios to meet this week with Jackson and Walsh to discuss who might step into Del Toro’s shoes. The production of “The Hobbit” has been a long and winding road, and given the huge time commitment to filming two “Hobbit” films back-to-back, Del Toro said in a press release posted on TheOneRing.net on Sunday that he could not wait any longer for filming to start. “In light of ongoing delays in the setting of a start date for filming ‘The Hobbit,’ I am faced with the hardest decision of my life,” he said. “After nearly two years of living, breathing and designing a world as rich as Tolkien’s Middle Earth, I must, with great regret, take leave from helming these wonderful pictures. I remain grateful to Peter, Fran and Philippa Boyens, New Line and Warner Brothers and to all my crew in New Zealand. I’ve been privileged to work in one of the greatest countries on Earth with some of the best people ever in our craft and my life will be forever changed. The blessings have been plenty, but the mounting pressures of conflicting schedules have overwhelmed the time slot originally allocated for the project. Both as a co-writer and as a director, I wish the production nothing but the very best of luck and I will be first in line to see the finished product. I remain an ally to it and its makers, present and future, and fully support a smooth transition to a new director.” Pre-production on the two “Hobbit” movies , currently slated for release in December 2012 and 2013, has been going on for several years. Just last week, Del Toro, 45, told EW that he’s been toiling for two years in New Zealand with Jackson’s team designing the creatures, the sets, the wardrobes and action sequences. Jackson weighed in on the news as well, telling TheOneRing.net, “We feel very sad to see Guillermo leave ‘The Hobbit,’ but he has kept us fully in the loop, and we understand how the protracted development time on these two films, due to reasons beyond anyone’s control — has compromised his commitment to other long term projects. The bottom line is that Guillermo just didn’t feel he could commit six years to living in New Zealand, exclusively making these films, when his original commitment was for three years. Guillermo is one of the most remarkable creative spirits I’ve ever encountered and it has been a complete joy working with him. Guillermo’s strong vision is engrained into the scripts and designs of these two films, which are extremely fortunate to be blessed with his creative DNA. Guillermo is co-writing ‘The Hobbit’ screenplays with Philippa Boyens, Fran Walsh and myself, and happily our writing partnership will continue for several more months, until the scripts are fine tuned and polished. New Line and Warner Bros. will sit down with us this week, to ensure a smooth and uneventful transition, as we secure a new director for ‘The Hobbit.’ We do not anticipate any delay or disruption to ongoing pre-production work.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Hobbit.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .

Prosesuctors to Seek Murder Charge Against Bruce Beresford-Redman

It won’t be long until former TV producer Bruce Beresford-Redman is arrested for killing his wife. According to the suspect’s attorney, Jaime Cancino Leon, prosecutors will make their decision early next week – and the most likely charge will be first-degree murder, stemming from the death of Monica Beresford-Redman last month in Cancun. Cancino told TMZ he’s displeased with Mexican officials because it’s easier for them to simply just charge his client than actually investigate the case. “Bruce has never had the chance to defend himself,” the lawyer said. “They didn’t even give him the chance to participate in the investigation.” If a Mexican judge determines there’s probable cause to charge Beresford-Redman, he’ll likely get extradited to that country. A conviction of of first-degree murder results in a prison sentence of four to 20 years.

Bruce Beresford-Redman Returns to Los Angeles, Begins Custody Battle

A month after his late wife’s body was flown to the United States, Bruce Beresford-Redman was permitted to leave Mexico and return to Los Angeles. Now, the former TV producer suspected of murdering Monica Beresford-Redman and stuffing her body in a Cancun sewer on April 8, is taking the necessary steps to regain custody of his children. Speaking to TMZ, attorney Richard Hirsch says that his client has not been accused of a crime. Rima Fakih Defends Pole Dancing Pics

