USDA Pulls Reigns On Slaughter House After This Video Shows Animal Cruelty To Cows! (Warning Disturbing) [Video]

What are they doing to the meat?: The U.S. Department of Agriculture is investigating “disturbing evidence of inhumane treatment of cattle” at a California meat supplier, the agency said. After receiving video from an animal welfare group, the USDA sent investigators to the Central Valley Meat Co. and found violations of humane handling, the agency said in a statement. “We have reviewed the video and determined that while some of the footage provided shows unacceptable treatment of cattle, it does not show anything that would compromise food safety,” said Al Almanza, administrator of the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service. The USDA suspended inspections at the Hanford-based company, effectively halting slaughter operations there. Company officials have not seen the video, said Brian Coelho, president of the Central Valley Meat Co. He said he was “extremely disturbed” to learn that inspections were suspended. “Our company seeks to not just meet federal humane handling regulations, but to exceed them,” Coelho said in a statement. He said federal inspectors continuously inspect the plant and are able to take action if they see a problem. “That is why these allegations are both disturbing and surprising,” he said. Central Valley did not respond to a request for comment Tuesday after CNN sent the company a link to the video. Compassion Over Killing, a nonprofit organization that focuses on animal cruelty, posted the video to YouTube and to its website on Tuesday. The group said an undercover investigator shot the video. In the graphic video, one worker stands on the nostrils of a cow that the narrator says has been shot in the head but didn’t die right away. In another segment, a worker appears to shoot a cow in the head several times. “At U.S. slaughterhouses, federal law requires death to be quick, when cows are shot in the head the process should cause immediate unconsciousness,” the narrator says. “At Central Valley, countless deaths we documented were slow and agonizing.” Central Valley Meat, a 50-year-old company, was one of the beef suppliers for In-N-Out Burger, a well-known fast food chain predominantly in California and the Southwest. Mark Taylor, chief operating officer for In-N-Out, said the chain has stopped doing business with Central Valley Meat. “In-N-Out Burger would never condone the inhumane treatment of animals, and all of our suppliers must agree to abide by our strict standards for the humane treatment of cattle,” he said in a statement. The plant has been closed while the USDA conducts its investigation. Central Valley said it will cooperate with the probe. CNN

What Would You Do? One Woman Shares Her Story Of Pregnancy After Being Raped

Seems Todd Akin’s comment had a huge impact on women brave enough to come out and tell their stories. Women everywhere, one after the other, have been taking their tragedies to the media in a heroic effort. Shauna R. Prewitt wrote about her experience and how, years later, she’s raising her daughter who was the product of a viscous act so many of us struggle to tell. While a student in my final year of college, at age 21, I was raped. I have dissected that moment — the horrifying moment that I became a “victim” — from every possible angle. I have poked and prodded, examined and re-examined. Regrettably, I have even suspected myself in a desperate, ultimately futile attempt to understand how I became a victim….People who did not even know me were quick to comment or speculate on my rape. What were you wearing? Did you scream loudly? Did this occur in public? Eight years after my rape, I find myself on trial against ignorance again. Rep. Todd Akin’s recent comments that “legitimate rape” rarely results in pregnancy not only flout scientific fact but, for me, cut deeper. Akin has de-legitimized my rape. You see, nine months after my rape, I gave birth to a beautiful little girl. You could say she was conceived in rape; she was. But she is also so much more than her beginnings. I blissfully believed that after I finally had decided to give birth to and to raise my daughter, life would be all roses and endless days at the playground. I was wrong again. It would not be long before I would learn firsthand that in the vast majority of states — 31 — men who father through rape are able to assert the same custody and visitation rights to their children that other fathers enjoy . When no law prohibits a rapist from exercising these rights, a woman may feel forced to bargain away her legal rights to a criminal trial in exchange for the rapist dropping the bid to have access to her child. For the sake of her child, the woman will sacrifice her need to see her once immensely powerful perpetrator humbled by the court. I know it because I lived it. I went to law school to learn how to stop it. Having fought this injustice for the past several years, I have come to believe that ignorance is to blame for this legal absence. Opponents argue no woman would ever choose to raise the child she conceived through rape. The only two studies to analyze the choices made by pregnant raped women indicate otherwise — at least 30% of women who conceive by rape make this choice. Others argue that no rapist would ever seek parental rights. Not only does my experience and that of others I know prove otherwise, but it is not surprising that a man who cruelly degrades a woman would also seek to torture her in an even more agonizing way, by seeking access to her child. Today, it seems we may face a new and unbelievable challenge: convincing legislators that women can conceive when they are raped. Our heart goes out to every Woman out there who’s ever felt that indescribable fear and struggles because she was violated. Make sure you Vote this year so we can keep Congress and Fat Cat Politicos out of our Crocthes! Source Images via Shutterstock

Lupe Fiasco Explains Why He Called Obama A Terrorist And “A Great Speaker, But Kills Little Children”

