Pottermore Explained: J.K. Rowling to Unveil Social Network, Gaming Site

It’s confusing, but intriguing – and it’s got J.K. Rowling behind it, so we have no doubt it will be imaginative and successful. We’re talking, of course, about Pottermore , the author’s latest creation, first teased last week and now explained in more detail. In a new video, the woman behind Harry Potter says the website will be a “reading experience unlike any other.” It will center around Rowling’s iconic novels, with users playing a key role. It will also be the exclusive destination for one to purchase digital audio books and e-books. The site opens in October, but visitors can check in on July 31 and learn how they can gain early access. “I will join in, too, because I will be sharing additional information I have been hoarding for years about the world of Harry Potter,” Rowling teases here: Pottermore Explanation: J.K. Ashley Hebert: Tortured For Her Looks!

Competing for Brad Womack’s attention on The Bachelor, Ashley Hebert turned to food to cope with the stress. Soon enough, she’d packed on 10 pounds. For a petite, 5’2″ girl, that’s a fair amount. Fortunately, Ashley changed her diet and exercise habits to lose the weight in time for her upcoming wedding to her dreamy mystery fiance (follow this link for The Bachelorette spoilers if you care to know who that is). Those 10 pounds weren’t the extent of Ashley’s self-esteem battle . Despite the misleading cover above (she was called those things as part of a comedy roast, after all), there’s no question she has legitimate insecurities. The way Bentley Williams messed with her, how could she not? Fortunately, with the show behind her and a bright future ahead, things are looking up. Ashley Hebert is engaged , and mentally and physically, just so healthy! “It’s a new, enlightened me. I’m happy. Glen Campbell Diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, Planning Farewell Tour

Sad news today out of the world of country music: Glen Campbell has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease. The singer and wife Kim opened up about his condition in an interview with People this week, saying Campbell intends to follow through on a series of live performances this fall in promotion of the album “Ghost on the Canvas,” which comes out August 30. Glen Campbell in Concert “Glen is still an awesome guitar player and singer,” says Kim. “But if he flubs a lyric or gets confused on stage, I wouldn’t want people to think, ‘What’s the matter with him? Is he drunk?'” Campbell, 75, is a Grammy winner whose biggest hit, “Rhinestone Cowboy,” topped the charts in 1975. As he plans a farewell tour, he says: “I still love making music. And I still love performing for my fans. I’d like to thank them for sticking with me through thick and thin.”

Did Adam Levine Slam Adam Lambert on The Voice?

The Voice highlighted its final eight contestants last night. But instead of focusing on the performances , Twitter was alive this morning with buzz over one of Adam Levine’s critiques. As seen below, in praising Nakia for his cover of “Whataya Want From Me,” the Maroon 5 singer took a few seemingly random jabs at Adam Lambert. Nakia – Whataya Want From Me (The Voice) “I’m not familiar with that song, but you just forced me to like it,” Levine said. “I’m pretty sure, although I’ve never heard that song before, that you probably sang it better than the person that sang it originally.” Was Levine simply giving Nakia props? Perhaps. But his repeated references to being unfamiliar with the original song and artist have raised the ire of Lambert lovers. In response, the former American Idol finalist took the high road (mostly) on Twitter: “I think Adam might know who I am after this next album. Get ready for me Levine. Hahah… But for the record, Im def a Maroon 5 fan. Fans: there is NO reason to be angry. Thanks for being protective but it’s all good. :)” Levine isn’t the only judge on The Voice in hot water over a recent comment. Cee Lo Green took to Twitter himself yesterday to clarify a remark many considered to be anti-gay. Back to Levine, though: Do you think he meant to diss Lambert?

It stars Jason Segal and Amy Adams, as they aim to reunite Kermit with his friends in order to stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever and raise $10 million. Will they pull it off? Ronnie Magro and Sammi Giancola: Actually Happy For Once?

Just when you thought you’d seen everything. Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola from Jersey Shore celebrated their final few days in Italy with a night out at 21 club last weekend. However, rather than end their trip with one last blowout, the group left after a few hours and headed home, arriving back at their pad happy as clams. With another pay raise secured for season five, RonSam and their cohorts have a lot to smile about. But still, when’s the last time you saw pics like this?! What Drives Ryan Gosling?

What does Ryan Gosling like to do late at night? Drive around the City of Angels, obviously. Apologies to any of you ladies out there hoping we were going in a different direction with that one. Our friends at Reel Movie News attended the premiere of Gosling’s Drive (in theaters Sept. 16) at the Los Angeles Film Festival Friday night. RMN spoke with Ryan and co-star Christina Hendricks on the red carpet about their project, in which a Hollywood stunt driver gets into trouble after becoming part of a heist gone terribly wrong. Weird Al Spoofs Lady Gaga in "Perform This Way" Video: First Look!

The music video for Weird Al Yankovic’s much-discussed Lady Gaga parody “Perform This Way” has arrived, and it’s as outlandish as you’d expect. True to form, the lyrics are hilarious and the visuals play off them well, but Lady Gaga provided a unique challenge as far as Al spoof targets go. In order to skewer someone as bombastic as Lady Gaga (this is a woman who wears outfits like these ), a parody has to be REALLY out there! Weird Al – Perform This Way (Official Video) Does Weird Al’s head superimposed on a hot chick’s body qualify, with his geeky dome bobbing horribly (intentionally) out of sync? We’d say so. Weird Al, ironically, has made a career out of this nonsense … and outlasted the careers of many of the people he’s lampooned in this fashion. Gaga doesn’t appear to be a flash in the plan, but if she knows what’s good for her, she’ll adopt Yankovic’s look in a future video of her own. How awesome would that be to bring it full circle.

Justin Bieber Asks Selena Gomez on a Date

Justin Bieber received an honor at tonight’s Muchmusic Video Awards. He then walked on to the stage and gave Selena Gomez the honor millions of girls around the globe would murder for. Upon accepting the International Video of the Year alongside Drake, Bieber turned to Gomez on stage and said she looked beautiful and, hey, maybe she’d like to go on a date some time! Final Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Trailer: EPIC!

The final Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows trailer has been released, and it’s 150 seconds of pure awesomeness. In anticipation of the movie’s July 15 release date, the preview takes us back to the beginning of the saga, depicting famous scenes from every film and setting up the epic showdown between The Boy Who Lived and He Who Shall Not Be Named. We’re also treated to emotional moments from the finale, including a confrontation between Harry and Snape that flashes to Dumbledore’s death. “Tell them how it happened that night. How you looked him in the eye, a man who trusted you, and killed him!” Harry cries. Amazing stuff all around.