Newly-crowned and newly-embattled Miss USA 2010 Rima Fakih maintained her stripper pole dancing innocence Thursday in an interview on Fox & Friends . “Have you ever done those pole dancing classes?” she asked the hosts. “That’s what it was. My friend, a DJ at the station said, ‘Why don’t you get up there?'” Rima Fakih, 24, became the first Muslim-American and second Arab-American to win the Miss USA crown Sunday, besting 49 beauties from across the U.S. of A. Some have said that she is basically the politically correct Miss USA, as she didn’t deserve to win on merit, but no matter. We’re talking about stripper pole pics. Less than 24 hours after she won, photos were released of Rima Fakih grinding during a “Stripper 101” contest for the Detroit radio show “Mojo In The Morning.” Rima Fakih says her stripper pole pics were not a big deal . “A few pics were snapped, and, of course, they don’t look the best angle as I normally [do],” she said of the photos, in which she wears a tank top, shorts and heels. Although she did not remove any clothes, she was declared grand prize winner of the contest and won jewelry, gift cards, adult toys and a stripper pole for home use. “It wasn’t pole dancing,” she said. “It was more of a… promotional event.” It was pretty tame by comparison. In 2009, Miss USA runner-up Carrie Prejean was stripped of her Miss California title after some topless photos of her surfaced. Should Rima Fakih be allowed to keep her crown?

Bret Michaels Admitted to the Hospital with "Warning Stroke"

Sadly, more jokes about Bret Michaels’ affection for adult entertainment will need to wait a few days. The singer was rushed to the hospital yesterday after suffering a setback doctors have described as a “warning stroke.” On his official website, a statement reads Bret was “suffering numbness on the left side of his body, predominately his face and hands.” While conducting an MRI and a CT scan, doctors also discovered a hole in the singer’s heart. Neurosurgeon Joseph Zabramski says this news is “devastating to Bret and his family” and added: “The good news is that it is operable and treatable and we think we may have diagnosed the problem… it is great that he quickly reacted to the severe numbness and got to the hospital immediately. “I realize Bret wants to make a full recovery so that he can be active with his family, attempt to attend the finale of Celebrity Apprentice and especially get back on the road to continue making music. Without a doubt he is very determined to get healthy and make a 100 percent recovery. “Medically speaking it is a fantastic attitude both mentally and physically for him to have. However, Bret’s brain and body are not quite 100 percent yet, especially with the hole found in his heart.” A rep for Michaels sent out gratitude from her client to his fans, while saying Bret is “up, walking, talking” and “very happy to be alive.” We’d like him to remain that way, so let’s all encourage Bret to take it easy. There’s no rush to get back on tour. We’ll line up for tickets in two weeks or two years, man. Just get better.

Warrant Issued For Arrest of Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan is officially a wanted woman. While she parties away in France, a Los Angeles judge formally revoked Lohan’s probation, set her bail at $100,000 and issued a bench warrant for her arrest. “This isn’t just a DUI case,” Judge Marsha Revel said. “There’s reason for the court to be concerned. She has a history of not keeping scheduled appointments.” “I couldn’t be more clear about the priority of this case,” she added. “She should’ve made sure she didn’t go to Cannes or she should be back two days early.” “She’s not here. There’s really no valid excuse .” Lohan’s attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, tried to defend her client, saying the star now has her passport and will fly home as soon as she can get a flight. Holley also attempted to convince the court that Lohan’s passport was stolen , for real, and wasn’t just a really terrible excuse to blow off the DUI hearing. The prosecutors were not as convinced . “I’d like to see the ticket that she purchased,” said Deputy D.A. Danette Meyers. “I’d like to see some good-faith evidence that she was going to be here.” As for Revel, she wasn’t taking any of Holley’s excuses, either, and said there was probable cause to believe that Lohan was in violation of her probation. Basically, if Lindsay Lohan doesn’t post the $100,000 bail, she’s going to jail. If she does, there are still some pretty intense restrictions placed on her a$$ . She’ss been ordered to not drink any alcohol at all until her next hearing. She will also have to start accessorizing with an alcohol-sniffing SCRAM device. Yup, ankle monitor style! Until her next hearing, she will also be subjected to random drug testing at least once per week, as determined by the Santa Monica probation office. The exact reason for Lohan’s likely probation violation is failure to adhere to the judge’s orders to attend one alcohol education course per week. “Actions speak louder than words,” Revel said. “I warned her.” As for how, exactly, Lohan will enter into police custody, Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department spokesman Steve Whitmore said it may not be drama-free. “This individual will be treated like anyone else,” he said, adding that it was possible some cuff-bearing officers could even be waiting for her at LAX! “At the airport, that is potentially a possibility.” Meanwhile, Holley continued the difficult task of defending Lohan’s behavior after the hearing, offering up more excuses for the ill-advised trip abroad. “As you know… it’s her job. The fact of the matter is, she has an excellent report from the alcohol program. She’s done 10 of the 13 classes she’s supposed to do.” “The fact is, she intended to be here today… her passport was stolen.” So we’ve heard. Keep telling yourself that, Shawn.