Lupe Fiasco sat down to talk about his controversial viewpoints and his upcoming album, Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1, this week. Known to be apolitical and someone who doesn’t vote, Lupe considers himself “a stone-cold subversive”: This time, “the plot,” as Lupe calls it, is to release the album’s first installment in September and the sequel in early 2013, with several singles hitting airwaves along the way. “It’s meant to tell the great American experience, touch on my ideas, my very rough, very unfinished, unpolished thoughts and feelings about America: American history, American culture, American society, American beauty, American food. You’ll see that laced throughout the album,” he said. If the first two joints, “B!tch Bad” and “Around My Way (Freedom Ain’t Free),” are any barometer, the rapper’s reputation for blistering social and political commentary will remain intact. No hoes, kush and rims here, thank you. If you know his music, you probably recognize him as a gifted lyricist with a wide range of beats and a penchant for material that can go a little over listeners’ heads. It’s not that he’s condescending; he wants their heads a little higher. Those who know him only through headlines and sound bites may be more familiar with his Occupy Wall Street participation or his occasional inflammatory remark — such as when he called the president “the biggest terrorist” last year. Asked to elaborate, Lupe said there was a lot of backlash to his comment — especially from a hip-hop community that generally stands behind the country’s first black president — but his barb was more directed at the Oval Office rather than any particular man who has occupied it. “I think that American presidentssss,” he said, hissing to emphasize the plural, “that position in itself, as well as American foreign policy, it has terrorism in it. CIA agents going to overthrow certain governments — they’re using terrorist tactics. They’re not going in there like, ‘Hey, you wanna have some cake?’ “ “I don’t think it’s being unpatriotic,” he said of his stance. “This nation was founded by rebels and revolutionaries, and its flags were carried across the battlefields by people who were very, very against the status quo and who questioned and criticized. I think it’s following that tradition, but I think we’re in very sensitive times.” Not only did he decline to waver on his incendiary assessment of the commander in chief, but the day after explaining the aforementioned remarks, he described Obama as “someone who is a great speaker, but kills little children,” during an interview with a Philadelphia radio station. We got to respect his stance on Politics and the fact that Lupe has stayed true to his roots since the original Food and Liquor dropped back in ’06. He touches on the striking level of violence going on in the country right now, especially amongst youth: What often seems like savagery among urban youth can often be attributed to a lack of conflict-management skills, he said, and it’s troubling how much of the violence in American cities can be traced back to base aggression and materialism. Rap isn’t solely to blame, he said, but it often reinforces many of the inner city’s most cancerous characteristics. “What’s the biggest commercial for aggression, sexuality and materialism? What gets pumped into these kids’ heads?” he asked in a veiled shot at his musical genre. “Taking someone else’s girl, which is so laissez-faire in hip-hop, will get you killed in the streets, but it doesn’t seem to be an issue when you hear it on the radio.” It’s an interesting notion, that hip-hop should have a conscience, and it’s not something you hear from within the industry, at least outside the likes of Common or Talib Kweli. Perhaps it’s just another example of how Lupe isn’t your typical rap star. This is Lupe’s fourth album and it’s set to drop September 25th. Source Images via WENN/Facebook

Dark Knight XXX Porn Parody of the Day

If you’ve been on my FACEBOOK or if you’ve watched CNN…..you’ll know going to the movie theater has become a pretty fucked up thing…especially when watching Dark Knight opening night, but then again I guess going anywhere is pretty much putting out lives in the hands of assholes who were molested, or rejected, or bullied, or just who hate the world because they can’t afford to live like a Kardashian….you know crazy people, capable of getting guns, unable to determine that Batman isn’t a real fucking person who can save the day, while pulling off acts of extreme violence in what probably took 5 minutes of his day to take 12 lives…. Not to mention, the Dark Knight now has a dark cloud over it that all those people who are pretending to care about the lives lost, will probably not even think about when watching the Dark Knight, because they will be too busy fearing their own lives…or not giving a fuck cuz bad things happen everyday and it is hard to keep up…. But for those of us a little more perverted than G Rated, comic book fan boy shit…and who don’t like leaving the house, there’s always VIVID with the hardcore option… TO SEE THE XXX EXCLUSIVE CLIP Sure I hate produced porn as much as the next guy, but it’s fucking hilarious when it is Parody porn… TO SEE THE XXX EXCLUSIVE CLIP TO FIND OUT MORE FOLLOW THIS LINK

Aretha Franklin Shows Interest in American Idol

Aretha Franklin has thrown her (often eccentric) hat into the American Idol judging ring. With Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez both officially off the Fox competition , the iconic singer is the latest artist to make her interest in the panel known. CNN reports Franklin sent it an email expressing as much. Rumors of who will take over on Season 12 will likely continue to circulate all summer long. So far, big names such as Adam Lambert, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey have all been discussed. Franklin, of course, would bring serious cred to the program. She’s an 18-time Grammy Award winner and was named by Rolling Stone as the greatest female singer of all-time. Do you want to see the Queen of Soul as an American Idol judge?
